We’re visiting from Atlanta and found Chase’s Daily through Google—so glad we did! It’s easily one of the best spots for breakfast and lunch. The food is incredibly fresh and full of flavor, and we loved browsing their beautiful fresh vegetables section too. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

Google
This is one of the best spots in Belfast. The menu is small, but everything is local, fresh and high quality. We split a piece of cheese pizza and the masa quesadillas, both of which were well done and tasty, and we finished by splitting a scone and cookie which had the perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely stop in during the week for breakfast or lunch.

An incredible spot in Belfast, easily the best food in town. Special thanks to Anthony for the stellar service and local recommendations. Don’t miss this hidden gem! Great outdoor space and we were so lucky that the weather was so nice. Loved everything ♥️

Google
Fresh, local vegetarian food with a small but very tasty menu. The outside seating area is the perfect place to enjoy your delicious meal. Menu changes daily as the name implies but I trust you’ll be able to find something you like any day. The pizza is on a soft focaccia like bread and very delicious.

I have NEVER been to a restaurant will high ceilings. ITS SO BIG. My family went here to get pizza, a cookie and other stuff. The pizza is semi-nice with eh crust but all in all not to bad. Ps-love pizza cheese

Google
The most inventive and delicious vegetarian food you could hope to find. The passionfruit soft-serve ice-cream was delicious; what a perfect way to end a meal.

From a design and aesthetic experience alone I give Chase's Daily five stars. It's still one of the places I think about most from our fall 2019 trip to Maine. Belfast was just a charming town, and Chase's Daily seemed to be the lunchtime gathering spot for an interesting mix of folks who call it home–college-age young people, architects from down the street, older gentleman discussing the news of the day, artists, local farmers, etc. There was a farmers' market in the back that perfectly captured the color palette of early November in New England and art by local artist handing on the wall. I even found paperwhite bulbs there that I brought with me back home. The salad and pizza we ordered were incredible and made of much of the same produce for sale in the back of the shop. Not pictured are some pastries we ordered for dessert.

Stopped here on a friend's advice and very glad I did. From the outside or even a quick glimpse within, it looks like just a greengrocer with an espresso bar — several types of bins holding vegetables, fruits and cheeses, plus even a few potted shrubs here & there. You can dine-in (lining up to make selections, cafeteria style) but from what I saw at least half their prepared food traffic is take-out, not least b/c indoor seating is limited. There's also a shaded outdoor dining area that accommodates maybe two dozen people. Good variety of prepared foods; for everything we tried the quality was excellent. Outdoor seating is a bit /too/ close to a town parking lot, but how could you not love a place where the restricted parking sign features a stenciled AMC Gremlin? Highly recommended.

Yelp
The lattes, the farmers market, the baked goods, the wine, the menu, the atmosphere . . . All impressive and worth it.

Mike H.

Yelp
Chase's is not closed. The menu and offerings have been trimmed but still outstanding.

Harley S.

Yelp
Lovely place with a small daily selection of baked goods and healthy, fresh, satisfying meals plus nice outdoor seating. I wouldn't call it a destination, but it's a great option for a fresh breakfast or lunch when in Belfast.

Katherine R.

Yelp
Great place to stop for a bite, even if you aren't a vegetarian! I typically require meat to be included in all my meals, so an all vegetarian restaurant can be difficult. However, every meal I have had at Chase's has been fabulous! They have 3 daily specials and a soup to choose from and you really can't go wrong! They also have a great baked goods section and a huge farmer's market type section with filled with beautiful seasonal vegetables!

Yelp
Fun food. Interesting and imaginative menu. Beautiful surroundings inside and out. Pleasant and friendly. A little expensive! Worth the price.

Yelp
This local cafe was recommended to me and it did not disappoint! I came for a late breakfast and they had a wide variety of individually wrapped and packages homemade pastries from pear almond muffins to raspberry tarts. SAFETY For safety (coronavirus) the food prep and storage area is completely separated from the diving area. While I was there staff cleaned windows, tables and countertops regularly between customers. FOOD I ordered a potato leek frittata with goat cheese that they warmed nicely for me to dine in. It was tasty and filling so I took the muffins home to share. My family was very happy with the muffins and only wished I'd brought home more. A wide select of hand crafted beverages were available from coffees to lattes to specialty teas as well as grab and go drinks like juices and locally crafted drinks. They offer self-serve lemon infused water from a spigot and utensils (individually wrapped) in the no frills dining area. AMBIANCE The building is an older one with what appears to be original wood floors and a very high tin ceiling. Walls are painted a standard off white which would be bland if it weren't for the local artist featured who had large colorful pieces on display during my visit. They offered a variety of seating areas from diner stools to small and large tables. There was a great view of Main Street with large glass doors and windows looking out onto the sidewalk. Tables had real candles flickering away on them using the day which complimented the steel table surface nicely by making it a bit more homey and warm. Will definitely return!

Yelp
I liked the vibe and atmosphere of Chase's Daily quite a bit. Anchored right in the middle of downtown Belfast, I'm sure this is a popular spot year round. We downed several cups of coffee waiting on our friend, and it wasn't my fav. A step above old-school diner coffee but not very flavorful either. The breakfast biscuit I ordered was OK, but paled in comparison to a few others I'd had throughout the trip in both Portland and Bar Harbor. Same goes for the muffin (blueberry) that was forgettable and tasted like something I'd grab at an airport. The other plusses were that they have a market inside of here, and they had some baskets full of apples that we purchased. Again the look and feel of the place were super cool, it's just that the food fell a bit short on our visit.

Alex M.

Yelp
Great food and produce. Delicious variety. First class mesclun mix! Interesting art too. PS: Negative reviews are all probably from NYC tourists who are upset that they had to wait in line... because a bunch of other NYC tourists overran the place before them that day and forced them to wait in line. Uhhhh... if you don't want to wait in line there are plenty of empty, mediocre establishments in town.

Leslie S.

Yelp
Glad we stopped here on our way through town! It's surrounded by cute shops and restaurants amongst the old town buildings. Had it not been so cold and windy we would have walked around a bit more. When we arrived at the restaurant we just missed getting the last available table. However, the place looked pretty big and the host said it would only be a 5 minute wait. Within that time frame we were seated at a table and put in our orders right away as we had time to scan the menu before we were seated. The waitress was very friendly and listed a bunch of daily specials. They all sounded good but I just stuck with the Torta because it sounded good as well. The torta was a generous size, fair for a $12 sandwich, and it came with some beets on the side. I tried some of the homemade salsa but it was too spicy for me and the torta was flavorful enough. My husband ordered the squash tacos and I tried a bite...they were also very good! If you want to spend around $14 per person for a great vegetarian lunch. I recommend stopping in here!

Yelp
I don't write reviews very often in that i am in food service & if a place is good, keep it to yourself! This place is great! Best & lightest scone i ever ate; wonderful coffee. This place reflects hard work & great taste. It is a small menu but it all looks great - definitely on my itinerary for future visits.

James R.

Yelp
Breakfast and lunch options include pizza at Chase's Daily. It has a very granola vibe. The layout is pretty unique with lots of plants interspersed around the building. You can also get some decent coffee. In the morning there are several breakfast options. The restaurant is on the Main Street area. It opens at certain times for break and lunch.

Lori W.

Yelp
Could this be a dream!? Walking distance from our Airbnb. Incredible selection and high-quality and fair prices. Incredible space. Savory Breakfast items & we returned later for the incredible produce, we had delicious draft beer too. 4 great friends gathering for a "big" birthday and what a way to kick it off. Friendly genuine staff. Expect to be here every day. Anyone who lives here is very fortunate to have Chase's in their neighborhood. As a vegetarian for 42 years and remembering the slim pickings all those decades ago it brings a smile to my face to see the incredible creativity and talent that is evident now & especially here

Hannah M.

Yelp
Our best lunch in a long time. The freshest, exquisitely prepared tomato/basil/mozzarella sandwiches on focaccia and falafel bowl to rival those you'd find in Israel. It's lucky for our bank accounts and waist bands that we don't live close by. But sad for our taste buds!

Darryl S.

Yelp
Very disappointing customer service/counter-help. We went in (on the suggestion of Yelp! that this place had vegan options) and really couldn't tell from the chalkboard menu what (if anything) was vegan (or, if they could accommodate a vegan diet). Everything appeared to be prepared: All the sandwiches and such were already lined-up and ready for take-out! (I don't know if they make fresh sandwiches at this time, to be honest.) We asked the counter help if there was anything suitable for vegans; the chap was completely discombobulated and seemed flummoxed by our inquiry. He was sort of looking over everything that was laid-out for take-out, and really didn't know one way or the other. It was peculiar: You either accommodate a vegan diet, or you don't -- pretty straightforward, we thought. It all ended with us simply thanking him for his time, and moseying outta there.... I'm really surprised at the lack of vegan/plant-based options in such a progressive town...! Oh, well.... :(

Amy K.

Yelp
Very lively place with home made breads and sweets. Had breakfast here on a Sunday. The place was full and we had great service. Also the coffee was excellent. Four stars because the menu is limited and sitting by the front door makes for a distracting meal.

Rhonda M.

Yelp
We stopped here after picking up my husband at the Trek of Maine finish line. On Sunday morning they serve breakfast which was delicious. There were many vegetarian options, our server was able to assist us with veganizing a few of them. Danny was friendly, helpful and attentive. We will visit again the next time we are in Belfast. I had a mushroom and leek breakfast scramble with tofu and potatoes. Delicious!

Round T.

Yelp
James Beard? Really? The restaurant is nice and the produce is pretty fresh, but the service stinks! There is a waitress there that wears a gross musk perfume and is really unfriendly! We have been there several times and really don't see what the big deal is. The food is mediocre at best and I definitely expected more of their farm fresh products on the menu. They only serve dinner once a week, which we went to last year and it was mediocre as well. I understand that farm to table is amazing, but they don't really cook it well. There are also not very creative dishes on the menu, the regular pancakes, eggs, and a bunch of beans on non-homemade tortillas. It would be more acceptable if the service was good, but that waitress is killing their business. For someone like me, service is most of the rating. The hype is better than the actual result.

Paul K.

Yelp
Food is off the charts good. And beers are amazing. Belfast was one of our favorite towns in our visit to Maine - not as touristy as nearby Camden. And Chase's Daily is a nice part of what makes Belfast special.

Matt G.

Yelp
Pizza Friday's on spot. Bread is delicious along with baked goodies. Farm to table done maybe the best I've had it direct from their farm in Freedom down the way.

Carol D.

Yelp
Wonderful vegetarian restaurant that has permanently closed as of 12/31/22. Will be sorely missed.

Kim F.

Yelp
Needed good coffee and to-go breakfast food so I could go explore Acadia for a day while I'm in the area. Chase's Daily definitely hit the spot. Grabbed a breakfast burrito -- chard, black beans, rice, eggs, house-made salsa ... absolutely delicious; good coffee, too. All at a very decent price and good fuel for lots of miles of hiking in the park. Highly recommend!

Dee M.

Yelp
Breakfast: No table service. You order at the counter and seat yourself like a coffeehouse. Breakfast is limited to muffins and beverages. I had a nice blueberry Muffin and equally good iced chai. Chases is beautifully decorated in warm woods , exposed brick and hip artwork. See pics. The best is they are Organic and they own their own farm. Worth a stop in Belfast

Lisa B.

Yelp
From the get go, this place smells like the real deal. Take another couple of steps in and it feels right too. Not too polished but it is clear there is some level of sophistication. But the smell!! You can't fake fresh and they don't have to here! Server was attentive and knowledgeable but not overly ingratiating. We had margarita pizza - crust was thin and crispy - with light tomato sauce that had a delicious taste. Mozzarella was just right & confident the basil was grown there! The grilled cheese and sautéed greens were so fresh tasting and cooked to perfection. No runny greens and the mix they prepared was garlic infused and sautéed in olive oil. Simple. Delicious. Didn't get ANY food shots but enjoy the market shots!

Juan P.

Yelp
Chases Daily is a must place to go when in Belfast. I specially enjoy their breakfast. Recently I had the "Huevos Divorciados"; their take on Huevos Rancheros and I have to say that they where yummy. They also have some outstanding home made hot sauces that you must try if you are into a bit of heat on your food. The menu is a bit eclectic, but everything is yummy. The place is popular so keep that in mind as there may be a bit of a wait when you get there.

Jessica H.

Yelp
I absolutely love this restaurant. It has a very cozy environment, and a friendly staff. It's a great place to meet for brunch, or grab a quick bite to eat. 10/10!

Amy C.

Yelp
I had breakfast here one morning. They just have bakery items. We had a spinach and cheese tart and a popover/ custard pastry. The coffee was really good, nice and strong. The spinach tart was ok but was totally over shadowed by the custard thing. It was amazing. I bought another one to go along with pepper jack biscuits. I hear their lunch is good. It's on a cute street with other shops.

Rinda V.

Yelp
I have enjoyed every meal I've eaten here, Not fancy but good stuff.

Susie D.

Yelp
I love this place! We try to come here every time we're up visiting family. Whether we stop in for fresh groceries or grab a bite to eat we have never been disappointed. They changed the lunch service so there is no longer table service, just order your food, if it's pre-made go find a table to eat at and enjoy. If you order something to be prepared or a bowl of soup, they will bring it to you when it's ready. They'll bring over a bottle of water and glasses for the table too. Nice touch. Yesterday's soup of the day was fantastic and the white bean with greens and roasted veggie sandwich was equally as good. Can't wait to come back later in the season when their produce is in abundance.

Samantha H.

Yelp
Blown away! Stopped in on the way back from Bangor as I was quite hungry and Yelp! had no menu so I was a bit apprehensive as I am vegan so restaurant choices are slim here on coastal Maine. The food was absolutely delish and all vegetarian. I believe that the menu changes on the daily (hence the lack of menu). I deeply enjoyed a marinated shedded beet salad with the most amazing red lentil & lemongrass soup. My mother devoured a spinach and feta tart while my father got the tofu bahn mi sandwich. They also have a phenomenal small market at the front for those locals to nag their produce for the evenings meal. I will/would absolutely come back to this restaurant. EAT. HERE.

Capt G.

Yelp
Has always been, one place the food has never been but perfect. Had to drive to Belfast from Ct on Thursday for the day to check up on family and was able to have lunch here again. Truly great people, food, atmosphere. Just love this spot.

Bill M.

Yelp
Fantastic! Farm fresh local veggies galore served many tasty ways. My wife and I started off by each having a glass of a very nice vino verde for $4( what a steal) but then our paths diverged. She went with the rice and beans. More a deconstructed burrito than anything else. A heaping pile of perfect brown rice surrounded by all of the filings of a burrito sans tortilla, separated to mix and match. Refrained beens picketed veggies, this plate had it all. For my meal I went with the yellow curry. Think Thai rather than Indian. Bok choy, sliced lime, fresh peas and beautifully fried tofu. I lost my head for a moment and forgot that my meal had no pork-fat. You see chase's is technically a vegetarian restaurant, but the foods so good even a bacon loving carnivore might not notice.

Cathy C.

Yelp
Wow amazing place! I came here for the first time today and was blown away! Incredible vegan meals, an amazing array of breads & cheeses for sale, and a stunning farmer's market, all in one place! Definitely worth the stop! :)

Claire S.

Yelp
SO DELICIOUS! We got a cherry tart and a raspberry walnut scone, genuinely the best pastries of my life. They were also selling very beautiful flowers and the produce looked great.

F W.

Yelp
Fantastic food, produce, and coffee. Would recommend to anyone asking for an essential place to stop in Belfast.

Tim G.

Yelp
yum yum yum and yum. this place is magical in every sense of the word. beautiful array of vegetables ,frsh flowers and a host of food to feast upon. when you walk in the line seems a bit daunting. but it moves quite fast and you find yourself so distracted by the surroundings. you dont seem to mind the wait. the sandwiches, pizzas and tarts were divine next time you are in maine got to chases. it's truly a trip to remember

Sera C.

Yelp
We were stopping through on our way up to Milbridge, ME. As this place had the most people, and decent Yelp reviews, we decided to have lunch here. Service was mediocre, food was OK, but overhyped. But maybe for this section of Maine, it's one of the better options? YES I did really like the market in the back, and the concept behind the restaurant. But I'm not sure I would be back unless I had my sister in tow, who is a vegetarian.

john s.

Yelp
Great place for casual lunch indoors or out, the Thai curry is excellent. The dazzling local fresh flowers, delicious fruits and vegetables lovingly displayed, works of art in themselves and worth seeing alone.

Jas. K.

Yelp
A family-run, true farm-to-fork establishment and THE standard by which any Maine eatery should strive to. As far as we've seen and this spot could set the watermark for what Belfast could be foodie-wise one day. Now if only the town C of C can rally and promote this slice of eclectic slice of Haight Street in mid coast ME. The baked goods? Amazing. The Sunday brunch? Not to miss and if ever a place was worth a wait. Just check ahead for the unusual dining schedule (Dinner only night a week) Do yourself a favor, skirt Rte 1 and enjoy the arty calm of Belfast. Who needs Greenwich/Newport, North (a/k/a Camden)?

Monica L.

Yelp
I went for lunch today and it was wonderful. I highly recommend the enchiladas, and my friend raved about the curried egg salad sandwich. The baked goods are awesome. I loved the pecan tart and the chocolate chocolate chip cherry cookie. (The chocolate chip cookie was nothing special.) The produce market in the back of the store is simply amazing.

judy b.

Yelp
This is by far one the best vegetarian resto i have ever been to! We drive over an hour to go there and also to experience Belfast, a very cool vibe town. The wait staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu and food. Today we had a side of happy rich, a type of broccoli rabe without the bitterness, a warm spinach salad and a Michelin Swiss leek omelette. WOW. all super delish. To top it off, we purchased a bottle of their smoked habenero hot sauce! Best place in the down east region unless you insist on meat with your meal. UPDATE: as disappointed as we were when they made the change to counter service, we were back again after a year and happen to stop in around late afternoon so it wasn't very crowded. All we wanted was the pizza and wow, it paid off. It was absolutely incredible!!!! Probably some of the best I've ever had and I'm including NYC and NJ pizza (that's saying a lot). I still have a problem with waiting on line to choose what hasn't been chosen by others, but I will always go back for the pizza.

Matthew J.

Yelp
Chase's has THE BEST pancakes I have ever eaten. Perfect consistency. Not a flavourless fluffy sponge, yet not too dense either. And, unlike most pancakes, which absorb syrup yet somehow fail to taste sweet (despite repeated additions of syrup as the meal progresses), these hold syrup and even a small amount of syrup is detectable. I have been here for breakfast twice in 3 years (I live 500 km away) and on both occasions the service was cheerful, friendly and helpful.

Marshall F.

Yelp
My wife and I recently visited Belfast, ME and discovered Chase's Daily, where we enjoyed a relaxing outdoor lunch with our dogs. In addition to fresh and eclectic vegetarian options, the shop/restaurant had a great vibe. We opted for a mezze platter, tacos, and local beer. We recommend this establishment to those who appreciate good food, service, and atmosphere.

TG W.

Yelp
I've had just about everything at Chase's. The best: white beans with bitter greens in olive oil with Parmesan; sourdough blueberry pancakes; cornmeal pancakes; omelet with Swiss chard and feta; I could go on. Delicious.

Melissa A.

Yelp
This has always been THE place to eat in Belfast. I've been coming here for years when we visit Maine. Needless to say, I was shocked and saddened to see that they have totally ruined their approach to serving lunch. They used to have an amazing menu and incredible food. Now it's stand in line, order a cold sandwhich or pre prepared counter salad and sit at massive utilitarian tables shoved together. They are clearly going for volume and trying to push a lot of hot dog thru a straw for the lunch crowd. Forget lunch here. Try the Sunday brunch which is still incredible. And maybe try them for dinner which I suspect will be much like lunch was once upon a time. This place used to be perfection and I am sooo sad to see what they have decided to make it now.

Marsha S.

Yelp
My friends and I excited to see each other ( hadn't seen one another for a few years) met for lunch. While people were standing outside, waiting for tables to open, a couple people were at a table for 6 playing chess; another woman having a phone conversation - both parties had long since eaten and had taken their dishes away. A customer asked for assistance from the employee at the back register and basically ignored. A family of 4 had to stand to eat their lunch, others left. We finally got a table by the chess players. Seeing the comment below, I'd say they're woke when it comes to signs but sleepy in customer service. 2 of our party thought their food was good, the other 2 said it was so-so.

Nate C.

Yelp
I ordered the tofu banh mi, which was overwhelmingly delicious. The tofu was marinated and cooked to perfection, and it was also topped with fresh, crunchy veggies and herbs. The bread was also great, and all the ingredients were so fresh and complemented each other perfectly. One of the best sandwiches I've had in recent memory. It was served with a slaw, which was also amazing. The greens were crisp and flavorful, topped off with a delightful vinaigrette and sesame seeds. There were also two or three luscious, perfectly-cooked beet chunks on top. The menu is a bit pricey (I think it was $13 for the banh mi + accompanying slaw), but you're getting great quality food. There is also a cool farmstand-ish setup in the back. We got some Chinese broccoli (suiho) to go, and it was fantastic.

Regina P.

Yelp
It was just great. I had the squash soup with grilled bread......yum! It was amazing! Can't say enough good things about it. And a farm market in the back. Can't get much better than that.

Allen C.

Yelp
This is a nice little shop in the center of town. My host recommended it to me while I was in Belfast. I just stopped by for a quick bite in the morning. All I had was a coffee and a blueberry muffin (both great, by the way) with the intention of taking it to go but I enjoyed the atmosphere in this cafe so I stayed in to eat. The brick wall is a very nice touch and it gets plenty of sunlight with its glass frontage so it's a pretty good way to start your morning. The highlight of this place is that you can buy produce here on certain days. It wasn't happening while I was here but since I just happened to be here during vacation I wasn't going to buy anything anyway. But it seems like a local craze here so if you're in the area for more than a night it would be worth checking out.

Sara S.

Yelp
I was NOT expecting to find a place like this in Belfast. It was a pleasant surprise. We had a peanut-based soup, tacos, and some sort of egg dish. The food does take a LONG time to come out--around an hour for us--so don't come here if you're in a hurry. But the wait is worth it. Make sure to check out the fresh produce in the back and grab some pastries, which are also delicious. Glad we stopped by.
