"Located below street level, the public space Cheonggyecheon offers an easy escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seoul . The area is part of a massive urban renewal project in which an old elevated highway was cleared to reveal the stream below. To find the entrance, look for Claes Oldenburg’s sculpture Spring Tower , which resembles a giant unicorn horn, and from there you can enjoy a serene 3.6-mile walk that meanders past art installations, graceful fountains, and green rest areas. Duck out at any point on one of the 22 overhead bridges that cross the stream, or walk to the end of the trail and visit the free Cheonggyecheon Museum to learn more about the area."

A must visit location in Seoul especially on a good weather day. Basically a nice walking park in the middle of the city next to a stream which makes you feel transplanted from busy city life. On weekends there are plenty of street performances as well.

During the day is a chill place but turns so romantic and relax at night! You can find some people singing, also able to bring the food and drinks to sit and enjoy the vibes along the side.

Very beautiful and long walking street. A lot of trees, nice water stream you can sit at. There are many shops, cafes nearby and a food market.

Love this long river, the environment will made you feel you're hiking, listening the rhythm of rive, the sound of birds and enjoy the breeze air. It's amazing, as the river located at the middle of Seoul central, a most commercial area.

Although it's been a long time, the memories of walking along Cheonggyecheon with a friend, accompanied by a senior from DAU Busan was impressive. The water is very clean and there are several small rapids, with fish swimming in them. Indeed, we did not walk 11 KM, only half of it, and then visited several interesting objects such as Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin, Gwanghwamun Square and others. What an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful place to visit right in the middle of the city. I went to the lantern festival happening every november and there were so many people! Tip: If you plan on going to the lantern festival and walk just on one side of the stream do not so it from gwanghwamun side. I did that and regretted it. I think the other end is close to euljiro-3 and it would be better to start there then walk to gwanghwamun as most of the lanterns faced that side. I just saw the lanterns from behind as I was tired to walk the other side of the stream to see the front.
