I visited the Giant Panda Research Base in Chengdu on a weekend morning around 7:30 am. While it was already quite crowded by that time, I would recommend purchasing tickets online beforehand to avoid the hassle and make your entry smoother. Unfortunately, the large crowds made it hard to enjoy the experience fully, and at times, it was difficult to get a clear view of the pandas.
Despite the vast area dedicated to the pandas, I was surprised to find that there weren't many pandas on display. Some of the enclosures, including the indoor ones, were empty, which was a bit disappointing. There are gift shops and drink stalls scattered throughout the park, so if you're looking for souvenirs or refreshments, they're available.
Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I don’t think I would return. The ticket cost was about 50 yuan, which is reasonable for what you get, but I expected more pandas for such a large space. It's a good spot to visit once, but maybe not more than that.
