Visited here on the way to our break in Matlock, it is a stunning place with an incredible amount of land to explore, and the grounds and building itself are lovely. There is an on-site cafe and shop and it is a wonderful place to bring the dog. There was no charge for parking when we visited not sure if this is the case all year round. We didn't explore the farm or play area as we had the dog. Well worth a visit though!! Would recommend.

Visited for the Christmas season. The house was beautiful and well decorated but very VERY busy. The Christmas market was very nice. And the gardens light trail wasn't really worth doing as it took about 10-15 minutes to walk though and was mostly spotlights and a few white lights. The lit up house was nice to see though. The house itself has very nice decorations and staff and is worth a visit during the Christmas season.

Google
The house with Christmas decorations was extremely busy. The Christmas decorations were interesting and made up for a relatively ordinary stately home on the interior. For the house I would give 3 stars. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I was far more delighted to wander around the gardens where there was far more to see. One of Capability Brown's finest landscapes. The water plume, small paths, gardens were fabulous. Unfortunately due to disrepair the cascade was not operational. There is a campaign to raise funds to repair the cascade in due course. The rockery was fabulous and on a wow scale! Despite my visit being in December it was still very interesting. If I were to visit again I would not visit the house. I would give the gardens a 5star review. Hence 4 star overall.

It's difficult to add much to the 20,000 other reviews on this jewel of British cultural and architectural richness. It's a wonderful place to visit either individually or as a couple or family. You can easily spend the whole day here if you visit the house, gardens and farm / adventure playground. The Christmas displays are lovely but it does get very busy at times. The food and gift shops are on the more expensive side as you might expect in a place with so many tourist visitors, however the quality is generally good. I've tried to include some photos of the details which are sometimes missed in reviews but which you will see plenty of here - wonderful ceilings and cornicing, beautiful marble surfaces and amazing carved woodwork.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting Chatsworth House, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. We enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the magnificent gardens and admired the beauty of the house and its surroundings. The atmosphere was serene, and we captured some stunning photos along the way. It was a perfect way to spend the evening and truly a memorable visit.

Had a really enjoyable day visiting Chatsworth in December with all the Christmas decorations up. The house was decorated beautifully, and whilst it was busy, it didn't feel too over crowded at all, it seemed to be very well managed by the staff there. I'd definitely recommend booking tickets well in advance if you want to visit at Christmas, we booked a slot for a weekday afternoon, so it was quieter - the weekend slots understandably get booked up very early. A beautiful house and grounds, will definitely be visiting again, probably during the spring or summer so we can fully appreciate the gardens.

We went to the Christmas event at Chatsworth recently, before enjoying afternoon tea at the Cavendish Restaurant. I’ve been wanting to check out their Christmas event for ages, so we finally made the trip. I was totally impressed by the amazing level of detail. I loved their Christmas mouse theme this year, with each of the main rooms having a different setup. You weren’t far from the staff to ask any questions, and they were more than happy to help. As for the garden, we had a quick walk, but it was freezing, so we didn’t stay too long. Maybe they could add electric scooters or more buggy options for getting around the garden? That would be a great addition.

Google
Beautiful house with vast gardens, farm yard and grounds. We went for the 'Christmas at chatsworth' event where the house was dressed accordingly. Beautifully done and filled with christmas cheer. The private gardens were beautiful and dotted with roasted marshmallow and hot drink hubs. The farmyard was very small but cute and included a kids play area. The grounds were huge and picturesque, dotted with follies and with plenty of wandering wildlife. The stables included gift shops, restaurants and a cafe. There was even a ice cream/drinks hub in the centre and a small garden centre. Definitely buy tickets before going as the road in had a sign saying fully booked. Also follow the brown signs to the site rather than Google maps as the entrance it leads you to is closed. Plenty of bathrooms, there was a loft but I don't believe the house is fully accessible and there wasn't much in the way of seating.

Yelp
Pretty hard to find anything that can compare to the beauty of this house. Christmas-time decorations were magnificent. The halls of "Pemberly" are just something else! The only gripe was the amount of influencers taking pictures of themselves. Something needs to be done to move them along, it's just rude at this point.

Yelp
Stunningly beautiful. Filming location for Darcy's Pemberley estate (Derbyshire) in the 2005 version of Pride & Prejudice (Keira Knightly, Matthew Macfayden, Dame Judi Dench, etc.) and other BBC programming. Various tours are held here, including a stunning holiday market and an Illuminated Walk which both started on Guy Fawkes Day 2022!

Yelp
Really great place to spend the day. I recommend getting a latte from their many cafes and a maple flapjack, which was fantastic. My only qualms are that there is not a lot of bathrooms except near the main house, so if you wander off into the grounds, it takes about 20 min to get back to a bathroom. I also took a point off because in the food court by the stables, several families and their children were cutting in line and screaming. Staff did nothing about this :(

Yelp
From all the estates that I visited, including palaces and castles (even Windsor) I have to say Chatsworth won my heart and seats in first place. Located in beautiful Derbyshire, only a few minutes from the little village of Eyam where I was staying. I purchased tickets online about a week prior and it was such a breeze. No need to print them, just showed them the bar code and they'll scan it. Go green. Everyone was so pleasant, from the beginning at the car park space to the guides throughout the estate. Just a wonderful experience. You can rent an audio tour which allows you a more in depth knowledge of each room and the artifacts in it, as well as some history behind each detail. Worth the extra couple pounds. Luckily photography is ok both inside and outside. At the end of the tour (self guided for us) there is an enormous gift shop and Darcy's bust welcoming you. I internally squealed because I was living my Pride and prejudice dream, haha. My husband was such a trooper. We had a pasty from the little cafe outside and some coffee to recharge before we walked the grounds. Which are expansive but we were having such lovely weather.
google avatar

Kimberley H.

Yelp
We didn't have time for the tour would definitely come back, the place is enormous and I can only imagine what the inside must be like! Apparently there is a lovely gift shop as well. A must see if you are close!

Yelp
We went to Chatsworth on Friday 2nd of September 2022, while a massive Country Show was taking place in the grounds. The benifits of this meant we got to see the front of the house with the beautiful gold leaf windows frames gleaming in the sun. There were very few visitors to the house so we did not feel rushed and could just soak in the splendor. The marvelous volunteers had plenty of time to discribe the rooms and answer any questions we had. After 11 years of maintance, we really got to see the house in the most amazing condtion. They did let themselves down badly regarding the food for vistors that day, it consisted of over cooked pastys and sausage rolls that had been cooked from frozen. The celebrity Chef at the show that day was James Martin, Mary Berry the next day (both staying at Chatsworth House) you could hear James Martin on the tannoy doing a cooking demonstration to show goers. I cannot imagine his reaction to being served the pasty's we were, thank goodness it wasn't Gordon Ramsey. There was also a ride, which was really sad, the driver went 2 and half times round a small roundabout with a water feature to prolong the ride. Really not worth it, even if you have mobility issues as you saw very little. I really hope the Chatsworth team will fix the two minor, easy to remedy isssues so it can be a 5 star experience, in steas of the 3 star we had.

Yelp
If you're any sort of fan of the Pride and Prejudice movies, then you must fit in a visit here! It was especially lovely all decorated for Christmas as well. We arrived later in the day and it got dark too soon for me to see some of the outside views that are recognizable from the movies, but it was a great visit nonetheless! It was super crowded and got dark fast so it's probably better to get here early if you can. They even have the Darcy bust from the more recent movie with Keira Knightly! And the library was so gorgeous and interesting as well!
google avatar

Yelp
What can I say. I was there this year at Christmas, and the were having their Holiday festival. The house was decorated and on the grounds they had vendors with food, crafts, even homemade dog treats and Champaign. Everyone who works there is very kind and extremely knowledgeable, even to small and funny details! A lovely way to spend an afternoon!

Yelp
We visited Chatsworth today and LOVED it. Fortunately the rain ended before our arrival, as the gardens were wonderful (very little was in bloom - but the profusion of statuary plus the rock gardens and the beautiful vistas were all terrific, and we spent a lot of time wandering throughout the [105] acres). The house has many interesting collections of items and beautiful painted ceilings. My favorite room was the very last one, as it's filled with lots of beautiful statuary. There are several gift shops (one at the exit for the house & three others just above the parking lot) and they have many nice items. There's also another gift shop about a mile away and it only sells food items, but the selection was terrific and everything looked delicious (unfortunately they have no capacity for heating any of the food and therefore we didn't buy anything). Chatsworth is really lovely and I highly recommend a visit.

Yelp
Wow - they don't make em like this anymore! What a fantastic country manor out in the middle of Derbyshire, a place where scale and ambition knows no bounds! We popped here while holidaying in the area and with it being a nice sunny day it seemed the perfect place to go with the family and our 1 year old daughter. We didn't have time to do the actual house tour (plus the weather was so nice that there was no need to be indoors) but we bought tickets to do the grounds (£12 each) which was a great way to spend the afternoon. Think about grand lawns, grand water features, grand gardens, grand woods - wow, it's all here on an epic scale. Make sure you don't miss out on the maze too, we did eventually find the middle - we were triumphant!!! Extra note: Go for drinks, tea and coffee, food at the coffee shop and leisure complex near the car park as opposed to the ones in the actual house (it;s really small and all paper cups) - the selection is much better.

Yelp
Chatsworth House was a great day out. As i visited at Christmas the House had been decorated with a Narnia theme, which was expertly done (though only half the house was open). The Snow Queen had an amazing mirror corset and the volunteers were incredibly nice and informative about the House. The market which is on this time of year was rather large for a christmas market. There was a full variety of stalls. I mainly stuck to the stalls which had cheese, booze and other foods but there was a good selection of trinkets, wood carvings, art and much much more! The gardens are definitely worth the walk around. They're huge! I was in heels so only managed what i believe was small portion as there is so much more. The maze was great fun and I wasn't worried about getting lost as I had booze and food on me so if I had to camp I would have been okay! I can't stress enough how great the place is so I suggest you go as soon as you can! I'll be back in the summer (with proper shoes) to fully explore the gardens and the rest of the house.

Yelp
One of the best afternoon teas I have ever had! It was truly magnificent. We were upgraded to the Wedgewood afternoon tea and served by Emma (who did a stellar job serving us and quite honestly made our whole experience!). Our afternoon tea was spot on -- everything was just right. I couldn't ask for anything more and I don't understand the subpar reviews. We visited the Christmas market as well and I have such warm and cozy memories of this place!!!

Yelp
GO! GO! GO! Chatsworth House was the main reason I travelled to the UK and I was not disappointed. There was so much more to do here than I imagined. It actually took us all day to see everything. The gardens were majestic (don't forget the hedge maze) and I loved loved exploring all the hidden walkways. You could almost spend all day doing just this. Visiting the House was a treat too! It was so grand and beautiful. If you have kids you are for sure going to want to visit the farmyard that has tons of animals and room for children to play. Don't forget to drive the short distance up to the farm store for some fresh fare. I suggest bringing back a picnic to the grounds so you can relax while watching herd of sheep and deer roam freely by. I will for sure be back!

Yelp
Sometimes better known as Pemberley from the classic BBC tv production of Pride and Prejudice, Chatsworth is the huge stately home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire with acres of land. It feels a bit premature to write a review because although I've been to Chatsworth several times, there's still so much that I've not seen yet. This time I came for its Alice in Wonderland Christmas theme (last year it was the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), an annual themed event where they decorate the house with huge themed displays and Christmas trees. It's really lovely and great for kids but it is quite pricey and there were some pretty hefty crowds. The queue was so big when we got there that we took a quick trip to the lovely little farm and the play area which meant we could also get our tickets in advance so we wouldn't have to queue for them. We had just enough time for a hot chocolate from one of the many food and drink stalls in the courtyard, where there were also carol singers. The whole thing was lovely despite being so busy, and we had time to go to the super expensive but super lovely farm shop and the (more reasonable) cafe. The pork and mince pies we got from the shop were both amazing. Chatsworth is also great for long walks through the grounds and the land, in the lovely Peak District where there are lovely views aplenty. There is a lot to do here, so get there early!

Yelp
Oh no, another review about a stately home. This one is a little different, although the history and the display of wealth and grandeur, at a time when most of the surrounding society had very little and lived simple and hard existences is very evident. This place is grand scale and deserves a fuller review. Magnificent grounds with all different influences from around the world. A distinct Italian influence throughout with magnificent water features that make a sheer pleasure for the eye. The house is absolutely wonderful and although packed with great treasures, it is presented in a way that allows you to experience it. You can sit in most rooms and take photographs for your memories. Summary. A wonderful day out. Key points. Excellent parking, lovely views, wonderful stately house, catering and eating facilities to a very high standard throughout the estate. Admission charges were very relevant to the quality of Chatsworth. I have uploaded a couple of photo's to give a sense of the splender of Chatsworth.

Yelp
This place is very grand and I find it hard to imagine that people actually lived here once upon a time. The house itself is very lavishly decorated with ornate details that'll leave you in awe. However, if nosing around old homes isn't your thing then don't let that put you off because the grounds alone are worth coming to see. The gardens are extensive, housing sculptures that'll make you ooo and ahhh. A maze that is not for the claustrophobic or for those adverse to running children. There were pheasants and ducks aplenty that'll accost you for your food. For the green fingered there was an allotment, where one could draw inspiration from if they were so inclined. The cafe is crazily overpriced, where even the out of date crisp packets were selling like hot cakes at 50p a pop but there was plenty of seating and in the price of the £20 admissions ticket they give you a £3 voucher to spend in any of the shops onsite. I loved the gift shop, admittedly it had much of the same predictable stuff that all these places sell but they also had a few gems that would make for good birthday presents. Despite having tickets we never made it to the farm as we were too tired from all the exploring. They also put on special events, one of which includes a fireworks night sometime in November which I'm definitely interested in.

Yelp
Chatsworth House is a huge stately home set in extensive gardens in the beautiful Peak District countryside. Allow a full day for exploring the grounds - you could spend a day alone in the gardens without even looking inside, although the house itself is also well worth a visit. Tickets can be purchased for either the house or gardens, or both. If you've seen the recent Pride and Prejudice film Chatsworth may well seem familiar as it was used to film some of the scenes. There's also a great gift shop, café and a more formal restaurant. This is one of my favourite places for a day out. If the weather's good pack a picnic and wear comfy shoes - it's vast!

Yelp
I'd spent a Jane Austen Fan Girl trip touring several great houses. Chatsworth was, by far, the most grand (and crowded.) While we thought we might spend but a few hours here, we were there all day and still didn't see EVERYTHING. The house tour is a must and we also opted for champagne tea service around 2pm. But I wish we'd left ourselves a bit more time for the grounds. They were so expansive and breathtaking that I just didn't have time to enjoy them in the manner in which I'd have liked. It's a place you want to drink in. In particular, I loved the rock sculpture garden.

Yelp
When my fiance talked me into spending a day here last summer I wasn't expecting much: just the stately home itself and maybe a big, nice garden to walk around and that would be about it. How wrong I was - we got there at 11am and ended up spending the full day! In fact, the stately home was the most disappointing part of the day and didn't seem worth the money we paid to get in and have a look around. If you cop this place on a sunny day - which we did - then the journey will have been worth it. There's literally mile-upon-mile of things to walk around and see, so take some comfortable shoes. There's a "pets corner" part for the kids, a massive vegetable garden if you're into green-fingered activities and a long underground tunnel for the big kid in you to walk through! I was pleasantly surprised. Not what I thought a day out at a stately home would be; we've already planned to go back this summer....

Yelp
Recently went on a family day out to Chatsworth House, ancestral home of the Dukes of Devonshire. I hadn't been for a number of years but it was every bit as good as I had remembered. A very reasonable £13 gave entry to the enormous house and extensive gardens. The house was magnificent, beautifully maintained and with a fascinating new exhibition devoted to the previous Duchess, Deborah, last of the famous Mitford sisters. Over the past year an extensive programme of renovations has been taking place and the results are very impressive. The gardens are worth a trip just on there own, miles of paths through an ever-changing landscape and with wonderful contemporary sculptures scattered throughout. Always nice to see new works of art being added to the collection, both in the garden and inside the house. If you have never been to Chatsworth or if you haven't been for some time, then I would definitely recommend it - I don't think you will be disappointed

Yelp
While visiting the UK in September of this year, I booked tickets to tour the house and gardens along with afternoon tea in the Cavendish Carriage House. We were blown away. The house was astounding, the collection of art (as well as the art that is part of the home itself), the venerated history of the Cavendish family (Earldom and then Duchy of Devonshire), the gardens and lovely variety of the greenhouses, and on and on and on it went... we only had one afternoon to see it all before gorging ourselves on our delicious tea. I could've moved in, I loved it so much. If you are driving through the Peak District and have some time, you would do well to visit this beautiful estate!

Yelp
Chatsworth House is Derbyshire's most well known stately home. I had not visited the house since a trip from Junior School, so a second visit was long overdue. We were fortunate enough to pick a barmy summer's day to visit. The house itself is set in generous parkland grounds, and the sweeping access road sets a picture postcard view. At the time the house was partially cloaked in scaffolding as part of the 'Masterplan' - a scheme to improve the house and grounds, inspired by the owners the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Chatsworth is a popular destination so its best to get their early, it was no exception on the day we visited. The sloping car park rapidly filled, with a steady stream of cars waiting behind. After a patient wait to get into the house, we took a steady wander round this hugely impressive rooms. The opulence is their to see first hand, grandiose paintings, ornate furniture, beautifully painted ceilings and a vastly impressive room with brilliant white marble sculptures. The guides were full of helpful and anecdotal information that helped add to the experience too. The end of the walk through the house brings you straight into one of the many gift shops, with gifts recommended by the Duke and Duchess as well as many Chatsworth themed items. The grounds are equally impressive, the sensory garden, large greenhouses housing tropical plants, the fountain and the impressively iconic cascade. The gardens also had the biggest free range chickens I've ever seen, as big as a Jack Russell! We finished off with lunch in a courtyard area, where there is variety of different types of dining, from fast food to a more relaxing and sedate high end cafe. We chose the latter option, comfy chairs, table service and walls of glass looking out onto the courtyard, made up for the inflated prices. You could easily spend a whole day at Chatsworth, as well visiting the house, the vast gardens, theres also numerous restaurants and Champagne Bars too

Yelp
Fellow Austen fans will get the literary reference when I say that oh to be mistress of Chatsworth House could be quite something! This gorgeous place was actually used as Pemberley in the Keira Knightley movie version of Pride & Prejudice (look out for the Matthew Macfadyen bust in the gift shop!). I dont often get literary flashbacks, but even before I knew it was in the film I couldn't help but think of that bit of P&P when Lizzie sees Pemberley for the first time - I know it sounds cheesy but I had my own *gasp* moment as we drove down the long winding driveway and got a beautiful view of the house and grounds. £19 seemed a bit steep for entry to the house plus the sun was shining, so we went for the £13 gardens-only price (gift-aid it for a cafe/shop voucher!). This still seemed pricey, but as it turned out even the gardens can nicely fill a whole day. Having been on map-reading duty and led my mates on a 'scenic' route around the gardens there are 2 bits you MUST NOT MISS. First (and my favourite bit of the whole day) is the massive hedge maze! This had all 8 of us running around like little kids to race each other to the centre; I managed to come second but it was harder than expected! Also think I scared a fair few kids along the way woops. Second is the gift shop. Now I've been to a fair few cutesy museum/tourist gift shops in my time, but this one pressed all my geeky quirky cool buttons. How I resisted buying huge swathes of stuff I do not know - perhaps I was still feeling a little budget-conscious after the entry fee (though I actually ended up blowing more in the farm shop up the road on the way home - see other review!). The estate is vast though so will depend on how long you have - look out for the massive gravity-fed fountain which is pretty cool, and make the effort to go out to the little lakes around the edges if you're after some stillness and quiet. It's clear they take care of the place well. You can also walk through an old coal hole in darkness (unless you're scared of small spaces, or the dark, in which case steer clear!). There's both casual and more formal options to grab a bite to eat or (as in our case) a coffee and cake stop. Car park is huge and lots of kids about too though the pushchairs won't be able to get everywhere. I'm not in a hurry to go back now I've seen it, but I would definitely recommend it to enjoy a sunny day (so long as you're wearing comfy shoes!) :D

Yelp
Not sure I'd pay £13 again to come round Chatsworth but we had a lovely afternoon mooching about, trying on bonnets and pretending to be elegant posh folk. And as there were four of us we managed to get a £7 voucher to spend in the cafe or shop if we gift-aided our ticket (why wouldn't you?!). Beautiful grounds (Capability Brown and all that), plenty to see and keep the kids entertained if you've got them, and a nice (if a little pricey) way to while away a few hours.

Yelp
This is a fantastic country home which belong to the duke of devonshire. It is extremely beauiful and well set out you can go through the great hall the state apartments and the libary to see the wonderfully painted ceilings and great furniture. My favorite thing is the marble statue of the girl who looks like she is wearing a see through veil in the statue gallery There is also a jet engine here. The gardens are filled with wonderful statues. The house contains some wonderful painitings and has some fascinatings pieces. There is a wonderful maze in the gardens and a water cascade. The food in the resteraunt is lovely and there are some really nice items in the gift shop. Well worth a visit

Yelp
Our tour guide was excellent at giving us a feeling for the sweep of history since the house was built, with many compelling details. The house itself and the objects displayed there are truly lovely

Yelp
Stunning estate! I had watched a series about this place & had it on my list before I ever traveled to England. It does not disappoint! There is so much to see & when you are finished with the inside, the grounds are also a must see. Then when you are finished with that, stop at the patio & buy yourself a whippie with flake to sit & enjoy. Plan for a full day here to allow yourself to truly enjoy it.

Yelp
Although I haven't visited Chatsworth House in a few years, I have been a few times over the past decade and have always had a wonderful time here. The gardens are so lovely that they actually rival the inside and the great sense of history make it a must for anyone interested in stately homes. With the waterfall being the main outside attraction, there are also other hidden treasures such as the maze and the copper tree. Inside, there is a wealth of history spanning several floors. With Chatsworth Farm, even children will enjoy the dayout which offers something for everyone.

Yelp
There is no doubt that Chatsworth has a great deal to offer. Unfortunately, my visit yesterday was overshadowed by the outrageous cost. The various entry options are each around the £20 mark with no concessions. If that were not bad enough, they have the bloody cheek to charge £4 for parking the car! Oh, and if you're elderly on a tight budget and scraped together enough to get this far. Why not take a shuttle trip around the extensive gardens? Yes, you've guessed it, another £4 please! Thanks Chatsworth, but no thanks.

Yelp
Chatsworth House is one of the most stunning properties in this country. Owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, it has been the ancestral home for many years. There is much for the visitor to do and a visit can take a whole day. As you drive through the gates you get the impression of grandeur. There is a lovely gatehouse before you reach the parking for the main house. You can buy a ticket which allows you access to the house and the vast gardens. The house is on a magnificent scale, akin to royal palaces. It still houses a lot of the family's collections and there are a lot of rooms to visit, some of which have been used by royalty. The gardens are immense and very well laid out. There is a cascade of water coming down one hill and a maze which can cause some problems. There are good shops on site stocking collectables and memorabilia and a good range of eating places for the hungry. The house also hosts a range of events throughout the years so there is always something to do for all the family. It is also a great place to visit at Christmas.

Yelp
Chatsworth House is the home of the Duke and the Duchess of Devonshire and it is located near the town of Bakewell in the Peak District. The house has been used as a setting in films like Pride and Prejudice and The Wolfman, coming on February, so some of you may recognise the house from the films. I went to visit it last summer and I recall the experience as a very remarkable one. Whether you are a fan of state homes or you just want to spend a great day out, Chatsworth House has many attractions available for everyone. If staying somewhere near, I recommend going to the House by feet. In my case, I was staying in Bakewell and I walked more than an hour through the hills until finding the house but it is a well worth walk as the scenery is breathtaking. Visiting the house can take up to few hours. There is a great collection of paintings, furniture and sculptures so you can feel every room is filled with history and the next room is always more interesting than the previous one! The house is sorrounded by stunning gardens where you can find a waterfall, a pond and a maze among others. I am sure those who love botany will find the garden quite interesting. There is also a restaurant so you can easily find everything you need for the day. I would say it is definetely worth seeing. Just a quick note, in 2010 the House will be closed until the 14th of March.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful! What a pleasure it was to visit this beautiful estate. Plenty of help with purchasing tickets , answering questions, and they offer a audio tour for you to listen to as you walk through the home. Fantastic day!

Yelp
Very expensive to get in, but worth the money in my opinion. The farm is much cheaper and great for a day out with kids. Can't wait for the Christmas decorations to go up this year.

Yelp
My family and I recently visited Chatsworth House while on a day trip from Sheffield. We only visited the grounds which are lovely. Unfortunately it rained on and off during our stay so the paths were quite muddy. However, the landscaping is impressive. What an amazing variety of plants and flowers. The fields of green are stunning. The rock formations are beautiful. We quite enjoyed the maze. Definitely take pictures in front of the fountain as you will thinks you've been transported to Pride and Prejudice. We stopped in the gift shop on our way out, a must see if you'd like to buy items marketed by the Duke and Dutchess. We had a wonderful time here and I would recommend a visit if in the area.

Yelp
ooh this is such a lovely place! Being an ex-Sheffield uni student, I have visited Chatsworth several times (it's a great palce to take the 'rents when they come to visit). The gardens are so beautiful and with all the different statues and monuments and fountains and food gardens and flower gardens (I could go on..) you can never get bored, and you can never go too many times!

Yelp
Chatsworth is wonderful. It has a great garden centre even if it is a bit on the pricey side but if you just want a free day out there are some great walks in the grounds.

Yelp
Chatsworth house is situed in the heart of derbyshire, jus to the north of rowsley on the main A6 between Derby and Matlock. The house and gardens are a deffinate visit worthwhile, the house is stunning inside, more so than it is from the inside. If you have children then the gardens are worth a visit, there is a large water fountain, and there are various walks around the grounds. There is also an underground tunnel, which if I remmember was closed last time I visted, but we still managed to walk through, it tal darkness! overall worth a visit to anyone, even if it is abit expensive in these economic conditions.

Yelp
Chatsworth Houseis an iconic attraction which you may recognise from many period dramas. It is owned by the Duke of Devonshire and is located on the edge of the Peak District. The grounds and hence drive up to Chatsworth are stunning. Deer graze the trees to a neat level and a wide gushing river flows throught the grounds (great for picnics in summer). I live near to Chatsworth and I'm afraid to say that I have never been into the actual house (little expensive for me), but that doesn't matter as the free attractions are well worth many visits; a walk up to the hunting tower (Prince William recetly stayed here) gives stunning views, a picnic by the river, a walk around Edensor the workers village. One paid attraction I have been to though is the adventure playground and farmyard. This is the place of my childhood and it is a child's fantasy come to life. I once took a trip of youngsters here and they said it was the best day of their life! Maybe a little over dramatic but it is a fabulous playground. It is set and built amongst the trees of the forest and chickens roam free around the wood chipped floor. For children there is a secret tunnel entrance which is very hard for adults to crawl through (there are some more sedate steps for big ones!). There are zip lines, tree top walkways, slides, swings, trampolines, cargo climbing nets and the most ingenious water way play area. This place will keep kids occupied for a whole day and there is a sheltered picnic area where you can eat your own food. There are also farm animals and milking displays for a touch of education on what is often a day of fun abandon as far from school as you can get!

Yelp
Totally incredible and with the trip. Walk in from the village to really experience it. And leave a few hours to walk around the grounds. Awesome experience.

Yelp
Chatsworth is a great place for a full day out ith the family with its extensive gardens and House. There is so much to do here, from the cascade of water and fountain in the gardens to the maze and petting zoo and adventure playground. And thats all before you enter the house! The House is well worth a visit for the history alone as it is beautiful. It is really only worth visiting in the summer due to the rural setting, but not to be missed.

Yelp
This is my favourite place to go and visit with the family at christmas. The lovely big stately home is decorated in christmas decorations and its great just to walk around and look at them. Theres some loverly gardens as welll which are great to walk around and explore the different parts. Evan when its not christmas the house is still great to go and look round and theres always events on at easter and things like that. The parkings good as well as there is a massiv field which is good as it can get abit busy there. The staff are always nice as well and theres only a small charge to get in. The gift shop there is lovley as well which is good to hav a look round as well. overall i think this is a great place for a day out with family or friends.

Yelp

Yelp
As a family day out Chatsworth is fantastic. The house itself is really interesting but there's plenty to do in the grounds if looking round stately homes isn't your thing. The gardens are stunning, especially the giant natural fountain, which sends a huge jet of water into the air. The park land is lovely to walk in too. You could easily spend a day just exploring the grounds. For children there is a farm area with all your usual farm animals available to pet. In addition there is a fantastic adventure playground, although it's not as good as when I was little and there was a tree walk really, really high up, although the new set-up is probably much safer. There is a gift shop and cafe as well as a restaurant, or if the weather's fine why not pack a picnic?

Yelp
Chatsworth is a beautiful place to visit, the scenery makes you feel as if you've stepped back in time and the gardens are simply wonderful, there are also activites on for children in the school holidays if you are in need of a good day out.

Yelp
a brilliant day our, with the house and gardensd to visit. There is also a outlet shopping village near by and also a produce market which is supplied by local farmers including the chatsworth estate.

Yelp
Would have given this 5 stars, if it wasn't for the price - £13 per adult for the house and the gardens. We went on the tractor tour which takes you round the grounds up to the 'Stand' at the top of the hill. Very interesting, but we were charged an extra £3.50 each for that!! The house itself is stunning, far nicer than anything else we've visited. Every room was a WOW! Plenty of grounds for walking the dog etc. Could spend all day there, which would probably justify the price!
