Carnmore Chateau Marlborough

So this is definitely a mixed bag review. The rooms are very nice. Modem, clean and warm. The guy on reception was helpful and offered good advice when I asked about a couple of things. Then we move into the restaurant. This was a very different experience. The servers were vague and disinterested in their jobs. We asked for a drink of lemon lime and bitters. We are convinced it was made with soda water. When asked the waitress said "I don't know. I don't make the drinks" and walked off. Rather than going and finding out. We sent it back saying it was gross and still the light didn't come on in her head that something wasn't right. The meals themselves were nicely presented and tasted good enough. However they were very small portions, not a deal breaker I guess but that customer service was severely lacking.

Arrived much earlier than check in allowed on Monday, but the amazing lady at reception was more than helpful to us, storing our bags, and attempting to get our room ready as soon as possible. So friendly! The rooms were modern and tidy and in great condition. The lovely English girl in the restaurant was super friendly and made us feel so welcomed. We enjoyed our meals, drinks and stay. Highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service, location and rooms!

We received an email after booking with the Chateau asking for arrival times to make our stay seemless and it definitely was. Laychan on reception was a wonderful, friendly concierge who made our special occasion second to none. He thought of everything, and provided exceptional customer service throughout out our stay, making us feel very special. My husband is about to embark on a new chapter in his life, and this was the perfect break away. We had a delicious dinner in the dining room and met other attentive and lovely staff. The rooms we had were very comfortable, spacious, clean with a very comfortable bed. The front desk staff, especially the German/British lady (Silke) was very professional, helpful, friendly and polite, who in our opinion, went above and beyond with a couple of requests we asked for to make the stay for our elderly parents even more comfortable. She made the three day stay very pleasant. The dining room staff were also very professional, courteous and friendly. We can't recommend this hotel high enough.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at at this lovely place twice four weeks ago. The night we arrived a young man greeted my husband with such a warm welcome. He informed us of the lovely restaurant on site and the Sunday Roast. Well the roast was so good you wanted to lick the plate(extremely inappropriate of course) and desert was lovely. The wonderful staff were all geared to make you feel like a valued guest.They chatted moved about checking you were happy with everything and keeping a watchful eye on your liquid refreshments be it coffee,orange juice or alcohol! Thankyou to receptionist, chefs,front of house dinning staff, kitchen hands and big thanks to the cleaners who gave us a beautiful clean room. Big hugs Mark & Jet

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. The location is seriously perfect - we were just a short walk from town center and had tons of restaurants and shops right on our doorstep.|Our room was gorgeous, spacious, super comfy and had everything we needed. And the front desk staff? Absolutely fantastic. They were all so kind and helpful, always willing to lend a hand.|We were really impressed by the little touches too - like the welcome brownies on arrival. 5/5|One night was not enough to fully appreciate the hotel and the cute sunny little town of Blenheim. Cannot wait to return.

The room was spacious, decor contemporary and restful. Large comfy bed, bathroom large and modern. Outside space to sit and read. Bar and restaurant excellent, Sunday night roast was scrumptious . Outside seating around the pool and live music on Friday evening. Cleaning, bar and table staff are friendly helpful and good fun!

The stay was satisfactory but we were a little underwhelmed by the hotel. ||Our room looked to need a little renovation - nothing too major but the furniture was a bit tired, the grouting in the bathroom needed attention etc. The bed was harder than we liked. ||The service at reception was welcoming. ||The WiFi worked smoothly. ||On our first night we ate in the restaurant and thought the Sunday roast we had was tasty and very good value. But on the other hand, we were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet the next morning. There was only a minimal selection of fruit etc., and the cooked food was allowed to run out so no scrambled egg when we were there and the service we thought was indifferent. It was certainly not good value for money. ||The hotel had been recommended to us by friends who stayed here last year. Maybe if we hadn’t been expecting more we would have rated the room more kindly.
