Château Saint-Victor-la-Coste

Such a beautiful place! Our host Costas was very kind and gave us a tour of the Chateau. The room was clean and charming with an old world feel. I would definitely come back as this was on my bucket list!

Five stars is not enough to describe this absolute masterpiece - a 1600th century chateau, beautifully curated into the most luxurious hideaway! Allow us to award a sixth star to the welcoming and authentic hosts, Alison and Costas, doing the world a favour by opening up their home. Forever grateful. 🙏

This B&B is beautifully decorated and ideal for pictures. But some aspects are worrisome: absence of basic room service for a stay of 3 nights. Toilets papers pilling up but no one changed the trash bags. No cleaning assistants, the owner was changing the sheets after checkout. Mattress is probably from two decades ago as it doesn’t bounce back and yellowing quite a lot. No ac in summer (35+) in guests rooms as they say we don’t need it. I saw it in owners’ room during the tour. If you want pictures I suggest stay one night and not more, it is not comfortable.

We adored our stay in this wonderful Chateau. A warm welcome greeted us by Kostas and Alison, the fantastic owners. We met new friends around this gorgeous pool, with views of the ancient castle above. We loved the use of the kitchen and utility services for our trip. The Chateau is so tastefully decorated and really looking forward to our next trip back. We really enjoyed travelling to the nearby charming village of Uzes, where we had some of the best meals in restaurant Ten. Pont du Gard was an amazing day trip from the Chateau. Highly recommended.

As seasoned travelers, ecstatic we did not read Randy's review before our visit!!! The Chateau + hosts, Ali + Costas, exceeded all our expectations, from the moment Costas greeted us at the train station! The restored Chateau is breathtakingly beautiful and inviting, painstakingly restored with art and historical little treasures placed through the various halls and rooms. You could spends days wandering around and miss the 1627 fireplace, restored murals or French officer medal and silk scarf, of which the Hermes scarf is fashioned after! French gardens are abundant with honeysuckle and lavender; a glass of wine at the pool. ||We were blessed to experience the Taste of Provence with the other guests: a lovely German girl, two British couples, and a beautiful Italian, which included excursions to a few delightful markets! Meals were prepared with Chateau cherries and herbs! Ali + Costas established a WhatsApp group for all of us to share our experiences and pictures. The Chateau guests are all now our lifelong friends! You will not be disappointed!!! The Chateau is immaculatrly clean!!!!! We will be back, and intend to bring our friends as well!! |

A spectacular accommodation in a charming town. Very conveniently located for visiting many other attractions in the area. This became our family’s favorite destination-a magical experience.

My wife and I were there last week with another couple for our 3-day visit to Southern France. Unfortunately, the experience was not a good one. Upon our entrance into the room, my wife noticed multiple bed bugs crawling on the bed. We called the owner (Costas, the husband) to view the situation. He looked (as well as another guest) and told me how they have never had bed bugs before, but acknowledged that he saw them, and then said, "what can I say?".||My wife and I left since we had no desire to sleep on a bed with active crawling bed bugs. We had paid over $1000 for the 3 night stay. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in 4-5 star accommodations and have never had to write a negative review. And yes, this Chateau was highly recommended, so we did not go into booking this Chateau blindly. We figured that when the owner's wife (Alison) came home later that night, that we would talk to her and get a reassurance that this was serious and would be handled so someone else didn't have the same experience. We also thought they would give us a full refund. Just the opposite. Nothing but denial that the there was any evidence of bugs. I sent her the pictures and a video. She became extremely rude and denied any refund. Not even an apology. See insert of picture of bed bugs that was taken in the room. ||On top of the bed bug problem, we had a room that was difficult to get up to, an extremely old lumpy mattress and stairs up to a bathroom with no railing up and around the landing. Very dangerous. See other photo.||We made a last-minute reservation at the Le Vieux Castillon, which was about 20 minutes away, and it could not have been nicer. Fabulous hotel. Very Clean and service was impeccable.

Absolutely stunning chateau in a quiet village surrounded by vineyards. Words cannot do the chateau justice. The courtyard pool combined with beautifully furnished rooms, an incredible communal living area and kitchen plus the wonderful hosts who are extremely welcoming and helpful whilst discreet and leave you to enjoy your holiday make this place the gem that it is. The decorations, furnishings and history of the chateau are incredible. The surrounding villages are sleepy (we did go off season, but this also meant that we were lucky enough to have the chateau to ourselves) but Uzes is a 30minute drive away and is a glorious bustling little town with some great food and everything that you need. A simply Glorious spot to read, relax, walk between vineyards and sample a few too many bottles of local wine.
