Château Prieuré Marquet

En route from southern Spain to Calais we pushed it to clear Bordeaux’s traffic then searched online for overnight accommodation hoping to find for a charming, quiet location, a lovely supper, a comfortable bed, secure parking for our valuable car, and a nice breakfast to set us up for the drive onwards. |We certainly found it, and much more at this lovely Chateau. |It is about a 20 minute drive from the A10 but it is worth it for the peace and quiet and for the beautiful views. |Parking is very secure, indeed the owners appreciate cars, and the welcome was very warm. The owners are present and clearly care deeply about this place which they have renovated to a superb standard. they chatted to us serving us a fresh glass of wine before showing us our room. We were in time for a sumptuous ‘menu surprise’ dinner (the chef here is clearly very creative and accommodated our food intolerances beautifully) overlooking the vineyards from which the accompanying wines had been produced on site! |We did not use the pool or jacuzzi. |Because we needed an early start, the manager, Julian, arranged an early breakfast for us which was most kind. It was a great breakfast too! |This was a rare and beautiful stopover spot for us but much more than that. If we ever decide to spend time in Bordeaux, Libourne, St. Emilion we would certainly base ourselves here for a week or more and explore the site further. |Gorgeous!

Absolutely incredible! Spent 2 nights here, including dinner and breakfast. Room was spacious, clean, with exterior access to wander the grounds. The grounds are beautiful. Food was perfect. Host Julien was extremely friendly and made you feel at home. Probably the most relaxing environment and stay I’ve ever had. If I have the opportunity to visit the region again, I will absolutely stay here again.

I cannot stress enough how lovely our stay at this beautiful property was. Staff were so attentive and kind, rooms were impeccably clean and modern for such a historical building, food was fantastic, and the overall property was breathtaking. We stayed a few nights while attending a wedding nearby. We enjoyed breakfast every morning, which we recommend given that not only is the food fresh and delicious but there are also not many food options nearby. We enjoyed use of the hot tub, walked around the vineyards, and enjoyed a glass of the property’s wine. Everyone went out of their way to make us really feel at home and enjoy full use of the property. Would definitely come back for a relaxing weekend away!

While a bit off the beaten path, it’s exactly this what makes it special. Absolute tranquility in it’s own vast park with vineyards and a view over the surroundings.|The service was perfect. Very personal and made you feel special from the moment you come in until you leave. |The rooms are big, modern in an old setting.|The food was great. The surprise dinner was top notch.|The pool is a bit on the small side, but ok to refresh, too small to get an exercise swim.|All in all highly recommended!

Well I don’t know what to say about this place absolutely magical and we couldn’t of spent our wedding anniversary any better it’s been so magnificent and magical from the food, to the room, to horse riding around the vineyard everything has been absolutely perfect. Big thanks to Barnard, Julien and chef for this amazing experience!!

A beautiful and peaceful chateau with lots of character. The terrace and pool are stunning, and the whole place has a relaxing atmosphere. A lovely restaurant and exquisite cuisine.

The most beautiful property I have ever seen.|It's a most beautiful property I have ever seen ever seen. The decor, The ambience, The staff, The owners everything is awesome. |I had been to this place with my French & German friends. We had a dinner together too with the owners of this beautiful chateau. |The food & the wine is something must be try at this property. The 5 course meal perfectly paired with different wines was an experience all together. |The paintings, The decor is really classic & well curated. |I recommend everyone who wants to have a classy, well curated vacation, they must try this property. They really have another level of hospitality.

This Chateau is heaven on Earth. A place of beauty, peace, amazing wine and food. The hospitality is faultless and is one of my favourite Hotels in the World. I literally bought my property in France so I could return endlessly ♥️
