I’d made a note of Chaters after seeing Jamie Oliver mention their pastries on instagram, as I knew we’d be visiting Saffron Walden in the coming months. Well I guess we were a little disappointed to find there were no pastries left and it was a lunch menu only. Needless to say our lunch was still excellent. The quality of ingredients and presentation was sublime. Our waiter was fantastic and they accommodated our fussy three-year old with her request of spaghetti and tomato sauce. I loved the atmosphere in here, nice chilled not too loud music, and surprisingly comfortable. I thought it was reasonably priced for the quality of food too. (We also had delicious bread, not pictured.)

Loved everything about this place! Staff are incredibly friendly and food was divine. We wanted to try everything on the menu so another trip will be planned in the near future.

We almost stumbled into this wonderful place in the lovely town, walking over from Audley End. Super friendly staff. Great dishes. A very hipster atmosphere. A great surprise and absolutely worth the money - expecially the pasta and the Tiramisu!

I love Chater’s. There’s always a great atmosphere inside. The pastries are exceptional. I want to try them all. The coffee is fantastic… and I’m quite fussy about coffee. Best of all every single member of staff (and owner) is a gem. So friendly and attentive. They make you feel so welcome.

You can taste the delicate and heartfelt flavors. The staffs are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. The service and taste at this price are just amazing. My favorite place!

A real treat for a Saturday lunch. Loads of interesting fabulous dishes that were very affordable for the high standard and quality of everything. Very inspiring place if you love good food. Visiting for the first time on a Friday evening. Pre-booking was easy and the welcome was the best yet! As there was 3 of us and we all wanted specific items there was no sharing :( We all had a different Pasta dish, and mine was a simple dish with olive oil and garlic. It tasted great but I have to say it was so loaded with Garlic that I suffered during the night!! May be hold back on it by at least 50%... less is more! Everything else was great! Had another great lunch yesterday (26th March 25)to celebrate a birthday and have a good chat! I just love this place and all the staff are wonderful!

Amazing lunch at this restaurant! Service was super friendly and the food was delicious. We loved it!

This was my first visit of an evening and having waited for a long time, there was great anticipation! We were not disappointed, everything about our evening was top notch. The menu was good, the service great and we were made to feel welcome and special. Thank you, we will be back!
