Best ribs l ever had. Recommend by a local Uber driver who went to high school with Regge Jackson. Fall off the bone tender smoked meat with enough sauce was just delicious. The coleslaw & baked beans together with the meal was incredible.

Drove up from the Atlanta area to eat here. It was worth the 2 hour drive in the rain to try this place out! Our goto BBQ menu item is always a pulled pork sandwich. We skipped the slaw out of personal preference, but the slaw looked tasty and will be something we try next time. The sandwich was excellent, the BBQ sauce on it was a perfect compliment to the pork. It was definitely filling along with the side of chilli cheese fries we ordered. We were very happy with the food we ordered. I just had to stop and take some pictures before it was gone so I could do this review LOLz. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly, almost like a family reunion of complete strangers. Very happy with the whole vibe, made the meal even better. This place is a must try, even if it's a little bit further than you would normally go for BBQ.

The ribs were some of the most tender I’ve had and the fried okra was fantastic! The guy taking our order was a little agitated when one of us tried to order a sandwich instead of a plate, but I think he just wanted us to experience two sides. The potato salad was also excellent, but the baked beans weren’t really anything special. Definitely check this place out for good ribs.

So, so good! Our party had the pulled pork, rib sandwich, fish plate, and chilli cheese fries. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. Friendly staff and owners. The absolute best example of local restaurant fare. Will definitely be back the next time I am in the Noog.

We are up from Georgia on business. Conveniently located Hutton and Smith and Greenhouse breweries, we stopped in for dinner. We were treated to great BBQ ( I had the pulled pork and my associate had the brisket.) and good company, conversing with the owner, Grandpa Jimmy, his granddaughter and the rest of his team. I would highly recommend the Chatt Smoke House as an authentic Chattanooga experience

Great potion for price! Stuff lady was super friendly to everyone! Seems like a lot of local people(regulars customers) were there. It took about 30mins or more to get food after order. We ordered beef plate(it was pulled beef) and rib plate. Beef itself were a bit dry but both of meat came with plenty of sauce. Breads were also dry. Coleslaw wasn’t too sweet. (which I like.) French fry were like frozen fry you can get at groceries. Potato salad was vinegary. Mac & Cheese needed more salt for me. They have home made slice cake and banana pudding. It looked delicious but also cost about $7-9.

This was probably one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I had in my lifetime! This is my second time visiting and I really enjoyed this meal!

Chef Mike really treated my family well. We arrived between 4-5pm on a Wednesday. Not busy at all. Staff was very attentive. The owner also chatted with us briefly. It felt like home away from home as we were only visiting the area. Clean and quiet atmosphere with very reasonable prices. We had time to look over the menu upon arrival and chat with the staff about menu items. The chef even cooked a piece of fish for my mom to sample before she ordered it. Our orders were large enough to share, honestly. We had a fish plate, two rib plates, and a chopped chicken plate. EVERYTHING was hot, delicious, and filling. We definitely had dinner covered because it was just too much to finish in one sitting! Would for sure recommend and visit again in the future. I'm not even a bbq fan but I was pleased! Eat here, you will NOT be disappointed! 😊

Amazing food! Fabulous people! Brilliant ambiance on the patio. And their portions are huge. Lots of parking around. Between all of us we pretty much tried every meat and all of the side. The Mac'n cheese was just alright. But the greens were fire. We will be back.

Could smell the smoking meat as I walked up to the restaurant. A basic no frills place that was clean and welcoming. Good selection of meats and sides. I ordered the ribs with beans and fried okra with a sweet tea. The food came out in a styrofoam container and was pretty full and looked and smelled great. Good amount of food unlike many other places that skimp on food. Ribs were tasty and sauce flavorful, fried okra was hand breaded and beans were good with a slight mustard flavor, sweet tea was good but could use a bit more tea flavor. Didn't think I could finish but I did. Staff was helpful and friendly, other customers remarked on how good their lunch was. Great lunch experience.

Walked in for a Saturday lunch, no problem finding a booth inside this unassuming haunt across from UT Chattanooga. Most patrons ordered to-go, I decided to eat in. I got the Rib Plate: Ribs were neatly stacked and brushed with a perfect amount of sauce that covered the ribs without drowning the plate. The pork Ribs were bursting with smoke! Delicious. The fries were well done crinkled cut and paired well with a little salt. The fried okra was also a serviceable side. Along with a hamburger bun, there was plenty of food to satisfy my Uber hunger. Chart Smoke House brings on the heat, a solid choice for BBQ in The Noog.

Authentic, simple, delicious. Good prices & kind service. Dang good pulled pork sandwich + good slaw. Worth a try if you like great bbq.

Stopped by here while my dog was going through chemotherapy at VCSG. The smell as you walk up to the front door was incredible. Super friendly staff. Place is not huge but plenty of tables to seat down and eat. Prices were great considering it was BBQ and the amount they gave you. Too bad I live over 2 hours away or I would eat here weekly. Parking area off the street is a bonus!

This place was on point! Myself and 3 others went here to eat. We are in town to do some training and we are all from out of town. I found this place on Yelp and a lot of the reviews were not very recent, so I was a little hesitant to eat there. I looked them up on their website and I saw that the owner was one of the cooks. In my experience, whenever the owner is hands on and enjoys cooking for his community it is usually a good sign. This definitely caught my attention. We decided to give it a try. We all went there for dinner and we ordered their Rib Plate. They have different types of sides. I had the potato salad and bbq beans. I also had their sweet tea and banana pudding for desert. Let me tell you, the ribs were outstanding!!!! The meat was very tender, it fell off the bone, you can taste the smoke in it, the sauce was perfect, and they give a lot of ribs. The potato salad was good and the bbq beans were delicious. The sweet tea was awesome and the banana pudding cake was delicious. They have seating inside and outside. The owner even came out and talked with us and the other customers. The young lady running the register was very welcoming, professional and very sweet. Customer service was superb. I am surprised that they do not have more reviews. This is definitely a go to spot when it comes to BBQ and hospitality. We were more than satisfied with this establishment. Very good prices. All of the staff were amazing and super welcoming. They don't call it southern hospitality for nothing!! Food was awesome and they even had the game playing that night. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely be back. Don't forget the cake, it was so good and the cake was moist and light.

This place is AMAZING! They have the best bbq in Chattanooga! The rack of ribs is a HUGE plate of ribs! The potatoe salad is out of this world and they have sweet tea so good it will make you slap your momma!!! Definitely recommend!!

Great food. Good prices. Not much seating, lots of takeout business. But there are a few tables available for a few small groups.

I can always eat ribs!! We stopped by around 7ishpm. If you expect your wait to be fast, this place isn't for you...(you can always call in your order and pick it up if you don't want to wait.) If you don't mind waiting a little while for food and chat with your companion go ahead and order!! Fresh, hot food is the best. The rib plate was DELICIOUS, and the potato salad is good, too!! They do stay busy, but that's okay. Service was on point for us friendly people. I'll be back to eat, more ribs, good Lord willing, and the creek don't rise! Oh, the bbq sace has a vinaigrette flavor, which I don't mind at all. Pretty cool vibe. The customers are mostly regulars and stay to them self and are friendly. Thank you very much! God bless..

Amazing local food downtown with very reasonable prices. We were surprised to find this gem in Chattanooga, late at night when many other places had stopped service by 8pm. The fried fish was excellent, piping hot baked Mac and cheese and old fashioned greens! This gem is a must to keep the family full and very affordable!

Food: Ribs have a good flavor tender order how you like wet or dry. Wet sauce is on the vinegar side. BBQ beans heated up pork and beans with a hint of BBQ sauce splashed at it. Potato salad mustard based had a good taste reminded me of Sunday church lunch. Smoked chicken breast was good but needed to be half the sauce for my taste but had a good taste and flavor. Fried are crinkled with seasoning good with some leftover sauce Sweet tea, canned drinks, and a few bottle options. Service: Fresh with a friendly attitude!! Ambiance: Very nice outside the seating area inside is pretty typical for the area.

I was passing through Chattanooga, and was trying to get someplace when I pulled over on ML King Blvd to check my directions. Had the windows of the car down because it was a beautiful evening, and got this whiff of an amazing smokehouse. I look up, and I see "Chatt Smokehouse". Now, I'm just passing through, never been in that part of 'Nooga before, but I'm feeling like Aladdin who just found a magic lamp. I figure I have to try it; I mean, the Almighty himself directed me to it! All I have to say is the - Best. Ribs. Ever. If you don't make it down there to get some of what James is cooking, you are SERIOUSLY missing out. Next time I'm in town, I guarantee I'll be back for a whole lot more!

Service was great. Very friendly cashier. It's a small place, but it wasn't too busy and we had a seat inside. The outdoor seating looked really nice as well. The food was fantastic. I got spare ribs and they were perfect. I like the creamy coleslaw. We were able to park behind the building. It's a very quaint and enjoyable place.

The staff is very accommodating at Chatt Smoke House. It was 100 degrees outside, but it was pleasantly cool inside this restaurant. I ordered the pork rib plate with 2 sides and a BBQ hotdog. The food was served promptly, and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!! The ribs were super tender and sauced perfectly. The mac & cheese was homemade, not the watery box mac & cheese you commonly find in most restaurants. The greens were also seasoned, just like at home. There were so many ribs underneath what you see in the picture. I couldn't finish my plate, and I took the hotdog home for later. If you want ribs and you're near downtown Chattanooga, don't hesitate to check out Chatt Smoke House. You won't be disappointed. Tell them Miami Dave sent you.

Excellent BBQ! It is like these folks were reading my mind! I had the pork plate with baked beans and potato salad. The pork was cooked to perfection and tasty, and slathered with a nice BBQ sauce that was a little sweet. This is my preferred style and it was delicious. The potato salad was my favorite "backyard style" with a little touch of sweet. It was excellent. And the baked beans were also great, also with a hint of sweet. The service was warm and friendly. There is no indoor dining here right now, but you can place your order inside (or over the phone) and they will bring it out to you. They have tables on the outdoor patio, so we opted for that, and one of the employees came out right away to open an umbrella for shade for us. The food was ready quickly, and everything was exactly as we ordered and very good. If you're not a sauce person, be sure to let them know. But this was excellent BBQ in my preferred style, so I ate way too much and was very happy!

While the service could've been better the food was excellent. Some of the best bbq in all of Tennessee. But the man that answers and places the orders is just rude for no reason. They'd get more business if they had a friendly face upfront

Overall disappointed. The reviews had my hopes up, but the actual barbecue was just not good. It tasted like it was leftover from last week. But the sides, like the okra and potato salad were great. The 2 stars however is mainly because of whoever answered the phone when I called in a takeout order. Whoever he was, he sounded like he hasn't dealt with a customer in years. He was rude, raised his voice, and hung up mid sentence. I wasn't sure how much my total was, when it would be ready, or if he took down my order correctly. I recommend trying one of the many other barbecue places in Chattanooga.

The food at Chatt Smoke House was delicious! The staff was friendly and very personal. I ordered the pork rib plate with mac&cheese and turnip greens. Everything was delicious. The food was hot and seasoned perfectly. Stop by here and I promise you won't be disappointed.

I try to keep an open mind about the restaurants I visit. I love visiting restaurants and want them to succeed. That being said, I have a problem with restaurants who don't try or care about their customers We searched online for a good barbecue place and saw Chatt Smoke House with decent reviews...which still baffles me. We walked 13 minutes from our hotel, to a shady area of town. Right away, we had bad vibes, as the restaurant was dirty on the outside with a handwritten note in the window. Inside was just as bad, with filthy floor, tables and chairs. The cashier was eating chips, put them away, and brushed off her hands before taking our order. My wife ordered the Barbecue Chopped Chicken Dinner with coleslaw and baked beans. I ordered the Barbecue Beef Dinner with fries and baked beans. We waited for about 25 minutes before our number was called. Unfortunately, when we got to our room and tried the food, it was absolutely DISGUSTING! My wife's chopped chicken was supposed to be barbecued, but was so undercooked, it crunched and had a sour taste. My Barbecued beef was literally Curly's or Lloyd's beef, just reheated. the sides were cold...even my fries were cold. A complete waste of $30.00 for terrible, undercooked, grocery store food you could make for $8 at home. Don't make the mistake we did. Save your money and patronize restaurants which care about the customers. No restaurant should take advantage of their customers by serving them bad/undercooked food, and then charging them. I wish I could understand the positive reviews for this place, but logically, I don't.

Some of the best BBQ that I have had not only in Chattanooga or anywhere. Ordered 2 rib plates with my wife. Ribs had great smoky flavor, fall off the bone, moist and had plenty of their delicious BBQ on them. Coleslaw, Baked Beans and Potato Salad were all excellent. Great quality and great prices too.

This place never disappoints me... I had the smoked wiener plate and it was delicious. The first time I went there I had the beef plate which was really good. Their banana pudding oh my it was delicious. The portions are a good size. You'll have lunch for the next day! The potato salad is also delicious. You guys have to go try this place!!! Very nice staff. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!

Where do I begin? The service was friendly and quick. I was surprised at how soon after our order, we got our food. Speaking of food... Amazing! I ordered the pork sandwich. The serving of pork was huge! So much more than I expected. And the flavor...all I can say is WOW! We were passing through on our way from Savannah to Nashville. I had looked up places to eat lunch and Chatt House was one of the top recommendations. It did not disappoint!

Located along MLK Bldv, parking is hit or miss, but that's nothing to do with the restaurant. We parked up the street a bit and walked about two blocks. As we got closer, the aroma pulled us in even faster. It smells amazing from the outside and even better inside. Walking in, you go to the rear to place your order. We talked to the hostess/ server for suggestions. I went with the beef plate because beans and potato salad are staples for any bbq place. My dining partner tried the chicken plate. We grabbed a table near the front windows and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for our order to come out. The beef was as amazing as the aroma promised. Tender and moist, and there was a good portion size. The potato salad was fine and the beans were pretty good. My dining partner really enjoyed the chicken. It also was moist, and the smoke flavor was subdued. Her fries were prepared correctly. This place may not look all fancy from the outside, but you can tell the focus is on the food, where it should be. This is definitely worth a trip.

What to expect? It is an off the beaten path BBQ restaurant. It is basic inside, limited seating, but full of happy people who make pretty darn good BBQ. They had fried okra that was really tasty. it Is very close to UT Chattanooga, about 14 minutes walking from their basketball stadium. I had the beef plate with okra and fries, with a good sweet tea.

Stopped by for some BBQ after a day of climbing. I got the ribs plate with beans and potato salad to go. The food was good but not great: 1. ribs were too tough, seems like they were cooked too long and past the optimal point of juicy and tenderness 2. beans are way too sweet 3. potato salad was too watery Staff was very nice, but not really wearing masks (2 of the cashiers did not have masks covering their nose and / or mouth so the masks were there for symbolic purposes).

James is the man!!! Best ribs I've ever had! Okra was excellent! Baked beans and greens were on point as well. Stop searching, just go!!!

Best bar b que in Chattanooga. If you call they rarely answer the phone but they r there it's just almost impossible to order lunch ahead. I so wish they would fix that problem that's ongoing. I've heard others say the same thing when I was there.

The ribs was not seasoned, I was really disappointed.Very little sauce, slaw not cut up enough.Not happy at all.

Moved back to Tennessee in 2021 and just by chance found Chatt Smoke. They make some of the BEST pulled pork I have ever eaten. Very nice people. Alvin is a gem.

Today was my first time coming in here. The staff was super polite and very welcoming, especially the lady that took my order at the register. I am from Memphis and I love BBQ, so I know a good one when I have it. I have tried so many BBQ places here in Chattanooga and this is the best one I have tried that is closest to home. Could not recommend enough. Will be coming back!!!

It was the unexpected things that become the best experiences. This was the case of going to Chatt Smoke House. Could not have been the most nicest people at an establishment to the level of almost being at home or feeling like being at home. Accessible parking behind the building or even on the street the business like many others in the area have seen a reduction of patron due to the covid-19 pandemic. I get the feeling that this establishment went out of their way to make me feel good as a customer despite their own policy restrictions such as dining in that I cannot ignore that point in writing this review. I want to shout out to the Cook ..i believe his name was Marcus (if it isnt..i apologize) who did an excellent job of giving recommendations on what was good what was not good on the menu. He was a very peaceful and courteous brother on letting me know what was good on this menu he went out of his way to get me a plate that was heavily filled with portions (thank you very much) and attentive to detail for customer service as something I been striving from all Businesses in general. Couldn't have been better. I also want to shout out the owner James (see picture of us) who introduced himself to me. Couldn't had been a nicer gentleman!!!! I wish their business all the success and if anyone visiting or passing through the area should give them a try. I had the Beef with slaw & fried okra. It was enough for two meals. Tasty, flavorful and a dieters' nightmare . Salutes to Chatt Smoke House Grade: A+++

Quite literally my favorite BBQ joint of all time. In my opinion, it is unmatched. Given COVID, the dining room was closed so make sure to call your order in first. You'll still probably have to wait once you arrive to pickup, but it is well worth it. Serving sizes are very generous for the price. I highly recommend the chicken and the ribs, and all side dishes are incredible. If you're lucky enough to get there before desserts are sold out, I recommend all of them.

Small place (read a neighborhood joint aka nothing fancy), clean, friendly staff, good BBQ. We ordered several plates of pulled pork, ribs, potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans. The sauce was tangy yet sweet and everyone was satisfied. The homemade lemonade and sweet tea were also good. Would go back if we were in town.

Came back from white water rafting and this was it!! The food was so good I got the rib plate and baked beans was incredible!! If you were thinking about going here do it and the customer service is incredible. I will be coming back!!

A wonderful stop in Chattanooga! It's the perfect location between a few breweries to walk to for some tasty and filling food. The staff was very attentive and funny! The portions are HUGE and amazing. The all star dishes were definitely the ribs and the okra. The rib plate had me stuffing my face and still having leftovers approximately 20 napkins later. The okra was perfectly seasoned and fried, some of the best I've ever had! My sister spoke very highly of the pork sandwich and recommended "going all the way" which meant adding coleslaw to the sandwich. Thanks for the complimentary cake at the end of the meal! Would definitely come back if I was in town again.

Out and about for lunch, wanted some local BBQ. Wanted to support local owned, so checked out Chatt Smoke. No dine in options just now cause of the 'Rona, but we'll worth the visit. The sauce was for me tangy (they described it as tangy and sweet) but so flavorful. I'm a tangier fan more than sweet or hot, so this cause was right up my alley. I got 4 bones along with some burnt ends in my platter. The outer skin was a bit tough, inside the ribs were plenty tender and fell off the bone easily. The owner is a kind, older fellow, who does his own sauce, and it shows. By the time I got to eating in the hatchback of my SUV, there was a big line forming. Great food, easy location, near to the riverfront and UTC campus.
