Wow! I really thought the garden roses, huge hydrangeas & Lisanthus were not real until I got closer to them. It was so beautiful. I had to order them for my daughter’s engagement floral arrangements & it was amazingly gorgeous. The colors & quality was amazing, perfectly matched what I envisioned.

Such a cute shop! They have gifts, housewares, and more. Great candle and other scent collection if you’re looking to enhance the smell of a friend’s or your own home. The people there are nice, too.

Chateau Sonoma is the Art of the French Lifestyle. Meaningful gatherings, self care, the quest for meaningful treasures are a few examples of this lifestyle in the architectural beautiful Sonoma Square. Entering the store, you are taken into a world of beautiful French antiques that are selected in France by store representatives, for their unique appeal and the stories they can tell. You will also find self care products in keeping with this lifestyle. Chateau Sonoma also offers events throughout the year. Recently, they had their yearly French Flea Market event, and book signings with well known authors come to the shop. The store is a celebration of all things French, and is pure joy to explore.

This store is a Time Machine and a teleportation booth. Here the Antiques are mixed with modern items in a delicious tasteful cocktail of carefully curated pieces. There is no better place for a gift with French flair to sophistication and charm. It is a treat for all of your five senses, well, with exception for biting the merchandise…. However, there are soups if somebody can’t help it.

Google
Beautiful store. I wouldn't call it an antique shop. They beautifully chosen design elements for the home.

I've been following their account on Instagram for years so loved stumbling across them today while visiting Sonoma! Absolutely gorgeous!

Google
Lovely store with lots of beautiful, unique housewares, antiques, and French decor. Pricey, but fun to shop in anyway.

I was here 3 weeks ago visiting from CO. I came to visit my sister and we came in here to browse. As I walked further in, I noticed there were some luxury soaps on the table (for men and also for women). There was one that i absolutely loved..Mistral Salted Gin. I went ahead and bought it. I was hoping you had a website so I can purchase more. Anyway.. it was very beautiful inside.

Yelp
Absolutely love this store, so I make the ninety-minute drive to come shop here. There are so many treasures from home decor to specialty food items. During the 2024 Christmas season, they held a small artisan fair outside in the store's backyard garden. Everything sold was quality, and I believe local. When I come, I purchase many gifts and recipients always love what I give them. I also appreciate the friendly service provided here. I especially appreciate that the staff doesn't hover or push sales.

Yelp
I love this store . The third location they have now settled into and it's perfect. The inventory does vary , for sure & not only do they curate from France , they feature many local artist and craftsman / woman. . The flea markets are so fun and often have a crepe maker and other surprises. I have bought so many gifts here , not just for the uniqueness & quality, but for the wrapping as well. . They carried Juliska for years , they have moved away from this . The towels are sublime ! The bath sheets , true luxury. Also , I like the skin care , it's mostly french and really good . Great candles , honeys , salts , books , glassware, jewelry, that u want it all ! And much more ! Check it out !

Yelp
My husband and I walked into the store in Sonoma , it looked lovely from outside . I expected it to be expensive after all its Sonoma ! 2 customers one being me , the sales person was helping a young woman but never looked up, spoke to us , never the less welcomed us . Very rude we looked around a little , still nothing ! Not so impressed with Chateau Sonoma won't be back .

Yelp
I think I officially found my happy place. Château Sonoma is chock full of artisan home goods and gorgeous imports from France. Stop in for the art alone both framed and unframed. Fell in love with the antique French menu. Didn't get a chance to check out the garden because the shop closes at 5:30 but it's just a good excuse to come back again.

Yelp
Love the French influence. When I think French furniture or other French items, I think of this place. I even drive here from the east bay

Yelp
Beautiful store! Love the vintage and new items that they carry here. They used to be in the Cornerstone over off Arnold. You can find them on the Sonoma Square proper now. They have a French flea market they host as well as a monthly champagne club

Yelp
Darn, I bit of a bummer as I had been expecting to walk into a container straight from France. Instead I found a Restoration Hardware sort of store with little antique or one of a kind finds, just more soaps and scents and standard home store decor. Maybe inventory is low right now, but I really was disappointed not to find something more extraordinary, qua qua!

Yelp
Love this escape to France , right here in Sonoma . Been trading w these lovely folks for years , never ever been overcharged . Really bothersome when a mistake is blown up like it was intentional. These folks have integrity . Just such a well stocked boutique with unique finds . Some reviews mention , they do indeed travel France & score wonderful goods . I love it all !! The linens I invested in a few years ago & all look new still , high quality . I also think great shop for gifts . Wonderful books , bath and body products , bar supplies , furniture , so many more items . I am obsessed w the gloves , from a shopkeeper in the mission in SF . I have bought many pairs for gifts , just gorgeous, Most are fingerless . W lovely embellishments & people always compliment them when weather allows . All the shops in cornerstone are fun . Beautiful place to stroll and lounge and SHOP !! The owners are also the proprietors of Ramekins cooking school , fabulous school / Inn Great classes and beautiful property .

Yelp
Amazing store. Great variety of items for the house and garden. Including all Coyuchi linens you can imagine. They are nestled on the cornerstone property and you can see other shops and dine and drink while you are here. Love this place.

Yelp
Beautiful little store full of so many quaint and gorgeous things from over the world and locally: leather furniture, e.g. little club chairs, jewelry artisan-made, artfully displayed in a many wondered sort of way, things falling over themselves but perched as if for ogling over. The woman at the front was very welcoming, beautiful smile, and it didn't hurt that at her side, was this adorable older golden retriever, just hanging out and chilling. So many people in there, no masks on because of our new CA edict, and for a minute, it actually felt like "what pandemic?" I saw antiques of every imaginable sort with throws and candles, and scents, the back had what seemed were statues or busts of some kind. This is a place to get lost in and not come into while looking at your watch, it's a place to allow your fantasy take you into another world, which is what it actively is: another world.

Yelp
Chateau Sonoma is a good block off the Plaza and worth the walk over to check it out. There's lots of pretty and pricey stuff inside, with a nice selection of larger pieces outside, and a pleasant fragrance throughout. When I dragged Gayle over here, she asked - Does this mean that you're taking me to France? My response is that we needed to work on Italy a little more first. In the meantime, this sort of Gaulist retail therapy would have to do.

Yelp
A lot of things are better when they are French, like kissing, and sometimes toast if you're in that sort of mood. Antiques and collectibles are not necessarily better when they are French, but French antiques are extremely charming, and the selection at Chateau Sonoma is excellent. Everything (a combination of antiques, collectibles, and imports) seems very lovingly chosen and is artfully displayed. It's high priced, but also fairly priced. I recommend visiting this store if you love quaint French stuff and have oodles of money. Minus two stars: The air was so thick with perfume, I had to leave sooner than I wanted to for fear of passing out and crashing into and crushing some enchanting (expensive) antique.

Yelp
Really super over priced but so beautiful and cute. The location is perfect, i think there are items you can find for a lot less else where (ebay) but the store has an old antique French feel which i enjoyed. The shop is beautiful, i think 250.00 for an old French bucket is too much as i found a similar item online for 110.00, you just have to be a savvy shopper and find deals. The stationary items here were cute too, the service was friendly and warm.

Yelp
First I fell in love with this place on instagram when we first moved up to Sonoma! We finally were able to go in the shop on Memorial Day. The shop is so incredibly beautiful and inspiring :) We bought so old vintage numbers for our new home and some awesome handmade vases for the dinner table. I wanted so much more to come home with us but maybe next time. The owner is such a lovely woman who you can tell is passionate about what she does. I left feeling inspired and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Buyers beware! I stopped by this place when I was wine tasting with a few friends at Meadowcroft Wines. I ended up purchasing a $30 candle and $10 dollar soap. A month later, I saw that Chateau Sonoma charged me ~$300 dollars for my purchase. This is EXTREMELY SHADY. Thankfully, I was able to connect with my bank and they helped met set up a dispute with Chateau Sonoma and ask for the $260 back. However, I will NEVER go back and shop there again. This happened back in February 2017 - so they need to either work on their shady practice or figure out if it was an employee who accidentally charged wayyyy more (even though I have the receipt to prove that they charged me accurately when I signed the receipt).

Yelp
Love their annual French Flea Market which has multiple sellers. It's small, but a lovely place to browse while French music plays. I always find a few treasures and look forward to it every year. I've never had a bad experience, and I attend every year.

Yelp
Love the French perfumes and lotions they have and I keep finding treasures in the shop, cocktail napkins, candles, invitations, table cloth and so much more.

Yelp
Went to Sonoma the other day and happened upon the annual Flea Market at Chateau Sonoma. After browsing the outdoor vendors and buying nothing (too expensive) I went to check out the store. A musician outdoors was talented and very charming so I bought both of his CD's. Inside found a couple of items that were placed on hold while I went into the backyard to check out other vendors.I saw a couple of pieces that i was interested in, but no prices. A nice young lady said she would check on that for me and asked if I wanted to look around the yard at other vendors while I waited and get back to me. I found a great assemblage artist and bought several pieces from him, then the trip around the small yard turned into a nightmare. I went back to see the young lady getting prices for me and she told me what I needed. I began to pay for one of the items and take it with me (the other needed to be pid for inside and was too heavy to carry) when another woman came up and said that I couldn't buy the item I was just paying for! Then a guy (not with the store) started to give me a real finger wagging and very loudly told me that another man had been waiting for a price on the same item. I was told that I could not buy it even though I was already handing the money over. No one came up while I was there to let me know that someone else was waiting for it. I had been standing there for a good 10 minutes so this was quite surprising to me. The man who was apparently waiting for a price had been standing ten or more feet away and never approached me, while it was obvious that I was standing next to the item and the salesgirl working with me was getting it ready for me to take. The woman who was waiting on him suggested that I buy another wine crate, which I declined. I told her that I only wanted that particular one since I was planning on giving it to someone special who had arranged for a tour of family owned wineries for me in Burgundy,France last year. I wanted to give him something special to show my gratitude since that trip was my first after loosing my husband. It would have made a wonderful gift for him. I walked out very humiliated and upset and didn't get the rest of my purchases! The store lost over $1,000 on that miserably failed transaction! I have never encountered such a rude person as that outside vendor. He wouldn't let up! I will never shop there again and quite frankly will let my friends know to stay away. Much of everything is UNMARKED and this created a BIG problem for some people who need to know the price of things. I was willing to pay their price no matter what. If I like it, and it's the right price, I buy it! Hope you have success in your business, but eliminate the outside vendors who have a poor attitude, they have harmed your business more than you know! I will shop and spend my money somewhere else!

Yelp
I'm local and I make an effort to spend money locally becuase Sonoma means a great deal to me and I feel privileged to live here. But I'm also youngish looking and I guess that when I wandered into this shop they thought I was some sort of angsty youngster who would not be spending money. The woman working- I felt like she was watching me intently but offering no help. The store itself has some things I did like but it felt like I shouldn't touch anything. Too many head trips in this store. I bought my mom a gift in Baksheesh, like usual.

Yelp
I was one of the lucky visitors to the French Flea Market at Chateau Sonoma over Memorial Day weekend. What an awesome experience. Charming ambiance, unique and eclectic items and welcoming, affordable vendors. The attention to detail was obvious. A fabulous French musician to greet us, a tiny French truck out front and thoughtful staff whom provided exceptional customer service. I came home with items that I will treasure and they were VERY affordable. You are in for a French adventure when you visit Chateau Sonoma.

Yelp
Loved the space...so many things to see. The French soaps filled the air with fragrance. Storekeeper was chic and welcoming.

Yelp
Wow! What a great experience...From the moment We set eyes on the Flea Market and chateau Sonoma we knew that we were in for a treat. After traveling to flea markets in France this is the closest we've come to the real thing. From authentic antiques like grain sacks and birdcages, unique one of a kind pieces, beautiful chandeliers wonderful buffets and even a french tower clock this store has it all! We found the staff very organized and knowledgeable and went out of their way to help us. Oh! And the best soaps and candles this side of the Atlantic!

Joan O.

Yelp
This is simply the most amazing French antique source in the county! Sarah, the owner, travels to Paris and the French countryside to gather amazingly beautiful and authentic French antiques and complements her look with fabulous bijoux of all kinds. It's well worth the drive from San Francisco to check out what she has in stock. Be prepared to spend some $$$; this is the real deal! But remember: she has done the travel and selecting for you!

Yelp
From the moment I met the owner of Chateau Sonoma at a gift show, I was impressed with her taste for unique items and also by her kind spirit. Upon visiting her boutique, we were even more impressed by her sense of style and aesthetics. My business partner and I are also importers of European antiques and were just delighted with this store, and again with her personality and genuine demeanor. Aside from the beauty of the store, there is such an air of authenticity and warmth. There is elegance without affectation, and there is friendliness that feels real, not a manipulation so that you buy something. We recently participated in the annual event French Flea Market, where Chateau Sonoma brings together a group of vendors who focus on European antiques. This is an event which not only provides a venue for these vendors to showcase and sell their treasures, but also one that adds to the beauty of the community and promotes local business as hundreds of people come to experience this magical event. Those who have traveled to France and other European antique fairs and flea markets get to experience this unique, festive event. We heard so many positive comments from Sonoma residents as well as visitors about this experience. Smiles and looks of wonder and joy were rampant, and it made our weekend. Many small cities over time lose the sense of togetherness as less community events take place, so I think the folks of Chateau Sonoma deserve much credit for not only creating a beautiful store, but also adding to the sense of community, which we need so much. Kudos! Keep up the great work! Trinidad Castro Owner of Atelier de Campagne
