Loved our stay here. The room was the perfect size for two. The pool was great. Nice and quiet off the strip but close to the French Market. Only downfall was there was no mini fridge and it would have been nice having a ‘balcony room’ to actually have a small table and chairs outside of our room.

The staff were exceptional. They were always there to help and answer questions. The location is perfect. Close to all the action the French Quarter has to offer, but also quiet enough to enjoy the beautiful architecture. The courtyard with the pool was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.

We arrived early, hoping to be able to have our luggage securely stored -- a standard practice for many hotels -- and were surprised when the clerk told us to simply put our bags in the corner of the room, out in the open, just to the left of the check-in desk. More importantly, though: We were given the wrong room. We paid more for a room with a balcony overlooking the French quarter, a mini fridge, & drinks vouchers. The room we were given faced the courtyard, and didn't have a balcony or fridge (and we weren't given vouchers). Not wanting to mar our experience further, and waste time and effort shifting our belongings, we waited until check-out to address it with staff. The clerk told us a staff member there had apparently changed our room shortly after we booked it (without informing us or explaining why). The clerk apologized to us and credited us the difference between the two rooms. The room we received seemed nice, however, it was unsettling to see what appeared to be blood on the front cover of a New Orleans guidebook on our chest of drawers (see photo). Also, as others have mentioned, the walls are thin. We were able to hear the person in the next room turn on their TV at 4:30 am. Finally, there were issues with the toilet in our room, as it had almost no water in the tank and didn't want to flush properly, which resulted in a maintenance call. The saving graces of the hotel were its pretty exterior and courtyard, and the friendliness of the staff.

We only stayed a few hours, an Amtrak layover put us in NOLA at 12:00AM, leaving the next Morning at 9. ||The Chateau Hotel was named the Chateau Motor Hotel back in 1982; the year I noticed it while exploring the French Quarter. Over the years I always stayed at other New Orleans Hotels because the value didn't seem to be all that good at the Chateau. Reviews over years past were not too great. Last year there was a renovation by the new owner, Joe Jaeger. ||The result was the hotel was getting stellar reviews but was far down the list of top places for NOLA Hotels on Tripadvisor; VIOLA! A deal!! The price was excellent and the booking was easy on the Hotel's website. ||The room was extremely clean.|Great bed and linens.|The courtyard and public areas are beautiful!|The bathroom was a little small but nicely finished |The location is wonderful. |My wife really enjoyed the Hotel so much she suggested we stay here on a shopping vacation! |We won't comment on the service because we were only there for a few hours but the young man I spoke to on the phone, around 6pm was really pleasant.||So Bravo Mssr. Jaeger, a job well done! Thanks! We do suggest a breakfast or a good recommendation for the guests at check in.

We (wife and I) booked this hotel to be near our friend's condo on Decatur St (1 blk away). We were pleasantly surprised how nice the accomodations. Understand it was renovated a year or so ago. Room was small but expected for a boutique hotel. Very clean. Minimal amenities. |Note: I try to be realistic in my review, and constructive.|Pros: great location heart of French Quarter w/in walking distance of most, including French Parket, river walk access; has a nice pool, w/chairs and tables in the courtyard, bottled water, nice shower, very clean! Comfortable mattress.|Cons: the Google smart TV, has no local station/cable access. . everything is apps, and you have to have a google login to view anything(local program station would of be been nice and simplistic for non-smart TV users, at least our logins to Netflix, etc. were erased after turning off); only one desk chair, should have 2 just for dressing, et al, bed is rather high; bath-sink could use some auxillary shelving, there is only a very small area on a small sink to set the various toiletries people (2) need/bring; as a couple we were given only one entry "fob" eliminating independent access for either of us without sharing fob; the desk lamp had no shade (LED buld almost dim); adequate curtains but court yard is lit at night, and curtains are not light-blocking. . can be very bright in room at night.|One concern, when we had them call for a cab, an independent driver (uber?) showed up. He said his uncle drives cab, knows hotel staff and they call him rather than taxi. Nice vehicle and driver, but this is not kosher for an unlicensed driver hired for transportation and not a licensed taxi/uber/lyft? Liability risk? Ask first.

There are some huge plusses to this hotel. One is the front desk staff--they were all very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping also did a great job with cleaning the room, even on days when we slept in. Another huge plus is the location: easy walking distance to so many things, but on a relatively quiet corner. A third plus is the charm; it's not often one can stay in such an old building in the USA. It was nice to have bottles of water available for free in the lobby. And finally, we loved our balcony overlooking St. Phillip Street. Such a great place to sit!||A few potential drawbacks. Our King Balcony room was very small, with no desk and only one nightstand (and contrary to the website, no small couch). This meant there was no place to work except the balcony, and that's not an option if it's raining or too glare. The dresser was big but needed some repairs. The bathroom also has very little storage/counter space and I hate the motion-activated fan. Lastly, because it's an old building, there's no soundproofing, so you'll hear everything from the street, the stairs, and adjacent rooms. This last thing wasn't the end of the world, but if you're sensitive to noise, you might want earplugs.||Overall, the plusses outweighed the minuses and I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in the heart of the French Quarters, close to the riverfront and the French Market. It has a pleasant inner courtyard with a pool and a fountain. My room was spacious and clean with all the facilities you would expect from a hotel of this category. The staff manning the front desk - Macy, Elaine, Clayton and Derek - were always courteous and helpful. There were always bottles of drinking water near the entrance for guests to use. The room rates were reasonable.

Just spent three days at this lovely hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. Rooms weren’t overly large but they were clean and had everything we needed. The location is awesome, walking distance to all the fun places in the French Quarter. We especially loved the courtyard as we were travelling with others and it was the perfect spot for a rendezvous glass of wine before dinner. We would definitely stay at Chateau Hotel again!!
