This place is super impressive and super clean. Go on off season when it's not so crowded. Also know that during the summer it would be hot and the pandas will be in the indoor closures. I suggest going during the cooler season because you can see the pandas in the outdoor in the Villa areas of the park. Do know that the DD taxi drop off location is a little far from the entrance and about a 10-minute walk up a small hill. The bathroom by this location is extremely clean. That was. I was so pleasantly surprised. There's plenty of trash bins and you can get a really good sense that people really care about working there and taking care of the pandas. I highly recommend going here and making it the number one spot for your trip to tend to

We only saw a small part of the big 25Hectare site as our hosts (the city of Chengdu as part of the UNESCO Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage) treated us to this wonderful morning visit there. However, we did see several panda, mostly juvenile and the museum and loved both. We did not go through the main entrance so I cant comment on that but we did have a English speaking guide. If I ever go back to Chengdu (maybe) I'd love to spend a whole day there as they also have Red Panda which I love:-) This was in June so not sure if that is considered shoulder season. We were told that the wait at the most famous panda He Hua was 3 hours on the day we were there, so I guess it can get very busy there.

Very very large park with multiple pandas residing here. The park is huge hence be prepared to walk. Not all pandas are viewable given the weather condition. Some will be indoors within air conditioned enclosures and not available for viewing during hot days. Managed to see 1 who was chilling in running water. There is also a red panda which is a smaller species. Retails sales is brisks. We got some within the park and bought more outside at the stall. The latter price is a lot cheaper hence withstand the urge until you have exited the park.

Good place to see pandas near Chengdu city. I have the feeling that they are caring well of the pandas and the animals have a lot of natural living space. You definitely should come very early (best at opening 7.30am). The pandas only like to stay outside when it's still cool. You can buy tickets locally but you need to bring your passport (or at least a picture of your passport). I recommend to enter from the south gate, because it is close to the outdoor panda areas which you want to reach fast when arriving in the morning. While walking later to the north/west you will pass the indoor areas.

Once you get past the gates and the crowds it a beautiful open space with Panda enclosers throughout. If walking the park come perpeared for a few hill climbs, but the scenery makes it all worth it. The view from the Bamboo tower is amazing, again prepear for a lot of stairs. Overall well worth a visit.

⸻ A visit to this center is a must when in Chengdu. The giant pandas are absolutely adorable and a joy to watch. The facility is home to over 200 pandas, housed in spacious open enclosures that closely mimic their natural habitat. We visited on a particularly hot day, and since the center is quite large and requires a lot of walking, it’s best to wear comfortable shoes, bring an umbrella, and carry plenty of water. It’s a wonderful experience, especially for animal lovers and families.

I visited the Giant Panda Research Base in Chengdu on a weekend morning around 7:30 am. While it was already quite crowded by that time, I would recommend purchasing tickets online beforehand to avoid the hassle and make your entry smoother. Unfortunately, the large crowds made it hard to enjoy the experience fully, and at times, it was difficult to get a clear view of the pandas. Despite the vast area dedicated to the pandas, I was surprised to find that there weren't many pandas on display. Some of the enclosures, including the indoor ones, were empty, which was a bit disappointing. There are gift shops and drink stalls scattered throughout the park, so if you're looking for souvenirs or refreshments, they're available. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I don’t think I would return. The ticket cost was about 50 yuan, which is reasonable for what you get, but I expected more pandas for such a large space. It's a good spot to visit once, but maybe not more than that.

I think it’s a good place to explore and it’s nicely made and informative but don’t bother to go during the summer months if it’s hot! All giant pandas will be indoors which makes the whole experience like a zoo visit with hundreds of people trying to get a nice photo/video through the glas wall. Only red pandas would be outdoors. If you in Chengdu and temperatures are above 26 degrees Celsius, skip the trip.
