"Riverside Walking and Biking Trail Cochran Shoals is one of the most popular areas of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, which stretches through metro Atlanta . The flat trails are great for runners and views of the river and woods make exercise even more enjoyable. Birdwatchers, kayakers and bicyclists can all find something appealing Cochran Shoals. There's even a boardwalk over wetlands for more nature spotting. Note: The area is crowded on weekends, and parking is $3."

My daughters and I have been living in Sandy Springs for 2 years now and we just visited this incredible park today. The video doesn't do it justice. I had a wonderful time. So beautiful and peaceful.

I went here for a walk after it rained. It was nice and wooded. Feels like I was in the jungle. I will definitely go back when I have sometime

Unexpected Bamboo Forest on the trail. Lovely views of the Chattahoochee river alongside the NOC rentals for Kayaking and other activities.

This place is good for walking and biking. You can rent bikes from them. The trail is quite long.

Super busy and hard to find parking during the weekend. U will see car parked on the side of the road between this lot and the park next to it. Not sure if you will get a ticket but everyone parks there when the 2nd parking lots get full. Walk to the river isnt long and the launch is stepped so it is easy to launch from.

The trail to the Bamboo 🎍 Forrest was nice but short. Perfect for tubbers needing a brief walk before getting on the river.

Beautiful hiking trail. Not very challenging, fairly even a few roots to look out for. Great views of the Chattahoochee River and the birds and animals that call it home. I took my 4 year old and she loved it and didn't have too hard of a time walking the trail

If you are looking for a quick Chattahoochee hike, you might consider this one. This is a nice bridge to reach the island where you'll find a history marker and a boat put-in. There is also a bench on the island that would make for a peaceful place to hang out with a book. However, this is a main parking area/HQ for a river tubing/rafting company so the general area is sorta trashed. Depending on the day, you might find it somewhat crowded with their customers and all that goes with that. As for trails, they are pretty narrow so beware of poison ivy mid-summer...or just wear pants. There are also some ruins to explore around the trail mid-point.
