If you’re into history and staying in a place that in its heyday had A list stars staying in it then this place is for you. However, that is the beginning and end of the “perks”. Its very unfortunate because this place could be incredible if it were owned by someone who gave even half a crap about it and had some pride in their establishment. Wasn’t able to check in at the allotted time due to them not having the rooms ready. Was told to put my name on a list and they would call me as soon as a room was made available. Waited in the lobby for an hour before approaching the desk again and seeing how the rooms were coming along and was promptly checked in. The phone call was never coming. The lobby smells of weed and the rooms of cigarettes. The “marketplace” was empty so you better have everything you need food and amenity wise. There are three elevators. One was operational and appeared to be on its last legs as it stopped at incorrect floors consistently and had masking tape closing the control panel. Decided to suck it up and use the stairs. The rooms are rooms but at least the ac worked. In all if it weren’t for the history and some window dressing in the form of retro decoration than this place would frankly be abhorrent. If I were you I’d come in walk around, snap the photos you want of the memorabilia so you can say you went and then leave. 2 stars solely because I love the historical aspect of it.

Don’t particularly like this area. The room was clean but the AC didn’t work well. The balcony is so small I felt claustrophobic. The decor was unique, fun & different. The ladies at the check-in/ out were very nice. There was a big ragae venue going on and the music was very loud but thank goodness we were on the 7th floor and it couldn’t be heard. It was very clean but the towels felt like sandpaper. The bed was decent and the tons are large. All in all I’d give it a 3.5

If I could give zero stars, I would. From the moment I arrived, this hotel looked totally abandoned and neglected. The place felt like a ghost town with virtually no staff around, yet bizarrely I noticed some people who seemed to be living there long-term. The few staff members I encountered were unmotivated and unwilling to help with anything. My room was filthy and extremely poorly maintained. There was dust and grime everywhere, and even basic amenities were missing or broken. None of the lamps even had light bulbs, leaving the room in darkness. The bathroom was the worst: the toilet paper roll hadn’t even been replaced after the last guest – absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. To top it off, the fire alarm went off late at night and blared for almost an hour. I was jolted awake and had to wait forever for them to finally shut it off. It was a ridiculous late-night fiasco with no apology or explanation from management. Finally, the price was the last straw. This dump charged an outrageous amount per night for such a nightmare experience. I have never felt so ripped off by a hotel. Bottom line: stay far away from this hotel – no matter how desperate you are, it’s just not worth it.

Old world glamour is in full effect at this hotel. It's beauty harkens back to cozy banquette's lined with guys and dolls back in the dance hall days. But the decor is modern and contemporary in a sumptuous soak it all in sort of way. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and will be returning again soon 🌹

This hotel was a total vibe. The front desk personnel were professional and polite. The rooms were clean, spacious and stocked. Loved the tiki bar and the lounge, didn’t get a chance to get in the pool. I would definitely book with this hotel in the future. Loved my birthday weekend get away.

Completely abandoned and neglected. The room was filthy, with dust, grime, and not even a single light bulb in the lamps. The toilet paper had already been used when we walked in — absolutely disgusting. The staff looked like they didn’t want to be there and made zero effort to help with anything. To make things worse, the fire alarm went off late at night and kept ringing for almost an hour. No explanation, no urgency from the staff — we were just left waiting. Also, there are people literally living inside the hotel, which made the whole place feel unsafe and chaotic. What they charge per night is a complete scam for the nightmare you get in return. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place.

In short: This resort was likely something to behold in its heyday, but like the stars of old they plaster the walls with, it is well past that prime. It's time to either refresh this aged establishment or let it die. If you can get it for ~85 a night it's worth it just for the clean rooms, but do not expect a resort to experience here. Rooms: The rooms are clean, if that is the biggest concern than you are good there. That being said ours smelled of hospital room with a strong cleaning agent astringency. Amenities: Amenities wise most things are either work down to near unusable or outright closed. Dining: The tiki bar ioens intermittently with no posted hours or consistency. There is a medicore salad / juice bar open daily 7 to 7. The only actual restaurant is only open on Wednesdays. Dangerous: This would have been a 3 star review if not for the below. The pool has a steel sign on it claiming it is closed by the city yet they still tell people it's open and invite you to use it. The elevator inspections expired 6 months ago.

The mini store in the lobby is bare so if you forget anything you're looking elsewhere. The "restaurant" has one person cooking and taking orders. Be prepared for a 2 hour wait for coffee or breakfast. The tiki bar outside is less than half stocked with alcohol and soda and has 4 menu options. The staff is friendly and does their best but if you need more than just a bed to sleep on I would say look elsewhere. Absolutely every piece of gym equipment was broken. Our mattress was comfy but it's clear people had fun in it because it made all sorts of noises even with a gentle roll over. Frame is likely broken. Our fridge was broken and couldn't close. Tv didn't work and no remote was provided. Soap dispenser kept falling off in the shower. Buttons on elevator were missing. Much maintenance needed all over the place. The big pro is the decor. Well themed!
