Over the years, there have been some galleries that I visit to educate myself— about the time, context, circumstances and beliefs that catalysed the work. I can name several, but one with whom I have a passive relationship of reverence would have to be Chatterjee & Lal. Invariably well-curated, the gallerist duo manages to make every inch count without compromising focus on any one of the pieces on display.

Went for Art Night Thursday, this gallery is a hidden gem in colaba. One should definitely visit and enjoy various artists there. Currently showcasing Hetain Patel's Exhibition!

This is a wonderful little gallery with very helpful staff. I was particularly lucky as I had only a day to spare in Mumbai and I managed to catch a new (and important) exhibition that had just been put up there of my favourite artist--I guess some of you will be able to guess the who the artist is from the attached photos!

A lovely gallery on the first floor of a bustling street. I have discovered artists here who are young but extremely talented. The owners/curators of the gallery obviously have very good taste. The opening nights are always buzzing and full of life

You can be assured that you will catch something interesting showing at C&L any time of the year. The gallery also hosts workshops, and frequently participates in art fairs and festivals.
