We had a wonderful time here. Ok. It’s an old building and if you want pristine and air con. Go elsewhere. But if you want old world charm. This is the place for you. Katrina’s welcome and general care was fantastic. From a port on arrival through champagne, scones and clotted cream to a night time cognac. We were looked after with style. ||We were there on a Wednesday when the restaurant was closed but the Rozel Just down the road is a lovely eatery associated with the hotel. The trio of lamb is a bit special.

What an amazing stay at a wonderful location. Staff were exceptional, room was fantastic and the food was great. Mini Wellington, perfect, breakfast very good and wine list was on point. Genuine staff who focused on attention to detail and a warm welcome. They are planning on opening for weekday lunch soon, well worth a visit. A real mix of tradition and new concepts. Thank you.

Delightful is how best to describe Hotel Chateau le Chaire. We stayed for 4 nights at this lovely quiet place and enjoyed the tranquility found at this end of the island Jersey. |Our room was exactly as described: clean with comfy beds and lovely balcony to sit and enjoy the afternoon sun. There were quality towels and plenty of hot watering the spacious bathroom.|There is also a lovely terrace with furniture to sit and have afternoon tea, a drink or just sit and read. |All the staff were very warm and welcoming; Chloe, front of house, was always there to respond to our questions about the island and dealt with couple of small issues very promptly.|Kyle was there at breakfast service and was again cheerful and professional.|Breakfast was nice but I think the continental breakfast could be improved with serving less ultra processed cheese and meats. The tea and coffee could also be improved.|We did not dine at the hotel: instead we went to the Rozel pub a few minutes walk away which was outstanding.|We hired ebikes from Lakeys bikes down by the bus station and the hotel has racks to lock them up. Cycling a great way to see all parts of the island in a few days.| A very relaxing way to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary and we will definitely be back. Not sure why we've never been before it so close to where we live in Kent.

At the start of the reservation, I had to make over 50 calls to just get 1 call answered so I should of realised that this was not going to be the Virgin Experience I had paid for. ||||I had already given the hotel notice (2 weeks prior to arrival) in respect to dietary requirements, I was only asking for chicken for the main as the very limited set menu was not the menu displayed on their website, in fact many things were not as per website. ||||On arrival we spoke to the Manager and she said that they would not be able to provide chicken as they only buy food as per set menu, I asked whether they could make a salad and was told they didn't have that in the kitchen, they only offered soup which was already on their snack menu, they were totally unhelpful. During this discussion, we had to endure another Manager who was aggressive, rude and interrupted the conversation I was already having, she became quite confrontational and basically made us feel like stupid children, she totally ruined this experience for us.||||We ended up having to order food in which at first the Manager told us we couldn't do then they back tracked.||||The bedroom was antiquated, the bed was extremely painful to sleep on, the window brace had the screws hanging out so any gust of wind and the window would of flown open and smashed against the wall. The duvet was stained with what looked like blood so we had to get this changed, the sheets looked slept in. There was no phone in the room and as mentioned before the telephone number for the hotel is not working, they give the excuse that they are having telephone problems, this was already given to me 2 weeks ago, they are still using this excuse as a French couple arrived yesterday and confirmed that they had been trying to get through with no joy. ||||When they handed us our keys, they let us know that we also had a front door key, as they lock the hotel down at 7pm and then no staff are on the premises, there is only one member of staff, living next door apparently. This was like something we had never experienced.||||The Bar was closed, only a honesty trolley was provided (this is not inline with the website) the trolley only had only a few drinks which were being sold at the same price as you would pay for full bar service. ||||During the stay, we ordered 4 lattes and they could only provide 3 in the latte glasses as this is all they had in the whole hotel, the volatile Manager blamed thieving from guests for this, charming!!! She also was quite rude to me because I stirred my Latte, this some how angered her.||||The breakfast was cheap and not fitting of this calibre hotel (we only ate cereal), the fruit options looked like they were straight out of a can, the bread and continental side looked shop bought and not home made as we had previously experienced, this was the saddest breakfast I have ever seen. ||||We visited the Chateau over 2 years ago and the food & service was exemplary, this visit was like night and day. I really would not recommend this hotel at all, you would receive better food and service at a cheap no frills hotel. We have had staycations this year at The Old Court House, The Club and L'Horizon and we would give all these hotels the thumbs up, they couldn't do enough for you and the service was 100%.||||What should of been a lovely relaxing break turned into a terrible, nasty & quite disturbing experience, one we never want to repeat.

We had a brilliant stay at Château La Chaire—beautiful setting, great atmosphere, and the kind of service that really makes a difference. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a good time.||Special mention to Chloe, who was absolutely excellent. She was attentive without being overbearing, and had that perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. She really helped make our stay feel relaxed and personal.||The whole experience felt thoughtful and well-run. Would happily return—and probably will

I had dinner in the formal wood-lined dining room last night, comprising a delicious lobster risotto followed by pavlova, washed down with a glass of the excellent house red. Possibly the best meal I've had in my month's stay on the island. I can highly recommend, not only for the food but the professionalism of the staff who presented everything beautifully and with perfect attention to detail.

Very dated. Dirty carpets. Rotten wooden doors to balconies and rotten bathroom windows. Poor menu choices and only one vegan option. Chef couldn't do any other options. No vegan butter for breakfast. Had emergency plumber interrupt stay and he couldn't fix bath taps.

What a lovely place. Stayed here for 3 nights for a family wedding nearby. The hotel staff were very polite and friendly. The decor throughout was tastefully done and in keeping with the age and style of the building. We would certainly stay again if visiting Jersey.
