The 19th-century estate offers luxury rooms with flat-screen TVs and large bathrooms. Stayed one night in a river view room. Room was very spacious with a large bathroom, overlooking the Garonne river and the pool area. Rafael at reception was very helpful and we were able to get into our room sooner than expected. The chateau is small, but has been elegantly renovated. Breakfast (€22 extra per person per day) was delicious including fresh orange juice, fresh fruit salad and egg dishes made to order. Enjoyed swimming in the lovely heated pool and taking a stroll along the banks of the Garonne. Ordered a salad from the hotel’s limited cold food menu for lunch (at €18 per plate quite pricey). The hotel does not have a restaurant, which is a pity as there are nor restaurants nearby. There is free coffee and water dispensed by machines in the breakfast room as well as a limited selection of wines that can be bought from a chilled cabinet. Again, the prices are high.||||While the hotel is lovely, it does not have the feel of a traditional one as it is mostly run as an events venue. There was a wedding breakfast taking place on the day we arrived, although it didn’t really impact us as the venue took place outside and in the adjoining events building. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The staff were amazing in every way. The rooms are spacious and clean and have beautiful views of this stunning estate. The pool was incredible. The common areas were plush and elegant and I felt at home. The food was amazing, from the delicious breakfast to the menu items. The wine selections were great, too. It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Bordeaux. It was easy to get Ubers to go out to dinner and join our wine tour group. Don't hesitate to book this. Possibly my favorite part of our France trip. Thank you to all of the staff for making us feel at home.

Gorgeous grounds, spacious, well appointed and decorated rooms. Great beds. Quiet and discrete . However it seems incongruent that there are very limited services considering the luxury of the hotel; one person at the front desk and that’s it. Once we waited 20 minutes for him to appear when our room key wasn’t working. That’s because he was showing the grounds and facilités to a potential wedding party; on another day,we were without water for over 2 hours because the woman at the front just didn’t have time to check what was wrong. There is a minimal breakfast ( which should be free) that ran out on our last day. Most important, there no restaurant beyond what the reception can prepare glorified as bar snacks. It is a good drive to any local eateries— and the options are VERY limited and not of the the calibre of the hotel. |If you’re looking for a « romantic » evening (or maybe a getaway with a special someone for the day) , this is THE place. On holiday, not so much. But all in all we enjoyed it as an experience. One final note , don’t pay extra for a river view( as we did AFTER they offered it to us). You can’t see out the window for the trees.

We had the pleasure to stay here in this beautiful chateau for a few nights. It was extraordinary! The chateau is so beautiful! The room was big, the bathroom also and very nice! The people were very friendly and helpful. We booked the boattrip to Bordeaux and went back by Uber Taxi (it was no problem). The boattrip was great and we had a wonderful view to the city. We will always remember these days in Bordeaux.

We attended the wedding of some very close friends recently. |It was without question, the most beautiful and mind blowing wedding I’ve ever attended. |This location is breath taking. The chateau is exquisite. The facilities are exceptional and the staff and chefs are a powerhouse to behold. The three days of functions went without a hitch (from my perspective) and the events were stunning. The bride organised it. Told the staff here what she wanted and they absolutely delivered. 150 people attended and the staff kept them fed and in drink for three days. |I have no idea what the wedding cost and I’d imagine it was expensive judging by the experience I had, but if any couples are considering this venue and have the money, absolutely go for it. It’s stunning on another level. ||Très Bien!

You’re staying at a beautiful castle on the river in Bordeaux - what’s not to love? Its picturesque. Service is friendly (Max is the kindest). No restaurant on site but breakfast is perfect and they have cheese and charcuterie all day. As well as a self service wine bar. You have to drive or taxi into town. But you’ll feel like you’re living in a French castle basically by yourself. Perfect.

The property is very nice, located less than 10 miles from the center of Bordeaux. The staff could not have been nicer. They were extremely helpful. When we checked in, the first room we were shown did not have a working TV. They then took us to another room on a lower floor that had a working TV. What they did not tell us was there are only 3 channels available, and they are all in French. Had we known that we would have stayed int he first room. We then found out the Heat/AC was not working in our room. We had someone from the front desk take a look at it and confirmed that it was not working. We were told they would tell someone about it. It still was not working the next day. we received profuse apologies upon checkout. There are better options in the area than Chateau Grattequina.

Superb chateau. Great views over la gironde from the rooms. The chateau has a big park and therefore enjoys total tranquility.|The pool area is nicely done, secluded and one can enjoy real swimming as the pool is long enough.|Breakfast is nice, too.|While they don’t really offer a real dining experience, they should offer help with luggage. That’s a but of a downer of an overall great hotel.

Yelp
This is an amazing hotel, but not for everyone. My wife and I planned a 7-day bike trip through wine country and needed a place north of Bordeaux in order to comfortably reach Puillac (42km) and everything in between. I called several places (there are not many) and we chose this Hotel/Chateau because of the concierge, Taissa. She was incredibly polite, knowledgeable and smart with the details (she referred us to O2 Cycles (top tier). These traits are quite welcome as you undertake a logistical exercise like this in another country. We relied on both her and Chloe and they were terrific. The chateau and grounds command the large quiet landscape ten steps from the Garonne River. The view cannot be matched. There is a private boat that can take you in and out of Bordeaux, or anywhere in the area for a price, and it looks beautiful tied to the the magnificent floating dock (see the pictures on the website). The room, breakfast and service are magnificent. You must be aware of the fact that they do not serve lunch or dinner in their dining area but you can get cheese and other delicious but limited items delivered to the room anytime. You should have a bike or car if you stay here because it is not near a bakery or restaurant. They do have a driver, Mr. Rush, that can be used and he is reasonably priced, punctual and polite. We picked up a baguette, bottle of wine and other pates etc... throughout the day and ate them in our room for dinner. This will not do for everyone but was romantic and allowed us to focus on the day's select bottle of wine mere steps from bed without driving at all. Loved the quiet but the isolation requires logistical forethought. For us, this stay could not have been better--thank you to the entire Grattequina Team!
