Chaweng Regent Beach Resort

I'm writing this review from the hotel right now. My wife, son, and I had a very comfortable 10-day holiday. The hotel is located at the beginning of the main street in Chaweng Beach, a famous area of ​​Koh Samui. It's situated in the lively atmosphere of Chaweng, but also offers endless peace and relaxation when you retreat to your room or hotel. The staff are generally very kind. I don't know about all the rooms, but the suites are quite spacious and provide all the comforts. The mini-bar is replenished daily. The breakfast has a wide variety. The internet speed is acceptable. The deposit they take upon arrival is a bit high. There are two beautiful swimming pools, one on the beach and one in the inner courtyard. And the inner courtyard pool bar is especially nice, and the staff there are very polite. The biggest problem at the pools is that even in the early morning hours, guests occupy the sunbeds by placing their towels there. The hotel management needs to be stricter about this. The beach is very beautiful and peaceful. During our visit (the second half of January), due to the tide, the beach disappeared until late afternoon, but in the evening it was incredibly peaceful. The gym is very clean, and although there isn't a lot of equipment, you can still keep up with your workout while on vacation. There were complaints about neglect on booking sites and in reviews here. While these comments are valid, I didn't see much neglect or wear and tear. Yes, there are minor things. And also, the resort is practically in the sea, so this kind of wear and tear is normal. But still, I don't think it's a 5-star hotel. However, I was quite satisfied with my stay and, as someone who has seen other parts of Koh Samui, I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Koh Samui.

We’ve just returned from our fourth stay at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort in 15 years, and I’m delighted to say it was every bit as wonderful as our previous visits. This resort is our favourite in Koh Samui, and it keeps us coming back time and time again.||The location is perfect—set about halfway along Chaweng Beach, it feels like a peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng Beach Road. One side opens directly onto a beautiful stretch of Chaweng beach, while the front leads straight to lively restaurants, bars, and markets. It’s also very easy to explore other parts of Samui with an inexpensive taxi ride.||We’ve stayed in both the Villas and Deluxe Regency rooms, and each has been spacious, modern, well-maintained, and just a short stroll from the beach. Even when the hotel is fully booked, it never feels crowded, and there is always plenty of space around the two pools to relax under the sun, cocktail in hand.||The daily breakfast buffet is legendary—so much choice and consistently delicious. Even our teenagers were up and ready for breakfast every morning by 9am, which says it all!||What really makes this resort special, though, is the staff. Even by Thai standards, they are exceptionally warm, friendly, and attentive. Many of them even remembered us from previous stays, which made us feel incredibly welcome and valued.||Thank you, Chaweng Regent Beach Resort, for a magical Christmas. We loved the location, the quiet of the resort and the room. We had booked one grand premiere double room and got 602 at check-in. Not sure if this was an update or what, buy we liked it. Clean, spacious, quiet. Breakfast had a lot of options. We loved our stay overall, well positioned. Nice people and overall good service.

We were greeted with refreshments, staff were friendly and welcoming. Took our bags to the room whilst we checked in. The breakfast had a great selection and overall the food menu catered for most. Great location to have sea views whilst eating breakfast. There is Parking across the road which was ideal for us accessed via a card. Had a seperate card for towels which was useful although if card got lost we had to pay additional fee (expected). There was never a problem getting Sunbeds as were all around the poolside. Overall hotel was convenient. Would come again.

I view it as a 4 star hotel. Breakfast did not have a choice of a 5star hotel in Asia. The range of dishes and the taste were satisfactory or good,never very good. Also the restaurant a la carte poor. We resigned and went to a wonderful restaurant closeby for very tasty dishes. The hotel looks fine, they provide as much mineral water as you need. Treat it as a 4****, well located place.

Back in July '25 we stayed at Chaweng for a few nights and had our wedding here! We had an unbelievable experience, all staff were super kind and helpful. Every day we were greeted with warm smiles and were chatting with everyone. The wedding planner, Air, was 10/10 - she was meticulous with every detail and was very clear with the information and plan for the day. Our guests had a brilliant time too and some are even visiting again next year! We're excited to come back ourselves, and we certainly will! Thank you Chaweng!

We got married at the hotel and wow what an experience!! Air was amazing, she guided us through the whole day, right from the early stages of booking the venue to the actual day. We felt so safe and more importantly informed right up to the finer details. I am not going to lie, before we arrived I was nervous as we had never even been to the island before so trusting it for our special day maybe have been quite hasty, however I can honestly say it was completely perfect!! The hair, makeup, photographer, wedding setup, celebrant, food, staff and of course the most important person Air could truly not have been any better. Thank you so much! Mr and Mrs Long

The hotel itself is bit tired and needs renovation - especially the wooden path is rotting away and dangerous. Also in the rooms - leaking shower and mouldy walls… The biggest disappointment however, was the service. Room service at strange hours, one day 10 am the next 5 pm. I needed to ask for bedsheets to be changed and floor cleaned after over a week stay. The spa bath wasn’t touched and just collected dust and debris (outdoor). The staff had a habit of popping into the villa at strange times - with some flyers or bug spray.. they just kept ringing the bell even when we were asleep or just let themselves in with no notice (walking up on my daughter changing). The was no “do not disturb” sign available, only a button to press that staff couldn’t explain where it was located. Also, the majority of clientele was Arabic or Israeli - very loud and obnoxious, with no regard to rest of the guests. Kids running wild and screaming and splashing everyone. Constant yelling from one side of pool to another…even though the location was great, very central - lots of restaurants and shops and nice beach I will give this one a pass next time…
