The atmosphere is the key factor. Open, dedicated space, not competing with other food trucks, loud music is playing, was very lively. Weather was very nice the day we went, which made the atmosphere even better. Staff is cheerful. Take out orders were more than those dining in, but the staff was working efficiently. I didn’t find the food excellent or even unique. It was good food but I wouldn’t go out of the way to eat there. I ordered the chicken bowl. For the price, I thought the portion was less.

Google
We ordered Chellas for catering a birthday party. The food was amazing and everyone loved it! The food came very well prepared and labeled so we could keep it warm for our guests. The food stayed fresh and delicious throughout the night. There was plenty of food to feed everyone. Added bonus that everything is gluten free! I highly recommend Chellas to anyone looking for a great catering option!

Google
Chellas is so good. It has so much flavor - the chimmichuri and cilantro aoli are absolutely amazing. I'd highly recommend the yuca fries. I prefer the arepas over the more rice-bowl style options, but really, those are delicious too. If that's all they sold it'd be delicious, but the arepas are just so good that I can't pass them up. Also, the whole menu being gluten free is a huge plus for us and our family as we have multiple people in it who can't eat gluten.

Google
The acclaim of this place is really deserved. Flavor, combinations, portions all really merit the highest score I give. I had the chicken chimichurri and pernil arepas. Chicken also has avocado which I didn't even realize but appreciated. So much flavor in the pernil and both meats were juicy and tender. I do wish they had a spicy hot sauce to add, only complaint (and they might and I didn't know!) @lanco.food.dude

Google
Incredible find while traveling across PA. Chicken arepa was chock full of meaty, cheesy, avocadoey goodness. Brussels sprouts were sent from heaven. Will definitely make this stop again

Google
Cool little spot. Service was great and the overall vibe was outstanding. Food was fresh ,flavorful, seating had shade, with music in the background.

Google
This arepa sandwich is fabulous. I had the lomo arepa and the lomo was overly salty and juicy but the taste was on point with great sauce options. We also had the yuca - very good - and the brussel sprouts which were perfect 👌 Paired a nice IPA from the beer vendor partnered with Chellas.

Google
In a food truck/shed outside the parking lot, by the road side. Has several parking spaces. Not nice looking environment. Pernil arepa $10.38, Lomo arepa $12.26 Both taste very good, but small size with no sides, overpriced and overrated. Would have given it 5 stars for the taste, if the prices are 30% lower. Definitely worth a try, but overpriced, overrated, and over hyped.

Yelp
Been dying to try Chellas since seeing how well they rank on the Yelps list across the USA, let me just say I can see why they are ranked so high!!!!!!! We didn't preorder and it was super cold and windy but there was a fire going to keep warm while you waited, the music was awesome and the decor of the outside seating was very tropical and plentiful, (can't wait to come back in the warmer months)! Okay the food- wow- the arepas were perfectly seared and still soft with a great corn flavor. I got the lomo arepa and the steak wasn't just put on top but also at the bottom of the arepa- great portion size and flavor especially with the chimichurri on top. My husband got the chicken chimicurri arepa and I don't think he spoke for 10 minutes as he wolfed it down! Platanos were piping hot and perfectly fried, Chellas knows how to do it right and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Chellas for a while. Yesterday was the day. There is no indoor seating. On arrival they had a very pleasant and fire going in the fire pit. The attendant asked if this was my first visit, was glad I was there, he was helpful and patient. I decided to order "Lomo Soltado Bowl". Steak, onions, fried Yucca, special sauce and spices over rice with black beans. It came with a side of Chimichurri sauce. I requested an additional side of "Mommas hot sauce. I'm glad I did! I only waited by the fire for ~10 minutes before my order was ready. They have created quite the "Tropical feel" hideaway. There are plenty of outdoor spaces and table to eat. Some are under cover. Given the windy, cold conditions yesterday I opted to take the meal home. On the drive home, as the aroma filled my car...I knew there was a flavor explosion awaiting my taste buds. Wow, I was not disappointed! The meal was excellent. The portion was quite large. The yucca was fried to perfectly, the beef, vegetables and spices were delicious. The rice and beans were a perfect compliment. The Chimichurri sauce was a perfect blend of herbs & spices. True to tradition it was salty and savory with just the right combination of bitter and sweet. Grandma's hot sauce was a spicy flavorful addition. Very good. If you're in Greenfield at the Costco or Lowe's and hungry; this is the place. It's easy access with plenty of parking. Will be back. Next time with friends.

Yelp
What a fun concept! I placed my order online. It was easy to make adjustment and easy to pay. The food was absolutely amazing! We all tried something different and we enjoyed the rice bowl, the Arepas, yucca fries, and plantains. Everything came as ordered, was piping hot and delicious. Outside of the food truck, they have a fire going so if you want to sit around and have your meal, you'll be nice and warm. I can't wait to go back and try more of their items.

Yelp
I would never know about this place if it wasn't for me checking out yelp top 100 places and discovered this one is on the top 5 and I must have drove past it many time when I am around Lancaster. Decided to check it out for lunch one day when I was close and it did not disappoint. A food truck that made it to top 5? Let's see what it's all about. Service was quick, food was fresh, price was reasonable, portion size was not bad. First time heard of arepa and looked it up and found it was a stable food in South America. All of the food was flavorful, I would come back again for more. There is a seating outdoor if you want to eat there, it's quite nice to eat there on a sunny day. People were friendly and the ambiance is good.

Lauren W.

Yelp
There is 10000% a reason this was rated #1. I ordered pickup from here. It was ready when I got here. Side of the road pop up by Costco. They had vibrant music playing and a bonfire going since it was cold out. Picnic tables outside to dine there. Had probably about 5-6 parking spots. I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which had a nice sweet pineapple sauce on top. A little oily, but they were good! I also ordered the pernil arepa minus cheese add avocado.. I barely needed the sauces (which were also amazing)! The pork was so juicy and tender. Nothing was dry. The beans had flavor and salt. The plantains were sweet and amazing. Everything was good. Best thing I've eaten maybe ever. I am bringing my family here next time we're in town. I can't say enough - just go there and eat.

Sara C.

Yelp
Phenomenal!! We sat at the outside picnic table and got the Lomo arepa, Yuka fries, and the corn side. Omg - everything was so delicious, the guys cooking were very quick and friendly, will definitely be back!! The corn was a last second decision and I will never not order it, wow so delicious. The flavors were amazing, steak delicious and the sides of sauces were perfect addition. The chimichurri sauce is I could eat everyday!

Leah H.

Yelp
Can I just to a huge shout out to Chellas catering?!?! They did our wedding with their truck at a local venue. We love their food but we didn't know that they also have special menu items available like drinks and apps. We were completely blown away by the custom appetizers they did for us. They did shrimp and pork belly skewers that are not normally on the menu, so it felt super accommodating that they were willing to fit our style. Loved having them as part of our special day, easy to work with and food that everyone couldn't stop talking about! Pc. My MIL who is obsessed with them now, lol

Philip L.

Yelp
I always wanted to try this area. Passed by this place so many times in the past. It is right next to Costco and a Tesla charger. We stopped by and they have their own parking lot so don't worry and turn in. It doesn't look like much on the outside but they have a lot of staff working inside this small location. Seating area outside, but when it is over 100 degrees, it's hard to justify sitting outside. We actually took the food to Sheetz and ate because of my delicate skin. I got two arepas and one bowl. The bowl has a good amount of food and it just felt more worth it than any chipotle. The arepas can be messy to eat, but just treat it like a bowl. The food.... Is amazingly strong in flavor. I missed the impact of food after coming back overseas. It really got me excited to eat out again. The flavor and textures of the yucca were superb and it blended in nicely with the sauce and chimichurri. Definitely a memorable spot if you are in Lancaster or just passing by.

Elisa F.

Yelp
What a spot! We visit Lancaster County every couple years and love our regular spots but they become repetitive. We saw Chellas with a 4.9 Yelp rating and had to try! We loved that they were outdoors and dog friendly. Tucked behind a Costco lot you'll find the little Chellas food truck but they're pumping out some big eats. These servings were huge! We both got the Arepas and were blown away by how flavorful everything was. Absolute perfection! We tried the guac, plantains and yuca fries which were all tasty. The guac was heavy on the lime with homemade chips. Everything paired perfectly with a cold bottle of Jarritos! Definitely a must try if you're nearby!!!

Rosemary H.

Yelp
The allure of Chellas is the food, the food, the food!!! Location it is literally next to the on ramp to Route 30, outdoor seating only (not ideal in the winter time), no bar to order cocktails while you wait for your food. HOWEVER...the music blaring from the speakers is lively, the smell of the food cooking has you daydreaming of the first bite into the arepa. Each time I come here, the food never makes it home; we devour it sitting in the car in their parking lot. The food coma afterwards makes it all worth it.

Carla L.

Yelp
It was an unexpected hidden gem in Lancaster PA. The arepa was STUFFED with filling and super flavorful. I ordered it to go and it sat for a while before I could eat it but don't let the picture fool you. It was delicious!! I recommend trying the Pernil Arepa and the Brussels sprouts. You won't be disappointed.

Brian B.

Yelp
This was good, smells great, looks good, Good flavor...but this is not a 5 star place. What is five star is the service, very kind people working and assisting customers. Maybe for Lancaster this is close to 5 Star, Or maybe I'm a big city boy being boogie...doubtful. Hers what you really want to know.... Would I recommend this place? YES. Didn't good taste good? YES. AND THE BIG ONE... Would I go back? Hmm...I can't say yes and I can say no, so maybe.

Jae L.

Yelp
I was incredibly curious to why this place was rated so high both locally and nationally. I gotta say; super surprised! The food is simple and delicious. Everything is just good; nothing super fancy or expensive; it's just good food. The seats are outside only (for now; heard they got themselves a building) so going on a nice day is important. They have their own parking and seating but it does get crowded. The service is fast; you just walk up and order and 5 min (esp for takeout). The lomo arepa has a lot more pulled pork inside than it looks; the OG everyone raves about Pernil Arepa was ok in my opinion. Yuca fries are a must. Warning; you'll eat 4 pieces and feel like you ate a whole thing of fries; so filling. Come through and try one of the pride and joy of Lancaster!

Zack G.

Yelp
Stationary food truck surrounded by lots of picnic tables, serving up a small variety of very high-quality arepas I opted for a steak arepa while my GF opted for a chicken. Both were packed full of high quality meat. In-fact, there was so much that I couldn't even pick mine up. This being said, the steak arepa had a lot more flavor than the chicken (which was fairly dry) The arepas came with 2 different sauces, but one sauce didn't have the most flavor and the other was extremely spicy. It took about 15 minutes for our food to be prepared, but the people were very friendly Porta-potty on sight

Jason T.

Yelp
Ate here today for lunch with my parents and sister to try this place out on a rainy and humid morning before going to Pittsburgh next. We had gotten different types of arepas to eat and share together that it tasted super good and delicious. The service there was also friendly and upbeat. We couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time when I visit Pennsylvania! :)

Jack D.

Yelp
100% Gluten Free and absolutely delicious. It's a hike. But well worth it. Even on a frigid day. Online order or at the window. Wait time less than 10 minutes. These guys hustle. Arepas a wee on the dry side. But still 5 stars. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. On a whim, got yuca fries. Expected starchy and meh. These were crunch and damn good. Gotta eat them while still hot. Don't let 'em get soggy in a to-go container. These do not reheat well. All in all, a great setup. The 100% Gluten Free is a major for me. Go. Enjoy. Come back.

Scott S.

Yelp
It would be easy to overlook Chellas Arepa Kitchen as you zip by above on Route 30 or get caught up in the shopping traffic around the Costco that sits across the street. Don't just drive by!! My wife and I were out and have been wanting to try this. There was only a small line of people and the wait beside the fire was welcome on a brisk December day.

Annika T.

Yelp
We went to Chella's Arepa Kitchen because of its phenomenal reviews and weren't disappointed! We tried the lomo saltado and the Roxanne arepa, and both dishes were fantastic. The fresh ingredients really stood out, and the friendly staff added to the positive experience. The food truck and park ambiance made it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Definitely worth the visit if you're looking for top-notch arepas!

Olivia L.

Yelp
This place is delicious!!! Family of four ordered online and picked up when we arrived to eat in the car in the rain. We don't generally like arepas in this house but their arepas were delicious. My 10 year old who complains constantly about his food scarfed down an entire plate of pernil rice and beans and was so happy. My daughter stole our chicken arepa and handed over her chicken and beloved rice and beans! Delicious sauces too! Chimichurri was so fresh and full of greens! And can't forget the Brussels sprouts. My husband doesn't like vegetables and that was his favorite thing!! Prices were reasonable, food was great!

Tony B.

Yelp
Quite the find for Lancaster county. Such a quaint outdoor eating spot with a food trailer. Constantly busy and limited parking. We got there at 1145am and there were only two spots left. Don't let that discourage you cuz these hunt Costco parking across the streets. I me split the Lomo and Pernil Arepas (steak and bbq pork) with the friend plantains and fried yucca. It was plenty of food for 3 to split. The steak was tastier than the pork in my opinion. Extremely nice service and quick too. We go out in just above 10 minutes. Will be back

Antwan J.

Yelp
Arepas should be in your belly as we speak. The atmosphere here is awesome outdoor chairs, warm ambience, even in the midst of heavy traffic from Park city right across the street. One of the owners may even be strolling around and sit down for a chat with me. Overall, five out of five experience and always a pleasure here,6 years running I think stop by and try to help these guys get another location. I recommend it.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
Our food was amazing. We weren't sure what to get and when we asked about the menu we were told what they recommend with it but of course you can get it the way you want it. The service was great. The music playing gets you in the mood to eat Peruvian food and it completes the ambiance. We got a vegetarian bowl and a steak bowl. Everything was delicious and the portions are large. The chimichurri sauce is so fresh. It is made to order so they cater to your needs. It is a must place to eat in Lancaster.

Doug B.

Yelp
The hype is legit! Chellas Arepa Kitchen truly has unique and delicious amazing foods. The 5 star rating is deserved for the taste alone. It's a food truck that is destined for a home someday! I had Chellas Chicken Chimichuri with yucca fries, street corn salad, and some guac and all of it was first rate. Ordering on the website saves standing in hot sun to wait. Parking is definitely limited. I got extra chimichurri sauce because it's that good. They do have several tables outside if you want to eat there and have a chest full of unique drinks like Jarritos, ginger ale, sparking water, and a host of others. My suggestion is to try it, you'll like it!

Caitlin L.

Yelp
My bf and I were really excited to come to Chellas because the reviews are really good; however, we both agreed that this place was just not for us. Upon entry, I was pleasantly surprised to find clean and plentiful outdoor eating with a good amount of people waiting in line. We ordered the Lomo Arepa and La Roxanne Arepa, and a Senorial drink (which we loved!). My bf told the cashier his name and even spelled it out for her. The cashier called out the name "Emily" twice, without anyone walking up to pick up their order, so my bf went up pick up the order and it turns out she got his name complete wrong... Off to an odd start, but it's fine. Our orders were plentifully stuffed, which I really appreciate, but it's not visually appealing, and it was messy to eat. The sauces were very necessary since we both found the arepa fillings to be lacking in flavor and depth. We both preferred La Roxanne since the avocado offered a nice texture to the dish. Since my bf and I often ate Latin cuisine in Queens, NY we expected the arepas to be comparable in taste, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case as our taste buds were not wow'd. It is Lancaster after all, and Lancaster isn't particularly know for its bustling culinary scene. This was a miss for us, but I do understand why others may enjoy this place.

Louis G.

Yelp
While visiting our daughter and husband in PA, dinner sights were set on Chella's South American cuisine. The recommendation was a huge success as we ordered rice bowls and Yuca Fries. An immediate hit the dinners were awesome and bountiful. Huge portions and quality food. Jarrito's Sodas to seal the deal. Its location is across from the Costco in Lancaster PA. Stop in for a real traditional South American meal!

Tami W.

Yelp
So much flavor! The steak was so tender and seasoned absolutely perfect. We also had the yucca fries! Delish.

Michael H.

Yelp
Ok bad news. This place was on my radar hard today and I really wanted to try it buttttttttttt it was raining and I didn't want to sit in the truck and make a mess of my shirt. I did not realize it was a food trailer till we pulled up. Sounds good and I wanted to give it a whirl as I love some Peruvian food and small business but I whimped out and went for a sit down place. Sorry Yelp world. Maybe next trip if the weather is better. They weee open and serving those who were hardy folks than us. I gave them five stars just from the cool looks and the other reviews that had built this place up so.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Well, I've been here twice in one week on our family vacation, and all I can say is that I absolutely love Chellas. I got the pernil arepa both times, but was able to sample my wife's food as well. Literally everything was amazing from the entrees to sides and even the sauces! It is such a comfortable place to eat too. The outdoor seating option would be rough in bad weather, but on a summer day...wow, perfect. Throw in the thoughtful and warm greeting when you order and it's just a joyous experience. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Jackie A.

Yelp
Aw man, was this good and inexpensive. Parking lot was small. There were picnic tables and small, fire pit area (to keep warm). Tender, marinated chunks of steak, encased in a crunchy corn outer shell, but soft inside - holey moley! A tomato slice, avocado and loads of ridiculously, softly shredded cheese on top - melting within the meat (drooling, as I type). Served alongside, were chimichurri (pungent and addicting) and a mildly spiced green sauce.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Finally gave this place another shot about 6 months ago and finally got why everyone likes it so much. Yuca Fries were crispier (although when taking it to go they get mushier). The steak is my go to as it pops with flavor. The other meats are decent but not close to the steak. Staff is friendly but parking is a disaster

Renata L.

Yelp
I ordered the pernil arepa and the yucca fries, both are supper yummy, the chimichurri sauce is delicious, I will be back.

Kendra S.

Yelp
We arrived at noon on a Tuesday and they always had cars coming in and out because they do a solid business. Why? Because the food is good and prepared quickly. In less than 10 minutes our food was ready. Because it was a 40 degree day we ate in our car, but we could still hear then call our name when the order was ready. They take credit cards.

Jocelyn B.

Yelp
Find Me GF app does it again!! Wow delicious Venezuelan arepas crunchy outer shell and warm moist savory inside. Pops got the chicken chimichurri arepa and I got the pernil arepa and we shared Yuca fries. Wow just wow, delicious is an understatement. A must go if you're in the area - best of all everything is 100% gluten free!!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Good food, but not as good as Top 100 on Yelp in my opinion. It's a food truck with its own parking lot and outside benches/tables to eat on. There's also music playing which adds to the ambience. Food is served quickly, we waited about 10 minutes. The meat (steak) is very juicy and made the arepa moist. I preferred the steak rice bowl, but the arepas had more vegetables whereas the rice bowl only had black beans. The chimichurri that came with it was deliciousss!!

Kassandra O.

Yelp
I love Chellas. The arepas are chunky and tasty. The food is served hot and the flavors in the food and the sauces are so. good. I love the vibes in the outdoor seating area. They've done a great job of making it welcoming, and customer friendly. Umbrella for shade from the sun, amplifier to hear your name when it's called, lots of Palma plants for the breeze. Great music and twinkle lights for sunset. It's a treasure here in Lancaster.

Nina B.

Yelp
Great spot for a super filling and flavorful meal. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I love the gluten free declarations on the menu. They get the food out quickly but it's fun to people watch while you wait lol. When I saw the big group of construction workers coming here to eat, I KNEW it was legit. I got the chimichurri chicken arepa and my husband got the lomo arepa. We also got a side of Maduras because we are obsessed with them lol.

Robert H.

Yelp
Really messy, we threw out the yucca fries, but the arepas were very yummy! I didn't care for the sauces either.

Michelle P.

Yelp
After so many years coming to PA and always commenting that we have to try this place, we finally did! Worth it! Sorry no pics because, well, I'm a dig-in kind of girl! We ordered the Lomo Arepa and the Pernil Arepa. The steak in the Lomo Arepa was like butter and seasoned to perfection! The pernil Arepa contained all my favorite things (Pernil, Rice and Beans, cheese and sweet plaintains). Happiness in a pouch! You won't regret stopping by here. Enjoy!

Wilson L.

Yelp
The food is freaking good. I ordered the pork shoulder. Wife got the chicken yuca fries and street corn absolutely phenomenal service was friendly and we're sitting outside. It's all outdoor seating so beautiful.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Chellas has some of the most flavorful food around. It's one of my favorite places to stop for a delicious meal. I've been dozens of times and can't get enough of their food. They made top 3 for my pregnancy cravings. Their arepas are authentic, yucca fries are tasty, and their homemade sauces are absolutely incredible. The staff and the owner are incredible friendly. Despite being a food truck, their atmosphere outside is SO inviting and relaxing. My only complaint is that they don't have a location in lititz. But it's well worth the 20 min drive

Rachel F.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly and fast service, I cannot wait to come back here. I also love the little oasis they created in this location. This is my first experience with Peruvian food, and I'm hooked. I also have celiac disease and have the gluten-free, so this made my overnight trip to Lancaster stress-free.

Micah C.

Yelp
Delicious arepas in an unexpected location! My husband and I stopped by here on a day trip to Lancaster. We shared some yucca fries and a pernil arepa. Both were really good! The yucca fries were crispy and good. The arepa, which came with honey bbq roasted pulled pork, was very flavorful although it was on the heavier side. I loved the Chimichurri sauce it came with because it really brightened up the flavors. It was also a good size, so if you're not too hungry, you can def share with another person. We were able to grab seating pretty easily on a Saturday afternoon. It is outdoors but they have some umbrellas that give shade. The service is also quick and friendly. Parking is pretty limited.

Katie S.

Yelp
What a gem!! Incredible food, fresh and flavorful. Seating area is outside but it's set up so cute. Wonderful service, quick. I can't wait to go back.

Carin K.

Yelp
Our first time ordering and we were not disappointed! The serving sizes were substantial and everything we ordered was bursting with flavor. We had the Vegetables Saltado Bowl, the Grilled Chicken Bowl and the Pernil Arepa and the hot sauce and all were delicious. Everyone was very friendly and it was a charming venue with lots of tables covered with umbrellas. Even though we ordered take out, we may eat there at our next visit just to enjoy the ambiance .

rene r.

Yelp
To set appropriate expectations, it's a food truck, along the frontage road, across from Costco. There's no restaurant. There's no service. It's a food truck. There's an outhouse in the parking lot. You order at the window; food is ready in about 10 minutes. There are outside tables that can be used when the weather is nice, otherwise you lap it in your car. Of course it was raining when we visited so we ate in the car. That being said, the food was delicious. It's 100% Gluten Free. We ordered a side of yucca fries, a pork bowl, and a Pernil Arepa. The sauces were all delicious too! The Pernil Arepa is pretty messy; too messy for a lap in the car.

Kurt I.

Yelp
What an incredible hidden gem and I feel like I've been missing out for so long. What you won't get: ambiance. It's in a Lowes parking lot and the music is ungodly loud to drown out the highway traffic. What you will get: incredibly delicious and flavorful food made to order. Vegan suggestion: black bean and plantain arepas with a side of Brussels sprouts (note: has honey). Then prepare for a flavor punch in the mouth. Yum!!

Neil M.

Yelp
I am Celiac and Lactose Intolerant and their menu gives me lots of options. Excellent food and service!

Diana B.

Yelp
Great music. Friendly employees and great food! We need one closer to Hershey!! Yucca fries are the best. You get both, sauces!

Bessie T.

Yelp
This is a really good food truck with a cute outdoor eating area! The food is also just as good if you decide to bring it home as takeout. The staff are also super friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. I tried the lomo arepa, which was so tasty! The steak was tender and incredibly flavorful. The other ingredients and the arepa itself created a great combination of flavors and textures. The yuca fries are also good with the cilantro aioli. I highly recommend checking this food truck out! I wish I lived closer to be able to try more of the menu items.
