Terrible experience at Chateau Windsor, Churchgate.
On the very first night, I accidentally dropped my room key in a taxi. When I approached the reception for assistance, the staff behaved in an appalling manner. Instead of providing support, the receptionist grumbled continuously, muttered complaints to other staff, and reluctantly suggested I sleep in a different room. Only after much insistence did he finally open my original room door with a master key — which clearly proves such an option existed from the beginning.
For the rest of my stay, they denied me a replacement key, refused to clean my room, and later threatened to keep my luggage unless I paid ₹4000 for the lost key.
I have since lodged formal complaints with Booking.com, the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), and the Tourism Board of India. This hotel practices harassment, hostility, and intimidation, not hospitality. Strongly advise avoiding it.
