3 Best Day Trips from Sydney | Condé Nast Traveler
"This large-scale luxury resort in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country is the kind of place where you can land your helicopter on the front lawn. With 100 rooms, top-notch golf course The Vintage, a day spa, and conference spaces, virtually every leisure and business pursuit is covered. Book a lesson on the green with Richard Mercer, a pro golfer, then plan for some winery-hopping around Hunter Valley (nearby Bimbadgen and Brokenwood both offer cellar door tastings, and fine dining resto Esca Bimbadgen's wine pairings are on point)." - Sophie Davies
This is the second time I have stayed here in 4 years and it was just as excellent. The rooms which was a one bedroom suite with gas fireplace and spa bath. Spacious, clean rooms. A surprise bottle of local bubbles awaited us for my birthday. The staff were fantastic and consistently provided a high level of service. The location is magnificent. Very close to The Nineteenth which is a marvellous clubhouse. I couldn't recommend this venue more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We recently stayed here on a birthday midweek trip. The resort is located exactly where you would want to be when visiting the hunter.
The grounds are beautiful, easy to run around or go for morning walks to see kangaroos ! So many out and about.
The rooms are lovely and well maintained but you can tell they are going to age a little in the next few years. Nothing is wrong with them at all / they are still clean tidy and functional.
If you’re wondering whether to add the breakfast or not - please add it. It was one of the most diverse buffet breakfast we have ever had and all the food was cooked to an exceptional standard. It’s also lovely
Sitting in the dining room looking out to the golf course while starting your day.
Reception and concierge were helpful - they helped us booked a few things such as taxi transfers etc.
I would come back here. Lovely
Romantic gateway.

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary here. Villa apartment we booked was massive and beautiful, with a lovely gas fireplace feature. Very serene looking out over the golf course. Beautifully presented. Couch could do with an upgrade. Service was great and we were lucky enough to squeeze in 9 holes when the rain stopped. The course was stunning.

Very nice accommodation close to wineries and local attractions. Excellent on site food venues and for those with mobility issues both ground floor accommodation, buggy transportation and walk in showers. Bed very comfortable and surrounds exceptional. Lovely group of kangaroos kept us entertained along with golfers.

What a Marvellous place to stay! We highly recommend the Chateau Elan as a fantastic getaway- The grounds are immaculately kept, the staff from the reception to Bar and restaurant - to the cleaners were fantastic. The stunning heated pool and spa area as a favourite with us swimming every morning. Food at the Spike bar was excellent and very generous. We didn’t play golf but the greens looked stunning. Our room was very spacious with views over the golf course and kangaroos!- We had a great 3 night stay- and all within a stones throw of some fantastic wine tasting trips- we will be back!-

Very generous sized room with a lovely view. No complaints with our stay at all. Just a note that the bed was definitely on the soft side. ||If I could make one request it would be for a caffeine free herbal tea option (green tea still has caffeine)

Our one night stay in Chateau Elan's 1 bedroom apartment was delightful. The gas, mock open fireplace was warm, inviting and a reminder of open log fires of childhood.||The view overlooking the golf course and families of kangaroos was most relaxing. The full kitchen facilities enabled us to stay in and keep warm on a cold winter's night. But I did take the opportunity of a clear sky and low light on the golf course to practice my night time photography.

Great service from the hotel staff — they were friendly, prompt, and very accommodating. The views were beautiful and we loved seeing kangaroos and local wildlife.
However, the villa felt dated. The TV struggled to stream due to poor Wi-Fi, the fireplace didn’t work, and the gym needs an upgrade. The “heated” pool felt colder than advertised. Overall, decent value.
