I’ll start by saying that, just as I did, you’ll probably be able to get a much better stay in Calistoga in another property for a fraction of the price. ||Despite property descriptions and their website, I did not witness anything luxury about this place, apart from the diner. I was at the property for only a couple of hours but that was more than enough. ||-Photos are a bit deceiving - everything in real life is a lot smaller, especially the pool and bathrooms. I sat down on the toilet and my knees were bumping against the bathroom door. Pool size was not fit for the amount of guests the property can accommodate and looks twice as big in the photos.||-No sound isolation whatsoever. You can hear people sneeze/talk/get changed in the rooms next to yours, no sense of privacy whatsoever. To add to this disaster, each room is operated by a PIN code rather than a key. In our case, rather than showing or handing us the PIN, the host just said the PIN out loud for us to try out from the hallway - the implication being that other people probably heard it and our room was essentially unlocked for everybody. I had more privacy when I lived in student halls at uni than at this ‘’luxury’’ chateau.||-I had a query about our reservation where we initially wanted to stay an extra night at the property, however, it was near impossible to get hold of the property - 3 contact numbers, 2 email addresses and Booking messaging system later, we finally received a 1-sentence response via Booking messenger with the property completely misunderstanding our request and providing the wrong advice which completely paralysed our options when it came to our time in Napa valley. Their attempt to remedy the situation was a bottle of wine - which we explained we’re unlikely to be able to accept as we’re due to catch a flight back and our luggage was already full. No other offers or solutions to rectify the poor customer experience.||Overall, not worth the money, especially considering the service.

While we visited only in winter, it is a very nice hotel, it has its own vineyards and beautiful views of the mountains, and is close to town, where the shops are restaurants are located. People are very nice, breakfast is good. I wish to come back in summer or early autumn, thr vineyard must be georgeous then. It is a bit pricey, but everything is expensive in Nappa I guess. I wish the jacuzzi was working, it would have been nice to look at the vineyard

Google
Service was 10/10! Breakfast was wonderful. Coffee was great. Nelva even came in early on our departure day to get us coffee and wrapped up sandwiches to go. The property was beautiful and well maintained. The home was comfortable and well appointed. Only suggestion I have is bring a noise machine, the hardwood floors carry sound and the air conditioner would turn off mid night and get hot so we had to open a window, no big deal really. Beautiful, accommodating place.

This bed and breakfast was a hidden gem that absolutely made my stay in Napa! It’s tucked away from the road into a beautiful vineyard with an amazing view of the mountains. The service was unmatched — with coffee outside my room in the morning, drinks in the fridge outside, and text access to the manager! The breakfast was served by the manager on the patio, with a view of the mountains, and lovely music — an experience that made me feel like I couldn’t possibly be in California anymore. The rooms were spotless and the bed so comfortable, I did not want to get up. I had such an incredible time at this quiet retreat. I can’t wait to go back!

Google
Lovely small B&B right in the middle of a vineyard, quiet and private just outside the quaint town of Calistoga. We enjoyed a lovely stay in a nice room with great outdoor facilities: spa, pool, extensive deck with table and chairs for viewing the vineyard and mountains. The breakfast was wonderful and extensive. Nelva was an amazing hostess.

Very special and unique place to stay in Calistoga.|Nelva cooked for us amazing breakfast.|We had a local wine and a cheese platter by the pool to toast our anniversary. The Chateau remind us being in France. |We enjoyed our stay in this romantic place.

Google
We had a wonderful stay in Sept 2024!! Nelva and Adilene were both amazing and helpful. We stayed in the King Carriage House Jr Suite and it was perfect. The breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. The setting was beautiful…love walking right into the vineyard! I cannot say enough great things about this property. A hidden gem of Napa Valley! I would stay here again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to any one I know visiting the area.

Google
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Among the vines feel. Intimate and romantic. Nelva was an amazing host. She made us the most romantic and personalized breakfast I've ever had for my wife and I. I can't say enough for how happy we are to stay here for our 1st wedding anniversary. Love it!

Yelp
Except for the staff were very gracious, staying at Chateau de Vie was the worst experience Ive had for the following reasons: 1) Check in was a mess; besides a friendly staff member who let us in, no one was there to help with check in. I called the hotel website number and sent an email about early checkin multiple times and was ignored. 2). The manager was rude to us; we were not given any notice that breakfast ended at 1030 and we arrived downstairs around 1040 to have nothing to eat. For a "bed and breakfast" that boasts it has a lovely "complimentary breakfast when you are ready to wake up," I found that this part of the experience was most disappointing. 3). The power and water went out the Sunday we were there; again, we were not given any notice. When I contacted the manager about breakfast and the power outage they were defensive and did not seem to care. We are not going back; it was a very unfortunate experience.

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a trip to Napa Valley for a birthday weekend getaway. We stayed at Chateau De Vie in Calistoga. We loved our time there. Our host, Nelva, was amazing! She was so warm and authentic, her breakfasts were amazing, definitely left a lasting memory. I came home and the next weekend recreated her poached eggs over prosciutto and asparagus topped with pesto, amazing! The grounds were breathtaking. The town was is very enchanting, looking forward to returning.

Yelp
It was a great quite place to kick off our 20th. The staff was amazing! I liked how there was access to the main house but our room was in a private villa.

Yelp
My wife and I had an incredibly positive experience on her birthday. We were treated really well by the entire staff at Chateau de Vie, and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Breakfast was perfect, both the food and the friendly service. And the location was perfect for exploring the area -- including the Old Faithful Geyser, the vineyards and wineries, the petrified forest, and the spas in Calistoga. We'll definitely return to CDV in the future. In the meantime, we'll appreciate this sublime memory. Thank you!

Yelp
I am seriously appalled at this bed and breakfast! I was so looking forward to staying here but I will not be. I took a look at the site and just had some general questions because it seems that a lot of B&Bs have changed things since the pandemic. For example many no longer serve breakfast but instead give you a voucher to a local restaurant. The evening wine is no longer offered or just a box of cheese and wine bottle. I called in to ask those questions and from the beginning the person who answered was extremely rude. I am assuming he is the owner as he he asked if I had visited the website. I said yes but that I just had some basic questions still. I tried asking about the breakfast and right away he said well its all on the site and didn't really give me a chance to ask my real question. And the he says well have you ever stayed at a bed n breakfast or in Napa Valley (which is so condescending) and I said yes many times in Napa but not Calistoga. He goes "well it's all the same. I am confused as to what you are asking". And then I tried to ask about the wine service in the evening and again he asked if I have ever been to a B&B. Which is so unbelievably rude. He didn't even let me speak before just staying it's all on the site and going on about how it's been done the same way for 25 years but different than other B&Bs (which is why I was asking). Then he had the audacity to say "well I am confused as to what you are asking, it's written in plain English". As soon as he said that I said "ok thanks" and hung up. Unbelievable! I have never had such a terrible experience like that before. I think he assumed I was an uneducated, not well traveled person. I have been to Jamaica, New York, Napa, Sonoma, Mexico and so many other US states and never been treated like that. So disappointed because I was deciding between this B&B and another and will not be staying here. And will definitely tell my friends and family to never stay here either. Thought I would add in I called two other B&Bs and both were fabulous and answered all of my questions. One even acknowledged that there is some misinformation about what they offer out in social media or other booking sites. What they used to offer pre-pandemic has changed but not all sites reflect that. Each one does things slightly different but both sound like great options. Will definitely recommend them.

Yelp
High marks for the Chateau de Vie! Located in Napa Valley adjacent to numerous wine tasting destinations, personable owners Felipe and Peter, roll out the hospitality red carpet at this extremely charming boutique, bed and breakfast. Chef Felipe's culinary skills are on display every morning with a top notch breakfast on par with, and often surpassing, the meals enjoyed at nearby highly acclaimed restaurants. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I particularly enjoyed the privacy of our carriage house, nestled among the vines which the owners/vintners use to produce award winning Cabernet Sauvignon. I also relished having the lap pool to myself in the early afternoon. This is definitely one of the best bed and breakfast destinations in Napa. I would definitely return.

Yelp
This place a hidden gem in Calistoga. Conveniently located a few minutes north of downtown Calistoga it is a perfect place where to sit back and relax after a day of wine tasting and sightseeing. The staff is extremely attentive and very respectful of your privacy. Wake up to an amazing homemade breakfast and a great cup of coffee. The swimming pool is perfect if you were to stay during the warmer months. Go into town pick up some cheese and bread and sit alongside the pool area. What else can I say about this hidden gem? The 5 star review ahould say it all.

Yelp
If I could give Chateau de Vie 10 stars I would. Oh how I miss it. My husband and I stayed here for our 5 year wedding anniversary the end of July 2021 per recommendation of our friends, it did not disappoint at all. Peter & Felipe made us feel right at home. We have not felt so welcome and relaxed in so long. The breakfasts on the back patio overlooking the vineyards were amazing. My husband and I also enjoy running. We enjoyed running through the vineyard each morning...such surreal memories we will never forget. Thank you Felipe & Peter for giving us an outstanding week to cherish we cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
I left Chateau de Vie wondering to myself if its owners Felipe and Peter even bother going on holiday elsewhere as their property feels like heaven on earth. The grounds are simply magnificent, and the food they prepared for us was better than of any other place we dined at in the area. Chateau de Vie has anything and everything you'd desire in a perfect vacation. From the tastefully decorated living/reading room, complete with diverse books, magazines, and DVDs --as well as inviting fireplace and cozy seating, to the well-maintained pool area with several lounge chairs, restful spaces abound. My husband and I spent the past weekend at Chateau de Vie with eight of our friends. Our group of 10 rented out the entire property which only added to our enjoyment. Felipe and Peter could not have been more hospitable, and they were so helpful in working with us prior to arrival to create a Saturday itinerary entailing winery visits and a delightful picnic lunch. We had a sweetly memorable time and already look forward to a return visit. Thank you, Felipe and Peter, for such an enchanting stay!

Yelp
What a gem Château de Vie is. Peter our host was very attentive and brought us the most delicious breakfast in the morning. The view from our room opened up into the vineyard. Literally the vines were 10 feet away from our french doors as seen in the picture uploaded....epic! The bed was super comfortable and the room spotless. I highly recommend for relaxing getaway.

Yelp
Updated review: The hotel called and explained they were having issues setting up their phone lines as they transitioned to the new ownership. Hopefully we'll get to stay there in the future!

Yelp
My fiancé (now husband) and I got married on 9/16/16 at chateau de vie. It was the most magical experience we've ever had. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay and get married. This is more like a 5 star boutique hotel. We've stayed at many 5 star hotels around the world and chateau de Vie is the one we would want to return to year after year. We stayed at the carriage house, which opens up to the winery and the view is just breathtaking. It's in a private area and detached from the main house. Inside is clean, modern, and we loved sitting on the deck and just going for walks through the winery at dawn and sundown. We woke up every morning to coffee already left outside our door. Then at 9am we had the most delicious gourmet breakfast made by top chef Philip outside our room facing the winery. There were wine and cheese in the afternoon and you can just sit on the patio and sip on a glass of chateau de vie Cabernet and listen to the sound of fountain in the back area of the house. Philip and Peter were the most gracious, kind, amazing hosts and made our stay an unforgettable experience. We loved chateau de vie so much we already made reservations for 2017 to go back. Thank you Philip and Peter and we will be coming back to chateau de Vie every September for our anniversary! Behshad and Marjan, married at chateau de Vie 9/16/16

Yelp
Amazing. Absolutely recommend this B&B! Proposed to my GF on NYE and spent the day tasting in Napa to celebrate and ended our day at Chateau De Vie. The host welcomed us and treated us warmly. Before know about the proposal we were upgraded to a room with a better view of Mt St Helena. He recommended an amazing restaurant for dinner. The beds were soft and comfortable and the food was simply delicious. Will absolutely be coming back in the near future.

Yelp
Wow! Just wow! My boyfriend and I spent the evening here while attending an event at one of the local wineries. Everything at CDV is impeccable and the attention to detail is outstanding! We stayed in the carriage house which had beautiful vineyard views and was so private and quiet. It was also lovely and tastefully decorated and included a cozy fireplace. From the moment we arrived the service was outstanding, warm, friendly, and inviting. We were served a yummy wine and cheese welcome snack and breakfast was beyond our expectations. By far one of the nicest bed & breakfast experiences we have had! We can't say enough good things about our experience here!! Perfect for a romantic evening away!!

Yelp
If I could give this place 6 stars I would! It's beautiful, peaceful, and the breakfast is to die for. Peter and Phillip bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and have a memorable experience. Did I mention it's on a vineyard and their wine is some of the best I had in Napa. I proposed here and Peter arranged everything for me and made it perfect! If you are on a strict budget there are hotels in the area, but if you want something to remember, kick back and relax and enjoy the company, consider the CDV.

Yelp
Where or more importantly how do I begin to describe this absolutely amazing B&B in Calistoga which is located in the Northern region of Napa Valley, CA. My wife, myself & another couple visited in December of 2015 right after Christmas so it was pretty cold, but the four of us didn't care, we were on a mission that week, a drinking mission! We did really good too, LOL! The minute we walked in we were greeted by Phillipe & Peter in their warm, cozy living room with a nice warm fireplace that was a great start to our stay. Our hosts were so gracious to help, got us settled right away & immediately Phillipe got us a nice tray of cheese, crackers, grapes, & of course an excellent bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon to go with it. We didn't spend much time at the B&B that is situated in the middle of a beautiful vineyard as the produce their own line of wines, which are phenomenal by the way because we were out roaming around most of the week. However when we were there it was really nice & our hosts went out of their way to make sure our accommodations were perfect! The best part of our stay is that Phillipe is an amazing chef & cooked us some of the best breakfast meals I've ever had anywhere, period! He is an outstanding chef & we are all going to definitely come back during harvest season when the climate is much warmer to truly enjoy this exquisite home! Thank you both very much for your hospitality & outstanding establishment, you are truly the closest to perfection in my opinion! Overall Rating: A++++

Yelp
Absolutely Amazing!! The ambiance and personal attention to every detail is more like Than anyone could expect!!! The chefs delicious creations were 5 star quality with fresh ingredients and superb flavor. The grounds are perfect!! Waking up in a vineyard is a fairytale come true. Thank you so much for a memorable experience We will definitely be back!!! Cheers

Yelp
Outstanding!! 6 stars! Thank you Peter, Felipe, Eddie. Amazing staff, amazing facility, amazing service. I can't say enough great things about this special place in calistoga. Took my girl on a 3 day weekend get away. If you are looking for a beautiful bed n breakfast, located on a gorgeous vineyard, away from traffic, city lights, and tourists, you have to stay here. I didn't want to write a review because they might become more popular and charge more per night, which I would gladly pay. You will not find another BnB with gourmet breakfast coffee and OJ every morning. At your own time, and not specific hours of the day. Cheese platters and wine in the evenings. Do yourself a favor, if you are looking to impress your hina, or out with fam, the girls, whatever..you want to visit napa? Book here. I'll give you your money back if you aren't sarisfied.. It's that great.

Yelp
Phillip and Peter are welcoming and gracious hosts who made sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay. The homemade breakfasts are unbelievably good from the fluffy stratta to the undescribably delicious scones. We found a gem and a place to return to. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Yelp
Had a great time! Peter & Phillip really went out of there way... The room was beautifully decorated and the breakfast was delicious! Hopefully will be back soon.

Yelp
This is my second time staying at this property. My wife and I stayed here a year ago and we were so eager to come back and stay again. I was worried that the second time around would not be as good, but I was wrong. Peter and phillipe did a fabulous job attending to every detail. The breakfast they serve is a world-class. They even remembered that we adhere to the gluten-free diet and made us breakfast to accommodate us every day. Don't forget the wine and cheese in the afternoon and full-time concierge level service for all of your needs including dining and other reservations. Best of all the property is absolutely gorgeous, immaculately maintained, and perfectly located. Add to that the guys who run this place really are class acts and need to be commended on running such a fine operation. If I could leave any tip for you it is plan ahead and secure the Carriagehouse. If you want to little bit of privacy in the bed-and-breakfast scene, this is the way to go for sure. Imagine coffee on your private terrace in a vineyard. A real Vineyard that is, and we even have a bottle of wine to prove it! Go, you wont be sorry you did

Yelp
This place is a total gem. Book it and you won't regret it. Just assume everything is comfortable, it's on a beautiful vineyard, the rooms are great and the service is on point. Let's talk about the lagniappe you might not gleam from their website. Breakfast: the real deal. This is a full on homemade breakfast. Be ready to eat. Coffee: great brew. I think made just for the CDV. Available early Wine: Free wine in the afternoons. Phillip and Peter are happy to crack open a bottle Cheese: We were relaxing on the deck and Peter totally sneak attacked us with a fruit and cheese tray. Drinks: sodas and bottled waters. Water bottle: we got 2 little water bottles that we could refill throughout the trip. Nice souvenirs. Wifi: yep. they have that Repeat CDV...absolutely. I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Yelp
There is not enough stars to give to this place. From the beginning to the end this is a piece of heaven. Peter and Phillip are wonderful hostess , the breakfast was amazing, Phillip is a great chef. When we got to this B&B Peter showed us around and gave us a great welcoming. We felt very comfortable right way. Our bedroom was very clean, comfortable and modern look. The views to the winery are amazing. And there is a lot more, the speeds at the afternoon accompany by wine and the common areas with a fireplace and beautiful music. Job well done Peter and Phillip. And of course there is Marcell

Ray G.

Yelp
Amazing experience. Peter and Philip are gracious and caring hosts that pay attention to every detail. The grounds were immaculate and the breakfast was incredible. I wish I could give more than 5-stars for this rating. The vineyard was right outside our Carriage house door, which made for a wonderful evening stroll through the vineyard. Thank you Peter and Philip.

Yelp
This is my 6th time going to Napa and I thought it never gets better until I stayed at CDV. This was the most relaxed and enjoyable stay I had in a long time. The service that Phillip, Peter, and Eddie gave us was exemplary. I loved the homemade muffins that Phillip baked every morning. The breakfast was outstanding, especially while eating outside with the vineyards surrounding us. We had the privilege to stay at the King Carriage House Jr Suite located in front of the first row of vines of the vineyard. For wine lovers, it can't get any better. We felt at home and even felt spoiled like royalty. I would also give CDV 6 stars if the rating system can go that high.

Kerry M.

Yelp
Spent 2 nights at CDV and can't wait to go back. It's the perfect place if you are traveling with multiple couples or a large family. Phillip, Peter and Cathy were gracious hosts and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Want to watch the World Cup? No problem, the living room was transformed. Want a fantastic running route? Phillip will hook you up. Prefer to eat at the Chateau? No worries, a gourmet meal can be arranged. We will definitely be back.

Sarah J.

Yelp
We stayed one night here and it was amazing! We are going to come back for a full weekend! The Chateau is very clean, nicely decorated, and has beautiful views. The owners, Cathy, and the sweet dog were the most gracious hosts. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING especially the scones! The hospitality felt like we were visiting family. We loved our stay very much! You won't be disappointed if you book here!

Yelp
What an amazing piece of real estate managed by Peter and Phillip. The Chateau de Vie is located in a prime location near Calistoga, but on the way to Alexander Valley. Peter and Phillip made this visit so amazing. They are so accommodating and gracious, offering their house wines all day and night for free, prepping a cheese platter for us at a moments notice (free) and giving helpful hints about the town for dinner (they charged $10 dollars for this. lol). We even purchased a bottle of their Chateau de Vie Cabernet (not free). On a serious note, this property is tremendous! You can be swept away on a romantic getaway, or you can take over the house with a group of friends. The architecture and landscaping are great. The rooms open up to a nice vineyard in the backyard. A nice sized deck provides a tranquil setting for drinking vino and staring off in the distance at endless grapevines. Take a nice stroll among the grapes in the evening with a bottle and a blanket. There is a hot tub onsite, a great breakfast included and an endless library of interesting reads. I highly recommend this bed & breakfast.

Yelp
More of a luxurious stay with great friends than B&B. Five-star service, five-star food, & five-star accommodations/grounds. I'd give it ten stars if I could! This is THE perfect place to stay when visiting Napa Valley; this place far exceeded every one of my expectations! Where to begin? The Chateau is this beautiful home with gorgeous ivy growing all over it. It just oozes charm at every corner. There is no detail left behind or disregarded. From the usual B&B guest books, the CDV water bottle gifted to you, the cookbooks carefully sitting in their dining area, the many magazines & newspapers all available for you, the perfect 'outdoor' wine glasses from govino to enjoy the daily free wine from 3-7pm, the outdoor seating area framed for you to fully enjoy their vineyard and mountain views, the pool to cool off in when it gets too warm, to the beautifully manicured gardens and grounds. It's such a beautiful house that feels like home. And their deck out back was so cozy with breathtaking views of vineyards and mountains. It was wonderful having our breakfast out there every morning. The owners, Peter & Phillip, are warm, friendly, accommodating, and BEYOND helpful! Phillip was essentially being my travel guide, helping me with winery & restaurant reservations and suggestions BEFORE we even arrived. He is extremely helpful! And you get the feeling that he thoroughly enjoys helping you. That he WANTS to help you enjoy your time. That he ENJOYS being there for any need you may have. I've worked in the service industry and it can be hard. I always feel bad asking people for too much, especially when I can figure it out for myself. But Phillip is so kind, he insists on helping you. So thank you Phillip, thank you for your patience and help from the minute we booked our stay to the minute we had to leave your beautiful chateau. Peter was also extremely helpful and friendly! We were going to have a picnic, so he got forks & knives (the real stuff, not plastic), napkins, even offered a cooler for any wine we may have. He gave us maps and outlined an itinerary based on what we said we may want to do that day. And every afternoon, after a day of wine tasting & eating, Peter & Phillip would ask about our day, genuinely listening to our thoughts and feedback. How refreshing. Staying here and being around them and listening to them talk to other guests, you can tell they really enjoy what they do. Which makes visiting with them and staying here all the more enjoyable. It's infectious in the best possible way. The food; my goodness the food is unbelievably amazing. I don't know if Phillip is a chef or he just has a talent with food, but every breakfast was simply amazing. Beautiful creations of fresh pastries and breakfasts. It was all VERY GOURMET! I'm a foodie (like the kind that enjoys good food, not the kind that knows every chef), and this food was NOT your typical B&B food. It was as if we were dining in a gourmet restaurant every morning. But in the comfort of their beautiful chateau, sitting on their beautiful deck, enjoying their beautiful views. And we can't forget Phillip's 'barista' Peter; he makes one mean cappuccino! We couldn't get enough, we'd order two every morning! We're from Seattle, so we're a bit of coffee snobs, but his cappuccinos were divine. It was the perfect way to start each morning; a breakfast of pampering. We wished they could cook us every meal! Their breakfasts were better than most the meals in these 'high-end' restaurants nearby!! Also, there's fresh cheese & fruit plates personally provided in the afternoons; ahhh! :) We had only one option for the room, so we had the room that had a bathroom across the hall. It was a bit of a pain, but P&P provided plush robes that helped make the trek across the hall workable. Next time, I'm booking my stay MUCH earlier to get a in-room bath. The bed was actually really comfortable and the pillows were comfy and fluffy. Perfect! We actually got a good night's sleep, whereas many times in B&B's and even hotels you don't feel comfortable. The luxury doesn't end there; they even have L'Occitane bath products! My husband now only wants to use L'Occitane shampoo and conditioner! ;) I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend anyone visiting to stay here! There REALLY is no other comparison! Unless you're thinking of staying in a comparable hotel, but then you'd end up spending $500+/night - and that's just crazy! If I have one gripe, it'd be that I felt we couldn't NOT have breakfast and that we didn't have the freedom to skip out if we were tired. But that just goes to show that P&P are so attentive! What more can you ask for?! P&P totally spoiled us. I don't think I can stay at another B&B, ever. I'm not sure I even want to stay at another hotel because it just won't be the same as staying here. It's really the best and blend of staying at a luxury hotel, a B&B, and staying with friends. It's like getting pampered at your friends' luxury estate!

Yelp
Best B&B my husband and I have ever experienced. Gracious and warm hosts, great wine, amazing food, outstanding in every way. Property and house are gorgeous, and we wished we could have stayed longer!!! So many good things to say about CdV that I don't even know where to begin... No other establishment comes close in service and comfort. Stay here, you will NOT regret it!!! Definitely a highlight of our trip. Thanks Peter and Phillip!!!

Mars C.

Yelp
My husband and I could not have enjoyed our stay more. Waking up to stunning views along with Felipe's carefully hand crafted breakfast made our trip all worth while. Peter and Felipe were so welcoming and willing to offer help with anything we needed. The wine and cheese afternoons were very enjoyable, especially when Marcel came around to saying hello to us. I would recommend Chateau de Vie to anyone seeking to have a relaxed and stress free getaway. Great job Felipe and Peter. We will be back.

Yelp
Normally, my husband & I stay at Cottage Grove Inn. I wanted to try somewhere new in Calistoga and OMG I'm so glad I wanted to venture outside my comfort zone. Absolutely amazing! I'm so happy I did, even my husband, whom isn't the biggest fan of B&Bs - was blown away. I love my baby, but shoot...If I could afford to get away every weekend...this is the spot. Thank you Philip and Peter for making our first night away as parents memorable.

Yelp
My boyfriend picked this B&B to purpose to me!!! This is one of the most romantic places I have ever been, not only because of the scenery, but also because of the outstanding service provided by Philip and Peter. I would highly recomend this amazing B&B to anyone!!! I will for sure be back!

Yelp
I took a trip to the Chateau de Vie with my boyfriend and just LOVED my stay there. The B&B is beautiful and is not one of those places with big floral patterns everywhere -- but it updated and tasteful. I also loved our room which looked right out onto the vineyard. The vineyard was green, the sun rise was yellow, and the St. Helena mountains in the background looked purple and it was so beautiful. Also, their breakfast is included and was fantastic! The owners have a French Laundry signed menu on the wall, so you know the guy is a real foodie. We had a spinach, mushroom, and red pepper fritatta with a homemade yogurt and oatmeal side. It was all very tasty and good. :)

Yelp
The boyfriend and I just returned from a two-night stay at the Chateau de Vie and it was perfect. It is everything you hope for from a B&B, and more. The decor is modern and tasteful while still being extremely comfortable and inviting. Our room (were were on the third floor) was spacious and perfectly appointed. Usually when you go somewhere, you can pick out things that you would do differently, but not here. Every detail is considered and we lacked for nothing. Breakfast was awesome both days. Phillip is a man who has perfected the poached egg which is quite the feat. Tasty and healthy. Whoever would have thought I would love breakfast without bacon? That's right, no bacon...and I loved it! Phillip and Peter are the perfect hosts. They provide everything you need and do it in a way that makes you feel like you are welcome and a friend they are happy to host. From breakfast to afternoon wine and hors d'ouevres to late-night wine in the hot tub, the experience is relaxing, beautiful and luxurious. Read the book in your room when you get there. It explains everything you want to know about your stay at the Chateau and will set you up to have your dream weekend.

Yelp
This place is outstanding. Peter and Philip are great hosts. There are so many reviews so I'll be brief...immaculate rooms and property, the best breakfast ever, great wines, snacks and hot tub! We stayed in the carriage house for a little privacy...worked perfect because we had our 10 month old baby. We will definitely be back next year. LOVE CDV. PS: we are ordering a case of their wine when we get home.

Yelp
My wife and I visited Chateau de vie for just one evening last weekend and were extremely pleased. We couldn't get enough of the views out our room windows. The house is not old, built in the 80's and remodeled a few times since already. Our room had a queen bed, full bathroom, a ceiling fan, an ipod alarm clock, an arm chair, and the guys will adjust your bedroom temperature to your preference upon check-in. Coffee carafes and hot water for tea is placed just outside your door by 7:30 in the morning. Complimentary wine was available anytime for self service in the dining room and plastic wine cups were offered for taking out to the pool area. The gardens are beautiful, surrounded by their private two-acre vineyard which provides a limited availability 'house wine' for visitors. If you enjoy running during your vacations, as I do, ask about a suggested route. I had only a half hour to run and was directed on a 3.75 mile run through several neighborhood vineyards. It was absolutely breathtaking to run in the wine valley, with views of the mountains in the near distance. Our only wish is that we would have stayed more days at this location, rather than at different places each night. The owners, Peter and Phillip, provide excellent service to their guests. My wife and I will be back to the area in May of 2012 and hope to find availability at this B&B during our stay.

Yelp
Places like this, and people like Peter and Phillip, completely justify the importance of research and reading reviews prior to traveling. If you've made it to this review, and you are even slightly thinking about staying at a bed and breakfast in the Napa Valley area, then you can stop your search for where to stay. We had very high expectations from reading reviews when we arrived, and can safely say they were exceeded. The accommodations, gourmet breakfast, and hosts were all beyond what we could've imagined.

Yelp
Amazing stay! Not only the property is gorgeous, the whole experience here was unforgettable. Thank you so much Peter and Phillip for making our trip most memorable. They were so nice and friendly yet very professional. Also, the breakfast here was amazing. I would come back here just for Phillip's homemade scones & muffins with homemade jam.

Yelp
The Chateau de Vie was gorgeous. Thank you Peter and Phillip, you were fabulous. They accommodated every need we had. They have raised the bar forever. I will never want to stay anywhere else again, We came to Calistoga for a pampering weekend with girlfriends and was pampered to the nine. I will never forget this weekend. I have already recommended to my colleagues. Chateau de Vie will see again.

Yelp
I would highly highly recommend staying at this luxurious B&B. Definitely 5 star service, meals, accommodations and grounds. One of my favorite places I have ever stayed at in area. Every detail is captured and you are treated better than family. Peter and Phillip are so sweet, generous, accommodating and beyond helpful. (They have a sweet dog as well,Marcel, for you dog lovers.) These people are genuinely sweet and love making sure you have the most memorable trip. I will be visiting again with my family and friends and renting out the entire B&B. This is the type of experience that hotels, motels and other B&B should be striving for. Thank you again Philip and Peter for making my weekend one that I will never forget. Cheers.

Yelp
Love this place. Initially we were just planning to stay for one night in napa valley for our wine tasting tour but we love chateau de vie and decided to extend our stay. A true experience staying in a vineyard bed and breakfast while enjoying wine tasting around the nearby winery. This place offer a 5 stars hotel qualities. Quality choice of designer's furniture, comfortable bed, best breakfast and great friendly owners Peter and Philip. We enjoyed the daily complimentary wine n cheese too.

Yelp
Sis-in-law and bro-in-law went here when they visited from Japan. Saw their pcitures and had to check it out. So my husband and I booked our get away to celebrate our anniversary. We loved everything about Chateau de Vie. The owners, the food, the place and of course, their wine! We already want to go back when the grape leaves turn orange this time.
