Chateau de Villette is a beautiful, luxurious and welcoming bed and breakfast with wonderful hosts.|Catherine and Coen have created a fabulous retreat that is perfect for couples and families with grown up children. The suite we stayed in (Chambolle Musigny) had two very large bedrooms, immaculately appointed and combining antique furniture with calming French flair. The suite has extremely comfortable king-side beds (dressed in The White Company linen), with floor to ceiling windows that open onto a dreamy view of the gorgeous gardens and the Burgundian countryside beyond.|All of our rooms were beautifully cleaned and I loved the extra touches such as a coffee machine, tea pots and choice of tea, as well as plenty of bottled water and fresh flowers.|The only sounds that you hear are the soothing water fountain, bird song or the occasional call of one of the resident peacocks. There is a well-stocked honesty bar in the grand, but cosy drawing room.|Catherine and Coen are extremely attentive hosts, who are justifiably proud of the home and business they have created. This morning our delicious breakfast (including home made jams, freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit salad with a selection of yoghurts, pastries and cereals - if you are really hungry there are cheeses, hams or eggs and bacon as well) was served to us by Floris who was charming and efficient.|We spent the day exploring the local countryside and were pleased to return to the peaceful domaine and take a refreshing swim in the pool while listening to the bees humming in the lavender in the garden surrounding the pool.|Last night we all enjoyed sharing a few bottles of delicious Burgundy wine, sourced with care from Coen from a local, highly recommended vineyard. We drank this with a great selection of cheeses - many from the nearby region - and a perfectly dressed green salad and fresh crusty bread. A wonderful light supper after a busy day driving from the UK.|If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful retreat with perfect hosts, then Chateau de Villette is it.
