Chemist Cocktail Bar

First time visiting. Came with a friend for the drinks and the food menu that we saw online; we visited on a Wednesday night around 9 PM. As soon as you enter, the music is super electric and fun and vibrate, which I loved! You have to sit yourself and go up to the bar area to order your food.We were very disappointed to find out that their kitchen closes at 8 PM. Thus, we had to get our drinks and then go find a different spot to eat. My friend was super heartbroken about this and very disappointed about this as well. I think that this bar has potential but they need to do better by staying open past 8 PM. I recommend and I look forward to visiting again.

I was there for Valentine’s Day and wow that was something you never see in Boston Best drinks and best food but most importantly the staff was so good. Manager was so friendly and helpful with tables. 100 for sure

A very nice craft cocktail bar a short walk from the waterfront, we stopped in for a snack and beverage. They take the art of cocktails very seriously, and the results are worth a visit. I plan on re-creating the Vesper 75 at home. The food menu is a cut above your average bar food, interesting and well executed.

I was looking forward to getting a cocktail and bite to eat here... advertised as a cocktail bar I was expecting at least a host/hostess to be within 5 ft of the entry. It's 100% a dumpy old bar they attempted to covert into a half ass cocktail bar. Oh! And the kitchen closes at 8pm. On a Friday :) ... and the menu cheapens the entire atmosphere. Highly recommend NOT MAKING your way to this place.

Super cute bar in the downtown area with a large menu of cocktails, you can get any cocktail you want to try. Reasonable prices and good food specials during happy hour. Staff was super nice. Furniture here is a bit awkward - table height and chair height don't always go well but it was a fun night and always would come back for the drinks.

Chemist is one of the most laid-back cocktail bars I’ve ever visited. The space is open and comfortable, with plenty of seating, making it easy to relax. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. Their cocktail menu is a real standout—presented as a little book that gives the bar a unique vibe. Each drink is accompanied by a detailed description and a picture, so you know exactly what you’re getting. We tried the Old Tom’s Long Drink and the Bitter Yolanda, both of which were fantastic choices. In addition to the creative cocktails, they offer some quick bites like sandwiches, burgers, and nachos. I went for the Chemist Quesadilla, and it did not disappoint! Plus, they accept credit cards, which is always convenient. All in all, Chemist is a great spot for delicious drinks and a relaxed night out.

Awesome place! Everyone is super nice and the atmosphere is great :) Also I had a small accident and Erin went above and beyond to help me. She was really awesome!

To keep it short I want to become a DJ now 😂. Every DJ that played was authentic and original. First time experiencing dub, house, etc. with a DJ I'm working with. Sure place to check out. Can't wait to go back soon.

Super cute space. I love how the space was laid out. I came here at night when there was a DJ and had the best time. I will have to come at another time to check out the bar vibes!

drinks YES! food MEH. had the vesper 75, which was high on the gin and flavor. all thumbs up. had the mozzarella sticks, which were mostly tasteless but did boast excellent crisp factor. not enough, unfortunately, to negate the lack of flavorless cheese. would return singularly to keep trying the drinks!

Service was wonderful and I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately wasn't wowed. I had the Scarlet Horizon to drink, and it was fine but I felt like it was missing a tang. The fig pizza was also not bad, but the giant pieces of prosciutto came off in one bite, and the whole thing was just a little too sweet for me. But the vibes were good!

Wow, this Cocktail Bar is one of a kind! My colleague and I held a work happy hour event here in October and the entire staff did such a great job of catering to our needs and ensuring we always had a tasty drink in our hand! :) Upon stepping foot inside of this place, you can feel the unique vibe - it's just really fun and yet has a quirky chemist-like feel to it with the tile around the bar area and the decor arranged inside. Although it's not an incredibly large space it is set up really cool with pockets of seating throughout. There's also even a DJ booth in the corner of this place which they have live DJ music selection nights!! The main thing that blew me away with the Chemist Cocktail Bar was the "All Smoke, No Fire" Smoke-Infused Bourbon. Holy smokes was that one smooth drink!! I have yet to find a bar that can make a drink like that near me. So whenever I visit Boston next you can be sure to find me at this bar with one of those smoke-infused bourbons - yum!!

Stopped in for dinner the other night. Had a carlsberg beer at the bar, got some soft pretzels to start which came with cheese and mustard and for the main dish got the chicken skewers with rice and veggies. It was delicious. Really cool vibe as well

When we first walked in, they had great music and a very fun atmosphere. We wanted to come here for drinks and dinner but kitchen closed at 8 and we came at 8. I got the silent spritz and it was delicious. It was pretty sweet but that's how I like my drinks. I tried the Paloma-loma and it was very strong but stilled tasted good. Overall a good place for a girls night out

This place feels like a dive bar meet cocktail pace. There was a dj in the back and before a certain time, the bartender will come by and take your order. I got the improbably flip which was a bit too strong for me and not exactly to my liking. However, I would come back to try the other drinks!

Ambiance is a mix between sports bar and cocktail lounge. Food was pretty good. I got the fish and chips and It only came with one piece of fish. I ordered chimichurri sauce (which was listed with another dish) and they gave me it complementary which was nice. The server was prompt and nice. Prices were standard for the area.

Really good bar for drinks, had a live dj playing some good beats. Drinks were good not watered down

Forced out at 2:08 am when I had just ordered another drink. Not at all appreciated. Do not recommend.

The Chemist is Boston's best hidden gem! It's quickly become my crew's go to place. Right by South Station in FiDi, so super easy to hit up after work (or for your lunch break). Well priced, strong drinks and mouthwatering food. Pro tip - the truffle fry + espresso martini combo is elite! The best part though is the immaculate energy with live DJs most nights. The music matches the lounge atmosphere and after a few drinks you might find yourself on the dance floor with friends (speaking from experience). The Chemist is easily an up and coming hot spot. Grab your squad and check it out before it gets too crazy popular. See you there!

New bar in FiDi! Beautifully decorated with comfortable seating. Love all the couches to make it comfortable to talk to people. Staff was super helpful walking through the menu and checking up on us. Drinks were nice and well priced for the area! Definitely a great after work spot. Looking forward to coming back and trying more cocktails and some food- maybe even staying for the DJ

French fries were crispy! Service was great. The bartender who has the Irish name for Patrick was wonderful. He made an amazing lemon drop!

The bartender was not friendly at all.. the guy with glasses I'm not sure his name. It was our first time here and we asked about drinks and he answered as if we should know the answer.. rolled his eyes and said nope. I said "sir this is our first time here we are just trying to know what we want to order". Mind you it wasn't busy at all. We got fries and mozzarella sticks. Def frozen food, it was not good at all. With the not so friendly vibes and the mediocre (at best) food I don't think I'll be back. :( It's sad because when I walked in I thought the atmosphere was so cute and I was so excited to give this place a try.

Great craft cocktail place! We got there right as they opened, so we were the only ones there. Sevice was great, the drinks were amazing. I ordered the chemist, and it was so delicious. Even the espresso martini, which is a cocktail on draft, was absolutely delicious.definitely worth the experience. We also noticed that they do a movie night every week, which I think is just an amazing idea.

This place is bizarre-- it's like too many people tried to assemble it and some wanted it to be an upscale cocktail bar, some wanted a sports bar and some were thinking of a dive scene. I got the scarlet horizon cocktail and it tastes like it was made at a crappy college bar, just poorly dressed up alcohol, no depth to the cocktails, no vibe, terrible remixes of pop music. Fine if you want a drink and don't care about the ambience or what it tastes like I guess...

Great vibe and very relaxing setting. Nice place to sneak away during the everyday Boston lifestyle. Drinks were fantastic! Nice to find a real craft cocktail bar! It's definitely my favorite place for craft cocktails in Boston by far. You can tell there was thought put into every drink.

Felt like we were just bugging them to be there. Also the oysters weren't good and other dishes mid. But the interior is cute

Incredibly slow service. We were far a while, the only patrons. The couple that came in later were served first. We finally got served food about 35 min after we ordered. Food when it did arrive was good, but way too much in quantity

The Chemist is my go to bar!! The service is always amazing and the bartenders are so personable. The food is always consistent and delicious. My favorite is the Good Chemistry! Cocktails are great and I feel like it's the only bar in Boston that has lime high noons. After work hours it has a night club vibe and the dj is always great. If you're looking for a nice lunch or a great night out The Chemist is the place to be.

Cool vibe and great prices! The chairs were comfy, but the tables were awkwardly low, especially when eating. Ordered the shrimp and beef skewers, reading tea leaves cocktail, and the yes chef cocktail. The shrimp was great! The beef, however, was too dry and chewy. The Yes Chef was sweeter than expected. The tea leaves tasted like cheap matcha. I would stick to the classic cocktails on their menu.

A friend and I stumbled across the Chemist today while down town. We stopped in for a little cocktail and snack to shake off the damp weather. In a sea of brutalist architecture, this is a stylish oasis. I might describe the decor as dark academia or midnight hygge. Super cool. We sat at a high top but I wish I spotted the small table flanked by two peacock chairs first! Our server was very attentive and mixed up our cocktails very quickly. We had the yes, chef (gin based, basil, cucumber and juniper notes) and the fizzy lift. Very refreshing. We kept it basic for snacks, but went for truffle fries (fresh shaved parm was a great touch) and a few meat skewers (grilled and seasoned perfectly). Highly recommend you check this place out for delicious cocktails and bites!

The food and drinks were unique. Definitely a place to favor on the weeknights after work. Upscale and creative vibe with a kind staff!
