Very few restaurants truly capture the essence of Indian street food — the bold flavors, the nostalgia and this is definitely one of them. The selection is refreshing and impressively vast, covering all the classics you crave. I especially loved their Bedmi Poori, crisp, flavorful, and paired beautifully with the sabzi. Everything we tried was good, but the street food items truly stood out. The flavors are authentic, well-balanced just the way they should be.

Everything we ordered was great in taste and portion size were good. Valu for money. Look st bhature size and there were 2 of them. Bit oily but still good. Papdi chaat was good too. Parking was bit difficult to find and waiting for seating was almost 20 min all bcos we went there on Feb 14..it's valentines day. Crowded and noisy

5 stars! The weather was perfect—snowy, cold, and damp, which made the authentic, fresh flavors and spices at Chatpati Delhi taste even better. It was a perfect flavor tango. Our mouths were watering to try more, but we would have needed to go for another long walk just to make enough space! Our server, Sravya, had a great sense of humor and her recommendations were spot on. We loved the Raj Kachori, Chicken Kheema with Roomali Roti, and the Chole Bhature. It is no surprise this spot was spotlighted in the New York Times; it has clearly already earned the attention it deserves. Highly recommend

If you are wondering whether Chatpati Delhi worth the hype, let me reassure you that it is. From its unassuming and pleasant ambiance, its attentive and friendly staff to the DELICIOUS food Chatpati Delhi delivers. Thank you very much for a truly memorable visit, I will be back.

Friends recommended the chole bhature here, and they were definitely good. The bhature are huge, though the chole could have been better. One order was enough for an adult and a child to share. The thali is grand, and it’s interestingly served with pooris, which you can optionally swap for naan or roti. The masala soda was delicious too. There was no wait when we arrived at noon, but it got pretty busy soon after. It’s a casual spot with quick service, reasonably priced and there’s parking outside the restaurant.

Want to say it's hard to find a fault with this restaurant. everything is so damn good! Outside definitely ask the waiters for their recommendations as all of them are spot on but even picking blindly you'll get some amazing tastes. And the service is super fast too even if it's full! Edit : went again and as usual all the new dishes we ordered again blew us out of the water. Special shout out to Vijay! Awesome server!

Kind of a damp squib of an experience for us but it's rather pacifying to think it's not entirely their fault. Or maybe... just maybe... knowing they featured on the list of top restaurants spiked our expectations a bit too much. Got a table in five minutes on a Saturday afternoon, which, I am told, is a powerball jackpot of sorts in itself. We ordered Chicken Keema Roll, Pav Bhaji, Bhatti Paneer Sizzler, CPD Veg Thali and Jaljeera. First, the black colored plates were not clean in the sense that there were stubborn oil stains (that, in all fairness, tend to persist through some dishwashers). The food itself took its time to arrive... not as "fast" as mentioned in most reviews but arrived hot. Taste is good. Nothing fantastic but definitely something worth waiting for maybe utmost fifteen minutes for a table. Pav Bhaji was a major let down for my palette with the bhaji too tart (perhaps the tomatoes turned out too sour that day out of pure contempt for me). Thali (with pooris) was good, with all accompaniments complementing each other well. The roll came with fries in the shape of swirls and both were tasty. Sizzler too was good with large chunks of well cooked and seasoned paneer. Jaljeera did a good job of keeping the tongue cool-and-tangy company through the meal. Staff is warm and prompt, though it takes a larger heart than mine to catch their attention. Will I go back? Yes. Will I wait more than 15 minutes if I go back? No. Perhaps a take away.

Chatpati Delhi serves great food with bold, authentic flavors that are truly worth trying. Everything we ordered was fresh and full of taste, especially if you enjoy classic North Indian street-style dishes. It does get very busy, so expect a long wait, but the food more than makes up for it. Highly recommended—just plan your visit with some extra time.

NJ has some great desi spots and chapati Delhi is definitely one of them. Their chaat is so authentic and delicious and all the items we ordered were so good. They definitely push the drinks when you first order but drinks were also delicious - the jal Jeera soda was great! The meal was kind of on the pricier side but I would definitely have it again since this was great!

I just moved into the area so I decided to order for pick up using UberEats. Food was ready when we got there and packaged really well to keep warm and spill-free. The food itself was tasty. Portions are decent. We ordered two chicken dishes and only received one small container of rice. What we ordered: - Butter Chicken - Chicken Tikka Masala - Garlic Naan - Mango Smoothie We ordered the Mango Smoothie thinking it was like a Mango Lassi we've had other places but it didn't taste like it so I don't think it was. It also had chunks of maybe candy or dried fruit in there? All in all we would order from here again since it's local and the service was good.

Went there tonight for dinner . Things we loved : Jaljeera , dahi puri, bedami puri , bhel, sev puri, Paneer sizzler was ok .. can be more flavorful and paneer can be well done . Masala soda was ok .. lil sweet coz of sprite .. Roomali roti is good veg keema not so good . Faloda and rasmalai are very good

We ordered gol gappa and non veg thali and both were amazing in taste and just the right proportion. Service was pretty quick. Ambiance of the restaurant was good as well. Had such an amazing time.

CPD also have delicious Indian sweets which we got to taste this holiday season. A must try if you want to tingle your taste buds and satisfy your sweet tooth ! Kesar Cham Cham is a juicy whey drained milk solids based sweet dipped in saffron flavored sugar syrup Malai Jamun is a a deep fried milk solid based sweet that's dipped in a cardamom flavored simple syrup , Then sliced in the middle and slathered with a generous serving of fresh cream. We also tried Rasmalai which is a fresh cream based sweet soaked in saffron flavored milk Get to CPD to try these and more ...

Ordered many things. Sevpuri, garlic wada pav, veggie burger. All were good. Kadai paneer and paneer sizzler was ok. Service is fast!

I can't rave enough about this place!! Truly brought so many memories since I'm a Delhite too! This place is located next to Hot Breads off RT27. The ambiance inside is nice and cozy! Fantastic Service and Fantastic Food! Aisi service agar har jageh ho toh maza aajaye! I came here several times with my family to try different things but we really love the Chole Bature! I also liked the paneer sizzler but the server/owner was super friendly nice to accommodate my rest and made sure the food was too my liking! We also tried the sarson ka saag and makke ki roti which was tasty! I have yet to try other things on the menu and will keep coming back :) Everyone MUST try this place for sure!!

We had an amazing time having dinner here on my daughter's birthday. The food stayed true to the restaurant's name 'Chatpati' and it was really good, if not outstanding (both veg and non-veg which is halal too). To make our dinner extra special, the restaurant staff arranged for dessert cake made out of mithai (indian sweets) and sang the birthday song for my little girl. And it was complimentary!

Awesome spot with great, attentive service! There was a short wait when we went and they called us when our table was ready which was nice so we could wait in the car. The food is really good and served as it's ready. Excellent mango lassi as well! It's a bit pricy overall, especially for lunch, but we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the excellent service and the quality of the food. We will definitely be back!

We just got take out from here tonight & we had high hopes. To be clear, the food was solid. Not my favorite Palak Paneer, loved the Butter Chicken & Chicken Curry. Great naan portions. My husband loved the service when picking up the food too. Said the place was packed. My rating is because I have to mention that my husband almost ate a staple when eating the Palak Paneer. Thankfully he didn't consume it, but this is beyond unacceptable. I am so sad because we have been looking for a local Indian restaurant with solid takeout, but I'm not sure I can order from this restaurant after finding a staple in the food.

Their tagline"Food Served With Love" rings absolutely true. The owners and the person serving us were so polite and attentive. Gave us good suggestions. The place is super clean,ambience warm and welcoming. We had rajkachori, kachori with aloo & chholey and masala chhachh to begin with. All three very delicious Highly recommend. Then we had chicken keema with pav. The keema was so yummy, I swear haven't eaten something like that before. Must try that. Adrak chai was made fresh, not pre-prapared kinds and served in cups...5 stars just for that. We were stuffed full but would've loved to try their halwas and dry fruit laddus .....yumm So glad a wonderful place opened up and we are definitely going back

New Delhi style restaurant in North Brunswick, Interior is good and have some good enough seating. The owner was very courteous and welcomed our group. He set a table for our large group. He also got us a complimentary pani puri to try. We ordered the Delhi style Goat and Chicken Biriyani, they were tasting alright. We got the tandoori sizzler an assortment of chicken tandoori, it was nice and spicy and has a large variety. Tried the Jaljeera soda and Masala Chas The prices are a bit high and service is slow, our dishes came 30 mins after placing order.

Pretty solid option for takeout and even dine-in. I arrived on a quiet Sunday for takeout (probably attributed to rainy weather), but the service was pretty quick (about 20 mins). Ordered 2 Chole Bhatures. Pretty solid. It was the Amritsari type, which is what I prefer. The Bhatures are probably most ideal eating as dine-in relative to takeout (because it comes out piping hot), but it can suffice either way. For 3 of us, we had a small amount left over. I think this is a solid option if you want to diversify your Indian restaurant choices in the area.

We had a lovely dinner tonight at Chatpati Delhi..... The food is amazing but what I can honestly say is that the service is above and beyond! Tonight we celebrated my husband's birthday and we were total of 20 guests.... They were on top of every single, need any of the guests had..... from extra plates and napkins to chutneys and salad! More than that, they did everything with a smile and not once did they let us feel rushed or that we were an inconvenience on a busy Sunday night. Mr. Pradeep and his staff are accommodating and absolutely wonderful..... the food is never let down and seems to get better every time we come.... I cannot recommend this place enough! To Mr. Pradeep and your staff - you all have very bright futures ahead!

There was a short wait but the staff was very efficient. The food was delicious and not too pricey. We went on a very busy day - while you could watch the hustle bustle it wasn't like a need ever went unmet. Overall I feel this is a great place with authentic food and very family friendly.

Presentation of chat is good and the taste is mostly good, however, the amount of sugar in the yogurt is a turn off. If there were maybe half the amount, or none at all, it would be perfect. I got the Tokri for app- the potato is nice and crispy, and all of the ingredients are perfectly balanced (minus the yogurt). Also tried golgappa and vada pav, both which were tasty. For dessert, tried the ras malai which unfortunately was not good- do not recommend. However, the kulfi falooda was delicious.

I'm excited to share we found this restaurant by chance, thanks to its catchy name and appealing atmosphere. On a Saturday around noon, my husband and I decided to check it out. We were greeted promptly by a young man who also happens to be the owner. We asked for his recommendations. We ordered: Choley Bhature: Bhature were perfectly made and weren't too oily, and a generous portion of mildly spiced choley (I would not say they were Delhi style though, but were flavorful). Bedmi Aloo Puri: The Bedmi Puri here closely matches the Delhi style and way better than anything we have tasted in NJ/US so far, and we were quite satisfied. While we waited for our food, we tried their ginger tea, which was served hot and was refreshing. After we had indulged in quite a bit, the owner recommended their Aloo Tikki. It was crispy, well-seasoned, and had a chana dal filling, making it better than most similar dishes in the area. I'd also suggest trying their desserts; the Chenna Murghi and Ras Malai were fantastic. We also appreciated the restaurant's ambiance, with tasteful pictures on the walls, nice lighting, tidy bathroom and a clean atmosphere. These details made us opt to dine in rather than get takeout. What stands out the most, is the food, cool vibe of the place and the friendly service from the owner and staff. We're looking forward to returning to explore their non-vegetarian menu. I give it a strong 4.5/5

When I say I BANGS with this place...it is amazing. We walked in 3pm on a Tuesday and were the only people in the place - totally fine but also you get a tad worried. We proceeded to order a variety of things off the menu and literally nothing disappointed. The guy taking our order was very patient with my dad who was just asking so many dad questions, and he gave us free desserts for no damn reason, which was amazing. I don't know why he did that, which is why I like it more - there were more customers in the place at that point and I'd like to think he just appreciated the ridiculous energy my family brought to the place. I can't describe how great the food is but I'm going to post a bunch of photos I took so if you're in the area, just go.

Delicious food, great ambience and quick service! That's why this restaurant gets a 5star review! After a long time I had good jalebi and what's even better is that they were served with creamy delicious rabdi! A must try for sweet toothed people like me! My only hope is that the quality of food and service stay this way for years to come!

We came here all the way from Sf to try it out. It did not disappoint. Loved this place!! Customer service was excellent, super fast seating and serving. Every dish in the menu reminded me of the typical street foods of Delhi and Old Delhi which is hard to find in any restaurants in the US. Doodhi halwa was out of the world!! All in all, highly recommend

This place is a pass. Except for the chai nothing tasted good. With Edison being so close, not worth a visit. For what is worth, it's very clean; however it's severely overpriced. We ordered 1 chai, Sev puri, paneer roll and vadapav and paid 40+. Paneer roll was quite bad, gravy paneer curry wrapped in a roti, I would might as well have paneer sabzi and roti, it was spicy and no authentic flavor. Puris in the Sev puri were stale and soft (no crunch), lacked flavors, even sev sprinkled was a joke. Vadapav was very average.

Their chicken curry hands down was my favorite! Tasted sooo good and homemade! Service was quick, and the restaurant wast packed!

After a long time, found a nice chaat place. Taste is close to delhi food. I m so glad we have a good restaurent close by. Great service. Cozy place and food is consistent. Owner and his wife both are sweet. Couple is giving a good quality good. Good luck to them for their restaurant.

Great food that leaves you with a chapati feeling in a small but clean space.we ordered the chicken roll and the chicken kheema in it was amazing and oozed in every bite. The kids enjoyed the malai kabab and butter chicken/roti . Do not forget to order the Lassi it was so yum A good addition to the the SB indian food options and I hope they continue to keep up the flavors and quality

food is delicious.,tend to be on the spicy side if you like spices which i do. if heading out for dinner, 6 pm seems to be a good time to grab tables. it gets packed quick after that. restaurant is very clean. i would come back again

This is my new favorite restaurant! The food was delicious and the space was so cute inside. The service was great and everyone was very helpful answering our questions and all the food came out very fast. Our waiter was Vijay and he was very attentive! Will definitely be coming back here.

Excellent food - fresh and well presented chaat (I had aloo papadi - crispy and flavorful) Kids had their veggie burger with fries - one order was more than enough food for two kids (even with their mommy and baby sister stealing fries). Also the kids meal came with a good size mango lassi which was delicious. Husband had vada pav - one of his favorite dishes and very much enjoyed (that is saying a lot as he is from Mumbai) - we also had the chai which was a great end to a lovely meal. As a super bonus the managers and all staff were extremely polite, attentive and quick! They even treated my two big girls with kaju katli:)

A reasonably bust place for a Wednesday night. Good food, excellent service and the ambiance was okay (nothing exceptional). We ordered the sarson ka sag, makki ki roti, goat curry, and cutlet sizzler. The roti was really good and went well with the sarson ka saag, and goat curry was good with rice. I was not too thrilled with the cutlet sizzler. The food quantity was really good for 3, and since we were 2, I got the leftover packed for tomorrow's lunch. Note: if it's winter, don't sit by the door as the cold wind blows in despite the double doors. Overall, I recommend the place for dinner. If not for the cold breeze, I would have give this place 5 stars. Sorry, finished the food very fast and hence, no food pictures. But here is the picture of the takeout boxes.

I knew Jimmy (owner) for almost 10 years from the days he used to manage Papa Pancho Pizza in Edison. We met him at a social event thats when I found out he is opened his new venture. We were planning to try since a long time and honestly it was worth it. For the first time we found closest to authentic taste of Delhi style food in NJ. We tried Sizzler, Poori Bhaji , Biryani, Sarso Da Saag and ordered Malai Lassi . Everything was perfectly delicious. Recommended 100% and cant wait to try it again.

We went to Chatpati Delhi for our girls lunch together last week. It was delicious food overall. We tried several dishes on the menu including pani puri, chole bhature, paneer sizzler, bedami puri and finally falooda as well. We were happy and content! Everything was fresh and tasty. Thank you Chatpati Delhi and Abhijit for the great experience!

Tried this place last weekend with my mom and we had a great time. The ambience was well crafted, wait staff was attentive, and above all the food tasted home-made. Not too much oil and I'm excited for the expanded menu! We tried the thaali and chole bhature. Nice to know there's a place to get good chole bhature in town now!

Authentic tasty and diverse selection of mouthwatering curries, fried battered peppers, dhal, traditional sweets. Great variety of main dishes and sides - all served fresh and hot. Typical level of spice may be slightly too piquant for those unaccustomed to the real thing. Not to be missed if you are in the neighborhood!

This location has gone through a few Indian restaurants but this one looks like it will stick! Very nice service, quick food delivery but still made to order. Got a bunch of different things - chaats, chole, rolls etc and all was very good. Definitely will be back.

Food is great!!! Ambiance is slightly better than most restaurants in the area but not upscale/ uptight. Good for going with friends/ GNO ( did that) or with family and friends ( did that). If going on a weekend past 7 pm, expect a decent bit of wait ( we had to wait 45 minutes one time). The service is very friendly. Both the gentlemen who served us at the two different occasions were equally polite, helpful and smiling ( despite slightly grumpy customers who were probably hungry after the long wait ) The meethi lassi with malai is the absolute best And a special mention of Chhole Bhature which felt closer to home taste ( Jaipur/ Kota) than any I have had in recent times
