My husband and I stayed here so we could venture into the Verdon Gorge region. The hotel sits on the edge of the region but don’t let that put you off as the views are wonderful of the surrounding hillsides and village below. The food is sublime and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The gorge area is easy to access from the hotel

Absolutely magical experience at Château de Trigance. The setting is breathtaking—watching the sunrise from the castle terrace is unforgettable. Dinner was creative and delicious, with each dish beautifully presented. The atmosphere is both romantic and authentic, with charming medieval touches and modern comfort. Highly recommend for a unique and memorable stay.

A special authentic place. The hotel is located in a real castle on top of a hill – it truly feels like you’re stepping back in time and staying as a feudal lord. A unique and memorable experience. There’s a lovely restaurant, and relaxing shared terrace with loungers and tables. The room was simple and a bit dated, and we were bothered by a strong chlorine and musty smell inside. Breakfast was modest – bread, croissants, cereal, fruit – no hot dishes. Free parking is available, which was very convenient. A stay here is worth it for the atmosphere, if you are not very sensitive to the smells.

We stayed at the hotel and I would like to mention the pleasant staff and the atmosphere at the hotel was an experience! The dinner was special and delicious. The breakfast on the balcony facing the view was both delicious and an experience, highly recommended.

We came across this exceptional place by coincidence, looking for a place to stay near Castellane (where the choice was limited). It is absolutely worth the small detour and the detour itself is of breathtaking beauty. The château offers a relatively small number of bedrooms, all of individual character and medieval charm, whilst having all the modern creature comforts you would expect. Private, secure parking is perfect for anyone driving the Route Napoléon with a classic car. I'm so impressed by the owners who have managed to make such a delightful place of what would otherwise be an austere, medieval building. And now I'll get to the best bit, the restaurant. We had an exquisite meal, the chef's got real talent. I had four pieces of tuna all prepared in different ways, accompanied by different declinations of watermelon (sounds weird but it was truly delicious), followed by a heavenly main of Wagyu beef and a cheese platter. I can't praise the chef enough. Some comments on this site refer to the restaurant as expensive. I would say it's great value. And the setting is unforgettable. And you can have the apéro downstairs in the beautiful vaulted salon, and even enjoy a game of pool in an oval room that even has queues adapted to the difficult angles. Well done guys, this hotel and it's restaurant is an exceptional achievement! And a special mention to the staff and especially the very attentive Hortense (?) who served us at dinner and breakfast.

Our stay at the castle in the French countryside was nothing short of magical. The interior design was authentically regal, making us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. The staff exceeded our expectations, accommodating our every need, including setting up a rollaway bed for our odd number of children with ease. The location was ideal for our canyoning adventures, offering the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The on-site restaurant served amazing food and graciously stayed open late to accommodate our late return. Enjoying drinks and cocktails on the outside deck before dinner was the perfect way to unwind. It was an absolutely perfect stay in every way.

Highly recommend this place for hotel and food! We ate breakfast and dinner here, stayed one night in their junior suite and superior queen. Anna and Hortense were really kind and attentive during our stay. The castle is quite charming. The food was one of the best food we’ve had on the trip! We ordered almost everything on the menu! Portions are quite small but beautifully presented and delicious. Parking for the hotel is around the cemetery - we almost had to traverse the staircase hugging the castle’s cliffside with our luggage until a kind passerby saw us struggle and pointed us in the right direction. There are a few steps to the terrace and some of the rooms.

Yelp
I LOVE this place... in fact love is an understatement here. To be able to dine and stay in an 11th century castle is already an unforgettable experience in itself, but the host was also instrumental in making this visit absolute perfection. Although the host spoke limited English, he was very cordial, genuine, and kind to us and even came in clutch giving us an adapter when we left ours at our last hotel. Also, ALWAYS opt for the dine-in service because not only is it hard to find places to eat around here, but it's worth it. Our dinner was gorgeous and full of fresh ingredients that made you feel both healthy and appreciative of the type of thought that gets put into crafting your dish. And out of all the places we've stayed and had breakfast at (including outside of France), Chateau de Trigance is #1. The breakfast has a basket of bread, your drink preference which they ask the night before (we got big coffees), fresh fruit and yogurt, natural honey made from the village, cheese + meats, etc. A testament to how meticulous this place is in delivering premium service is how they TOASTED all of the breads in your breakfast basket. I was already swooning over this place, but toasting my bread? You've won my heart, Chateau de Trigance, LOL.

Yelp
Lunch in a medieval setting Imagine having lunch (or dinner) in an authentic 11th century castle. In fact, you can also stay as the chateau is also a hotel with a few rooms. Note that the management has changed the focus of the restaurant away from gastronomic and is now offering a limited number of dishes. Obviously, the scenery has remained the same with the pretty village of Trigance below the fortress, close to the renowned Gorges du Verdon. Inside, everything reminds you that you are in an authentic castle (see photos). The place has an overall look of sophistication with carefully selected pieces of furniture. We had duck confit which was served with an assortment of local vegetables and served in large plates beautifully laid out. We also had a plate of southwest specialties generously served (Foie gras, magret fumé,terrine de canard, toast pain aux figues). For dessert we sampled a white chocolate mousse with shaved coconut and sheep milk yogurt with a mango coulis. All this with a bottle of Minuty rose. The service was attentive and timely. The prices are reasonable. By all means, spend the time to visit the castle and admire the views from the panoramic terrace.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night while in Côte d'Azur- we drove into the mountain area for a change of scenery. While there is no air conditioning there were nice breezes over the countryside to keep us cool at night. The bathroom was spectacular. You must have dinner at the Chateau - preferably on the terrace. The staff was excellent - friendly, accommodating, and welcoming.
