Che Bontà

This is the best pizza I’ve had in Italy, and the customer service is so kind. We have ordered takeout before and also we also enjoyed to sit and dine here with the nice seating setup. The caesar salad is the best one I have tasted in my life and is everything i’ve ever dreamed of.

My husband and I visited in July for our Honeymoon. Please believe me when I say this is some of the best pizza you will ever try. We enjoyed the margarita pizza and the Cesar salad several times. After a morning out in the beach this is the perfect spot. We were in Praiano for 7 days and we came here for lunch 3 or 4 times. We never waited to be seated. The service was amazing. The view and location were perfect. Honestly sitting there you feel like a local just chilling and waiting for your pizza. We had other pizza in Praiano but this was the best. We will be back!

After a long day, we were looking for something to eat later in the evening and decided to try Ché Bontà. The staff were very friendly, but unfortunately, the food took a while to arrive. Overall, the food was fine - right in the middle of the road. The starters were pretty solid, and the pizza was good. The steak, however, had quite a bit of fat, and the side vegetables were almost nonexistent. Still, it’s a decent spot to grab a pizza, especially since they offer takeaway, which is a nice option. 🍕

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! they are pushy, rude, and charge for things you did not order under assumption that they are complimentary. Our waitress asked if we’d want any starters which we said no to. We were not that hungry and just wanted pizza and water which we ordered. About 10 minutes later the waitress comes out with a plate of starters and says, “these are some of my favorites.” She then sets them on the table and leaves. Given that we didn’t order the starters and her saying they were her favorites we assumed they were complimentary, as from our experience throughout Italy proved this to be pretty common. As they were on the table we did eat some of them to try them out. We then continued with our meal. At the end our check came out and we were charged for each starter (8 pieces) €24 even though once again we never ordered them. We brought this up to our waitress and she simply said well you ate them. We told her we didn’t order them you brought them and then she stated, “well they were fried and that’s what you like” (referring to that we were american), ultimately no regard to the fact we had not wanted starters. To top everything off she then had the urge to still ask if we wanted lemoncello at the end after this conversation where we ended up having to pay for the starters we never ordered. The waitress kept pushing us the whole time to order more food which we did not. If you bring out food when we had not been asked to that is complimentary whether your guests eats it or not. Having no regard to your guests is beyond disrespectful and then making backhanded comments at the end. As someone who also serves, never would I ever have the audacity to bring food to a table who did not ask for it and then charge them for it. You can tell they are just trying to make quota. Overall awful experience and feel completely disrespected in all aspects. Also they only have outdoor seating but with no form of any extra heat for chilly nights so we just sat there cold.

We stumbled in here on a rainy day and were surprised with really delicious pizza! They have a ton of seating available on their steps, but we actually sat in the back patio which was really cute and gave us a view of the water. We each ordered a pizza (which gave us plenty of leftovers) and wound up enjoying 2 bottles of rose to wait out the rain. Highly recommend this place for a quick, delicious lunch!! They have a lot of menu / dietary options & free wifi.

We ate here multiple times on our trip to Praiano as it is the best you will find. Antonio was a phenomenal server and was super helpful in helping us order dishes that they are best known for. Will forever remember our meals/experiences at Che Bontà! (Order the Lemon Delight!)

Che Bontà is a very cozy restaurant that we thoroughly enjoyed. Although we didn’t have a reservation, they were kind enough to fit us right in. My husband ordered the sea bass, which came with a delightful potato and tomato soup. The server was attentive and even asked if we wanted the skin removed from the fish, which was a nice touch (as shown in the attached photo). I opted for the Mediterranean salad, which was fresh and tasty, though I wished it had included olives, as is traditional. Overall, we loved the great atmosphere and delicious food.

Believe me when I tell you that this is some of the best pizza and food I’ve had. Family owned restaurant with every part of the family working inside. It’s amazing to see, and you immediately realize that everything’s going to be perfect, because they care. We ordered a classic margarita, a calzone (which is massive) and a specialty dish that they brought out, which had artichoke, shrimp, and lemon, The pizza was outrageous. Incredible tasty, thin, very light and so was the calzone, fried lightly where you didn’t feel that you were so stuffed. The specialty dish they brought out was phenomenal. The dessert was an orange tart cake with candita (candied fruit) inside. So when visiting the Amalfi coast, definitely stop by Che Bontà in Priano and enjoy an amazing meal with some incredible people.
