Google
Nice place for a quick dessert and you only want cheesecake. From what I heard it used to be table service but changed to cafeteria style where you order at the front. Buy the original cheesecake with strawberries which is the best way to order and eat cheesecake. The gourmet is not bad which is mandarin orange and chocolate sauce. But the original cheesecake is better. One thing that is different with the cheesecake here and other place is there is no graham crackers base. But I would like to try chocolate cheesecake next time. However I recommend ordering original cheesecake with strawberries.

Brought to here by the relative we were visiting in May recently to cap off the day of activities. Very nice cheese cakes. And the ambience was great with a 2-piece band performing that night.

Google
BEST cheesecake in Granville! Absolutely delicious, will definitely be visiting again! The cheesecake is quite dense, but the fruit toppings evens it all out with its sweet taste. I’ve tried the blueberry and strawberry fruit toppings with my cheesecake, and personally thought strawberry was better. Will come back to try the raspberry!

Google
Been going for decades and was a treat every time. Last night was a disappointment unfortunately. The food quality had significantly went downhill. The cheesecake used to be high, soft, fluffy & creamy. It’s what set them apart to be the best in town. This no longer is the case. I’m sad for the lose for your quality Cheesecake etc. 😢

Google
One of the best places for cheesecake! It is deliciously rich, but the quality has diminished a bit over the years. I would still recommend this place though for all cheesecake lovers :)

Google
Cheesecake Etc. today still retains much of the same atmosphere it had 30 years ago. I remember the lighting used to be slightly dimmer back then, which made the vibe even cozier and more intimate. While some small things may have changed, the quality of the cheesecake has remained consistently good over the years. I especially like the fact that the cream they serve with it isn’t too sweet—it balances the richness of the cheesecake just perfectly.

Google
We ordered 3 cheesecakes, one of each flavor: original, matcha, and chocolate. We all agreed that the original was the best. The other two flavors weren't bad, but they weren’t particularly impressive either. The prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely come back to try other flavors again!

Google
A perfect late-night cheesecake spot to enjoy with family and friends. My top recommendation is the original cheesecake topped with strawberry sauce and pecan crumble—pair it with the almond and nutmeg drink for the ultimate combo. I absolutely love this place—such a cozy, vintage vibe that makes every visit feel special.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cozy, late-night dessert spot in Vancouver, Cheesecake Etc. is the perfect hidden gem. Tucked just south of the Granville Bridge, this charming café is full of character, with a warm, inviting vibe and offers live jazz on most days. Unfortunately we did have live music on our visit but we will be back for that experience. The cheesecake here is truly something special--light, creamy, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. We tried the classic with strawberries and whipped cream, and the cheesecake of the day--tiramisu. They were both so good. I wish the tiramisu was offered on a regular basis as I feel it would be popular. They also offer other flavors like chocolate and matcha, which I can't wait to go back and try. The atmosphere is intimate and nostalgic, making it a great place for date nights or quiet catch-ups with friends. It's open late (7 PM to 1 AM), which is a huge plus when those late-night dessert cravings hit. Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't yet--it's a true Vancouver treasure!

Yelp
Very good cheesecake! I originally wanted to visit because I heard there is live music/jazz. Unfortunately, the Sunday night we went, the musicians were on holiday. There were still busy regardless. I do love that the menus is just cheesecake. Just about every type and you can customize your toppings! There's also a special cheesecake of the day, ours was tiramisu which was so fluffy and glorious. It did not feel too heavy. The strawberry topping on the original was just as good!! Will come back on a night with live music.

Yelp
One of my favourite cheesecake places in Vancouver! It just tastes really good! It's also a really cool spot to dine inside if you're looking for a night out in town. I like the original the best, but adding the strawberry is a nice compliment too.

Yelp
It's been ages since I've been here. We were nearby, so decided to give it another try. The place was packed with people, and there was a long line, but luckily we arrived before it got too busy. We ordered both the matcha cheesecake and the original. The texture of the original was smooth, but the matcha one was just okay. I also ordered a latte, which paired well with the sweetness of the cheesecakes. We thought they would be playing some live jazz but it was a recording.

Yelp
This place continues to bring back university memories every time I step through the door. Over the past years, they have expanded and why not. The place is casual, but there is ambiance. Tables are spread apart and lighting is dimmed. There's a grand piano at the center of the room. This place is great to catch up with a friend or friends. They only serve three types of cheesecake so they have to be exceptional......and they are. The foundation of the cheesecake is dense, but not overly. It has a great feel and texture to it and you can customize it with various toppings. They also offer a variety of drinks to go with the cheesecake.

Yelp
If you're looking for an excellent date night dessert spot, Cheesecake Etc. is the place to go. The highlight of this charming establishment is their fresh-made cheesecake, where you can personalize your dessert by choosing both the cheesecake and the fruit topping. On our visit, we indulged in the strawberry cheesecake, which was perfectly tart and sweet--a delightful treat for the taste buds. The matcha cheesecake was also a bit of a miss for me as it didn't really taste like matcha, was denser than the original cheesecake, and felt like it needed some kind of sweetness (fresh fruit) with it. In addition to their delectable cheesecakes, Cheesecake Etc. serves a variety of hot drinks, including teas and coffees, making it a cozy spot to unwind. Whether you're ending a dinner date or just craving a sweet treat, Cheesecake Etc. promises a delightful experience.

Yelp
Hands down the best cheesecake I've ever had (excluding Japanese cheesecake. That's a different cheesecake type in my opinion.)!! I LOVE coming here for a late night treat. The cheesecake is NOT like a NY cheesecake. It's best described as a cross between a NY cheesecake and a Japanese cheesecake. It has the cream cheese base of NY cheesecake but the light, airiness of a Japanese cheesecake. Not heavy at all. I highly recommend the original with a sauce of your choice. All the fruit toppings are good (My fave is the original with strawberry). Price is a bit much for a slice of cake but this place is unique and their cheesecake is like no other one I've had in Vancouver. The ambiance is quite dim and intimate. The setting is dark, candles lit at the tables. A very romantic setting that's good for a date or a quiet/slower paced catch up with friends. There's plenty of space and tables available in their various rooms. The staff are nice and prompt with their service. Cheesecake is served pretty quick but drinks will take a bit more time. Things to beware: opens late but closes late (7pm-1am)
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice cheesecake. Just tried the original cheesecake with raspberry and these two went super well with each other. The citrusy flavor of raspberry nicely toned down the sweetness of raspberry. The ambience is super cool as well as their service.

Yelp
Cheesecake Etc. stands as a longstanding dessert cafe with a wealth of memories for me. Following dinners, drinks, or nights out with friends, this has been our go-to spot to conclude the weekend. I hadn't visited this place since the pandemic began, so one weekend, I decided to return. The craving for cheesecake after dinner was too tempting to resist. What we ordered : Matcha cheesecake and Tiramisu cheesecake, and both were enjoyable. However, it seems that either the chef or the recipe has undergone a change. The cheesecake texture I once knew resembled whipped cream--so light yet still creamy. This was the reason I used to frequent this place after dinner or drinks with a group of friends. As time has passed, things have changed. Nevertheless, I appreciate that the shop continues to run its business admirably, allowing me to revisit and reminisce. However, please do not misunderstand. The cheesecake was still delicious with a smooth texture that I enjoyed. It's just that the cheesecake I was accustomed to seems to have evolved or changed over time. I am particularly fond of the ambiance at this place. The dark, antique-style furniture and interior have consistently retained their charm. I've heard that live piano music is offered here. I plan to visit when live piano music is available next time.

Yelp
Another amazing time at Cheesecake Etc. Nice relaxing live trio with Latte and world famous cheesecake! This is our goto place for dessert for a romantic evening out or with friends or visitors. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
We came right about 1 hour after it opened. Parking is insane and if you miss the turn light, prepare to drive 7 blocks just to make a uturn. The cheesecake isn't all that, it's mushy and has a sour taste to it. If you prefer your cheesecake soft and subtle, this is it.

Yelp
Cheesecake etc is definitely still deserving of praises for their cheesecakes after all these years. I love how this place is consistent with its classic original flavor cheesecake and that it opens late. Service here is simple - order, pay, seat yourself and your order will be brought to your table. Place is quite spacious so lots of choices and seating area to suit your preference. I enjoy dining in when they have evening live performances. This place has chilled ambiance and is great for casual dates. Nice choice to catch up with pals with good dessert portion to share and classic dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth after dinner. My favorite cheesecake to order is the original flavor with blueberries. The have different speciality flavors on special menu and my personally favorite is still their original cheesecake flavor. I have tried their tiramisu specialty cheesecake (as shown in photo) and I still wanted to order another slice of original flavor after the tiramisu cheesecake. Guess that shows how much I love classic cheesecake :) You can also order a whole cake to go. It's a convenient option if you need to bring a whole cake for potluck or a house party celebration.

Yelp
Just Cheesecake and lots of it. Creamy goodness that has just the right amount of sweetness perfectly matched with a coffee. Late night crowd, in an intimate casual setting. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Ahhh cheesecake ... some are made great, some are just crappy & some are just simply outstanding! It's been years since I last popped into Cheesecake Etc. CE has been in Vancouver for decades ... talk about staying power! Located at the foot of the Granville Bridge, it used to be a stopover when heading out of downtown Vancouver as it was usually open till 1am. Who doesn't crave cheesecake in the midnight hour!?! I was a little hesitant about trying it again but I said heck why not!? Glad I did! This spot could really be a cool late night hangout honestly. I love the jazzy themed pictures, the piano in the corner & small stage. As things return to normal (whatever that means right!?) as the pandemic winds down, CE will have live music playing again. It's actually quite big inside & could easily sit large parties. Being slightly chicken to experiment with other flavours of cheesecake, I stuck with the Original Cheesecake with strawberries & I loved it! It was rather tiny but it definitely hit the spot in my belly! Bear in mind they do not have a humongous selection of cheesecakes to offer as say in comparison to the Cheesecake Factory down south. However, I do like the vibe here - a kinda 'speakeasy' but with no alcohol. I will go back & try other cheesecakes as well as the coffee & tea. Operating hours are daily 7pm till 1am.

Yelp
I had heard so much about this place and I finally picked up 6 slices to go. There were empty seats on a Thursday night (close to midnight). I tried the original cheesecake first (no whipped cream or other toppings), and it was so good. I wasn't completely blown away, but Cheesecake Etc definitely has a place among the best cheesecakes I've had. It tasted very similar to a New York cheesecake (i.e. cream cheese dominant), but had a texture that couldn't be more different. It was very light and airy, almost yogurt like. I immediately devoured a second slice. I also took a bite of my friend's original cheesecake with strawberry sauce, and thought the sauce ruined it. I ordered for myself a third slice - chocolate cheesecake with chocolate sauce on top. Just as I expected, it was more of a chocolate cake than a cheesecake. I was taken aback a little by the "chocolate sauce", which tasted and felt like chocolate buttercream, as opposed to the chocolate sauce you'd see on a sundae. I'd rate the original cheesecake without toppings a 9/10, the one with a 7/10, and the chocolate one with chocolate sauce a 5/10. The matcha one in the photo was my friend's, and given how much I dislike matcha, I didn't feel the slightest temptation to try it. Being from NYC, I'm spoiled by the amazing and varied cheesecake options it offers, and still I believe Cheesecake Etc would easily hold its own there.

Yelp
Vibes are nice, service is great, cheesecake is... surprisingly not. Not sure why it's crustless but that was a huge miss. If the cheesecake was exceptional then it would make sense as they're trying to emphasize the actual filling. But the original was satisfactory while the macha was too dry and old. However it's a vibe and staff were very friendly and quick. If there's a live pianist it's definitely an intimate hang out. Food: 4/10 Service: 7/10 Experience: 7/10 Value: 6/10

Yelp
I went here with my friend A on December 16th. We were craving some dessert after our dinner, and decided to go to Cheesecake Etc since it was close by. Cheesecake Etc is much quieter than before. It was always popular and packed with young people back in pre-Covid times. Great spot for dates and hangout. The couple who owned this place used to play piano and sing one time I visited back then. Now it's just a quieter dessert cafe while people come in and out to get take outs. I had the original cheesecake with strawberry sauce ($7.25). It was pretty good. Service was fast. Loved this soft creamy goodness! I realized it's best to eat this sooner than taking home via transit. Try this place you won't regret it!

Yelp
Ah what an interesting cheesecake. This was my first time trying Cheesecake Etc. They've a few flavors with a lot of customizations Interesting cheesecake with no graham cracker crust. Very fluffy and tasty cheesecake. We got their original cheesecake with blueberry topping. I'll definitely visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious creamy cheesecakes of different flavours to choose from and sauce to go with it. My favourite is the original with either strawberry or blueberry sauce and recommend it for first timers. Plenty of drink as well and whole cheese cake is available for take out only. As someone who is fond of cheese cake I would say that Cheesecakeetc is a favourite go-to, for its original rich cakes and beverages. Ambiance is serene with sometimes live piano. Though recently their was none. Went their recently and Covid19 precautions are well practiced from tables to line ups. The restaurant opens at 7pm but maybe go a little bit early as there is always line up before opening. Price is just right and service is wonderful.
google avatar

Mary C.

Yelp
My favourite place for cheesecakes for the past 20 years. On a typical beautiful evening, a line up forms around 6:40pm for the 7pm opening. Yes, I have line up before and well worth it for an evening of great desserts, music, coffee and laughs with friends. Once this unnormalness is over, I hope Cheesecake Etc will still be here for many more years to come. Today was a beautiful day and nothing is better than finishing the day with the original cheesecake with strawberry sauce ($7) at a nearby park with a view of the sunset. The cheesecake and sauce are not overly sweet and blends perfectly with the creamy cake. The protocol for takeout and social distancing is well done here. Felt completely safe for myself and the staff. I'll be back!
google avatar

Ronald H.

Yelp
They used to be my go to cheesecake place but recently i got take out and it was very unrefrigerated (think: melting glop) when it arrived home 15 mins later Other than that flavours still ok!
google avatar

Lindsay K.

Yelp
Cute spot! A very small menu with a few different cheesecakes and toppings (pay extra to add fruit, sauce, or nuts), and one non-cheesecake option (raisin and walnut cake when we were there). Cheesecake was pretty good although a little pricey considering the size. Restaurant takes only cash or debit. Service was very quick when we were there, late evening on a weekday, although wasn't particularly friendly. The cafe had kind of a weird vibe - very dark inside even though it was sunny and bright outside. I found it a little odd but maybe they're trying to create some atmosphere! I've heard there is live music there but not sure when (weekends only?)
google avatar

Ginny C.

Yelp
I've visited this place twice with two different experiences but overall, I am a fan. The first time, I ordered the original cheesecake with strawberry and it was amazing. The matcha cheesecake was not as good and I am speaking as a big fan of matcha. The second time I came here, it was around 8pm on a Sunday and the cheesecake was still partly frozen. The server didn't come around at all so I didn't get to ask them about it. It definitely changed the taste and creaminess of the cheesecake and I was greatly disappointed because I was raving about it the entire time to a friend that has never been before. Also note, this place is cash or Canadian debit card only. I mention this because I tried to use my debit card (wells fargo, chase, bank of america) and it wasn't accepted. I had to walk down a few blocks to withdraw money from the ATM. Overall, I would try this place again.
google avatar

Gayan P.

Yelp
A long-lasting dessert place. They specialize in cheesecake. I like that they are so specialized, but I like my cheesecake a bit firmer than they do it here (so -1 star). However, the place is open late, and has a cozy vibe inside. During some hours they have live piano music. This is place is great for a date.
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
The cheesecake here is soooo good - great dessert place after dinner, and good for both friends gathering as well as date night. There's jazz music playing in the background and the cheesecake is very light and melts in your mouth. Also, all cakes come with whipped cream unless otherwise requested :p We ordered the Original Cheesecake with strawberry fruit toppings. The strawberry is so fresh and has the right amount of sweetness to add to the cheesecake. Also ordered the Matcha Cheesecake, and I especially enjoyed the flavor with whipped cream. For drinks, we ordered the eggnog latte which was a holiday special. Quite pleasant as well, all in all a great experience!
google avatar

Nelson C.

Yelp
I am actually very impressed with their protocals right now. You walk in, see a menu on the table, give your name and number up front, order and pay up front, get seated. They leave your order on a tray on a table nearby so that you serve yourself. This is probably the most socially distanced restaurant I have been in. They have tables spread far apart. The service is still friendly. The cheesecake is excellent as always. There is tons of space between patrons. I am sure glad this place is open and able to wonderfully follow protocals.
google avatar

Ingrid H.

Yelp
My favorite cheesecake of all times. It has been open since I was a kid, and I kept comeback to it because the flavors and creamy texture that felt like a cloud that melts in the mouth stay the same. If you like a light cream, crustless cheesecake that's not too sweet and is a little tangy, it would be just a perfect way to wrap up your evening or date. This one will certainly make fond memories! It's almost angelic. ;)
google avatar

J T.

Yelp
Had the plain cheesecake with caramel sauce a couple days ago. It was fantastic. Explosion of flavor after every bite. Staff was very friendly too. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Kenneth W.

Yelp
Solid classic cheesecake if you like the rich style. It's a strong creamy piece so best to combine it with a nice cup of tea or latte. The atmosphere is dark. At night they have live music so if you're looking for a place to hang out and check out local talents at the same.time, this is a good place. Parking can be a challenge but if you go.late enough, it's not bad. We sometimes buy a whole cake to go too. If you like it enough to eat such a rich cake more than once a.week or if you have guest over, it is a good option.
google avatar

Nami A.

Yelp
This has always been my go-to place for cheesecake. I've tried the matcha, chocolate and the classic vanilla and the best out of those is the vanilla, hands down. The cheesecake at this restaurant is much more airy and supple than the traditional cheesecakes, and be forewarned: it has no crust. Buuut you get to pick your toppings such as blueberry, strawberry, etc. If you catch them on a certain day, the tiramisu cheesecake is on special and if you ever get the opportunity to try it, I implore you to do so, because it's so YUMMY! The restaurant itself is very dark, very quaint and smells a little water-damaged, but that has always added to the appeal for me. In the main lobby, there is a piano and sometimes you get to witness the owners(?) playing beautiful jazz music for everyone. It's a perfect place to visit on a cold, rainy night when you want a comforting plate of sweets and a hot, steaming tea latte!
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Can't believe it's taken me this long to visit this local establishment. I'm not a fan of cheesecake because it's too dense and rich for me but I love how creamy theirs is. It's great having places in town open late that aren't necessarily pubs. Always down for a spontaneous evening treat at cheesecake etc! On our most recent visit, we tried the egg nog cheesecake on special feature and we thought it was good. They take orders and payment up front. Service is great and friendly. Minus one star because the hot chocolate was lukewarm and not hot at all.
google avatar

Calvina T.

Yelp
First of all, this is a dimly lit place, sometimes there's even live piano; overall it sets a romantic atmosphere. They also have many seatings and a couple of bigger group tables. I do think they have one of the best cheesecakes. Even though there are many types of cheesecakes out there, I'd say the ones here focus on the heavier side. Heavy in that the cheese flavour is heavy, but overall texture is on the lighter side. To put things in a bigger picture, it is definitely heavier than Japanese-type cheesecakes, but lighter than the classic New York cheesecakes. On the menu, there are a variety of flavours such as strawberries, blueberries, toasted pecan, or even chocolate cheesecake. However, I simply enjoy the original cheesecake simply on its own. It is topped with house-made whipped cream which I found complemented the cheesecake well (even though I don't usually like whipped cream). It would be a bonus if they had a graham cracker layer on the bottom.. If you don't like cheesecake, there isn't anything else here for you besides the drinks.
google avatar

Vinh T.

Yelp
Looking for a late night snack? Do you have craving for cheesecake? Well look no further! When I was in Vancouver, I had that craving at night and my friends took me here. At first from the outside, I thought it was a bar with the dim lit atmosphere but that is what adds to the vibe of this place. We rolled into the place and it was a place suitable for family, chills and dates. I had ordered the traditional blueberry cheesecake while my friends got the matcha version. Unfortunately the cheesecakes don't have the graham base crunch...but it their desserts have more emphasis on the cake itself. The cake wasn't too sweet but heavily creamy in a good way. May your cheesecake cravings be fulfilled. -Vinny

Crystal R.

Yelp
This place is by far the BEST cheesecake I've ever had. Not sweet & so yummy!!!! Definately worth your money. Highly recommend....LOVE IT i have the original with raspberries.

Yelp
Interesting place! They have a minimalist menu consisting of 3 base types of cheesecake (original, chocolate, or matcha) with the option to add various sauces and toppings. They also had a special cheesecake (piña colada when we went), which I assume is a regular thing. There's also a pretty encompassing selection of drinks, including lattes, teas, and cider. I had a matcha cheesecake with blueberry topping, which was delicious! Their cheesecake is light but creamy, and the matcha flavour was integrated well. They were generous with the topping, but it didn't totally overpower the matcha. The one thing that's off putting to me about them is the prices. A slice of cheesecake is pretty small (actually the perfect size for me if price weren't a factor), but with the price you might expect something a bit bigger, and adding toppings really hikes up the price. What I got cost about $8! Yes it's good cheesecake, but quality can't justify that much money for one little slice. They had an open piano when we went (Friday night), so we got to hear some live music which was nice. The lighting is really dim. It's very atmospheric, good place for a date or to go with a few friends.

Yelp
Came back to visit this long standing cheesecake specialty cafe in Vancouver. It was a walk down memory lane and I can tell this place is still loved by patrons. We were here Wednesday around 830 pm and it was quiet but as the night progressed this place filled up fast. Cafe specializes in delicious home made cheesecakes unlike anywhere else. Soft and moist with delicious toppings. They have the daily special cheesecake offering. Happy to see Matcha cheesecake as an addition and a sign of the times. Other long-standing flavours still available. Service got a bit slow as people filled up the cafe. Family friendly and great for gatherings and dates. Overall a must try if you like cheesecake.
google avatar

Queenie K.

Yelp
Was recommended this place. Their cheesecakes are not as heavy as NY style cheesecake. They are soft and creamy but I couldn't really taste cream cheese. We tried all three flavours: original ($5.24), chocolate ($5.95), and matcha ($6.9). All weren't very sweet. Chocolate tasted a bit like chocolate mousse/cake.
google avatar

Cy W.

Yelp
I have been going to this place on and off for the past 10 years. They still have the best cheesecakes in town. Simple ... But still the best. It's simple because you can only choose between plain and chocolate cheesecakes. You do have choices on toppings: strawberry, blueberry, chocolate etc (some for an extra fee) The restaurant space is big with multiple rooms and the atmosphere is nice and romantic. It'd be more romantic if they had a liquor license so I can have a glass of white wine with my cheesecake!
google avatar

Yelp
This is definitely my go to place for cheesecake in Vancouver. The cheesecake is so creamy, soft, and cheesy. Yes, I like to taste a bit of cheese in my cheesecake lol I say this because I feel that ironically, the recently popular Japanese style cheesecakes don't really taste much like cheese... seems more like just a hint of cheesy aroma in a spongey cake. I won't say I hate the latter, but I feel Cheesecake Etc's cheesecakes really hit the spot for me. I will warn first timers though that their cheesecakes do not have a crust. Yes, you heard me right, but trust me even if you're a must have crust person I think you'll still enjoy the cheesecake there. I know because my husband really loves pie and cheesecake crust but still loves the cheesecake at cheesecake etc. They offer 2 different kinds- regular classic and chocolate. You do have a choice of many toppings to add on either of those to customize your cheesecake. My favorite is the classic cheesecake with strawberry topping :) if I am able to share though, I can't resist but to get the chocolate option as well! It tastes like the smoothest, cheesiest, dark chocolate goodness you can lay your hands on... Only reason for 1 less star... ok maybe this isn't fair but it does bother me a bit that they open so late! I believe they open at 4pm? Or later...? But they do stay open late for those nights you want to stop by after a late dinner too. Definitely give it a try and hopefully you love it as much as I do!

Yelp
This hurts to give this review as I have been going to Cheesecakes since the 90's. First I will start with the fact that they have the best cheesecake and fruit toppings I've ever had. However, I realize the pandemic has changed things for dine in restaurants but this place has done nothing to still create that lovely ambience it used to have. The lights weren't working and kept flickering. The tables were placed in a way that you could see not much thought was involved to work around the restrictions. They could easily create a wonderful ambience still. Instead it felt cold and uninviting. No table service. you order up front and they bring you a tray with your order behind you to serve yourself. Do yourself a favour and get takeout.

Yelp
The two of us wanted some dessert after dinner so we decided to come to Cheesecake Etc. The place wasn't very busy when we arrived so we got to sit wherever we liked. I remember how delicious the cheesecake was the last time I visited. Thus, I had quite an expectation from Cheesecake Etc. The server came by with the menu and told us that the feature cheesecake was sesame cheesecake. It seemed like an interesting creation so I decided to give it a try. The cheesecake definitely had a strong sesame flavour. I didn't expect it to have such a heavy taste but I enjoyed it. The cheesecake had a nice speckled appearance to it, which probably meant they put the real stuff in there. However. one thing that I didn't like was how soft it was. It also felt like I was eating mush because it didn't take me any effort to cut it with my fork. I thought it would be harder and therefore offered a better texture overall. Also, the whip cream was a complete turn-off. It tasted so bland and watered down. It didn't taste great at all and truly ruined the sesame cheesecake when eaten with it. Service was non-existent after we ordered. My cup was empty and never refilled. I couldn't locate a server anywhere, I wasn't sure where they all went. I ended up paying about $8 for a small piece of sesame cheesecake. With the quality and service, I'm not sure if I would return.

Yelp
I honestly don't know how many times I've come here. The cheesecake and service have always kept me coming back for more. This is not your ordinary New York style cheesecake. It has no crust, and it has a creamy texture. You can top it off with whatever you choose, but you will not go wrong with the fruit toppings. It's dimly lit and perfect for after dinner chats or hangover cures. Cheesecake always helps :) Pro tip: get the cheesecake frozen!

Yelp
*** In Short *** Cheesecake of the lighter and creamier variety. *** In Depth *** Cheesecake Etc caters to a very particular crowd: one that prefers lighter and creamier cheesecake than normally found among its Western brethren. Now, that's not to say that they're light in the way that Japanese souffle cheesecakes are, which are more akin in texture to brioche bread, but rather, light in the way of, say, whip cream or cream cheese. Now, if that makes you cringe or grunt a bit, then their cheesecakes are probably not for you. But, if you enjoy the rich, creamy mouth feel that something like a creamy cheese spread can offer, you're exactly the audience that they're targeting, and I would highly recommend you try them! ***Accessibility Info*** N/A (relatives brought two of these home in the midst of a major snow storm)

Yelp
Pricey, over-rated cheesecakes. Way better quality for about the same price at Trees Organic. At almost $7 a pop it's too soft and light and I like mine rich and creamy. Then again, different strokes for different folks right? You might dig it a lot, who knows. It's certainly a good hangout place coz they close at 1. And plenty of seating meaning no wait at all. Ambience's somewhat lacking. Now back to the value proposition (or lack thereof), a small little latte was 4 bucks, and another 4 for Twinnings earl grey! They should at least use Mighty Leaf tea bags. That said, the service was great and the manager's nice. Still, I wouldn't go back unless I have absolutely no where else to go.

Yelp
Contrary to numerous outstanding reviews from other yelpers, I did not enjoy my first time experience at Cheesecake Etc. The atmosphere was quite dim but it is a place that can accommodate a lot of people. First and foremost, the service was absolutely terrible. I went there last Thursday around 9.30pm. The minute we walked in, one of the waitresses told us that we could sit anywhere and then she came with menus. This was the last time we saw her. We had to continuously wave at another waitress to get her attention so we could order. I ordered the chocolate cheesecake with strawberries. Even though I do agree that this cheesecake is very unique due it being lighter than a regular cheesecake, it tasted like a chocolate mouse. I was not able to taste any cheese and the whip cream did not feel fresh. Moreover, we were not asked if we needed a water refill at any time. If you do like your cheesecake tasting like a light mouse and do not mind the service then you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
My favorite cheesecake place in Vancouver. Not a heavy New York style - don't come here if you want that thick, heavy, cheesecake. This is a lighter smooth taste that isn't to be missed! Always order the regular with strawberry - it's a classic for a reason. Green tea and raspberry are both nice too, but strawberry beats them all. Very sad after the owners passed away as we used to love coming here to hear her sing and him play piano.

Yelp
Spectacularly light and delicious. Some of the best cheesecake you'll find anywhere. I shared a piece of Pina colada cheesecake, a coconut cream cheesecake with pineapple chunks poured over. The tea lattes are exceptional! Open late for a post concert or theater midnight snack. YUM!

Yelp
The place wants to set a slow and relaxing mood with low lighting and jazz music. This is to enhance their type of cheesecake, which is a bit less dense and tastes lighter than a new york type cheesecake. Cheesecakes range from $5 to $7 before you add any toppings or a drink. Go for: cheesecake Don't go for: the best decor or variety

Yelp
I've heard so much good things about this place in town. So my friends and I went here last night. It was a total opposite experienced that we had. When we went there around 10:45PM it was a bit busy. We're 2nd in line. I ordered and wondering why the cashier guy didn't gve me an order number or whatsoever to track my order, so I asked my receipt just in case. 15mins later, our orders still not there. Take note, it's only 2 slices of cheesecake. Then I told my friend to go in the front and tell them our orders hasn't been served yet. The funny thing, the cashier guy which is ( masculine, neat and proper looking) excuse my word but who seems he only knows is to go to the gym and impress people, especially girls-- was totally clueless on what he's doing. I asked him what happened to our order and he said " I DONT KNOW" and asked our order again. I was so pissed when he told me that. I fired him back and told him.." you dont know? We're fcking sitting here for 15mins now for 2 slices of cheesecake. It's just like I ordered medium rare steak in the restaurant" he responded to me " oh we dont have steak here" I was like, oh boy! Common sense is not very common at all. He ruined my night. So, we had our order and the server guy didn't sure enough if that's our order. He said, " did u guys ordered matcha too?" I told him, Mr. We've been waiting like forever, we didn't ordered matcha cheesecake. Maybe that's for someone else's who's waiting for years like us either. He stuttered and told me that MAYBE it was for us for complimentary thingy for what they've caused us. I am not buying it at all. Taste wise, it's not impressive. Very foamy and too much whip. Cheesecake should be creamy and dense not airy at all. For the price of 6-10$ per serving it wasn't acceptable. You can have a good descent slice of cheesecake and coffee at Trees and Organic for that price. Ambiance was okay, dark and romantic (someone's playing piano)but I think it was not a good theme for a cheesecake place. Overall, it was not a good experience at all. I will never go back again. If there's a "0" star here, in a heart beat--I will give them whole heartedly. This place needs a good management to train right people properly!
