The people who work here are super kind and enjoyable to chat with, the coffee is yummy and the patio is adorable. Great wine selection too; if you like pet nats and orange wines, this is your spot!

Very cool little breakfast/snack/small liquor store hangout on Cherry and Pickwick near campus. We went in this last Sat morning and only one girl working but she was knocking it out! Good coffee and bagel. We walked over and found a table outside. Lots of folks walking up from surrounding neighborhood with their pets. Friendly place!

Google
Cutest like nook style place. The inside is plastered with very affordable bottles of wine and liquor . They offer a small list of tasty bites. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. They have outdoor seating, perfect place for a date night.

Google
Excellent place to grab a comfort food-filled lunch. I was extremely impressed with their twist on tomato soup. They add orange, herbs and cream that makes this one stand out among the rest. The classic grilled cheese (with local bacon) was also delightful. Every other bite included a strong herb I couldn't quite put my finger one. Highly recommend this unique place with a variety of grub.

I absolutely love this cute little café! The atmosphere and location make me feel like I'm the main character in a feel-good love novel. The amazing people who work there too are so kind and helpful! I also absolutely LOVE the gluten free bread they use, and their cherry chocolate latte? Don't even get me started on how one of those makes my day. Highly recommend this place to all who will listen ❤️

Went out with my wife for a quick lunch. Did not expect to eat a sandwich so delicious. Good quality food and service. Defiantly recommend the cold cuts and brie sandwich.

Great corner gathering place for lattes and avocado toast. Friendly staff and lattes are excellent. Can't wait for it to warm up and hang outside!

Yelp
Ambiance was fantastic. Love the outdoor seating. The orange and tomato soup *would* have been good, but I think someone used a little too much sea salt and the aftertaste tasted like the ocean. The cold cut (Italian) sandwich was good. The setting and presentation was beautiful, but it was expensive ($18.50 for hypertension soup and a sandwich.) And oh my god I still can't get the salt out of my mouth.

Yelp
I really enjoy Cherry Picker. They have incredible food & I love to grab a coffee for my neighborhood walks in Rountree. My friends & I come often, but I will not anymore because of a comment a worker made. She said "I really like this place, but I can't stand the people who come here." Unprofessional, distasteful & hateful.

Yelp
I would get it 4 stars for their coffee and 5 stars for there ambiance. Such a cute little shops. I didn't try anything other then there coffee but the sandwiches look fantastic. Service is great.

Yelp
Fairly young people running the place who have no interest in you unless you are an acquaintance or a friend. If you're over 30, forget it! I tried to order drinks, turned around to ask my husband a question at the table, and the girl at the cash register had moved onto her friend already! I came back later to place our order, food and drinks. We were disappointed in the fact that our drinks were just set on the counter, and we weren't even told they were there to come and get. When we've been there before, they were brought to the table. We tried to ask for a couple of napkins, but the girl was so busy talking to a friend we couldn't get her attention. There's more, but I'd digress. It just isn't the same quaint great neighborhood place it was or could be. Rude service never helps anywhere.

Yelp
How often do you have to frequent an establishment to be called a regular? As often as I come to Cherry Picker for chill late night drinks, dinner after work, or some sweet summer patio hangs fueled by rosès that no one else in town has, I had never come for breakfast. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I knew it was going to be good. I ordered the biscuits and mushroom gravy add bacon. This dish had an insane amount of flavor, mainly from the umami bomb that was the mushroom gravy. It carried the distinct earthiness that only mushrooms can provide, but at the same time displayed a great balance of smokey spice with just a whisper of sweetness. The biscuit itself was baked as one would expect, having a slight crust on the top and bottom with a flakey yet pillowy center. The bacon in this dish was optional and I must say, as much as I love bacon, it did not really add anything extra to the dish. The biscuits and gravy stand on their own without needing any additions. There is no doubt I will be adding weekend breakfast in my rotation of regular visits to Cherry Picker.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I will be removing Cherry Picker Package X Fare from my list of favorite places. Not because of the food or beverages, because of the rude service. A friend and I stopped by the other night 1hr before closing. It was empty, only the employees were inside. We ordered drinks and were possibly going to order food. After receiving our drinks, we asked if we could have a seat. The young blonde server informed us there wasn't any indoor seating after we had already been served. It was wet and freezing outside so I asked if they could start the fire. He said yes only to say no immediately after a death glare from a woman with long dark hair who I am assuming is the manager. It was very awkward for us and I could tell it was also awkward for the server. She was right in front of us making it clear with her unpleasant facial gestures that our comfort was of no concern to her. Adding to the awkwardness of the situation our drinks were dumped from glass into a cheap plastic cups as we were ushered outside. There wasn't one dry seat outside and it was FREEZING! As we sat outside watching the employees unmasked in the warm building we finally had enough. We were so cold we sat in our car to finish our drinks. Definitely not the experience we were expecting! I feel we should've been told about the seating situation before we purchased our drinks. That woman absolutely ruined this place for us! Her negative attitude, her absolute absence of kindness and disregard for customer care... We walked across the street to Tie and Timber where the staff was very friendly and abundantly accommodating! There are plenty of other places that charge less and realize the importance of good customer service. I've noticed complaints about a rude woman that works at Cherry Picker Package X Fare in other reviews. This is something I hope they really look at because it's costing them customers. It shouldn't only be about the money. Outside of our experience with this woman the staff is usually great, but that was a really terrible experience. PLEASE treat your customers better!

Yelp
UPDATED REVIEW This has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town. They have great specials for every day of the week. Their food is always so delicious and fresh. A great spot for getting together with friends to split bottles of wine & eat a very delicious well put together charcuterie board! Prices are great- especially if you're getting a bottle! ORIGINAL REVIEW First time checking this place out and all I can say is I'm not sure why I've never been before! Love the area, laid back atmosphere, great drinks including bottle prices and the food is so fresh and light. Definitely my new go to for patio sitting!

Yelp
As hipster-chic hangouts go, you could do a lot worse than this low-key wine dive in Springfield's trendy Pickwick neighborhood. It's clear great care is taken to ensure that the food (a tomato and orange cream bisque with pesto toast, on my visit) is elevated in surprising and delicious ways, and the selection of beverages is unparalleled in this part of town. Beyond the wine, they also brew a mean Americano, and there are a number of teas to choose from as well (although I haven't tried them, so you'll have to find out for yourself whether they're good or not). That said, what makes Cherry Picker truly great are its outdoor seating arrangements and the attendant people-watching available while enjoying them. Its unique location and reputation around town combine to attract an eclectic mix of unique individuals, both young and old, who are not only interesting to look at but fun to speak to, as well. The communal arrangement of the accommodations encourages those kind of interactions, and as we all know, intriguing conversation always makes dinner better.

Yelp
Great spot, good coffee, comfy seating, fantastic people watching. The neighborhood is off the path enough to be serene, but not so much that you're questioning which neighborhood you're in.

Yelp
For someone who is ever the fan of places were I can lose a few hours with some snacks and wine, I somehow always forget about this spot. Which just means I get to fall in love all over again every time I find my way back here. Small and unpretentious, this lovely little corner wine shop packs in quite the variety. There is seating inside the small building, with much more seating available outside. Ordering is done at the counter, which I often prefer over having a waiter continually check in. Food, drinks, and a carafe of water will be delivered to your table and then you will be left alone to enjoy yourself. And enjoy you shall, if you give their food a try. A bottle of wine and cheese plate for 2 tend to be the starting point for me. I've also repeatedly enjoyed the bruschetta and pesto toast. Yes, all these things probably sound simple/ common but in everything I've ever had here, there is always something extra special about the food. Not to mention how fresh everything has always been. The only real downside of coming here is that it can get a bit stuffy inside in the warmer months since there doesn't appear to be AC, but with flies outside it tends to be the only option if you are eating. If you're still unsure of checking out this place, call ahead and see what their specials are for the day. There are some great discounts on wines for certain days of the week!

Yelp
This is the type of dining experience I had reluctantly come to believe was only happening in other, bigger and trendier towns. That is in no way a dig at Springfield. I love this city, but I'd gotten a bit bored eating here lately. Yes, I understand how absurd that seems. Oh well. Anyway, this place serves fresh, local food that is carefully prepared by people who care about the integrity of the dish and your experience while enjoying it. Sure, they're in business to make money, but I get a real sense that they truly want to provide a unique and thoughtful meal. Now, "unique and thoughtful" isn't meant to imply "overly-trendy and inaccessible." There are some fresh new takes on the menu, but everything we got ("Le Jardin" sandwich with arugula, tomatoes, Havarti, and garlic aioli and the cheese board for two with very high quality cheeses-both savory and sweet, bread from Artisan Oven, raisins?, mango fruit leather, cashews, apple butter, spicy mustard, garlic aioli, and olives) felt comforting and homey while simultaneously making us feel like we were back in the Italian countryside where we spent two weeks last summer. They have a large variety of soda, beer, and wine that will expand your horizons regarding each of those beverages while quenching your thirst too. From the small mom-and-pop ambience, to the lovely patio dining, to the shockingly good food (that sandwich was so simple, but such a perfect agreement of complimentary flavors), I cannot say enough good things about this place. It's my new nice afternoon go-to. I'll see you there.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I have been here a handful of times and each time we like it that much more. It's quaint, inviting, and there's plenty of outdoor seating. It's a perfect place to ride your bike and/or meet some friends. The selection of wine, beer, and coffee is pretty incredible for the tiny size. The food is fresh, local, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Springfield needs more places like this.

Yelp
Awesome food and great atmosphere especially for the summer. Also do yourself a favor and take a walk down the street plenty of shade and beautiful houses.

Yelp
Mmmmmm. Love the coffee at the Cherry Picker, located at the quaint corner of South Pickwick and Cherry Street. It is in the Rountree neighborhood in Springfield. Their staff is dog-friendly and always greets our golden lab, whose name is Juice. There are also a string of other shops nearby.

Yelp
Excellent patio to spend an afternoon! Enjoyed a turkey panini and delicious ice tea for lunch!!!

Yelp
Delighted to find this cute place! Loved the atmosphere and variety of coffees. Tried the pesto turkey melt and fresh orange and tomato bisque and loved it. This place is a winner and I'll be back!

Yelp
Great coffee shop. Great atmosphere and great people. And the food is pretty wonderful too. Try the "To Brie or Not To Brie" sandwich. So good. Wonderful spot for hanging out with friends.

Yelp
The prairie pies are incredibly delicious and innovative with flavors that make your eyes roll back in your head!

Yelp
Sad to say it...but not a fan. Ordered the Urban salad and oh my yuck! So bitter that I had to choke it down. The bread, however is delicious and might be their saving grace. They don't refill the tea for free and at $2.50 per glass that is ridiculous.

Yelp
I had lunch here and it was fresh, delicious and unique. There is a small menu of sandwiches, soup and salad and everything sounded great. They also have reasonably priced cheese plates and serve coffee. You can buy wine by the bottle.I had a veggie sandwich and tomato and orange soup and I was impressed. Indoors is pretty small but they make great use of the space. There is lovely outdoor seating as well.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Not impressed. Ordered a cold brew coffee. Charged for a cold brew coffee. Took it to-go. What I actually got was a weird soda/coffee concoction. I tried to drink it, but it was gross. I was the only beverage being prepared so I didn't accidentally take someone's by mistake. Nope. That is how they made my "cold brew". Surely it was a mistake, but like I said mine was the only beverage being prepared. When you order a basic coffee you shouldn't have to worry about getting some funky drink instead. I threw it in the garbage. Sad day for me. I really wanted to enjoy some coffee too!

Yelp
A wonderful neighborhood place for a nice, laid back lunch, drink with a friend, or a coffee stop on a walk in the morning. The staff is friendly and always helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who is interested in a neighborhood feel where everyone knows your name.

Yelp
A little bit of everything (coffee, wine, beer, lunch and small plates) and it is all amazingly delicious. Recommend the Brie or Not to Brie sandwich!

Casey S.

Yelp
Deceptively simple and delicious food paired with a relatively concise and intelligent spirits/beer/wine selection. The service is knowledgeable and empathetic. It's easy to be a regular here.

David D.

Yelp
What a neat place. Pleasant spot for easy day with friends. Great selection of wines. Good food. Good people behind the counter. The area is friendly with other small shops. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Lori P.

Yelp
Very limited menu and a little pricey. $8 for a glass of wine. However, the food eas delicious!! We had orange and tomato soup and the cheese board. The soup was amazing! It had just a hint of orange. Who would've thought those flavors would go together?! I was impressed with the cheese board. It wasn't just run of the mill cheeses. And, the servings were generous! Will definitely go back!

Morgan J.

Yelp
One of the most unique and awesome places in Springfield! I love stopping here for a bite to eat or a drink with friends. Their staff is always super friendly and welcoming every time we stop in. Very thankful to have this local option in such a cute area of town.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Love to hang out here and have a glass of wine or run in and grab a coffee on my way to work. Delicious food. Also love that you can stop by and pick up a bottle of wine or liquor.

Timothy C.

Yelp
Awesome little chill spot for some coffee, lunch, or a drink. The selection of coffee, beer, wine, and spirits is extensive and definitely worth a peek. The staff is always kind and helpful and glad to offer an opinion when you're having a hard time deciding on what you'd like. I'd definitely recommend this place for a casual stop or even a date. 10/10.
