Villas St Pierre de Serjac, near Beziers, Langedoc - Explore & Book

"The team here have a winning formula: family-friendly villas set on a stunning estate with private pools, plenty of land to explore, and a bar and restaurant on site for frazzled parents. Older children can explore to their hearts' content, whilst mums and dads can kick back and appreciate the spa, tennis court and vineyard views from the infinity pool. There is no compromise on style, with super-elegant Gallic interiors, Smeg appliances in the kitchens, ample wardrobe space for even the most indecisive fashionista, and ensuite bathrooms for all bedrooms.Days are spent exploring this authentically French corner of the Languedoc: vineyards, rolling hills, sleepy villages and chateaux at every turn. Held every Saturday, a visit to nearby Pézenas market is a must for nose-tingling cheeses, and it's only 40 minutes to the seaside. Kids' activities are laid on in summer, and they’ll be making firm friends; fellow guests who we met were already booking dates for the next year. Choose a villa with a private pool, and you might not want to leave at all. Highs Families are warmly welcomed (we think best for ages 5 and up), with tennis, ping pong, bikes, kids clubs in the school holidays and more. (If you prefer a calmer vibe, stay in the chateau itself which is adults only)A great cocktail bar, fine restaurant and swanky spa take the hassle out of finding these holiday luxuries elsewhereYou can choose from a range of villas, from 2 bedrooms to 4, plus a 1-bedroom apartmentAbout half the villas have private heated pools – a rare luxury in resorts of this type (and most are gated too)Another godsend is that they can be flexible on arrival and departure days Lows You may feel nervous unleashing your family in the elegantly styled villas – an end of stay cleaning service is available! For those with toddlers (or older guests with mobility issues), most villas have lots of stairsThis is a working winery, so expect some noise from September harvest farm machineryIt's not cheap, plus extras like meals and activities add up...Popular in peak times, you'll need to book ahead for these; or try their sister properties Chateau Les Carrasses and Chateau Capitoul" - Kate Parsons

Chateau St Pierre de Serjac, near Béziers, Languedoc, France - Explore & Book

"Sweeping down the drive to Chateau St Pierre de Serjac, you know you're in for a real treat. 220 acres of lush vineyards flank your journey, and as you turn the final corner you're faced with whimsical turrets and grand, historic splendour. It is a seriously impressive building. Originally restored in 1896, the chateau was once again renovated in 2016 to become a luxury boutique hotel. There are now 8 guest bedrooms, including one-of-a-kind La Chapelle (the original family's personal chapel) on the top floor. Opulently decorated with sparkling chandeliers and full shutters, plus beautiful views across the heated infinity pool and vineyards, they're a cool respite from the summer heat or a cosy retreat in winter. There's a very personalised atmosphere; staff are really friendly, most of them locals. The midnight-blue restaurant is chic, its food imaginative and beautifully presented. There's also a cocktail bar, an airy spa and a full-size Masterclay tennis court. Days are spent exploring this authentically French corner of the Languedoc: vineyards, rolling hills, sleepy villages and chateaux at every turn. And with 3 airports all an easy drive away, this is a perfect candidate for a relaxed short break living la belle vie. Highs Perfect for a romantic weekend or special occasionDecadent, spacious bedrooms with antique mirrors, heavy chandeliers, velvet chaise longues and roll-top bathsMasses of space both indoors and out, including sunny spots in the grounds to hide awayFoodies will love the sophisticated fare: brandade of cod with snails, roasted pigeon with confit apples in an arabica-coffee jus A Mediterranean-inspired spa with indoor pool and Cinq Mondes treatments Lows The estate is also home to 36 s/c villas, popular with families in school holidays. In summer, the main pool may get busy (though 17 of the villas have private pools), and the hotel vibe isn't so intimateFull pre-payment 60 days prior to arrival, and rates don't include breakfast or spa entryNo extra beds; the hotel is a tranquil haven aimed at adults (0-2 years olds in cots are welcome)You'll need a car to get here and to make the most of the areaDinner is delicious but formal. If you're staying a few nights in low season and want something more relaxed, you'll need to drive or cycle out; in summer there's a more casual terrace menu, too" - Kate Parsons

"Château St Pierre de Serjac was occupied by its original owner’s family through 2011, and the family’s former bedrooms have been updated and turned into eight spacious hotel rooms. Charming older details remain, including marble fireplaces, hand-painted wallpaper, gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and arched wooden doorways. All have a mix of antique furnishings and contemporary decor, king-sized beds, and Nespresso machines; higher-end rooms have freestanding vintage tubs." - Tablet Hotels

We spent an amazing 3 days/nights at Chateau St Pierre de Serjac. Our accommodation was in the main house where we had a beautiful spacious bedroom - furnished very authentically French style but with all modern conveniences (e.g. air con, wifi etc). The facilities were fantastic (pool is exceptional, and the views from it spectacular, the spa is excellent, the setting of the outdoor restaurant was lovely and the food and wine were excellent too). Almost more importantly, the staff were excellent. They were friendly and efficient and really made our stay. From the guy who checked us in at reception to every member of staff we met in the restaurant, bar and spa. The wine tour with Liz was also relaxed and very enjoyable. All in all we had a wonderful stay and I look forward to getting the opportunity to go back!

An extraordinary find while traveling to see some of France's most beautiful villages. This Chateau was a wonderful surprise. There was a large wedding with guests from Ireland that weekend. The Chateau staff advised us well in advance that the restaurant and bar would not be available but take out service was. They treated us to a large 3 bedroom 3 bath Villa with a private pool which was a big upgrade from what we booked. Upon arrival they served us cool white wine and complimentary dinner delivered to the villa. There was also a bottle of red wine waiting for us in the Villa. Everything was first class. So many surprises and they didn't even know we were celebrating 42 years of marriage. Only regret was not staying longer.

The château, the pool, and the landscape are stunning. We were in love with the view. Walking around the hotel, the vineyards, and the area in general is a beautiful experience. The hotel provides a bottle of wine upon arrival, and the quality of the wine is excellent. However, we were not allowed to drink the wine outside of our room, even though it was their own product. We ended up paying an extra 10 euros to enjoy it with our meal, which was a bit disappointing. The staff were very kind and friendly. However, the service was quite slow at times—some waiters did not seem to notice us, even though we had been waving and waiting for quite a while. We were also surprised by the high prices of the activities offered, which seemed quite expensive. In addition, the unsupervised pool closes at 19:00, which feels rather early, especially considering how beautiful the setting is—it makes you want to stay outdoors all day.

Highly recommend spending time at this Chateau. Everything was first class from the communications, our check-in, and our stay. There was a large Irish wedding with a large number of guests taking place that weekend. The Chateau informed us that the restaurant and bar would not be available. They upgraded our room to a large 3 bedroom 3 bath villa with a full kitchen and living room. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with chilled white wine. In the Villa, a bottle of red wine from their vineyards was waiting for us with a lovely welcome note. We were also treated to a complimentary dinner delivered to our room. Little did they know we were celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary. Our only regret was not staying longer.

Another fantastic stay at Chateau St Pierre de Serjac. This time we tried one of the villas, and it was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were amazing, as was the food. We had a very relaxing time by the lovely infinity pool. We will definitely be back to stay, and also to pick up some more of the very tasty Serjac wine.

I found the place casually and did not regret to try the stay. We went in as a family of 3 with a small boy, in low season and though the weather was not very stable we really enjoyed the relaxing and just beautiful spaces of this apart hotel. ||The concept of being able to choose to have a private apartment with kids but to have the services of a hotel right in space makes the whole thing work really well. I loved it and will be back for sure. ||And staff was really nice too. Nice welcome and nice stay. Next time Inwill try to use all facilities, the stay was just to short.||||Thank you, ||Shauna Smith

Stopped off for a lunch in the hope of doing a wine tour/ tasting here. This would appear to require booking in advance as they bring someone in to do it. Whilst the location is very pleasant sat outside in the sun, the plate of meat and cheese served was enjoyable but was uninspiring and service was slow.

Booked a spa day for my wife's birthday, including a massage, access to the facilities, and a lunch. The spa experience was good. The restaurant, on the other hand, was really poor. A main dish of chicken was overcooked, dry, and the sauce bland. The lemon tart dessert was too acidic and poorly executed. Very little love in the kitchen apparently and not to a standard you'd expect. I had initially given this review 3 stars, but the management's response to a similar review, left on Trip Advisor, has convinced me to downgrade. The general manager replied dismissively to justify their disappointing food by saying they use fresh ingredients... that's it, nothing more and rather pathetic. Not knowing what to do with fresh ingredients is evidently unimportant. It shows how little they care. Locals who know the place all pretty much agree it has become a mediocre tourist trap. How right they are. My advice... go elsewhere.
