Chef was incredibly unaccommodating after booking a seven course dinner we were told that we could only have the five course dinner. We were originally O supposed to have a separate seven course menu, but the chef told us he was just carrying over the Valentine’s Day menu which is disappointing so at 8 o’clock on an 8 inch snowy day we learned that we had to rebook our dinner reservations and drive somewhere . The service here is exceptionally inappropriate and I would not recommend this place at all

as you enter Chatham Inn, located in the charming village of the same name...we have stayed in many inns over the years, but this one took our hearts away...it rose right to the top of the list ! I would have a difficult time finding fault with anything...staff is wonderful...each and every one...helpful, supportive, informative..and gracious...interior had been remodeled some years ago with exquiste attention to detail...our room was lovely..small, bright, elegant in a charming way...baths are contemporary and full of everything you need...the outdoor patio an inviting location just to sit and while away moments...happy hour can be spent there with a delicious glass of red or white chosen by the inn to serve. Breakfast is a highlight..a menu full of choices and food was superb. This was for us a memorable inn experience...luxurious, comfortable, appealing and warmth that doesn't end.|thank you all at Chatham Inn...

In 2023 my wife and I firs stayed at the Inn because of our past experiences with the Ralais and Chateaux brand in our travels throughout the world. Our second reason for staying at the Inn was t see if it meet our standards for a planned family gathering this year. It was, in fact, everything that we were looking for. |We have just returned after a four day stay with our family and it was perfect. From the facility it self to the service provided we were all thrilled with the experience. We wish to express a special thanks to the incredible staff for their attentiveness to our every needs. If one is looking for an alternative to the larger resorts available in Chatham, this Inn is a perfect choice.

Exactly what you hope for from a high-end Inn.||Our room (4) was an oasis of calm when we returned in the evening with low level lights, soothing music playing and air temperatures at exactly the right level. The bed was very comfortable and, whilst a little on the small side, the bathroom was full of luxury products. The shower was excellent.||A complimentary glass of wine on the veranda each evening was much appreciated and this was also a nice place to have an early morning coffee, watching the world go about its business. ||Breakfast was really good with high quality food and beverages. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings for dinner in Cuveé, the on-site restaurant, one evening. This was a great experience.||The staff really make their guests feel comfortable. Nothing appears to be too much trouble.||If we are ever in the rea again we wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Chatham Inn. Highly recommended.

What a perfect mother-daughter getaway! We stayed in Room 15, a comfortable 2 bedroom suite with plenty of room to unpack and unwind. The Inn itself is ideally located on Main Street--close enough to shops, restaurants and Lighthouse Beach for walking, but far enough from the crowds for Chatham to cast its idyllic, charming spell. So many beautiful cottages with fairy-tale cottage gardens. The hydrangeas! As for Relais & Chateaux's reputation for service, our expectations were exceeded. From the valet to housekeeping to fine dining at Cuvee, the Chatham Inn staff was unfailingly professional, resourceful and friendly. A special thank you to Dane, Oona and Rebecca for helping us make my daughter's birthday a memorable one. We will be back.

We arrived to an empty bar at 6.15 p.m. We asked likely if we could sit outside and we told that we could not. We couldn’t sit down inside either. I asked what the problem was. He said that the bar was open only to residents. The hotel was pretty empty. I asked if we could please sit down given that fact and order six cocktails, please (there were 6 of us). No was the answer. Ultimately, he said that the bar had closed at 6 pm. I just don’t believe him. If you’re not a resident, don’t bother frequenting this place, as they do not seem to want your business.

Beautiful landscaping with hydrangeas everywhere! We stayed in a waterfront cottage with secure gate, seashell base parking lot, beautiful landscaping, and a great view of beach, boats, San bars and seals. Room was spacious, clean, and private. Customer service was wonderful throughout the Inn, and guest are allowed to stay all day after checking out to use the Inn’s amenities. We will be going back!

Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!|And dinner at Cuvee was excellent. Lots of wonderful choices and the preparation and presentation were great. Breakfast was also great. Location was also perfect being so close to the town and able to walk their easily. So, all in all, a very nice play to stay.

Yelp
This review is jumping on someone else's review. We stayed here under a different name, The Cranberry Inn, 25 years ago for our honeymoon. We came back for our 20th. We knew it changed hands and saw online how much it changed but still decided to come back. Soooo.. The room was like a closet, the bathroom you probably can do a couple of functions at once due to the size of it. Every night was a dance trying to get into bed without hitting my head on the TV that hangs on the wall. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! The first time we stayed here we stayed in a much larger room, but it was not available when we booked this trip. The hotel lobby seems kind of cold. Before all the renovations it was a warm, welcoming space. Will we come back? Most likely because it is very sentimental to us, but we will never stay in that tiny room ever again.

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but I have to be honest. There are really two competing factors here. The service is about the best I've ever seen. The staff works hard to find out everyone's names. They even cleaned my sunglasses when I left it in the room and put a lens cleaning wipe next to it as well. On the flipside, our room was extraordinarily small - especially for the price point. We're talking tiny New York bedroom small where there's hardly room for more than a bed and nightstand. The bathroom is also minuscule with barely a free inch of space. Hardly what I can call 5 stars - at best 3 stars, and I'm being generous here. Yes, the rooms are renovated. But the house is 200 yrs old and you can't make a 5 ft bathroom feel like a palace no matter how much marble you slap on the walls. So I settled on a 4 to balance both sides. But I would honestly say, once again, that the service was some of the best I've ever experienced at a hotel. And that might keep me coming back - maybe in a bigger room, though.

Yelp
We chose Chatham Inn because of its Relaix and Chateaux affiliation, and it did not disappoint. We had fresh flowers in our room, a welcome drink, a very comfortable bed, and an amazing shower. Peter and Kathy were very hospitable and made us feel at home. Their complementary breakfast is a sit-down "order from the menu" breakfast that is foodie-approved. During our stay, Chatham Inn had a partnership with Volvo that allowed us to test drive a brand new Volvo SUV (XC90) to neighboring towns, and that was a pleasant surprise. Within walking distance to Chatham Inn is the Chatham Lighthouse beach, a gorgeous beach that you'll likely have all to yourself during the late fall season. Our only regret was that we didn't make a reservation to dine at their restaurant outside of our complimentary breakfast.

Yelp
I booked a stay here on valentines weekend for my wife's birthday, and I have to say I was truly blown away. I've stayed at many 5 star hotels before and my stay at the Chatham Inn is by the best experience I've ever had. I literally can't recommend this place enough. I've spent a fair amount of career as a director for a market research firm and one of things we would preach is that differentiating on customer experience is key to winning in this age of the customer. Let me tell you, the Chatham inn literally puts on a master class from the moment you arrive. Arrival- I stumble into the lobby through the wrong entrance and the maitre d Lyn greets me by name and says we've been expecting you. (I was so blown away that she new my name, it made me feel so valued) Then when I went back to get my wife, Una met us on the walk path and helped us with our bags. (So nice!) Then Sherri the restaurant manager greeted us as well and let us know our dinner reservations were good to go. Then Lyn and Una both helped us to our beautiful room with the fire place where wine was on ice next to beautiful roses and chocolate that I ordered for my wife. By the time we relaxed we felt like we just arrived to stay with some friends. Literally everyone knew our names. Such awesome check in experience. Then the wife and I hopped out to get dinner, by the time we got back housekeeping had went in and tidied up our room. This was literally the best check in experience I've ever had. Dinner - so the next night I booked the 7 course Valentine's Day tasting. This was absolutely amazzzzingg. While we waiting for dinner, we had a wonderful conversation with Una, then Felix the beverage manner came over recommend some wine with dinner (side note h is so friendly and his wine reccos are spot on. I made a wine selection prior to arrival and he called and recommend a different one which was exactly what I was looking for!!), then Sherri the restaurant manager came over again just to check in with us, and then Kayla came over made sure we were all set as well. This all happened while we waited in the lobby for dinner... amazing. So when we got inside, we were greeted/seated by the owner Jeff (such a nice touch to see the owner working side by side with everyone). Then the waitress team was amazing. Our main waitress was Luz who was awesomeeeee. So thoughtful and friendly. But to be fair so was Elena, and Shawn. Shawn even had some wine sent back to the room for us to enjoy after dinner. Then Chef Isaac did the rounds and greeted all the guest. I could literally go on for days about how amazing my stay was. How this place got anything less than a 5 star review is mind blowing. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Thank you to Lyn, Una, Felix, Sherri, Luz, Shawn, Elena, and Kayla for making our stay a special one. Jeff you have a great team!

Yelp
Very friendly Inn keepers and attentive to needs. Room was nice with a fireplace, chocolate treats near the bed, Nespresso machine was delicious. Bathroom was nice with large soaking tub. Shower had a lot of pressure where the overhead spray actually hurt so i used the handheld instead. Delicious breakfast in the morning with juice, croissants, coffee and your choice of meal. I gave 4 stars because the bed was horribly uncomfortable and tilted back so when you lay down your feet are angled up and head tilted back. I would have hoped for either pillow top mattress or some sort of tempurpedic rather than hard spring mattress.

Yelp
Had a wonderful evening at Cuvee celebrating our daughters' birthday. The tasting menu was delicious and they were very accommodating of our sons' narrow diet. The wait staff were on point and acknowledged her birthday several times. Thanks for a memorable evening!

Yelp
The warm personal greetings upon our arrival set the right tone for the rest of our visit. We were VERY pleased with the exceptional service & care we received during our stay. It made us feel as if we were heads of state. Every staff member with whom we came in contact was attentive, courteous, kind and paid attention to detail (e.g. everyone had smiles on their faces). The Inn itself is beautifully decorated, including an outside firepit. The rooms are cozy, romantic, and very clean. Having a fireplace in the room was a big bonus for this Florida girl!! You melt right into the awesome sheets after a wonderful day of sightseeing AND I love the slippers and robes that they provide. (They pay attention to every detail including different kinds of bed pillows to your liking). Morning breakfast was yummy and fantastic, the menu was very diverse to make anyone happy. The Inn is very close to shopping, sights, and beautiful houses. The beach is right down the street too. Don't skip the Chatham Inn at 359, it was a delightful experience.

Yelp
PROS: 1. The staff are wonderful: smiles all around, from the chambermaids to the breakfast room wait staff to the desk clerks. 2. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. 3. The bathrooms have been recently updated and the shower is first rate. 4. The included breakfast is fabulous: omelettes with wild mushrooms and microgreens, poached eggs on hash browns with salmon and hollandaise, fresh juice, bread basket with croissants and muffins, excellent coffee--not your usual included breakfast, all served in a lovely cozy dining room. 5. Coffee and fantastic cookies are put out every afternoon for guests. 6. During our stay, the inn was replacing the old noisy window A/C units with brand new presumably quieter, more efficient units. CON (and the reasons I'm withholding a star): When we arrived, we discovered that the front entrance was closed off with warning tape because a new wheelchair ramp was being installed. The wine bar was closed as well because there was no access from the street. That didn't bother us much although we would have appreciated a warning when we booked. When we returned to our room on our second day, we found big boxes of new air conditioners stacked on our private porch. It was a small enough porch to begin with so we felt that we should have been asked if it was OK to fill it with boxes. The next morning we were awakened at 7:30 by loud voices in the parking lot (right below our windows) accompanied by the sounds of equipment being off-loaded and hand-trucked into the inn. This was followed by the sounds of installation crews walking down the hall outside our room, talking loudly and knocking on doors. On the plus side, the owners clearly take great care of this property and invest a lot in maintaining and updating it. Everything is shipshape. But we felt that management had an obligation to inform us that we would be experiencing the inconvenience of construction during our stay. When you charge $369 a night, it's what you should do.

Yelp
A wonderful week at the Chatham Inn! Very happy with clean, quiet, cozy room #9, very comfortable bed, nice shower, interior shutters with view of Main Street. Staff is attentive and friendly, wonderful restaurant (breakfast included with room), extras like evening turn down and clean up of the room while you're out to dinner in addition to the normal daily room service. Innkeeper, Lyn, is always available and the staff is full of suggestions where to go in the area. Did I mention great chef with attention to detail!

Aileen W.

Yelp
We had the most amazing stay at the Chatham Inn. We had lovely few days. We will return for sure on our next Cape Cod journey. Lyn and team were so hospitable. The breakfast was amazing and so much more than you would typically find at a small inn or BnB. The wine bar was great and we loved the afternoon cookies and coffee. The rooms are well appointed and it was quiet and relaxing. It is walking distance to everything in Chatham.

Eddie M.

Yelp
A beautiful venue with some delicious food! I was very impressed by the selections at the wine bar. The staff made us feel comfortable and taking care of. Looking forward to our next visit!

Derek A.

Yelp
This place is really good. I loved it. It lady who runs it is damn good. A real pro. They have done an amazing renovation and as a result the rooms have the cozy warmth of an old bed and breakfast while still feeling new and modern somehow. Also my omelet in the morning was really good. All around great experience here, I would highly recommend it.

Marisa H.

Yelp
My family and I came here last night and it was fantastic! The potstickers were amazing and everyone else said their food was great as well. I would definitely recommend.

Gary D.

Yelp
We had dinner there. The waiter and service was very good. But the food is not worth the money. It's very expensive, the portions are very small and the flavor was not memorable. I was very disappointed. The duck burger was good and the charcuterie was good but came with only 3 pieces of meat, small and minimum pieces of cheese. My entree was supposed to be shrimp and scallops - there were I think three of each piled on top of each other with some rice. The cost was $38. The rice was fluffy and good. For dessert, the carrot cake was supposed to be a special by the chef. It was not special. I think perhaps this is a better place to spend the night and/or to have a drink. For $200 - I expect more.

Yelp
My wife and I grew up in Massachusetts and vacationed most summers in our favorite town on the Cape; Chatham. We moved to California in 1996 and always wanted to come back to Chatham. We often walked past the Cranberry Inn and saw that it was renovated and resurfaced as 359 Main St. We knew we picked the right place when we received a welcome email the day before we were to arrive telling us about check in, where to park, offering to check in early if room was available or dropping off the luggage and getting acquainted to the area. Kellee could not be more friendly, helpful and professional. The room was great and the breakfast phenomenal. Unfortunately the wine bar was closed due to improvements but it looked very inviting. This will be our new go to place when we visit Chatham.

Meg L.

Yelp
From start to finish had a WONDERFUL stay at Chatham Inn! Stayed here last minute for one night at the end of our honeymoon. we worked with Brandy and Jeff who were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Because it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to a room with a spa bathroom which was amazing- probably the best shower I have taken in my life! The room was very updated and very clean. Our king sized bed was incredibly comfortable! The Inn also had really nice little touches like leaving us chocolates in the room and doing turn down service while we were gone at dinner! We also enjoyed a cup of espresso in the morning with our own machine in the room! Although we had a short stay we were able to grab a drink at the bar- the bartender was very friendly and they had an excellent selection of wines. Would recommend this Inn to all of our family and friends!

Bryce H.

Yelp
This was our first time coming to Chatham and decided to stay at 359 Main. From the moment we entered the door we were greeted by smiling faces and wonderful attitudes. Jeff and Kayla were very helpful with the surrounding area, the rooms were beautiful and the breakfast blew me away (crab cake + hollandaise + poached egg). We will certainly be coming back and recommend this to anyone looking to get away in beautiful Cape Cod!

Jack M.

Yelp
I needed a place to stay on short notice, 24 hours, and asked a frequent Cape Cod visitor for a recommendation in the town of Chatham. She suggested 389 Main as a "cheap and cheerful" B&B sort of place. I was surprised to find that it was much more than that. As it was off season the restaurant was closed the night I was there but the menu looked promising and when I arrived the staff could not have been more helpful. Room was elegantly appointed, spacious, beautiful bathroom, and a fireplace that worked. Location is within walking distance of just about everything and even though it was November there were a few restaurant options. Next morning full breakfast included with fresh baked croissants. This Inn is a definite repeat and compared to the Chatham Bars Inn a much better value.

S C.

Yelp
This was my first time staying at a Inn and Chatham did not disappoint me at all. The Inn was so charming and I absolutely loved my room. Your greeted with a warm smile and the feeling of being home. The rooms are immaculate along with the dinning room and the grounds are beautiful. When you return to the Inn at the end of the day there is always cookies and cheese waiting for you. Breakfast is included in your stay and is delicious, unfortunately my only complaint is dinner. We had dinner Saturday night at the Inn, we first had some wine in the bar area where things did not start out well. The manager that night made me feel so uncomfortable the way he was treating his wait staff and bar tender, he was constantly reprimanding them in front of us and was conducting him self as if it was opening night and he had no idea of what he was doing. The restaurant was not crowded people were not waiting for tables so I couldn't understand why he was running around the way he was and so angry. I wanted to leave but my husband insisted we stay. We ate outside which was beautiful, when our dinner came I hate to say it but it was just ok there was nothing special about the dish we both had and for how much your charged I was truly disappointed. Regardless of dinner I will definitely stay at Chatham Inn again.

Woody B.

Yelp
Below average food, interesting staff, somewhat expensive, lots of potential Restaurant: We were told that our reservation got bumped back because the hostess just seated a VIP and his wife at our table (she told us his name but I won't mention) and when we were seated it was fairly obvious that the VIP was not eating there (because it's not too hard to google famous people to get an idea what they look like). This was a little strange to me but I put it aside ready for a good dinner. The waiter gave us a fair warning that the kitchen was a little backed up but the food took far too long to and it had small portions for a large price. FOOD QUALITY BELOW AVERAGE. Waiter very friendly but didn't quite have it together. As we ate, multiple other tables complained about how long this was taking. One customer said that it'd been so long since he ordered that he had actually forgotten what he was going to be eating. As we paid the large check and left, we encountered an emotionally distraught waitress in the lobby getting a pep talk from the receptionist. As this scene was occurring, the hostess from earlier walked out and said "umm there is a fire in the kitchen!" and they all quickly walked into the kitchen. At this point I was more than happy that I was leaving. Once again, beautiful place which has so much potential but they don't quite have it all together.

Lauren S.

Yelp
If you want a fabulous experience staying just a short walk from all the action on Main Street in Chatham, be sure to check out the Inn at 359 Main! The staff is phenomenally welcoming, particularly Kelly, who made us feel right at home the whole time, going out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed the whole week from beach towels to umbrellas to champagne. The breakfast every morning at the Inn was excellent. They also have a neat little bar to facilitate a wine and cheese night if you so desire, plus a great porch to hang out on, and a fire pit. The rooms are as cute as can be and the beds are comfortable. All in all, our experience was top notch

Natalie B.

Yelp
This place is perfect! Everyone is extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating to any request. A perfect night was out on the patio with food, wine, the fire pit lit up and a beautiful sunset. The wine bar is wonderful, the restaurant is delicious. There was a variety of tasty options for breakfast included. There's even a mini fridge with water at any time and a different truffle on the bed each night. I will absolutely be back!!!

Marissa L.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It has the comforts and luxuries of a Four Seasons with the personal touches and attention of a quaint B&B. The breakfast is superb- made to order with a number of high quality, delicious options. The restaurant and wine bar is classy and perfect for dinner or for a glass of wine and appetizers before heading to town. Lyn is fantastic and made us feel right at home. This is a real gem and we will be back!!

Adam W.

Yelp
My wife and I spent the weekend here in June and I can honestly say it is hands down one of the best places to stay in all of the Cape. The staff is unbelievable, it was just bought one year ago and they've turned it into something special. The owner is so nice! He talked to us all the time, more than just a simple Hi when we would see him. He came by and talked to us at breakfast and showed us the pictures of what the Inn will look like after all the rooms are complete (most have already been completed and are beautiful). This place is a must go to! And Chatham is great too. Great views and public beach to check out. It has a popular wine bar in the Inn and is just a cool place. My wife and I are only 25 and we loved it. Great for young couples and older!

Jasmine B.

Yelp
my husband and I did the dine and stay package, and I highly recommend it. dine and stay includes dinner each night for about $70 more per night (not including tip and tax). really nice deal, especially if you go off-season, as most restaurants are closed. the chef is French and the food was really well cooked and of high quality; I was hesitant to book two dinners at the same place but it turned out way better than expected (no issues with portion size that others mentioned). if notified in advance, the chef can also accommodate most food restrictions which was greatly appreciated and welcomed.I was also thrilled about just all the little things; chocolates to greet you when you entered the room, cleaning during the day AND turndown service at night (with more chocolate!), board games, a good selection of wines (sancerre and fume blanc by the glass), and just top notch service by everyone we encountered. much better than staying at a large chain; I hope I can go back soon enough to enjoy more R&R. (btw, while there is no hot tub/gym, you can get a discounted pass for the fitness center up the street).

Michelle P.

Yelp
Lovely upscale boutique inn. Owners, Kayla and Jeff, were very welcoming and informative of the area. The look and feel of the Chatham Inn is very much what you would expect of Cape Cod, but updated in every way. Our room was beautiful with open beam ceiling. Kayla and Jeff have obviously paid attention to detail in that there was a sweet and personal welcome card, and our direct TV was playing soft, smooth jazz. The bed could not have been more lusciously appointed with beautiful linens. The bath was very nicely done. Following our day out exploring Chatham, we were quite impressed by their Wine Bar...the atmosphere was cozy and friendly and they had an awesome selection of fine wines! Such a lovely way to finish off a great day. To our delight, breakfast the next morning was the perfect way to end our stay at Chatham Inn...it was delicious! Thank you Kayla and Jeff for making our trip to Chatham very memorable! We will see you next year! Dave and Shelly Pieffer

Yelp
A great place to stay. Inn is clean, quiet and rooms well appointed. Great breakfast and even greater staff. A short distance to town stores and coast guard beach.

Debbie G.

Yelp
My husband and I started have been spending our anniversaries at the Old Cranberry Inn since October 2010 and have often recommended it to friends. On the whole, we had a good experience. It is at an excellent location on Main St. The building has 18 rooms; some with fireplaces, rocking chairs on the front porch and a nature trail out back. It is very charming old house, built in 1830 in the Federalist style. The Inn was sold last year and the name was changed to The The Inn at 359 Main. We stayed in the inn last October. The beds were comfortable and the wi-fi service was excellent. The innkeeper was very attentive. (Note: This is a B & B; do not expect 24 hour service). The issue I have with the Inn at 359 Main is that although the prices have gone up about 30%, evidence of cost-cutting in the details is obvious. When we saw the price increase, we decided to book elsewhere for 2015. The décor of the old Cranberry inn was all early American, typical Cape Cod. Since the change, some of the pieces have been replaced with cheap Ikea-plastic -- see the coffee table in the photo of the lounge. The "Pub" was formerly stocked with a nice selection of beer, wines and distilled spirits. Now only beer and wine are available. The wine that was served to me was a cheap red, (Ménage `a trois) and tasted like it. Daily local newspapers used to be complimentary, but the only one I could find was a three-day old Cape Cod Times. There used to be fresh cut long stem roses in the lounge. The stuff in the vases now are cheesy out-of-season artificial. This might sound like nit-picking but as I said, it all goes to value.
