Checkpoint Theatre (office)

Statement Piece • Thanks again to Checkpoint Theatre for another great production, this one felt closer to home being the work of our Yale-NUS College alumnus Myle Yan Tay. We indeed spent much of the night reflecting across what we felt we might’ve learned about the industry, to replaying the dilemmas through our lenses. It was my first time at the Black Box in National Library too; we came a little early (the first actually) but had great hospitality from Cheyenne, who also connected me with Chaney in the hopes of me bringing more of this to the college students. I love it when there’s always much to be excited about, and I’m definitely looking forward to what Claire Wong , Huzir Sulaiman , Tricia Tan , Rusydina Afiqah and the rest of this team has in store.

Having only a few days left in Singapore, I awkwardly walked into the Checkpoint Theatre office space looking to buy their comics. The staff working there were so friendly and accommodating. I bought 4 comics from them. Very interesting local comics which are presented in a beautiful large format on quality paper. My only regret is not buying their whole comic selection.
