"But if you want to go off the grid? Head 45 minutes east of Cannes to find Vence, a small commune in the hills of the Alpes Maritimes. You might want to speak French, or at least attempt, when you pull into to this town, which is known for its landscape and the luxury destination spa at the Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The hotel has a visually appealing design and truly lives up to its five-star rating. However, our room did not have a balcony, and we found ourselves needing a designated area for smoking. Additionally, the room was a bit small, especially considering the high nightly rate, as we expected slightly more space. The poolside meals were delicious and enjoyable. The hotel staff was extremely well-trained and knowledgeable. I believe the hotel's management is responsible for ensuring the quality of the staff, and they did a great job. The staff was very professional, both when introducing the hotel and assisting at the reception. Overall, it's a beautiful and successful hotel.

This was a lovely hotel part of the Oetker Colection. The location is near St Paul de Vence which is a very nice town. The breakfast buffet was amazing as was the patio with the view while dining. All the meals were amazing. I would say the Bar Rossini dinner left something to be desired but the Restaurant is excellent and a Michelin starred one at that. |The Spa is also very nice.

Amazing service. Every staff member was pleasant and professional. Definitely a real 5 start service. Food was decent. Location is really good to visit St Paul de Vence. The hotel looks old but it’s been entirely renovated so rooms are really new. Just an old charming style. Only negative for me is the pool area: not pleasant at all, not enough sun beds, kids everywhere… feels more like a club med. we took a cabana but not really pleasant either and quite far from the pool. If the pool is not your main criteria, I would recommend this hotel.

Wow. I have to say, this is one of the most idyllic venues I have ever visited. We had a large celebration in the L’Oliveraie garden. The views were sensational and the garden setting was just stunning. We shared many different dishes—steak, pizzas, pastas, salads—all of which tasty and excellent quality. Even better was the service. Considering this is a premium location, we were delighted with how accommodating and kind the staff were to the four children in our party. They brought them colouring books and went to a lot of trouble to make them feel included. Couldn’t recommend more. Thank you for making this celebration special—we’ll be back!

We had probably the best Jr. Suite possible while staying at seven different 5 star hotels over a 4 week period at this outstanding hotel/location perched on the hilltop with commanding views over Vence, Cannes and Nice with the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.. Prestige suite #54 has an enviable corner location on this hilltop hotel, beautifully decorated, large and many comfortable seating options with four French doors, three opening onto a private patio with table for outdoor dining (if desired) with amazing views to Nice, Antibes and the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel grounds are very spacious and pleasant.||Staff very attentive and helpful. The swimming pool is beyond gorgeous with perfect lap swimming temperature. We enjoyed 3 days of breakfast in the room and went to the formal dining twice. Both evenings were outstanding and the Dorade one evening was possibly the best I can recall. Staff and wine sommelier Arthur was very accommodating to our limited wine consumption habit. We will be back!

Off the beaten track, on top of a hill looking over the south of France. On a good day you can even see Corsica. A lovely area with a nearby small town. ||I felt this was secluded and exclusive. I’ve never quite felt peace like it. It’s so quiet and relaxing. If I were to ever go away by myself or just with my partner for a quiet week, this would be it. ||As someone who works in luxury travel, the little gifts I had for my child goes such a long way. Even though they cost a small amount, it is these touches which keep high net worth individuals coming back and will keep people like me sending clients to the hotel. ||Top quality breakfast. Stunning pool area. Fantastic clean and spacious room. |I hope to go back one day.

An amazing stay at this stunning hotel. The reception staff could not do enough for us. Everything was first class; five star. We would happily return again.

Yelp
It is a pitiful culinary experience in a gorgeous location! We tried their "gourmet" restaurant Le St Martin as well as L'oliveraie. Not only once but twice each just because we wanted to give it a second chance. Both have a very good service. Le St Martin is a classy restaurant with a gorgeous view. L'oliveraie is just a lovely outdoor brunch/lunch restaurant. The only problem is that the food is just terrible! At the gastro, nothing original in the menu to begin with. Nice wine selection though! Totally NOT impressed with their "mise en bouche" (veggie soup) and their beef fillet was everything but a fillet. Hard and barely edible. So let's not call this a gastro anymore please or less they change the chef! As per L'oliveraie, every dish was a disaster. I thought it would be hard to mess up a club sandwich but yes, they managed to ruin this as well! I would advise the group to really think about hiring a good chef that knows what he's doing because even in a such gorgeous place, people would easily run away or simply never go back. This is in France, one of the best cuisine in the world. C'mon!

Yelp
Absolutely opulent! That chateau is so beautiful and peaceful. Jaw dropping views. The staff is so very helpful. They spoil you! Nothing is too much to ask for. Would come back here again and again. Our suite was beautiful and very luxurious.

Yelp
A mind-numbingly expensive place with a commanding view over the town. Quite magnificent though! We were lucky enough to be ungraded to a suite and were treated, and felt, like royalty! The main restaurant is a gourmet's paradise, and the staff almost too attentive even a little table for my wife's handbag!

Yelp
How about a 6 star category for outstanding accommodations, location, service and food. I'm not sure it gets any better than this.

Yelp
The main feature of the property is its spectacular view and I booked my stay through the Fine Hotels and Resorts Program offered by Amex for Platinum cardholders as one of the benefits was a room upgrade. When we arrived, the receptionist took us unnecessarily to the second floor before making us go back down to the first floor and taking us to a room that had a view of plants hiding the rest of the terrace. We had been "upgraded" into what she later described as an handicapped room. What a disappointment! I talked to Anais, the manager on duty and although they had rooms with views available, she would not bulge and required us to pay extra. We had just spent a couple days at the Carlton in Cannes where we experienced spectacular service from the heart. What a night and day with our experience at CSM. After my stay, I contacted the General Manager as I always make the effort to find a solution with management. I just experienced the same cold, arrogant and disingenuous attitude, only taken to the next level. BTW, there was another guest that was experiencing an issue that same night and ended up leaving the property. Two parties at a small supposedly high-end property experiencing major issues on a single night, that speaks volume. Boy, did I regret leaving the Coast to come up there. I will not be making that mistake again.
