We had a midweek getaway as a couple at Chateau Elan. It's very close to everything shops, pubs and of course wineries and, it has it's own golf course with all the amenities that go with that. We've been here several times before. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful if you needed any information about what to do and see in the area. The bar at the Golf Club is a perfect way to end a day of wine tasting, overlooking the golf course you can relax, have drinks and nibble on some bar food. We stayed in as spa room overlooking the golf course which had the basics - coffee machine, kettle and bar fridge. Bedding was clean and fresh but the bed itself wasn't comfortable and the pillows though big and fluffy look good on a bed but were awful to sleep on, maybe offering a choice of pillow would be a fantastic option. Other than that it's a peaceful, relaxing place to stay with kangaroos and bird life all around. It's also good value for money if you can get a deal from someone.
