Château Hôtel Edward 1er

Experienced travelers from the US here. Le Chateau Edward the premier is not just a hotel, it's an experience that you must have if you are staying in the beautiful Dordogne! Beautiful location in one of the most charming bastide villages of France, the owners are so caring and friendly and the restaurant will amaze you with a culinary experience that my wife and I still talk about :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights with you over Christmas and, as always, felt spoiled both by the attention you gave us and with the glorious meals. The room was very comfortable and the walk in shower was a real boon. The atmosphere created by the Christmas decorations and perfumes was a delight, along with a cellar which will require more investigation next Christmas. Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous 2026.

Lovely hotel with its own parking, very comfortable rooms/beds, and beautiful public areas. In short, a haven on a chilly late November day. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food and service were exceptional. We left an item of clothing in the wardrobe and the hotel was kind enough to contact us and arrange for its return. We thoroughly recommend this hotel and plan to return.

This is a beautiful hotel set in a beautiful village. It’s blessed with an excellent position allowing easy parking a lovely garden and great views from many of the rooms over the valley. The staff were absolutely impeccable. So helpful, knowledgeable and charming. The rooms and shared spaces are beautifully appointed and the restaurant was fabulous - fine food and excellent service. I wish I had stayed longer.

Best hotel we stayed at in the Dordogne region! The grounds are beautifully kept and the interiors are nicely furnished. It made for a very comfortable and luxurious setting. Not only that but the staff was among the warmest and most welcoming I have ever encountered and were always willing to help. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and very spacious. The breakfast buffet was also a good deal and had a variety of options. The location was convenient as it was very close to Monpazier's center.||I highly recommend this lovely hotel!

A beautiful period hotel in an ancient town. Very professional & friendly staff, always willing to help. Impeccable service. A very calming & chilled atmosphere. Gorgeous room with a spectacular view & spotlessly clean. The food was excellent too with a lot of variety.

The chateau is lovely. The common areas are elegant and inviting, perfect for relaxing or enjoying a quiet moment. Our room was perfectly appointed with everything you could want. I highly reccomend the hotels restaurant. The food was delicious and the wait staff was wonderful. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help, making our stay even|more enjoyable . A wonderful experience from start to finish!

Excellent welcome, every where was very clean and well kept, with management very much active and on the ball throughout even at all meal times. Attention to detail seems to be key! The choice at breakfast superb, evening menus have plenty of options to give everyone a good choice with well cooked and presented food. The service was at all times very attentive.|We always judge a hotel post a visit by asking each other would we return and yes we definitely would!
