Best Bordeaux Wineries to Visit

"This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru has earned its place on visitors' itineraries not just for its refined, full-flavored reds, but for its strikingly modern Jean Nouvel-designed wine making facility. The winery also provides panoramic views of its famous neighbors from the Terasse Rouge restaurant up top. We joined a tour to experience the vineyards 🍇, where the winemaking process was explained in full, detailed depth. The staff were incredibly friendly and patiently answered all our questions. The tasting sessions were delightful—each wine superb! 🍷✨ Naturally, we left with bottles in hand.

Our experience @ La Dominique was wonderful especially with Sonia as our guide. She went through the history of the chateau and was very informative. I loved the rooftop where the glass rubies were reflective if the 3 types of grapes… Merlot, Cabernet savg and Franck. Highly recommend a visit.

We had a wonderful experience at Chateau La Dominique. The lunch at the restaurant was delicious. It was a rainy day but with a good weather the view should be amazing. The tour and wine tasting was very interesting, the guide was great not only sharing information about the winery (wonderful design project) and the region, but also answering all our questions. I highly recommend it!

After very average sightseeing in Bordeaux, our expectations were low, but both my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour at Château la Dominique! It was a scorching 40° outside but the guide showed us the key areas on site and continued the detailed explanation indoors, in a more conducive environment. I learnt so much on the 1 hour tour (Visite La Charme) and the guide patiently answered all our questions in English and French. The tour concluded with a tasting of 3 wines, which once again explained the nuances of drinking wine. The vineyard itself is beautiful, with stunning views. Absolutely loved the entire experience and highly recommend it.

Interesting and definitely you must see place in Saint-Ėmilion AOC Grand Cru Classé Château. Another Michel Rollands'wine consultant child. Outstanding new cellar design by Jean Nouvel opened at 2014. 29 hectares, 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel ageing between 16 to 18 months; 70% new barrels. Wine style, especially famous in Bordeaux, for a spicy character - a black pepper and a smoke dominated with cherries, redcurrants and blackberries. Perfect match with a grill. Neighbour of Cheval Blanc, Figeac and La Conseillante. Good Restaurant 'Le Terrasse Rouge' on the top floor with a rich selection of French wines and menu dominated by stakes. Beautiful view. Open for everyone by apointments. Check a website to book your visit.

Yelp
The tour was delightful and very informative. The guide was wonderful. We didn't eat at the restaurant but rather just did a tour and tasting. We liked how the old meets the new with this winery.

Yelp
An overrated crazy modern French experience. I would have to say form all the wineries we visited this time in St. Emilion, this one was the least memorable, very "stiff and non-personable". Their wine isn't that great considering the location and soil they have to work with.

Yelp
We arrived at the place with a reservation to see the vineyard at 4.30pm, and there was only one inept hostess. we arrived at the place on the recommendation of a few French people and they made the reservation, and when we arrived at the place a blonde with glasses, not qualified to do anything well and that she did not find any better job than working as a receptionist whose job is only jotting down hours of visits, his ineptitude was tremendous that he was unable to give a good excuse and only said that he could not do anything so that me and my partner could attend the tour. the worst service and a shame for the French and for the place. it is not possible for a good place to have a girl so inept to do such an easy job. poor person I hope she find something interesting to do with her life. 37 friends from all over Europe had planned to tour this vineyard, and thanks to what I tell them about this place and its workers, they canceled the visit. and turn them to other people. I do not recommend this place in absolut.
