"The largest property in Pomerol, it is also one of the loveliest, looked-after by the same family for 550 years. Its graceful, Merlot-based wines are among the more affordable in this very expensive appellation of mostly tiny properties and its second wine, Chantalouette, can be a terrific value. A beautiful place with beautiful wines. We had such a lovely time with Sara (I hope that's correct?!) - she made us so welcome and we learned a lot about wine in the Pomerol region. We would recommend this to anyone.

Chateau de Sales is the oldest historical and cultural heritage in the Pomerol region, it is also the winery with the largest area in the past 500 years. The winery run independently by a single family since 150 years, and has always been a member of the Bordeaux Grand Crus Association, the Pomerol wine lovers must not miss it. Its style is inclined to light and elegant red fruit aroma, and the ratio of new wooden barrels perfectly modifies the balance of the wine body. Bonne Visite !!!

What an experience ! I went there with 5 friend from Czech Republic knowing nothing about wine. Our host the sommelier was fantastic and speaking a perfect English. He tailored the experience to our knowledge and really made the difference. Don't get me wrong the place is beautiful and the tour is totally worth it but for the sommelier made the difference. Super nice and open to exchange with us. For 30 euros per head I definitely recommend the wine and cheese experience. It was really eye opening for our group and the we all learned so much. Thank you again for hosting us !

Had a great tour on a Saturday afternoon in July. One of the largest wineries in Pomerol and one of the oldest. Great family history and well-kept property. They keep the tours small, which is nice.

Wonderful tour with Arthur! He is very knowledgable and does a great job of explaining process, history and tasting! The bike ride thru the vineyard is short but fun! Would recommend the trip!

Google
A truly exceptional visit for 8 people of various ages from 18 to 70, with various levels of wine knowledge - we were made to feel extremely welcome at this beautiful family-owned vineyard, with a guided tour of the grounds and facilities, and a tasting of some of their marvellous Pomerol wines - our guide was most convivial and provided a wealth of interesting facts about the chateau, the wine and French wine making in general. I couldn't recommend this tour highly enough - we came away with half a dozen bottles and wished we had space for more!

The chateau is very beautiful although the house is still in use so you cannot see the inside. You do can visit the garden outside with the lake although some parta seem a bit forgotten and not being taken care of very much. The visit of the winery itself was very nice, Manon (hopefully spelt right) explained everything pretty well and she gave us a small training on how to taste wines that was appreciated.

Yelp
Nice winery, available only by appointment. The girl who was serving us the two wines fro tasting was nice, however, not very knowledgeable and therefore we didn't learn anything about the history of the winery. We were in and out within 15 minutes.

Yelp
Came here on an organized wine tour I found in TripAdvisor. Pros: -Charming staff member spoke great English and had a nice sense of humor. We learned a lot from her. -Nice grounds. The garden was a bit over-hyped but it was still very nice. -Wine was great.

Yelp
My wife and I visited this beautiful winery and got a full tour of the grounds and cellars. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, from the terroir to the sorts of birds that were singing overhead. We then tasted two of their 2014 wines, which were quite good. I highly recommend a visit if you're nearby--but remember that you have to schedule the tour ahead of time.

Yelp
Great visit at this pommerol winery. Our guide was very nice, welcoming and she provided excellent insight in the wine making and tasting. The 2010 Chateau De Sales is excellent! If you are looking to tour a winery in Pommerol, go no further, this is the place to go.
