Château de Besseuil

A fantastic evening. I had read a number of reviews that were not supportive. We had the four course set menu,and the sommelier’s recommendation. The wait staff who spoke excellent English were excellent. Each meal was perfect. We jad the most relaxing and enjoyable time.

I visited in July of '25 with my family of 4, including 2 teenagers. We stayed in a suite that had a separate room for my kids, a kitchen, sitting room and separate bathrooms, for a price you pay for a one room in Paris. The breakfast buffet is not included, but worth the extra cost. We had dinner at their restaurant one night and were happy with it. My wife had the Arctic Char with pistachio sauce which was well prepared. The chicken filet left a little to be desired as it seemed pressed together. The cheese plate was spectacular and the selection of local wines was nice to see.

We thought we had a reservation in the restaurant for the first night, but this turned out not to be the case so we couldn't dinner in the restaurant. We tried to arrange this by phone that afternoon, but the receptionist was anything but helpful and even unfriendly. No airco in the (beautiful) rooms. Very good breakfast and lovely location.

If you like sleeping in a oven (30 degrees Celsius in the room during the night, no AC, no fan) and enjoy rude and lunatic staff enforcing ridiculous rules (you can get Coke Zero at the bar, but not at the swimming pool, that’s regular Coke only territory. Your kid can only get kid menu, you can not PAY MORE for them to have an a la cart dish, etc…). In short, nice location, but lacking basic sense of service and respect for customers. One time was enough for us

Fantastic place to stay, I wish we had more time here. The staff are wonderful, the food is too, and the wine is amazing. We will definitely be back!

An excellent stopover situated in a beautiful location nestled in the vineyards. Close to the auto route , so very convenient.|Comfortable room, secure parking which was a plus and a delicious dinner, with some local wines. Good value for money and recommended.

We stopped for a night on our way from Carcassonne to Reims and it was the perfect location - great hotel, lovely staff and superb food!

Booking direct was a mistake - we informed them of our intention to arrive at 12 noon, by 2 pm the room wasn’t ready until 4 We emailed a request for kitchen facilities - they were not provided, when they were provided they were minimal. The plates were too large for the dishwasher! Settling the bill was a nightmare, took ages. That said the Chateau is very well set up with nice gardens and accommodation that is spacious and of a high standard. The staff don’t work as a team and when things go wrong don’t expect empathy and definitely no apology.
