The Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu, China is one of the most heartwarming and unique places I’ve ever visited. It’s not just a zoo — it’s a research and conservation center where you can see giant pandas being cared for, bred, and protected in a natural, peaceful environment. The moment you enter, the atmosphere feels calm and green, surrounded by bamboo forests and clean walking paths. The pandas are the real stars here — you can see them eating bamboo, climbing trees, and even rolling around lazily. Watching baby pandas playing together is the most adorable sight imaginable!

amazing experience. We got to see the pandas and their babies. Unfortunately only for a small amount of time since it got hot pretty soon and pandas don't like hot temperatures. So I recommend you going there when the weather is a bit cooler. Prepare to go early in the morning. Pandas will be out for some time before they go to sleep. We arrived around 10:30 am and most of the pandas were already sleepy. It was also interesting to see the red pandas.

This place is super impressive and super clean. Go on off season when it's not so crowded. Also know that during the summer it would be hot and the pandas will be in the indoor closures. I suggest going during the cooler season because you can see the pandas in the outdoor in the Villa areas of the park. Do know that the DD taxi drop off location is a little far from the entrance and about a 10-minute walk up a small hill. The bathroom by this location is extremely clean. That was. I was so pleasantly surprised. There's plenty of trash bins and you can get a really good sense that people really care about working there and taking care of the pandas. I highly recommend going here and making it the number one spot for your trip to tend to

We only saw a small part of the big 25Hectare site as our hosts (the city of Chengdu as part of the UNESCO Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage) treated us to this wonderful morning visit there. However, we did see several panda, mostly juvenile and the museum and loved both. We did not go through the main entrance so I cant comment on that but we did have a English speaking guide. If I ever go back to Chengdu (maybe) I'd love to spend a whole day there as they also have Red Panda which I love:-) This was in June so not sure if that is considered shoulder season. We were told that the wait at the most famous panda He Hua was 3 hours on the day we were there, so I guess it can get very busy there.

A wet and rainy day...the last few days were scorching hot hovering 35 to 37 Deg C and it was 24 deg C when we visited. Windy, cold and Panda Watching was fun and yet cold. Beautiful place. Serene in certain areas, lovely plants and beautiful bamboo everywhere. The whole place was clean, efficient staff, and very admirable for the work that they put up over the years. Do book tickets online. We have problems booking the tickets online and our service apartment staff used her handphone to do the booking .

Very very large park with multiple pandas residing here. The park is huge hence be prepared to walk. Not all pandas are viewable given the weather condition. Some will be indoors within air conditioned enclosures and not available for viewing during hot days. Managed to see 1 who was chilling in running water. There is also a red panda which is a smaller species. Retails sales is brisks. We got some within the park and bought more outside at the stall. The latter price is a lot cheaper hence withstand the urge until you have exited the park.

I visited the Chengdu Panda Base and it was absolutely wonderful! 🐼 The highlight of my trip was seeing Huahua, the star panda, happily munching on bamboo. 🌿 Such an unforgettable experience — the pandas are so adorable and well cared for. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Chengdu!

Google
Such an amazing place to see the Giant pandas and the red pandas. Super cute. Very easy to get to around 30mins from the city centre by Didi which is may I just say super cheap to use in China. I would arrive early and book your tickets ahead of the day just not to have to do it in the park. I would also suggest to pay for the all day shuttle service within the park trust me it’s way too long to walk to all the locations.
