Chennai Lighthouse

A quite place away from the hustle and bustle of the main Marina Beach. This spot is the south end side of the Marina Beach and has comparatively low noise and less people/visitors. Free and easy parking spot, easy access to washrooms and a good place to enjoy some soothing sea side vibes.

Chennai Lighthouse stands tall on Marina Beach, offering stunning coastal views. It’s one of the few lighthouses in India open to the public with an elevator. The panoramic view of the city, sea, and beach from the top is truly memorable. Evenings are the best time to visit, with sea breeze and sunset colours all around. The small museum inside traces the history of lighthouses and maritime Chennai. A calm, breezy spot perfect for photography, relaxation, and enjoying the Marina vibe.

Located near Marina Beach, Chennai. Nearby vast beach is very lovely. When we visited the place it was a full moon day. The reflection of full moon from the sea tide was mesmerizing.

It's an amazing idea to build a lighthouse at Marina beach. The view is amazing for the top floor. But there are a lot of points of improvement. There is only one lift. It is old and slow. A 10 floor building should have a modern and faster lift. The space on the top is very narrow. They can accommodate only 20 people max at one time. They give only 10 minutes to enjoy the views. I had several doubts. Why are they not using other floors to allow people to enjoy the view. If they can only use the top floor, then they should have built it bigger to accommodate more people. The idea of a lighthouse is good but execution is very poor. It feels better to have something than have nothing.

The Chennai Lighthouse is a great place to visit, especially for those who enjoy scenic views. The entry fee is quite reasonable—just ₹20 for Indian adults. However, in my opinion, the viewing time at the top is limited to only 5–10 minutes, which feels too short. It would be much better if visitors were allowed more time to enjoy the panoramic view from the top.

Yesterday I visited marina beach and light house is on the bank of sea. Such a big and beautiful light house of chennai is in marina beach and v house area. All perfect with area cleanliness and routine. Many buses available to this point. Many private car auto available and you can go any time here. Yes little traffic on this route. This place is crowdy on Saturday Sunday evening and morning.

The view is really stunning. If you are a beach person then you must go check it out, it was an experience all together. But they'll only let you stay there for 10 mins max so take all the feels you can before you are told to exit.

Heyy it wa really awesome place and the view is amazing but only the thing is there are very minute rods like windows in the place so can't see completely the beauty of Chennai it literally hiding the view and there is no gpay is available
