Had a Taylor egg, ham, and cheese sandwich, and it was easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The service was also great—friendly and fast. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Food was delicious. I had the chimichurri steak and egg bowl. Wife had the 3 egg plate and we shared the French Toast. Everything was great, atmosphere was awesome. Will definitely be back

Knowing that you can find a breakfast menu in the afternoon is wonderful!!! The guy at the cashier served us with radiant energy, I ordered french toast and was delicious, my friends ordered the version with Taylor ham and cheese and they were fascinated. Highly recommended, the portions are generous, to the point that my friend and I were able to share our order and be satisfied.

Very good luncheonette style joint. I’ve had several things off the menu and nothing has disappointed. Everything is large and messy - if you take out make sure to grab lots of napkins! Fountain Boylan soda machine is an incredible feature. Edit 4/3/25: I’m officially giving Chat n Griddle their 5th star. I’ve been eating here regularly for the last couple years and I’ve only ever had good experiences. I would recommend everything I’ve had from their menu - see attached pics.

Probably the best bacon egg & cheese ive had in Union county! The breakfast we ordered was delicious and they have tables inside so you can sit down and enjoy your meal. They also have a parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking.

Had an amazing breakfast here while traveling. Highly recommend the Chicken and Waffles!!! Staff was wonderful, helpful, accommodating, and attentive!!!

First time stepping in, thought it looked a little pricey. Got the Matty Ice wrap. It blew my mind. Crispy chicken cutlet, delicious special sauce, touch of bacon - legit one of the best wraps ive had in my life. Worth every penny. The banana bread and crumb cake were so stupidly good. Super moist and tasty. Service was super friendly, im guessing the owner rang us up. Seems like a great guy. Came back two more times for the wraps. This will be a regular spot for me for the foreseeable future!

Delicious food. Love the down to earth vibe. Service was great. Had to wait a bit, but that's to be expected when it's crowded and everything is made to order with fresh ingredients.

Stopped by for a quick brunch on a rainy day and it wasn't too busy. The place is small but charming with a fun menu of options for breakfast and lunch. I ended up getting the pork roll & egg sandwich (aka taylor ham) and it was very filling!

Service and food was fantastic! There was a mistake with my order, but they quickly rectified the issue and the food was delicious! Also they had one of my favorite movies on (Transformers 2) Would recommend!

Definitely a place to stop by , try and savory the delicious food/s! I LOVE the chicken and waffles from here - the waffles are so fluffy; and the chicken is so crispy but moist on the inside. YUM. To top it off - everyone is so nice ! Big portions, so definitely come ready to eat (in your stretchy pants). Absolutely delectable .

Came here for breakfast to try it out and I will say the place is very clean. The food was decent and nothing special, but the service wasn't the greatest. I waited about 25 minutes just to be served one breakfast platter. I also noticed I wasn't the only one that waited a long time for their food as I saw other people asking where there orders were. All in all I give this place a 4 out of 10.

This sandwich was so delicious that my dad and I came by twice in one week! This was enough to share between two and the flavor is on point. The staff were super friendly and also gave some other recommendations for next time. Will be coming again soon! Location is very clean and has its own parking lot.

Delicious!!!!! I'm been meaning to come here since it opened cause I hear amazing things. But I can confirm it lives up to the hype. I don't feel like making my own lunch so I ordered the chatty Matty salad. Pretty sure I'll be ordering this twice a week now. Highly recommend.

I love this place. So mad theyre closed today. Ive been wanting their food since yesterday. But today's a holiday. They should be open 24/7 ;) Every..thing that ive ordered from their menu has been..deliiiiciousss. And the owner is a really respectful person too. You can tell they cook from the heart.

Casual spot. Order at the counter and seat yourself vibe. Employees are helpful and kind. I was blown away at how fresh the food was. I have high standards when it comes to eating out and this place surprised me. Definitely worth a try.

Order spicy chicken sandwich and cutlet vodka sandwich. It was honestly the most west but dry sandwich i've ever had. The amount of sauce on the bread is actually insane and makes it impossible to eat without the chicken literally sliding off. The chicken itself was as dry as a desert. And keep in mind two sandwiches, side of fries, and two fountain drinks were $48 dollars... Wayy too overpriced for a mediocre meal. Fries were kinda good. The ranch was bomb. Cold cut sandwiches looked pretty good though- didn't have one.

Best place I've ever been to. Would rate 10 stars if could. Food tastes amazing. Great service too! Would go again and again and again 100%. (Ps get sweet and salty Taylor)

I think I found my GO-TO place for a yummy breakfast!!! This is a family-run place, great vibes and family oriented. You see families with kids having breakfast. I have to say the first time around I came here I had some eggs + turkey sausage + whole wheat toast (not great) probably my fault though. This time I followed my husband's advice and we both ordered the the bacon, egg & cheese roll and OH MY GOD! It was amazing! The coffee is also pretty good here. Will be coming back soon...

This place has changed hands many times, but this time, they got it right! The menu is very diverse and the food is delicious. You can't be in a hurry since they are sometimes short-handed and they cook to order. Friendly greeting by hostess and good service from wait staff. I have had the Spinach & Feta Omelet several times because I loved it so much. My choice is egg whites, because I like them better. My granddaughter had the Mondo sandwich and had to take 1/2 home. I will definitely continue to come here and recommend it to my friends.

I really don't understand the hype and the 4.9 stars..... I was expecting some amazing flavorful French toast. Hell, I make better French toast at home as an amateur. It literally tastes like thick, soggy cooked bread. There's no flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, nut meg or anything. The ONLY flavor is from the syrup. You're better off eating a slice of dry toast and dipping it in syrup. The portion size for the price is way off. I'm so disappointed and feel like I wasted money.

The chef of this place has a record of creating magic on the plate. Everywhere he's been and everywhere he goes. This is not fast food and it's not a diner. Everything you eat is made to your order. So yes it takes a little longer than a diner or Wendy's for those of you complaining. There are literally no airs about this place so it's helpful if you don't bring yours to the mix. What's over the top extraordinary is the food. It's the best food (breakfast or lunch) I've ever eaten. Cheaper than any diner but 50x better. I hesitate to submit this review bc I want to keep it a secret. But there I did it.

What a great find. After passing this place all the time we finally stopped in. I know why it received 5 stars on YELP. I have to agree. My boyfriend got 3 eggs sunnyside up with potatoes and toast with and a side of sausage. He actually didn't like the sausage but I did. He was expecting links and it was a pretty big slab. I had the chicken, Brie, and fig jam sandwich and was delighted about the formula of it all. Just enough of everything and the bread was charred perfectly. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in because it was one of the only non commercial places I saw on my route to work. I walked in and I was greeted with a welcoming smile and hello. The menu offers a lot of different breakfast and lunch options from omelets to cold sandwiches, soups and hot sandwiches. I ordered a BEC and it was $8.90 which is pretty steep, but it was very good. The inside is simple with tables to dine in but you can also order for takeout. They have a soda machine and a fridge with different juice options including chocolate milk and water. Overall the staff was very nice and my sandwich was tasty !

We have been here a number of times with no issues, however the last two times my wife's scrambled eggs came out cold and we requested dry toast which came out with butter. In addition prices are to high for the service and type of place

Excellent food and service!! Chat & Griddle is an adorable spot for breakfast and lunch. My husband was able to order a meatball sub because the lunch menu is available all day, which we always appreciate. The steak bowl was excellent- high quality steak, perfectly fried eggs, and a delicious chimichurri sauce. I'd highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

This place is amazing! It looks tiny from outside but has a decent amount of tables- had breakfast but would def want to come back and try more options...coffee cake has great crumb to cake ratio- IYKYK :)

The food is delicious and high quality. They make a great turkey sandwich and yummy coleslaw. The chocolate chip cookies are my family's favorite. Love the decor and color. Also, they do great catered food for parties and events.

The food was amazing, great portion size for the price and quality food, you definitely get your dollars worth. The environment is very relaxed and friendly. Overall great place for breakfast/lunch would highly recommend.

We were in the area and wanted a quick bite for breakfast. Chat &Griddle popped up after a quick google search and we're so glad it did. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was honestly probably the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I'm still dreaming about it and can't wait to return to have it again!! My partner had the breakfast platter and opted for pork sausage. I'm not a sausage person but holy cow this was the best sausage patty ever. It was nice and thick and had such good flavor. It definitely didn't taste like the average frozen sausage patties. His parents both ordered breakfast sandwiches and enjoyed it. Inside is small and cute. Service was very good as well. The young men behind the counter were pleasant! Can't wait to come back and try more dishes!!

1,000 stars! I come here at least 4 days a week. I love the food, atmosphere and the menu. Catering is beyond excellent as well. Prices are actually on the lower side for the size and quality of the food. Everything is home made- the soups, the bread, the cookies, chicken cutlets, etc..all hand made and prepped. Frank(the owner) makes all of the breads fresh and my favorite is the corn bread. His corn bread is probably the best in the northeast. I will also say the sourdough bread is delicious! All of the breakfast items are amazing! The food is cooked and presented clean. It is not sitting in oils or loaded with butter. The food is cooked healthy. Any variation of the egg sandwich is big, flavourful and worth the money. I love the veggie egg white wrap or the classic on sourdough. I am a big fan of the French toast with fresh fruit. It is a large order and definitely a must! Also- you must try the coffee! It is super smooth and flavourful. I take mine iced and it is fresh - not watered down. The sandwiches- too many to note- are AMAZING! My favorite is with Brie and Fig. The turkey used in the sandwiches are actual turkey - not turkey deli meet. It makes a huge difference in taste and freshness . Anything with ham is also to die for. I love the soups too- the butternut squash and tomato soups are my favorites. Frank has catered for me and the sandwich's, crab cakes, wings, pastas and turkey dinners have all been hits! Service is excellent and friendly. The restaurant is very clean. Fun music is usually playing of a cool movie to watch. I can not say enough about Chat & Griddle! It is a gem of a place.

Love the food here. It's always incredibly fresh and deliciously made. It's a cozy joint that has consistently great service and food. I always order the steak bowl (bottom left in the photo), and I absolutely love it, but you seriously can't go wrong with any of their menu items. Portions are large so come hungry or be prepared to take some home!

One of my all-time favorite restaurants!!!! Amazing breakfast, brunch, and lunch. A couple of my favorites here are the 2 egg plate (the home fries are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and the bacon and sausage are also so delicious) and the Cali Taylor sandwich. The iced coffee is also great. The staff is lovely! Cannot recommend more!

Not a place it's hyped up to be. Looked like a nice spot for brunch from the outside but the neon green wall threw me off walking in. Can get better coffee at Dunkin and the food was just eh. Too much going on with the menu and the place had no AC. However, service was very friendly. Overall, not super thrilled and probably wouldn't go back.

Very friendly service, accommodating kids' needs and my spicy machinations. The grilled cheese and chicken strip were delicious, and my kids finished everything. The spicy omelete was ok, but the entire order took over 25 minutes to make with the place not being all that busy. The delay is the reason for the 4 star review. If you're not in a hurry, it is 5 stars easily.

The best little hideaway in NJ! Modern, relaxed vibe and a large selection of food items. I can eat breakfast food all day long, and this place has breakfast sandwiches and platters that allow for any breakfast fan to get whatever he/he wants! I had your basic Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese on a roll - roll was so soft, cheese was perfectly melted, and the ham and egg just came off the griddle! Nice and hot! Everything is made fresh, and the owner (who is awesome) came around with homemade fresh-out-of-the-oven banana bread (with chocolate chips) - just because! So nice! And they don't just have breakfast food, they have great sandwiches, too - which look amazing! Can't wait to try them on my next trip! People who work there are really nice, and I appreciate the attention they gave when we ordered to make sure they got our order right.

The chicken and waffles was to die for. So was the French toast. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will be back.

I'm reluctant to rate them because I worry that the wait will eventually catch up to food quality and it will take too long to get a table. Menu is stellar, lots of creativity and fresh takes on breakfast classics. Execution was perfect. Food was fantastic. Got the chicken and waffles - and they even used dark meat chicken. Excellent attention to detail. Well appointed interior. Suspect this place will end up becoming one of those fabled breakfast spots. Keep up the great work.

The French toast and Taylor ham sandwich was excellent - perfect combo of sweet and salty. It comes with eggs too but I didn't have them. My friends had the breakfast burrito, chicken & Waffles and Waffles with fruit. Huge portions, and they enjoyed them. Highly recommended place, and I will definitely be back.

My husband and I couldn't wait to try food at the Chat & Griddle after reading all of the reviews. I thought it was a big diner but it was a quaint little restaurant. I had an awesome pork roll, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fried onions and some sort of sauce on a super tasty roll. He had a caprese omelette and said it was one of the best omelets he has ever had. The sourdough bread was so fresh and perfectly toasted. The potatoes were top notch he said. They were flavorful and crisp. They had a great lunch menu so we have to go back to try many more dishes of theirs!

Not bad. Not the best Taylor ham egg and cheese. But I'm a snob. Wish the bread was crustier. Otherwise pretty good. Ask for well done pork roll.

Stopped here on a whim and ate the most delicious Taylor ham and egg sandwich! Going back regularly. Every time I go it is so busy even though I don't go during prime time meals. I've been noticing a lot of regulars !
