This place is incredible. First off get the Carrot Cake, I don’t care if it’s breakfast or dinner their carrot cake is an orgasm in your mouth. Dog Friendly patio, which they brought out a water bowl and a snack for them. Their bread is addictive! The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious & the gravy was on point. Service was fast and friendly. Their prices are fair, but totally worth it because everything was top quality. Overall just go here you won’t be disappointed!

First time here. I was in OKC looking for a good lunch spot at Cheever’s Cafe came up multiple times. I had read they can get very busy. I arrived about 11:15 and it only had a few people in there. Smaller place that is semi-upscale looking. Server was with me very quickly and very friendly and answered all my questions. I ordered the prime rib sandwich with house made potato chips. The sandwich was excellent. The meat was so tender and the rustic bread did a great job holding it all together even when dipped in the au jus. The sandwich also has arugula butter and horseradish on it. It was one of the best prime rib sandwiches I have had. The potato chips were also very good and there were a ton of them. While waiting for your entree they do provide you some delicious rolls with a seasoned butter to snack on. It was also very good. Overall it was a great meal and service was spot on as well. I will for sure come back next time I’m in OKC. I have been since told I must try the famous blue cheese potato chips on my next visit.

Nothing bad to say about this place. The food is amazing, the service is amazing, did I mention that this place is amazing. When we walked in they asked if we had a reservation, we didn’t but they were able to seat us anyway. So might want to make a reservation if you have a party with you. Food came out quick, hot and delicious. Chicken fried steak was amazing as well as the risotto. Make this a place for dinner as often as you can!

In 2025 I’m headed back to try out their food! On this visit my party of 3 only went for dessert, which was off the wall delicious!! We had heard of this fantastic Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball and knew we had to try and we did not leave disappointed! The are 3 sizes too choose from basically small, medium & large. The small 1/4 lb which was perfect for me. However, if you go larger you better have some help! The third member of our group chose the Giant Carrot Cake and he shared with us, no doubt one of the best Carrot Cakes I’ve had! It was so moist & delicious you’ll definitely get a to go container. I’m certain it would be just as moist the next day! Our group only went for dessert but after looking at the menu we decided we’re coming back for the food! This is definitely a 5 Star location based on what I saw so I have to go back and confirm. You know if the dessert if excellent the main menu has to be just as good. More often than not we go for the food and leave little room for dessert, but I’m here to tell you leave room for dessert you won’t regret it!

Google
An absolute find. Quaint, high end food without being overly bougie. The dress code is high end casual. Our server Will was excellent. We recommend the shrimp and grits, bread pudding, scalloped potatoes and more. Excellent t in every way. Highly recommend this spot.

Outstanding First Visit to Cheever’s Cafe My son and I recently visited Cheever’s Cafe for the first time to celebrate my birthday, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Our server, Ryan, was both friendly and attentive—his outstanding service truly elevated our evening. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager, Cory, who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. The food was equally impressive. I had the shrimp and grits, which were rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. My son ordered the chicken fried steak, a which was delicious and very generous portion. We started with the savory strudel appetizer—beautifully presented and packed with flavor. Our cocktails were expertly crafted, and the meal ended on a high note with a scoop of ice cream topped with cinnamon-infused pecans—an unexpected and delicious touch. Cheever’s Cafe delivered on every level: hospitality, atmosphere, and cuisine. We felt genuinely cared for, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Google
The food was good but not special. I have eaten at a lot better places for quite a bit less in price and got more food. I was expecting more for the price. It would be nice to have salads served before the meal...small cute rolls are served. Tablecloth, candle and flowers on tables gives the place atmosphere. Outside patio tables and chairs. We had one drink each with our meal. Be prepared to spend $70. Or up to $100 plus for 2...not including the tip.

The picture in the bathroom perfectly sums up my meal here. It felt fancy and I was stuffed. We started with the blue cheese chips. The green onion pesto is bright and flavorful cutting the fattiness of the blue cheese sauce. The chips were perfectly crisp and light, and it had a great saltiness. The blue cheese was a quality cheese with robust flavor and creamy texture. I would come here for that dish alone, which is why it is featured so heavily on the photos posted here. The rolls are delightfully herbaceous and come with a butter with course pink salt. They are warm and perfectly accompanied the meal. I ordered shrimp and grits. The grits were nice and creamy and the shrimp wrapped in bacon were cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. The jalapeño cream gravy is really what makes this dish. I understand why it is also heavily mentioned and featured. The gravy was superb and the chicken fried steak was of good quality. The potatoes were okay, but if you really enjoy a red skinned potato, you will likely give the potatoes much higher marks. Service was superb. Our waitress suggested ordering a half order appetizer and I greatly appreciated the suggestion as it would have been too much to have a full order between the two of us. The plates were beautifully plated and presented. Highly recommend for a special occasion. It gets very busy so I suggest making a reservation. The website makes it simple to make one. Parking is limited so you may have to walk quite a bit to get there once you have found a spot.

Yelp
The service here is incredible! We came with a group of seven including two toddlers, and the servers were so kind and so good about bringing Kid coloring pages and crayons and making sure the kids food came out first. It is also great that they have a kids menu, which consists of corn dogs, Grilled cheese sandwich and chicken strips. The adult food is, of course, phenomenal and very generous in portion sizes! The chicken fried steak should definitely be split between two people. I got the seafood tamales, which were so good. My husband got the ribeye which was cooked really well, but he did feel like the sauce overpowered the meat a little bit. The drinks are also great! We will definitely be back again hopefully for a date night without screaming kids haha.

Yelp
Very elegant ambience. Other customers were well dressed. White tablecloth dining. Food was Hardy and Good. - Blue cheese potato chips (5/5) best combination of potato chips I have ever eaten! The best part of the meal. Green onion pesto was a perfect combination to the blue cheese and salty, crispy potato chips. - Shrimp and grits (3.5/5) the concept looks like it would be really good but locked depth of flavor. Bacon wrapped shrimp detracted from the shrimp itself. - Chicken fried steak (2/5) no flavor, lots of calories... not sure how that's even possible overall the appetizer was the best part of the meal. The house bread was better than the entrées. Would definitely come again for the ambience and Blue cheese potato chips!

Yelp
We love this place. It's always so clean and the food is great! The bread and salted butter is to die for.

Yelp
Another great experience. This was actually the 15th anniversary of our first date at Cheever's. Devin took great care of us and delivered fantastic service as has always been the case. We've celebrated birthdays and anniversaries with groups as large as ten. Rest assured that the staff are up to the task. We started with the famous Roasted Chicken and Pepper Jack Strudel. If you know, you know. You could honestly make a meal out of this appetizer. No trip to Cheever's is complete without the strudel. The balsamic glaze on top is amazing and a perfect addition to the plate. My husband had his favorite meal of Tortilla Crusted Alaskan Halibut. If you're looking for an interesting twist to halibut this dish is for you. I ordered a small cup of the Cheever's Chicken Tortilla Soup because it's perfection in a cup. You can order similar soups elsewhere but they are just not the same. For my entree I chose the Italian Sausage Rigatoni. Unfortunately it was a miss on this night. It's not a dish I typically choose and it isn't among my favorites but I was looking for something different. I've had it previously but it didn't taste the same tonight. Don't take this as a negative judgement because I've truly never had a bad meal. The dish was fine, but something was missing. Ordinarily we order the ice cream dessert but it was just too big for the two of us to handle. If you have a big appetite you'll be fine. We usually share it among four people. But I'll admit that we've gone to the restaurant, sat at the bar and destroyed one between the two of us. If you've never had it you must give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We love Cheevers. Service is great. Food is delicious. Ambience is perfect for brunch with friends or a dinner date. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Also they are child friendly without it feeling like you have to give up the classy atmosphere. Anytime we are in OKC we swing by. There is one in Tulsa now too.

Yelp
I had to write an update because we had the most amazing meal here tonight. The food was so delicious that I just want to rave about it! I had the salmon served with a polenta cake, collard greens, and a red pepper sauce. It was so deliciously flavorful that I made sure all my table mates tried some. My husband had a special which was crab stuffed shrimp, and he loved it. We have been here several times, and we know what we like to order, but we both stepped out of our box and tried something different. We were so pleased that we did! Well done, Cheever's!

Yelp
Went here for my 26th birthday brunch. The party room was beautiful and secluded. The waiters were fast and friendly! I had the chicken fried steak (with a chicken breast instead of steak) and it was fantastic! I really loved the blue cheese chips as well. Super grateful for the pecan crusted ice cream birthday dessert!

Yelp
Cheever's is amazing - yet have excellent cuisine and the interior atmosphere is classy and cool (it used to be a flower shop started by Belle Cheever, the first baby to be born in OKC), and it feels like stepping into a Time Machine that goes back to the 1930-40s. Service was also excellent - the server made an iced tea with a bit too much lemon but was willing to redo it and another server gave me honey which was an awesome combination. The tamales I ordered were fantastic. Highly recommended and an OKC landmark!

Yelp
We finally got around to trying Cheever's Cafe and it did not disappoint. I had the Tortilla Crusted Halibut and honestly don't know if I will ever try anything else - it was phenomenal! Our table also enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and the Shrimp and Grits. Both were a huge hit! I highly recommend trying out this OKC classic next time you're in the area.

Yelp
Wonderful service, amazing wine and bread. Our main plates were so tasty and filling. Our waitress recommended the dessert (roasted pecan ice cream ball) and it was insane. She said the typical size is a POUND of ice cream. We opted for the smallest portion for 2 of us. This was our first time here and we made a reservation before going to the OKC Thunder game. We were wearing our Thunder gear, and didn't feel out of place. But there were others more dressed up than us, so still a perfect place for date night! Definitely going to be going back sometime to try out the brunch menu!

Yelp
Cheever's never disappoints. I took a friend who is visiting from out of town and she was duly impressed. We shared the Chihuahua layered dip appetizer. Oh my goodness, I could've skipped my entrée and just ate the dip. It was so good! We both ordered the molasses chicken entrée with amazing Brussels sprouts and grits. This is the first time I've ordered this, and I really enjoyed the sides (AMAZING flavor!) but the chicken was not my favorite. In spite of that, I took home my leftovers and my husband was thrilled with the chicken. Our server was super helpful without being intrusive, and you just can't ask for better atmosphere.

Yelp
Anniversary brunch at the spot Cheevers Cafe. I remembered to RSVP so arriving on time and so thank fil I did because the place was packed! The hostess sat us at a quaint table by the window in the corner. It was cool but I always love a booth which I didn't see any. The restaurant is really an open space for dining and very cozy (small) crowded with tables. I looked at the menu and was hoping for other options for brunch like pancakes things like that but ordered from the menu. I had like a brisket hash and hubby had chicken fried steak with potatoes and eggs ... both our meals had a hollandaise sauce which was just okay. The perfect ending to the meal was a phenomenal gigantic carrot cake. It was moist and stacked with goodness. I literally took a bite and smiled. I couldn't put my fork down and didn't want to share with my husband who equally loved the desert. Thank you Cheevers for the meal. Also you did have pancakes but I didn't know until I saw someone else order (bummer) maybe next time!

Yelp
This place has such a great cozy atmosphere. We sat at the bar since there weren't any tables available and had great service. My only reason it's not a 5 star is my Italian sausage ravioli lacked flavor. Pasta was cooked to perfection but you couldn't taste the sausage at all. Other than that everything else was great. I have to update, the waiter/bartender brought me extra sun dried tomato's and it really made it better. When they open on Tulsa we will definitely go!
google avatar

Yelp
I preface by saying: I always want to love the old standing restaurants. My conclusion: This place isn't that great and sure isn't worth the money. To charge what they do...it better be some of the better stuff I've had...and it isn't at all. Better have something that is a different spin good....and this place doesn't deliver on that front either. Service was very good...attentive and consistent. But I'm there for a great meal (first)....and this place missed for the money. And the parking lot parking....quite the nutty small parking lot setup.

Wilkinson R.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. Everything was fabulous and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Cheever's is a local gem and must-try spot. It's been here for years and I haven't seen any drop in quality. Let's get the big obvious thing out of the way first. They serve what is probably the best chicken fried steak in Oklahoma. In fact, it was probably about 7 years before I ever tried anything else. That being said, I've not been disappointed by anything else but I'd still suggest that u go with the chicken fried steak if it's your first visit. Also, the chefs specials never let me down. On the last visit, we were told about the Al pastor tacos and dad ordered them before I could. I found relief in how delicious the soup of the day was. Cheever's is probably in my top 5 OKC restaurants and though there is often a crowd, the food is always worth the brief wait. The drinks and cocktails and good and reasonably priced and the dinner menus may be seen as a tad high but well worth the scratch-made freshness and high quality ingredients. And please don't neglect yourself.... TRY THE CHICKEN FRIED STEAK!!

Chris K.

Yelp
Wow! Saturday Brunch in OKC from out of town, and came to Cheever's... AWESOME! The Bloody Mary was so unique. Try a half order of the Bleu Cheese chips, amazing. Had the Cowgirl Benedict, delicious! Espresso martini was over the top for Kim! Totally a treasure find. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Good food not bad at all just not my cup of tea. Inside is nice looking and very vintage. Service was great. The only thing is my food was not the best for what I was expecting.

Allyson E.

Yelp
Manny was our server and he was great and helpful and fun. He matched our energy. I got the masa vallo con huevos and it was incredible! I will definitely put cheevers at the top of my brunch spots

Yelp
While in Okc looking for a lunch spot we chose Cheevers, based the plethora of 5 star reviews. I left my first visit to Cheevers very underwhelmed and a bit disappointed. Arriving without a reservation the hostess directed myself & my 6'5" husband to the smallest table in the furthest corner next to the bar. Considering the room offered multiple open tables, I assumed reservations must be booked and arriving soon. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. *see photos After being seated for 15 minutes our server arrived. Immediately he took our menus, making us aware, we had been given the wrong menus. Obviously, we had ample time to browse the menu and were ready to order when he arrived. After awaiting "kitchen approval" to order a Salmon Salad @3:00pm on Sunday, he returned with good news. We ordered: 1. The spicy Caesar salad which includes: Little gem lettuce, calabrian chili, grated parmesan and bread crumbs. My hubs being a self proclaimed "Caesar connoisseur" thoroughly enjoyed the layered flavors paired with perfectly seasoned & sautéed shrimp. 2. The Cowboy rubbed salmon salad which includes; Baby spinach, roasted corn, fried okra, pepitas, tomatoes, goat cheese and an onion vinaigrette. Sounds tasty right? To my surprise when the salad arrived, the visual didn't match the menu description. (No mention of sautéed) Ready to eat, I dug in. The combo of ingredients in this spinach salad seem genius but sadly it's lacking in flavor and overly oily. Hubby's Diet Coke was served & refilled without ice. Overall, poor service in this mostly empty restaurant.

Yelp
The service was great. The special: red snapper was bland and the risotto is too much flavor. Another special: 12oz filet was not bad, cooked right and flavor is good. Seafood tamale taste the best, it is a rare find.

Yelp
Food- the dishes were hot and fresh and the presentation was great. Service- the service was very professional and you weren't hammered with interruptions. Ambiance- was very cozy and relaxing. The only gripe I had was the tables were just a bit too close otherwise the experience was fantastic.

Yelp
Swanky place. Innovative food. Great cocktail. Had the quinoa avocado salad -- it was unique. Good for small celebrations

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a long time so a girlfriend and I decided to go here to celebrate our newest business adventure. We both ordered them molasses chicken. Our chicken was quite delicious and juicy, but our grits were a bit dry. The inside is super darling! The cozy ambience and friendly service will definitely make us want to come back.

Yelp
Went here for brunch with some family and had a great experience. The wait staff were friendly and the food was very good. It's in a cultural part of town so if that's your thing, you'll love it. This wasn't enough for me to want to go back, but it was good.

Yelp
I visited here since I was also working on 23rd Street, about 10 minutes east of this location. They also happened to show up on Yelp as one of the best restaurants in the area. I looked further and saw they had a chicken fried steak among other several classy menu items. In my experience, when an upscale restaurant has a CFS, it's usually damn good. When I ordered it, the bartender (because i sat at the bar) said people come from all over to order the dish. Their menu is not that large and consists of many beef dishes, so sorry for vegetarians. They would have to order a small plate, a soup or a salad, pretty much. They also have 2 daily specials that were not on the menu during my visit. A chicken and a fish dish. Also, their dessert are homemade, and 2 were normal size, 2 were large enough to be shared. When I arrived, the dining room wasn't that full... but my only seating option was the bar. Either they're out of reservations, or they just don't seat single customers at tables. Turns out by the time I was leaving, they did seat a single at a table near where I was at the bar, doubt he had a reservation. The cfs was delicious, and I could tell the meat was good quality. There was a lot of breading I ended up pulling off, but still a substantial amount of food for the price. You get 2 approx. 6 oz steaks that are fried in really tasty batter that isn't too salty. The ends were well cooked and not burnt like some places that pound the meat too thin or cook at too high of a temperature. The steaks are resting on top of homemade mashed potatoes, which have some pieces of skin. These were delicious, too. The cocktails looked delicious and were made by a friendly bartender who knows his stuff. My only regret was not ordering one. Attached are photos of before and after, and a postcard which they give you when paying.

Yelp
Cheevers is a small jewel slightly hidden off 23rd street in north OKC. This is an affordable but elegant dinning experience that provides both a small and home like feel with the flair of fine dinning. The service was phenomenal! From booking a larger part of seven, just hours beforehand, to the waiters at our table, everyone was flexible, understanding, and accommodating. I had the grilled ribeye, with cheesy jalapeño scalloped potatoes and asparagus and my wife had the Italian sausage rigatoni with goat cheese and mascarpone. The serving size was filling and more than expected. The steak was cooked perfectly but had a unique sweet wine sauce that was surprising and satisfying. I highly recommend both these dishes. At the end of the evening they brought us a free seven layer carrot cake for my mother's birthday that was so large it feed the table. Currently, I am waiting for a picture from another guest as I didn't get a chance to take a photo before it was sliced up and dished out. It was the best carrot cake I have ever had, please no matter how full you are, get this cake.

Yelp
Wonderful, local upscale restaurant. Great for date night or brunch! If you go for brunch, is it a bit cheaper but the quality still stands! Atmosphere is always charming along with great service.

Yelp
Wow! Our service and meal was incredible! I had the chicken, but more importantly, the best Brussels I've had in quite a while. My mocktail (pleasantly pear) was fantastic. The old house vibe and cozy atmosphere was comfortable and unique. I loved it!

Yelp
We had Sunday Brunch at Cheevers Cafe with friends before the matinee of Sponge Bob Squqre Pants at St. Lukes Poteat Theater. Cheevers has been one of our favorite OKC dining venues for over twenty years. Previously a floral shop, it's a cool venue with lots of charm. The restaurant is broken up into separate areas, and it can be a bit tight. Some of the four tops are too small for four, a bud vase, a bread basket, bread plates, four water glasses, four drink glasses, salt and pepper, and silverware. It can become quite a challenge. The menu is fun with a mix of traditional and somewhat eclectic items. The food quality is excellent. I had roasted chicken enchiladas. They were tasty with the salsa verde and garlic creama. It was served with cilantro rice, which was unspectacular. Based on the rice, I would rate it a 4/5. Jan had the cowboy benedict, a chicken fry, roasted potatoes with an egg on top of the chicken fry. It was excellent. She gave it a 5/5. Our friends had the quinoa avacado salad and Paul's Big Boy, a traditional bacon and egg breakfast. It was a very enjoyable brunch!

Yelp
We loved the food that we had at brunch so much that we made dinner reservations a couple of weeks later. Highly recommend the food & service!

Yelp
Loved this spot!! My halibut dinner was superb, I wanted to eat the entire thing and lick the plate! We also tried blue cheese chips, unique and tasty. As well as the chicken strudel, that was not my thing, texture was off and the mix of flavors was odd. Service impeccable. Will be back next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Luke H.

Yelp
A great spot in OKC. I came at an odd time in between lunch and dinner. I would call this stripped-down fine dining. The quality of service and food are on par with any steakhouse, but the atmosphere and entrees lack the pretension of most fine dining restaurants. I went with the special which was a pork roast with Parmesan crusted asparagus, fantastic. I also got the blue cheese potato chips which were a richer and lighter take on fully loaded chips.

Yelp
An Uptown classic that never disappoints, Cheever's is characterized by an innovative menu and great service. The dining area has a unique flair due to its retrofitted building. To beat the rush, make sure to arrive early or make a reservation. We tried their beef stew, which was featured as the day's soup, salsa verde crab cakes, braised short rib sandwich, and brie-LT with "side" Caesar salads. The main entrees were good; there are no side salads, so you will pay the upcharge for the full, and the crab cake was really delivered. Overall, it was a good lunch experience, and we will be back.

Yelp
Cheever's Cafe is an upscale Southwestern & Southern cuisine restaurant in Oklahoma City. I went on recommendation from some locals. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Wednesday night, but they had open bar seating where they served the full menu. I was greeted by Cameron, the bartender, and he told me all about Cheever Cafe's history. In 1938, the Cheever's Cafe location was originally a flower shop that was run by the Cheever family for multiple generations. By 2000, the location transformed into the restaurant you see today. The new owners, Heather and Keith Paul, kept the former flower shop intact as much as possible. There's a stylish Deco storefront built of limestone and black glass with huge plate glass windows and terrazzo floors. There is also a 20-foot flower display cooler in the middle of the cafe where they currently use it for their wines. According to Cameron, the restaurant is known for Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak and Shrimp and Grits. He mentioned that Oklahoma City is a new hub for filming Hollywood movies, and Leonardo DiCaprio actually came in to try the Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak before. For dessert, Cameron had recommended the Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball and the Giant Carrot Cake. I wanted to try as much as I could: [COMPLIMENTARY BREAD] +Bread and Butter - The bread was incredible; it was so fluffy and warm. Highly recommend coming here for the bread! - 5/5 [CRAFTED COCKTAILS] +Summertime Smash (Buffalo Trace Bourbon, strawberry hibiscus tea, strawberry-agave syrup, and basil leaves) for $12 - This was great on a hot, summer day! It was sweet and had a fresh basil aftertaste. - 4.5/5 [MAIN PLATE] +Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak (jalapeño cream gravy and garlic red skinned mashed potatoes) for $26 - I don't like chicken fried steak typically. It's something I have always avoided ordering. However, after being told this was what Cheever's Cafe was known for, I had to give it a try. To my surprise, I enjoyed it. It came with two large pieces, and it was quite filling. The jalapeño in the cream gravy was subtle and tasty. I would have to say this was the only chicken fried steak I have ever enjoyed in my life. - 4.5/5 [DESSERTS] +Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball (vanilla ice cream rolled in brown sugar, roasted pecans, and red chile - smothered in chocolate sauce) for $5.50 (quarter-size) - I love vanilla ice cream in chocolate sauce. With the roasted pecans and other additions, this was a great way to end the meal. - 4.5/5 Overall, Cheever's Cafe was a fun experience in Oklahoma City. My favorite part was definitely the complimentary bread and butter. It was like biting into a warm cloud. If I ever came back to Cheever's Cafe, I would try the Shrimp and Grits as my main and the Giant Carrot Cake for dessert. I would recommend checking this place out, but definitely grab a reservation if you come with multiple people!

Yelp
We hadn't eaten here in probably 10 years. Still the high quality food and service we remembered. I had to have their famous chicken fried steak. Wow! It is plenty to split w a friend. Cocktails were spot on and the bartenders were fun to talk to. Always fun to sit and watch at the bar. So glad they are putting one of these in Tulsa soon.

Yelp
Hard to pinpoint any one thing or even two things that really stood out. Because everything is well above par. From the service by the wait staff to the ambiance to the food and drinks. This is now one of my favorite spots in OKC!

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Solid choice. We went the day after Mother's Day for my dinner. I made a reservation for 6:30 but we showed at 6:15 and were seated. Our server Mario came up and greeted us and we got water to begin. My husband always gets the chicken fried chicken (not steak). I ordered the ribeye medium and subbed spicy shrimp risotto for the tamales. Mario missed where my husband said he wanted chicken not the steak that's on the menu and went to correct it. This definitely effected my food. When the food came. My steak was just warm and his food was pipping hot. I didn't want to wait to eat (we weee starving that's why we were early) so I ate it. It had a great flavor and my husband had two pieces even though he's not a steak fan. The spicy risotto was top tier as usual. I got the strawberry smash and it was delicious. The strawberry being frozen in the ice tricked me! Overall a nice meal but seating in some areas can be pretty tight and parking can be a booger.

Yelp
Been coming here for years. Never disappointed. Great menu standards and inviting specials. Had the halibut with risotto tonight and it did not disappoint. Spicy risotto lived up to its name. Not overwhelming, but delightful heat. Fish well prepared, crisp outside, moist inside. Service is prompt and attentive but not intrusive. Wait staff familiar with menu and happy to accommodate requests for dietary restrictions. Will continue to go back again and again.

Yelp
As always, the food and cocktails are amazing! I absolutely love Cheever's because of the wonderful atmosphere, attention to detail, and great staff. Our server suggested getting both the hollandaise and gravy on the side, and it was THE best suggestion. Alone or mixed together, they are a great addition to the chicken fried steak. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
The food and service were outstanding. I sat at the bar, and Miriam was an excellent bartender with suggestions and service. The food and drinks were delicious and of great quality. I am for sure adding this restaurant on my list to revisit when I travel to the area.

Yelp
My wife and I recently visited Cheever's Café for a nice dinner. We started with the Roasted Quail Short Stack. This appetizer was delicious. Crisp tortillas were filled with meaty tender quail, gooey Mexican cheeses, creamy ancho chile sauce and topped with salsa verde and juicy diced tomatoes. For my entrée I went with the dish the restaurant is known for: Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak. Tender meat was covered in a crisp breading, topped with a thick creamy peppery jalapeno gravy and laid on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

Yelp
Dear Cheevers, another day goes by and I go to bed dreaming about your molasses roast chicken. It is so ridiculously good. I want to live at Cheevers and eat the menu every day. I wish I could swim in your cheddar grits. The bread is the pillows that I sleep on every night. Every time my mom comes to town, I know I'm eating good that night, because I'm going to Cheevers. I love you. Also the salmon was SO good and the shrimp risotto made me hallucinate that I died and went to heaven because of how phenomenal it was. See my amazing pics bc i love this place please go here. Best restaurant in OKC by FAR

Yelp
10/10 Ashley was wonderful! And ask Louisa was our server. They both have a detailed, accurate and expansive knowledge of the menu. I Love it when that happens, don't you? We all enjoyed our meals and I personally loved mine. I really enjoyed myself. But I had good food, good fun and good times!

Yelp
Short rib: very dry. Had to use a steak knife, and couldn't force myself to finish it. The sides (potatoes au gratin, and brussel sprouts were good though) Red snapper: great taste and the risotto was really good The ice cream ball: the pecans were good. The ice cream was solid. But the chocolate sauce on top is tastes like Hershey's chocolate syrup from Walmart... Service was great.

Yelp
I love this hidden gem! Such beautiful atmosphere, great food, and I enjoy the staff. I always recommend this place to my friends and family. If you try Cheevers, you NEED to get the Roasted Pecan Ice Cream Ball!! If you are full, you better save up some room for this one in a million dessert. And, it's only $10!!!!
