Chateau de Vignée (Rochefort, Namur) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Château de Vignée, an 18th-century manor and farmhouse in the Ardennes, is a perfectly lovely place, a red-brick castle whose turrets evoke storybook adventures. Inside, it’s surprisingly contemporary, its rooms and suites presenting a soothingly sedate vision of modern luxury. What elevates it into something extraordinary is the presence of its restaurant, Arden, where chef Marius Bosmans, a veteran of some of Belgium’s finest kitchens, prepares dishes crafted from vegetables grown in the hotel’s own greenhouse. A small spa by the banks of the Lesse provides further avenues for relaxation, and the landscape is ripe for exploration." - Tablet Hotels

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Château de Vignettes. Just a short drive from the capital, it’s the ideal escape for a relaxing weekend. The setting is stunning, peaceful, and full of charm. The wellness facilities are top-notch — a real hidden gem! The restaurant was amazing, with refined dishes and an excellent wine pairing that elevated the entire experience. Do plan any spa or treatment sessions in advance, as they fill up quickly. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind in elegance and tranquility.

One day, I would be able to book a room here. For now, each time I checked it was fully booked. And that's tells you also something positive about the place, right? I've been there for the wellness, the restaurant and venue. Oh man.... What a great experience for the soul Beautiful venue, close to a forest or walking path, and to a "moestuin", with views to the nature with peace and calmness.... It depends what you look for but... If you value peace, nature, quality and the venue; this is definitely your place.

Château de Vignée is a stunning retreat located away from busy roads. The beautiful grounds, filled with flowers and wildlife, create a peaceful setting. The rooms are both elegant and cozy. The dining experience is fantastic, although the food may take a little while to arrive. The restaurant’s atmosphere enhances every meal. Additionally, guests can enjoy the spa, bar, and swimming pool for ultimate relaxation. The staff are exceptionally friendly, particularly the gentleman at the entrance, who makes you feel right at home. Overall, this hidden treasure offers comfort and tranquility. I can’t wait to return for a leisurely getaway.

My second stay at Chateau de Vignée will also be my last as my experience was far from 5*. I stayed solo, on a stopover on a roadtrip and I booked the hotel specifically as I wanted to try Arden, their 1* Michelin restaurant. ||I booked directly on their website with the dining experience package.||My verdict as an experienced 5 star traveller is that this hotel does not live up to the level of a 5 *. ||First impressions are ok, but the devil is in the detail!||What I liked:||1. The welcome drink||2. Design of the lounge and restaurant Arden||3. The overall dining experience at Arden||||Areas for improvement:||1. Add the adequate photo of a Lesse room ( the one with the tiny cell like window) so you avoid people being disappointed with the room||2. Work on sound isolation as the hotel is surrounded by highways and roads and you can hear the traffic everywhere ||3. Reception staff is courteous but not exactly hospitable , rather cold and hautain. When you have a comment they immediately go into the defensive and do not care about the comfort of their guests||4. My mattress was placed the wrong way up; my head was on the feet end ( see attached photo) and when i mentioned this to the staff they kept to their POV that this was supposed to be like that. They couldn’t care at all that I had back pain as a result. ||5.Sommelier at Arden gave the wrong explanation about what is a rosé de saignée champagne, when you serve a champagne buffet with 2 rosé champagnes in it, thats a bit disappointing and unworthy of a Michelin star establishment.||6. The wellness was not as clean as expected, especially the doors of the hanmam had seen better times and the water in the pool was cloudy.||7. Breakfast at 45€ was disappointing. I couldn’t eat most of my order as my egg was too runny ( though I had specifically requested the egg white not to be runny) & the avocado was overripe ) nobody enquired if I liked it , nobody came to even clean the table.

I found breakfast disappointing in terms of diversity and staff lacks attention to detail (bringing the wrong order, and later forgetting separate order). If you are looking for an exceptional breakfast experience I would rather recommend the Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp and the Reylof Pillows Hotel in Ghent. Especially the latter hits the sweetspot of location, quality, service and price

Our stay at Château de Vignée was an absolute disappointment, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quality experience. For a so-called 5-star hotel, the level of service and accommodations were shockingly poor—worse than any budget chain like Ibis, which we would strongly advise avoiding at any price.||Room Disaster from the Start| • Upon arrival, we were placed in a room that had a thin, interior connecting door to another guest’s room. It was so poorly insulated that we could hear every single noise, from conversations to sneezing. For a supposedly luxurious hotel, this was absolutely unacceptable.| • After raising concerns, we were moved to a tiny, cramped room, far from what you would expect at this price point.| • The balcony door had such a severe draft that cold air poured into the room all night. The hotel’s solution? A makeshift rubber stopper—which, of course, did nothing to help.||Unlivable Conditions & Forced Early Departure| • The worst part of our stay was the overwhelming smoke coming from the hotel’s property. It filled the air to the point that sleeping was nearly impossible. It was so bad that we had to leave after just one night, even though we had originally booked four.| • When we brought this issue to the hotel’s attention, they refused to take responsibility and still charged us a cancellation fee—even though our early departure was entirely due to their failure to provide an adequate stay.||The Only Positive? The Staff.||To be fair, the staff were polite and professional, but unfortunately, no amount of kindness can compensate for such poor accommodations and complete disregard for guest comfort.||Final Verdict||This hotel is nowhere near 5-star quality. The rooms are poorly designed, the conditions are unacceptable, and the management is completely indifferent to guest experience. Save yourself the frustration and stay literally anywhere else.||________||Une expérience décevante – Loin d’un hôtel 5 étoiles||Seul point positif : la nature magnifique et le personnel agréable.||Malheureusement, le reste de notre séjour a été catastrophique :| • Chambres mal isolées, on entend tout des voisins.| • Froid dans la chambre à cause d’un courant d’air venant de la porte du balcon, solutionné par une cale inefficace.| • Fumée envahissante venant de l’hôtel, rendant la nuit impossible à dormir.| • Départ anticipé à cause de ces conditions, mais l’hôtel a quand même facturé une nuit supplémentaire.||Un hôtel qui se prétend 5 étoiles mais qui n’offre même pas le confort d’un établissement basique. À éviter.

A jewel in a country side. This castle is a real gem. The place is great and so quiet. An invitation to relax enjoying all spa facilities. Rooms are very nice and clean. Staff is more than professional. They know what service mean leading it to excellence. The restaurant Arden is the place to go when looking for perfection not only for the quality of the menu but also the service. They bring you to another summit. The breakfast is very good and products are mostly coming from the region. For a gourmet, this place is a must.

Chateau de Vignee offers more than just an ordinary stay – it’s a comfortable mix of luxury and relaxation. I appreciated the laid-back atmosphere during our two-night visit. From the unusual but amazing ambient music (mostly rock) to the friendly and attentive staff, the experience was enjoyable throughout.||On our first night, which happened to be our anniversary, we dined at their acclaimed Michelin-star restaurant, Arden. The tasting menu was excellent, featuring local ingredients that really stood out. It started with a set of snacks that ended up being the highlight of the meal. While the rest of the menu was very good, those little bites were particularly memorable.||Breakfast was simple but focused on quality, which was a nice way to start the day.||We stayed in a superior room with garden access, which was convenient for our pup’s morning and evening routines. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, though the door insulation could be better as we could hear guests passing by on their way to the spa.||The location is ideal for getting away from city life, offering the chance to unwind and enjoy nature. The snowfall during our visit added a magical touch, letting us enjoy the spa with beautiful winter views and wake up to a peaceful snowy scene.||If you’re looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway, this place is a great choice.||Thank you to the team for making our stay so pleasant!

This restaurant is featured in Guide Michelin. We just stopped by for a quick bite and they opened up the kitchen earlier than scheduled to give us a very nice entrée and a very good steak. Kudos for the nice service!
