Château Léognan (Bordeaux, Nouvelle Aquitaine) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Once part of a 17th-century estate owned by Saint Jean’s monks, Château Léognan has passed through the hands of shipowners and Bordeaux wine merchants, each leaving their mark. Today, the 173-acre domaine surrounding a 19th century chateau and its chapel is home to a boutique retreat with suites in both the castle and grounds, treehouses hidden in fairy-tale forests, and a dedicated wine pavilion for tastings and workshops. Here, hospitality follows a relaxed rhythm — breakfast arrives when you wake, and a glass of Bordeaux is never far from hand." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed at this beautiful place for two nights and were overall very pleased with the experience. The room was very comfortable, with a nice king-sized bed and luxurious toiletries. The premises were vast and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly, polite, and eager to help. We loved the restaurant — it was reasonably priced, and the meal was delicious. However, I cannot rate it five stars, as there were two aspects that were a bit disappointing to us: There is nothing to do on the estate in case of bad weather. It was pouring rain, and we had a free hour before dinner, hoping to sit at the bar. It turned out to be closed and only opens during dinner time. There was no other option to enjoy a cocktail, wine, or even tea or coffee. You can buy a bottle of wine at the shop and sit in the lounge, but we don’t usually drink wine by the bottle before a meal. Breakfast was quite expensive (€25 per person) but lacked vegetables and a green salad. The buffet offered only pastries (although very tasty), and from the table service, you could order eggs, pancakes, yogurt, and more pastries. I try to eat healthily and really missed my morning dose of cucumbers and tomatoes. A quick honorable mention: they sell wine at the shop and offer the same wine at the restaurant for €20 more. This seemed a bit strange, considering it’s local wine produced right here at the vineyard. To sum up, it’s a very lovely place to spend a couple of nights — remote, serene, and peaceful, with an amazing restaurant. Personally, I would choose another place for breakfast and come prepared with my own beverages for rainy evenings.

The most amazing spa & massage by Louise & Celine!! We did a couples massage (did not stay at the hotel) we are staying in Bordeaux- and spent the day here. Started with an incredible lunch and then followed the spa and wine tasting. The spa is outdoors/eco lodge style. Luxury !! Cold pools/ sauna/ showers/ lounging deck. 10/10 Louise & Celine ! Merci !

Most beautiful Chateau in fantastic grounds. We stayed one night with our three dogs and were all made very welcome. The grounds were fantastic to walk the dogs in and the bedroom had dog bowls waiting for them. sometimes hotels say they welcome dogs but it doesn’t always feel that way when you arrive - this was not the case here. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant, breakfast is served in the Chateau and was truly delicious of course the dining rooms were decorated so tastefully reflecting the rest of the Chateau. We will be back and will stay for longer so that we can make use of the spa, tennis and the gym. Highly recommend.

The place is considered new and well constructed. However, we are not too impressed with the wine tour they have provided. We were arriving quite early and was offered a free wine tasting and that was excellent. However, we had extra time and decided to went for a wine tour costing 10 euros per person (30 in total) and all the guy did was just walked us to a small chapel within the property ( no wineyard no fermenting process, no nothing just BS story about how the chateau was taken over by generations). It left us bad impression at the checkin and we were hoping the hotel is more considerable.

A magical three nights with our three young girls. Our bedroom was incredible for a family of five. The balcony was amazing and we didn’t want to leave it. The grounds were fun to explore. We enjoyed the electric bikes, tennis courts, wine tasting and had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant. We will be back

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Chateau! Very good location if you’re exploring the Bordeaux wine region, rooms and the venue very charming and quiet. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. We took part in a tasting experience which we really enjoyed. Special mention for Hugo, who was our guide during the tasting tour and was really friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this Château and would happily come back in the future!

Exquisitely charming estate tucked in protected forest with vineyard at the heart of the property. The staff were warm and enthusiastic and shared a passion for the history of the estate and the future of the winery. The tasting tour was a welcome addition to our stay conveying the storied history of the chapel and property. We stayed in one of the Lodges which are meticulously adorned "glamping" tents overlooking the vineyard. Each had glorious showers, sinks, and a luxuriously comfortable king bed. The restaurant served delicious foods that paired nicely with their wines. They kindly arranged airport transport as well. We only wish we ordered more of their delicious wines to be shipped home!

Wonderful stay, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, the food was amazing and we really enjoyed the wines. We couldn't use the SPA because it was fully booked, so you should know that it needs to be reserved in advance. Thank you for everything!
