"This distinctive, concave château near the Moulis train station offers essentially a wine tourism center of its own with a wealth of offerings, including a wine museum, wine classes, a gift shop, and even a handsome bed and breakfast on property, which is well-located as a base for touring the Medóc. maucaillou.com" - Food & Wine Editors

I can really recommand this Chateau. I spent also 1 night at this place. The rooms are comfortable and nicly furnished. The breakfast is good in a nice old room of the chateau. But also you can do a tour in different languages. This contains a walk through the house-museum. This is very equipped with a lot tools and machines for winemaking. Also barrel and bottle-making is shown and nicly presented. A movie gives a very good overview about the company Maucaillou and their products. Then you can take part at a winetasting. I found it good, that it is easy to come along and feel welcomed and without long planning you can join to a guided tour. The price of 15€ is also very fair.

Great place and wonderful service. The Château is beautiful and the story of the winery and the family really interesting. Philippine was an amazing host! So concerned to help me and friendly all the time. Totally recommend! A must do if you are in Bordeaux!

Our tour guide Cecile was amazing and so knowledgable. Really appreciated the fact that she told the time to explain everything to me in English. Can't wait to come again

We arrived late on a Sunday after the tours had finished for the day. However this did not stop them welcoming us and taking us over to the cellars for a free tasting. One of my favourite modestly priced left banks, and our first visit to the vineyard. Thank you!

It is a really nice and romantic Chateau. It looks just like the picture you see! You get to stay in one of the rooms inside for a very reasonable cost. They prepare a simple and pleasant relaxing breakfast for you in the mornings as well. The grounds are gorgeous for taking pictures or just hanging out chilling.

I took a group to Chateau Maucaillou and we had a fantastic visit! The museum is very interesting and the tour and tasting were extremely informational. Thanks for a great all-around experience!

Visited the Chateau with 3 friends with the intention of purchasing 4 cases, having seen the wine recommended elsewhere. When we asked to taste, prior to confirming our purchase, we were told that there was none available to taste and that we would have to buy a bottle in order to do so. When we said that we were surprised at this, given the number of tastings and tours the Chateau organises, we were sarcastically told that since we were so polite we could try a completely different wine from a different year, with fundamentally different characteristics to the wine we intended to purchase. This is a commercialised money machine that omits the charm and elegance of Bordeaux and its wineries. For a much more authentic experience with delightful wine and superb customer interaction, we visited and would highly recommend Chateau Biston-Bruillette, Chateau Paveil de Luze (including a tour round the Chateau) and Chateau Haut Breton Larigaudiere.
