Fantastic converted Chateau with stylish eclectic rooms. Great restaurant and warm and friendly staff. Lovely stay whilst celebrating our sons wedding nearby

The place was deserted when I arrived at 5-00pm on monday 23rd June except for fierce looking dogs. After a while of searching a young man appeared & helped to my very nice room but no hot water for shaving the following morning. At about 8-30am the following morning I got a call to say my wife had been taken to hospital .I therefore packed up - no breakfast- & the Manager helped me to my car. He assured me that the Chateau ,under the circumstances, would reimburse me for the remaining 3 days for which I had paid in advance - some Euros 420. Despite 7 phone calls when they just put the phone down & 6 emails there has been no reimbursement. They have no legal obligation to reimburse me but when they tell you they will repay they should do so. Frankly it is dishonest & reflects badly on the Chateau.

The house and park are impressive, need some renovation but have a lot of charme and the owner is very friendly, ||They love dogs and guests should love them as well; We were surprised to see that there were five dogs during the day and three dogs at night. Guests should like to be surrounded by dogs. ||We stayed for two nights (me, my husband and our teenage son) and wanted to recharge and relax after a very exhausting week. But unfortunately, this was not possible. ||We were told beforehand the restaurant would be closed, but we didn’t understand that there was literally nothing to eat. There was no way to spend a day at the chateau, enjoy the spa and the park, because no food was offered, not even a sandwich or a toast.||The pool is nice and big. But neither the sauna nor the jacuzzi worked, and there was no shower. You can’t shower and can’t get dressed in the pool area but must walk through the hotel to shower later in your room. ||There was no room service, the rooms didn't get cleaned during our stay and I was told I should not expect this since the Chateau de Gezaincourt was not a hotel. ||Breakfast is ok but quite simple: Croissants, juice, yoghurt and some pickled fruit. But no baguette or butter or cheese of ham or eggs or anything fresh fruit or tomatoes or… .

I am afraid we only stayed 5 minutes, the welcome was so frosty as to be unbelievable, we were made to feel as if we were intruding, we arrived at 5pm the stipulated time and they were serving a wedding/event late lunch. We had e mailed days earlier and made a request at booking weeks earlier to book a table in the restaurant, no reply received, it was also noticeable that they took the cost of the booking off of my card days before the cancellation date which seemed a little odd.|On arrival we were told restaurant not open but we could go to the nearby town which we had visited and little was open and was a culinary desert from what we could see.|We asked if they could provide a plate of cheese or cold cuts which would have sufficed having driven nearly 300 miles we were met with a "non" we were so appalled we decided to cut our losses and leave, i could not recommend this place to anyone, oh and we were told they had e mailed about the restaurant we are still awaiting its receipt, they clearly have our e mail address as on the 10th we received a receipted bill for our "stay" we also were asked for a review for fellow travellers and to know what they got wrong, i doubt they will have the courage to print it,| I am left feeling as if we have been conned. we ended up going back to Amiens and staying in a Holiday Inn Express where they could not have been more welcoming

Amazing chateau and great experience - we spent three days here on a whim and loved it. We will be back for sure! The staff are great (some have English, some not much), the restaurant (lunch and dinner) was superb, with a seperate well-stocked bar; the room (Héra suite) was phenomenal (very large, airy, well-appointed, comfortable, with great spa for two, seperate bath, seperate amazing shower, and very high speed internet). Highly recommend.
