Cherry Tree Inn is awful. Worn out. Dirty. The bath and prep area had black dirt in the crevices. The carpet dirtied our socks. And to top it off, the manager/receptionist is the rudest ‘front’ person we have ever met. Even if it was free, being close to the hospital is NOT worth it.

Spent $112. on a 5 minute stay. Room smelled horrible. No air flow. Trying to get refund and employee are not allowed to do that. Have called the last 4 days and left messages with my name and number. They have no interest in making this right. They want your $$$.

I have been staying here the last 3 nights love the old school charm with a modern twist . I love the rock display I'm a rock hound . The stay was peaceful and clean. The staff are polite and welcoming it's right next to the hospital very convenient. It is also reasonable thank you. I'm in the top 10% of Google reviewers for a reason I know my stuff 😃

We stayed at the Cherry Tree on N Broadway in Billings. I woke up to a little bug crawling on my pillow. After some pictures and research I discovered it as a BED BUG!!! We took it to the front desk and the guy at the desk had no reactions. We asked him to please inform his supervisor so they can get it under control immediately. Still no reactions no apologies no offer to comp " which wasn't expected but would have been a nice gesture ". We will never stay again.

The room we got was supposed to be handicap accessible. The bathroom was so small we could not take a walker in to it. We checked out after trying to cope with the saggy bed and darkly lit room after two hours. We requested a refund but did not get it. It’s the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We went and checked into another hotel.

The room we stayed in was RANK! Horrible horrible smell and just overall filthy! Smelled like someone puked rotten milk all over the floor. The carpet was disgusting, it was stiff like it got wet at some point and was horribly stained. Hair in the drain of the shower, gritty bathroom floor, rough stained towels. So glad we only stayed for a few hours to lay our heads down and shower in the morning while our loved one was in emergency surgery and recovery due to an accident. Literally just go anywhere else! For $115 a night, there are multiple other hotels in the area that have competitive pricing. The one good thing is it is walking distance to the hospital, but absolutely not worth it. My clothes still smell like rotten milk! In hindsight, wish we would have asked for a different room or a refund, but we were all so wore out from the days events and just needed sleep at that point.

The location absolutely does not make up for the price for the disrespectful money hungry staff that lied on us multiple times to get more. They tried to charge us $100 for the two towels and two hand Rags that they had in the room in which they said that we stole but in fact we put in their laundry basket. There was bloody snot boogers above the bed on the ceiling where we slept. It smells like wet dog pee. The only decent part about this Motel is they have decent looking comforters to make up for the raunchy rest of the room

Great place to stay in Billings, conveniently located for not only Billings Clinic medical patronage, but minor league baseball Billings Mustangs attendance, as well. Dehler Park baseball is one-half block east. This is the closest motel to the ballpark. I stay here annually on a minor league baseball trip, and this location could not be more convenient. Full service Perkin's Restaurant is one block, KFC and Hardees a block and a half, and an Albertsons Supermarket 2 blocks. I don't move the car the entire stay, because everything needed (including bank/ ATMs) is within a short stroll.||The rooms have George Washington traditional Cherry-style furniture, wallcovering, etc. Lobby and public areas as well have traditional furniture. The original front half of the building has extremely solid and sound proof past era construction techniques, concrete floor between 1st + 2nd and concrete block wall cores between the rooms. Very soundproof.||On-site coin-op laundry machines, complimentary coffee and popcorn provided in the lobby all day. Owner Doug frequents the lobby during the day, and is great to talk with. Feels like you're visiting relatives, rather than staying in a motel. Perfect accommodations for any fellow baseball fans in town for a few games.

Yelp
I really like this place. I'm a travel nurse and I stayed here for 6 weeks. It's the best value place you can get in Billings. While other hotels will charge you 2k/month. Cherry Tree Inn gave me a really good rate. This is definitely a budget motel so you get what you pay for, but this place has everything you need. They have laundry, free breakfast, microwave, mini fridge. Bed was soft and comfortable, the cleaners here are very good and the room felt pretty clean for being an older motel. The staff here are so lovely, they are very friendly and kind, and always willing to help out with suggestions or recommendations in Billings. Sometimes you will get some homeless people around the area, but they seemed pretty harmless to me and they kept to themselves. My car has been very safe in the parking lot, but I don't leave valuables in my car. If you are going to Billings Clinic Hospital, the hospital is literally across the street and its a 10 second walk. I'm glad I stayed here was a good 6 weeks. Also, they have food trucks in there parking lot Monday-Friday 11-1pm. There's an awesome breakfast burrito food truck on Thursday morning 630-9am, such a delicious burrito, and they sell out too.

Yelp
I stayed at Cherry Tree Inn for three nights while my daughter was hospitalized after a tragic car accident. I chose this hotel because it was the closest to the hospital, and all other hotels in the area were fully booked due to a teacher convention. After the first night, I discovered that my room was infested with bedbugs. I contacted the hotel, and they told me they couldn't refund my money and that they couldn't move me to another room in case I would spread the bedbugs. Upon leaving, I asked the manager to come and see the bites my grandson had suffered. Instead, they sent housekeeping management, who were kind and understanding. They confirmed that the bedbugs were present and had come from a previous guest, not from us. The housekeeping staff provided detergent and instructions on how to get rid of the bedbugs, showing genuine concern for our situation. Despite explaining my circumstances--a daughter undergoing surgery for severe injuries and the responsibility of caring for my three grandsons during this difficult time--the only compensation offered was $50. Given that I had no other accommodation options and no ability to leave the hotel, I was forced to stay in the infested room for the remainder of my stay. While the housekeeping staff showed empathy and did their best to help, it was evident that the hotel management had not properly addressed the bedbug issue. This experience added significant stress during an already overwhelming situation. I strongly advise potential guests to avoid this hotel until they properly address their bedbug issue and improve their customer service policies.

Yelp
This place is aesthetically dated, however it gives a really lovely cozy feel. The rooms, walls and bathroom are well built. Never once did I hear my neighbors and that is a huge plus for me. There is an occasional ambulance due to it being next to the hospital but it wasn't as much of a problem as you may think. The helicopter and washer/dryer situation however is the reason I can't give 5 stars, if they replaced the windows to muffle the outdoor sounds and got a few more machines for laundry then this place would be 5 stars. It's clean and the water pressure is 10 stars!! The employees are all every kind and helpful. Breakfast was tasty as well. I came here for long term out-of-town work and had a very good stay. I do recommend giving this place a try.

Yelp
My mother in law is getting a heart procedure at Billings Clinic, and Cherry Tree made zero attempt to rectify the situation of staying at a hotel room with zero air conditioning. We brought it to their attention several times but no discount, apology or offer to give us a habitable room during our stay. I expected better service from a company that caters to the traveling families of those that are receiving urgent care. Very disappointed.

Yelp
We are very disappointed with our experience at Cherry Tree Inn, Billings, MT. I am having heart surgery tomorrow morning at the Billings Clinic. The Cherry Tree Inn is directly across the street from the hospital. You can't beat the excellent location. The office staff was very friendly and allowed us an early checkin. This is where the story goes south. Our room was gross. The temperature was 85°. The temperature could not be turned down. The instructions were to set the thermostat to the temp you want then using a switch below the thermostat set it to medium or high to either suck in cold air or blow in warm air. (Not real sure how that would work). Called front desk, they were unable to help but would send maintenance down - never did show. Nightstand on one side of the bed had broken drawer pull. Neither of the lights on the night stands worked. The shelf under the wall mounted iron was covered with ashes? of some sort. We attempted to open the window for some fresh air but it only opened about 3 inches. This was a first floor room and there were several people sitting outside our room smoking. We didn't really want smoke being drawn into our non-smoking room. I sat on the bed, it was very soft and lumpy. I didn't lay down. I could go on but you get the idea. The price was good, $89/night. But there are 3-4 newer hotels in approximately a .5 mile distance. We chose to leave the Cherry Tree Inn and checked into a Hilton Home 2, that was only $20 more than the Cherry Tree Inn.

Yelp
Building smelled very bad Front desk staff rude Room very hot 80+ degrees maintenance guy very nice but couldn't get air conditioning going. We ended up leaving room early and sitting on vehicle to wait while family member very Ill in hospital. Talked with owner who was rude and basically didn't care. Will not go back and do not recommend. Zero stars

Yelp
This is a cheap motel. Very convenient if you have a need to stay close to the Billings Clinic. The helicopters bring patients in from afar so there is that! The place is very dated and not super clean. Beds were ok. Lots of street folks around and the clinic staff smoke in the parking lot. Stay at your own risk.

Yelp
We came to Billings because my mother had a heart attack. We decided to stay somewhere close to the hospital. We checked in very late, and thank God they had a room available. The rooms were nice and clean. It's also located close to the hospital and Perkins is a block away.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
The only good thing about this place is it's very close to the hospital. Stayed there 8 days and had room service 3 times. Had to complain to manager we hadn't had our room cleaned for days. The housekeepers put a do not disturb sign on our door so they wouldn't have to clean it.

Shaylee C.

Yelp
No air conditioning in the room 80+ degrees with no attempt to fix it from the staff. Stinks like stale cigarettes. 10$ discount did not make up for being unable to sleep due to excessive heat. Do not recommend this place.

Yelp
Spent the night here since my surgery, at Billings Hospital, was postponed. There was a small fridge & no microwave. Things that make you go "hmmm." Room was a decent size. Queen size bed wasn't to unbearable. But it was hard to get comfortable & I did wake up with a stiff neck & back. Bathroom came equipped with plethora of towels & the shower was the most positive part of the stay, thanks to a massaging shower head that was delightful! There was plenty of parking, but NONE of the entry doors locked, making it easy for ANYONE to have access to the rooms! Talk about sleeping with "one eye open." Price was reasonable for the condition of the room & Inn. Not sure I would stay there again. Although it was within walking distance of the hospital. No pictures taken, due to being worn out from the stress of the wait for surgery, only to have it postponed.

Yelp
I stayed here the night before my surgery because it is across the street from the entrance to the hospital and left my truck in their parking lot because I planned on staying for two nights after the surgery. While in the hospital my truck was vandalized and window broken. It was parked directly in front of the hotels camera but the window broken was just out of view of the camera and so they refused to look through video to see if someone was looking into windows. They said they were not responsible because I didn't leave my keys with them. As I sat there for an hour waiting for police all manners of scary people went in and out of the place including there employees. Every entrance you have to walk through a cloud of smokers to go in and out of the hotel.

Yelp
We had a couple of friends stay at the Cherry Tree Inn, in Billings, Montana, a few weeks ago. They were robbed as they were sleeping and the one friend ended up loosing quite a bit of money as his pants were taken with the money a pocket. The next morning when they woke up and realized what happened, they contacted the police. Just a warning to everyone: Be aware of your surroundings and if something doesn't seem right get it checked out or move to another room or hotel. The door to their room did not close properly but they didn't think to ask about it.

Yelp
Nice looking from the outside. Room looked ok. Desk clerk was friendly. when we went in the room was hot so I tried to open the window. It would not open. Tried the AC it did not work. We called the desk and a girl came up who could not fix the AC or the window. Eventually I was able to get the window open a few inches. The toilet was running non stop. The float lever was broken. We called the desk again and were told she was trying to contact the manager. 40 minutes later she told us she could get a response from a repairman or manager. We asked for another room. An hour later She still could not get any help and told us we could get a price reduction in the morning. after listening to the toilet run all night. the desk lady was surprised they did not just get us another room since the had vacancies. She said the manager would call us at 8:00 when she got in. We drove 140 miles home, waited until a couple hours and the called again. An hour later a guy called and disputed everything refusing any compensation.

Yelp
This is an affordable place close to the medical district. The staff is friendly and rooms are ok. Parking sucks. The internet SUCKS!!

Yelp
not a friendly or safe place. Especially with the night desk clerk. Very disappointing. Had a very scary interaction with the staff member.

Yelp
We were not sure how far we would drive the first day, so we decided to set up the best walk up rates for the various locations on our route. This was the farthest city we wanted that day, and this was one of the two places we picked. I will give them top marks on being likely the cleanest hotel we saw on this trip, but after that it fell apart. The service was lacking, as if they were going through the motions. The free breakfast was very poor considering most of the people here seem to be for the hospital across the street. The WiFi although free only worked in the lobby because of the building type. I can go into more but lets leave it at I can not see us stopping here again if we pass through this way.

Yelp
My parents came to town today and was trying to stay at the Cherry Tree Inn. My mom was trying to get a room and nobody waited on her...she rang the bell twice and noticed the front desk person sleeping in the back room so she called three times to see if they would hear her and wake up. Nothing happened so she left. This is ridiculous. Regardless of what the situation is this is so unprofessional. My parents come to Billings often, this establishment will no longer get their business.

Yelp
BED BUGS!! BED BUGS!!! This place is infested with bed bugs and the motel knows it. I complained and they refused to listen and refused to acknowledge it. In fact they were RUDE!!! A housekeeper pulled me aside and said that they know they have a bed bug infestation and are not doing anything about.

Yelp
Wi-Fi doesn't seem to be working, and the front desk isn't helpful about that. However the rooms are clean and nice; and it is conveniently located next to the Billings Clinic.

Yelp
I was really tired from my drive across the country and needed a place to stay ASAP. I checked in here at 1am, it was $71.55. wish it was cheaper, but oh well. it was cozy, I gave it 3 stars because the faucet water smelled like rotten eggs every time I would turn it on. so I ended up brushing my teeth with my bottled water. the bed was ok, everything was just ok. I thought it was cool that they served waffles and other food for breakfast. I didn't end up eating it cause I checked out lateish. the staff was nice. over all, it was just ok.

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
This is a great little place to stay. I stayed here on a road trip across the country and I'll stop here again on my way back. The room was very inexpensive and newly renovated. The room was very spotless. The service was excellent. There was continental breakfast and coffee in the morning.

Michael P.

Yelp
This place was an original DUMP! Every room smells of cigarette smoke; carpets stained; stairways coated with dirty oil; sidewalk had dog feces on it (tracked into one of the side doors; breakfast featured sugar-soaked "dough"-nuts. Inexplicably, the shower was terrific. Overall, you DON'T get what you PAY for!

Bridget B.

Yelp
We were there on 9/11/14 and again on 9/17/14 Our room was very clean with very comfortable beds. We never made it down stairs early to partake of the breakfast but the coffee was good. I would recommend this place. The only drawback I could find was the smoking near the entrance. Would be better if they could re-locate that so all the guests don't have to be exposed.
