Château Kirwan

What a beautiful place to visit! Loved tasting your wines and learning about how they are made. The dinner that the Viking tour had in your decked out event room was delightful! Looking forward to drinking pur wines!

You absolutely have to visit this winery — it’s beautiful! Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us through the vineyard, the winery, and the château. We had a tasting of three wines paired with sweets — highly recommended!

We showed up an hour and a half late but Mounia was very kind and did nice wine tasting for us and in fact was kind enough to show us a little bit of the property even though she was expecting another visitor in a few minutes. Definitely worth the visit. we enjoyed the margaux there

A beautiful Château. We had an absolutely extraordinary meal here. The staff were marvelous and the meal was excellent. The wine that they served was also delicious. We had three different wines with our dinner, perfectly paired. This is an extraordinary winery and a great experience.

Had an excellent tour with Sarah who was so knowledgeable about the vineyard and region. We tasted three red wines that were delicious and had a phenomenal meat and cheese tray. Recommend making a reservation for a tour and picnic.

Chateau Kirwan is a beautiful vineyard in Margaux with a friendly staff and an interesting tour. I have no real reason to not give 5 stars other than I didn't love both wines. They were good-the 2016 was much better-but I wasn't impressed enough to bring any home. Since the premier grand crus are so hard to get into, I would still recommend Kirwan. Just because I preferred some other wineries doesn't mean you will agree. You may think I have terrible taste and will love these wines. That's what's great about wine. From a vineyard and tour standpoint, Kirwan is worth your time.

Chateau Kirwan is a lovely setting but this rating is for Viking River Cruises, who catered the whole meal and did everything. I think the company probably rented this lovely facility. It was about of 45-minute bus ride from Bordeaux, all through incredibly beautiful countryside. This fulfills everything you imagined the French countryside to be. The first course was a nice lobster bisque which was not as thick or creamy as I have had before but it was delicious. The second course was three little pieces of terrine (duck and campagne) which were also quite tasty. The main course was filet of beef, which was quite good although I am not a big beef eater. The dessert was a very tasty little cake of cherries and cranberry. The portion sizes were perfect and two nice Bordeaux wines were served. Viking Cruises are not cheap but they surely do deliver unbelievable service. It is amazing how much emotional labor the staff delivers to guests and this dinner at Chateaux Kirwan was no exception. If you have a chance to go here, take that chance.

My husband and I traveled with Viking River Cruises through the Bordeaux wine region of France. One day we took an excursion from the ship to Chateau Kirwan in Margaux, France. The Chateau rests on 99 acres of vineyards that produce stellar red wines. That evening we enjoyed a fabulous multiple course dinner accompanied with three great wines from the Chateau Kirwan vineyards: Signatures 2017, Les Charmes de Kirwan 2014, and Chateau Kirwan 2011. These fine wines were served with these courses: Filet Mignon of Veal with truffle jus, and Molten Lava Cake with ice cream and Bordeaux wine syrup. Simply a beautiful evening in France!
