Came here after hearing rave reviews but was a little underwhelmed! Had the tamarind duck which was nice but nothing overly special and a little tough. Ordered the food and it came out within 5 minutes which made me think it wasn’t made fresh to order and made the experience feel a little rushed.

Cher Thai is an absolute gem! Every dish is packed with the most vibrant and authentic flavors—it’s a true culinary delight every single time. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even more special. My wife and I happily travel across London just to eat here, and it’s always worth the trip. If you’re a fan of Thai food done to perfection, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Somtom papaya salad was the epic for my lunch, so refreshing and delicious. I wished my dining experience was great as much, Hmm.. Table service here needs to be improved, it was slow and not smart. My drink wasn’t even given prior to my meal.. It was too milky of my red king prawn curry which is my favorite thai food. also difficult to eat it with skin on.. (no knife given) Chicken satay dipping sauce was a bit bland,, no flavour, it need more red curry paste required. Dim sum on menu seems to be store bought. Not the best but not the worst Thai foods in London.

Managed to get a table outside at the last minute. Very popular place and I can see why. The food was well presented, seasoned properly and tasty. Service was quick and efficient. A couple of minor issues. I’d asked for the summer rolls to share as a starter but didn’t give us any side plates. The second issue is that our mains arrived shortly after the starter. Given we were sat outside at a small table for two, there wasn’t enough space for everything. The waiter would have left things as is, if we didn’t ask him to take the side plates away. The sensible thing would have been to let us finish our starter before bringing the mains out, which they didn’t seem too bothered about.

A cozy spot in London with delicious Thai food. I ordered the green curry, and it didn't disappoint. The only drawback for me was the drink, as it was too sweet.

(In 2022) This is my top pick Thai restaurant among all of them. I love the food so muchhhhh💓 my favourite dish is crab meat and egg fried rice. Ingredients are rich and tasty, I can’t find any other Thai restaurant better than this one in London. Everything is great except the location is slightly inconvenient. Overall highly recommend to this place. Please do come visit here. (In 2024) I visited here again after a year, the quality of food is constantly improving. I ordered the same dish (crab meat fried rice), it is still amazingly delicious😭💓. I can’t find any Thai restaurant better than here. Also, the price is very decent, £23/pp can fill my tummy nice and full.

I’m not an expert in Thai cuisine, but most of my best friends are very fond of it, therefore I have been in a lot of Thai places in London and in Uk. I saw this passing by a part of Clapham where I do not normally go often, but never tried it until yesterday, when a friend of mine mentioned that it was excellent. As we were all in the mind for a Thai dinner, we went. The place only takes reservations on the phone, so I recommend booking as it is busy . They told us that we could dine at 20.30 so I put my name down and went to the pub across the street for a few drinks. At 20.12 they kindly called us, and we were seated immediately. Considering how busy they were, this was a very nice gesture, as in many busy places they say they will call you, but never do. I ordered the papaya salad and the river prawn glass noodles, both excellent. My friends ordered some prawn crackers, fragrant, crunchy, fishy, amazingly addictive, and a chicken green curry plus another papaya salad and a Pad Thai. The papaya salad was fresh, spicy but subtle, very flavourful and it had so much depth and complexity, I was mesmerised by it. Possibly the best papaya salad I have ever tasted . The river prawn glass noodles were incredible too, and, according to my friends, their pad Thai and the green curry with chicken were fantastic too. We had some Singha beer pints to accompany the food, the perfect match for what we ordered. I’m glad we discovered this gem of a place ! The prices are honest, and for the high quality of what we had, £38 per person is very cheap if you consider the extremely high quality of what we had . I highly recommend it, and can’t wait to go back.
