Lovely location and a nice experience of traditional Provence architecture and decor. The room, although somewhat a challenge to access…55 steps…is a beautiful space with wonderful views once you enter. The wine produced on the estate is truly beautiful and delicious. So much so we shipped 96 bottles home 😉
Breakfast along with the service from the delightful lady who looked after us, was a pleasure. The only downside was the main restaurant. The choice of food was rather a surprise…veal from Scotland for example, which was pre cooked, as was the lamb choice. As such, we tried a pasta dish and an a starter of asparagus and bresaola, both of which were a huge letdown and we were unable to eat.
My wife and I chose to eat out on the second evening. A real shame, as we thought we would be sampling freshly cooked to order locally sourced ingredients.
Having stayed at the Ultimate Estate last year where we enjoyed several excellent dining experiences, this was a real letdown on this special occasion.
