Chat 'N' Chill Beach Bar & Grill

Very cool place to hangout on the beach or under the trees. Has two volleyball courts. A few swings to swing from the trees. Food was good, especially the price. Wonderful relaxing area to hang out. Has much of the old charm.

Had a great time. You need to take the ferry, your own boat, or a jet ski to get there, but once you do, it’s great. I added the ferry guy’s card to the pics attached to this review. It was a little stormy, which kept the mobs of people away. Also, the conch salad guy wasn’t there, so there was no conch salad or the usual mobs of stingrays on the beach awaiting their scraps. But the cook was there, so there was plenty of BBQ, burgers, etc., and the bartender was incredible as well, she kept them coming. It’s a great place to bring friends and family, or make new ones, and just chat and chill with them.

Great clean beach. You can swim and pet sting rays. Food was okay. There is one toilet cabinet, that’s a minus. They have 2 beach volleyball courts. You can bring your ball or you can buy from there for $10 dollars.

Bahamian beach vibes. Great place to hang with the stingrays for the day. The conch salad is delicious. The beach/seating area is full of pine needles so it really hurts to walk around barefoot here.

I love primitive and native and all that, but just a short distance from the beach and Chat 'N' Chill is a horrible trash dump! What a shame and why doesn't the local gov't.do something about this? If this trash is from this restaurant, what a shame to do this to your beautiful island and environment! Please consider a go fund me or fundraiser to help clean up this awful blight!

Chat ‘N’ Chill in Exuma is the kind of beach bar you dream about when you think of the Bahamas. We pulled in with Catamaran Nova and anchored just off the sandbar in that crazy clear turquoise water. The vibe is super relaxed with music playing, cold drinks flowing, and everyone barefoot. Their grilled food hits the spot after a swim, and the famous stingrays cruising the shallows make it even more fun. You can hang out at the tables in the water or chill on the beach with a rum punch in hand. It’s social, lively, but still feels like pure island life. Perfect stop during a sailing day to stretch your legs, meet other cruisers, and soak up the Exuma energy. Every trip through here with Catamaran Nova turns into one of those “this is why we came” moments.

We took a water taxi from Georgetown to get here, which dropped us off on the “back side” of the island. From there, we walked a short cut path to the main area. We found a bar hut and a T-shirt hut, and we were mainly there for the Sunday pig roast. The food was great and lived up to the hype. The beach area was nice with plenty of shady spots if you need a break from the sun. We didn’t try the conch salad hut, but the stingrays they feed were fun to watch. We eventually walked to a more secluded part of the island and relaxed on the beach, enjoying the calm water and sunshine. Our biggest gripe was the bar service and blatant overcharging. We ordered the same drinks several times and each time we were charged different prices. The menu said gratuities were not included, but they put 20% on our first check that was $90 without even mentioning it. When we came back for our next round of just drinks, she mentioned that using your credit card resulted in a service charge (menu said 5%) but when I asked the bartender if that’s how much it was, she said “it depends” and then added 20% as a gratuity and claimed it to be the service charge. Confirm pricing before you pay! The bathroom situation was also rough. The men’s restroom was completely shut down, so all guests had to share the women’s restroom, which only had two stalls. One stall door was off the hinges and didn’t shut let alone lock, the toilet seat was disconnected, and there was no soap. Overall, a great location with beautiful scenery and good food, but some basic operations and consistency need improvement. Especially given how much they charge for everything.

This place is spectacular… if you’re a rat looking for beachfront dining. It just reopened after being shut down by the health department, which tells you everything you need to know. When the phrase “recently cleared of rodents” is part of the marketing relaunch, expectations are already pretty low. Service is basically a theoretical concept here. You’ll see staff occasionally, like a rare bird sighting, but don’t expect interaction. The food? Let’s call it “culinary beige.” Not offensive, just profoundly forgettable. To be fair, the view is fantastic and feeding the stingrays is genuinely fun. Unfortunately, the stingrays seem to eat better than the customers. A flotilla of boaters parks themselves here all day, colonizing the tables like it’s sovereign territory. Finding a seat becomes a full-contact sport, and management appears perfectly content to let the loitering Olympics continue uninterrupted. Bottom line: Great views, cool stingrays… but unless you’re craving mediocre food served with a side of rodent history, this one’s a hard pass.
