We had rooms with a view of the pool and the treetops, which was especially nice at sunset. Otherwise, the hotel was rather mediocre. The bikes (rather poor quality) cost over 10€ per bike per day and the staff seems very disinterested and put upon. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very gloomy and the breakfast rather poor. In any case, there is hardly any choice. You should also note that you can pay the bill at (except restaurant bills) only cash. This was not pointed out beforehand and with the partly high prices, this is already very poor service.

Nice clean rooms. Quiet property. Loses stars for water. Staff advises do not drink the water, buy a bottle at the bar or go to the grocery. This is not an inexpensive hotel; not offering filtered water seems like a hustle. Also, internet is slow, do not expect to get work done or get on a zoom call using their wifi, but then again it's a small island so that's probably everywhere.

The hotel is 15 min walking distance from the port on the hilly side of the island. Pls choose this hotel if yo want calm and quite resort. |The pool is nice and big enough. |Breakfast and dinner plenty and varied. They always have fish in the menu.|Beaches are approx 10-15 min away by bike. You have to pay for the bikes on the contrary it is not a cheap hotel.|The quality of the bikes are vary.|Rooms are big wth balcony, air conditioner and vents. |Staff is nice, friendly. |Wifi is only available in the restaurant and connection is very poor.|Hotel also offer diving, snorkeling and whole day programs.||

Lovely colonial historic building set amidst a lush garden away from the main town road and hustle bustle of the tourists. It is a quiet location but you need some form of transport to get to the restaurants or beaches. There is bicycle rental available. The room we chose was a Superior over looking the swimming pool. Several steps lead uo to the accommodation giving it a good vantage point over the garden and was one of the last rooms to have sun when it sets. It was spacious and old colonial style. Bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom was spacious but the shower needed a little updating. There was a spacious veranda. Staff were friendly, accommodating and engaged in conversation . The owner was a very likeable sixth generation of the original owner. The dining experience wasn't uplifting. The room was dark and very lacking in soul. The food was average but would benefit from labelling so you know what is what. Beverages in particular wine were OK but not to a 'Chateau' standard.||There was one concern regarding a health and safety issue. There were a number of mosaic tiles missing from the swimming pool especially on the edge of the steeps leading into the pool. These were underwater and could easily be missed but which exposed some rather sharp edges. These could easily cut skin so beware!

The owner is a very rude older woman. She is bossy and she is mean. One of the staff kept putting my things away and after asking several times to stop doing it she still did it. I could not find my important belongings anywhere. Also we were supposed to have bikes and we got not bikes for the whole week except the last day and the condition of the bikes were horrific. It was hard to get by by the bikes. It's faster to walk than on the bike. And I'm from the Netherlands I'm am expert cycler. The hotel looks nice the garden and the pool but the service is really bad.

La Digue is a very small island and there are very limited good properties and Chateau St. Cloud is one of them. I have given 5 star rating to this hotel only because La Digue does not have much properties. This hotel is like 10 minutes drive from Jetty. The rooms were clean but do not expect modern structure. The hotel has become quite old now and has not been revamped with modern equipment. But, it still offers a pleasant stay. The food is good and they mostly arrange for live music in evenings. Very well planted. On the island, one can only roam through bicycles and the hotel provided you the facility to hire them. Overall, its a good experience.

The rooms were really nice but the variety at the breakfast buffet was a bit sparce and low quality for the given price of the stay. Bicycle rental was for 100scr/d but the bikes almost fell apart (there were new ones delivered but we couldn't get the new ones). The beach is 5min drive with the bike.

My room at this hotel was spacious and overlooked both the swimming pool and lush garden. it was exactly what i needed to unwind as i sat in the balcony. dinner was freshly prepared and full of flavour. the steamed rice, lentils and vegetables were cooked straight from the heart. breakfast was also wholesome. overall a good experience at the hotel!
