Chesterfield Hotel

Great value for money! Clean rooms, very friendly staff, and great central location. Rooms are okay, just not new and fancy, but nothing to complain about. Mattresses are soft and good. Good breakfast, especially for that price. Free waffles every afternoon. Definitely recommend and I’ll come back!

The Chesterfield furniture were in the reception area, where one could make waffles and have coffee for free every afternoon. The rooms are far from the small fancy-pancy rooms you find at modern chain hotels. The carpets and most everything else spoke of the 1960s. But the location is perfect and their breakfast was far above my expectations. Plus also to their friendly staff. That their prices are in the lower bracket is understandable, but that's fair and smart when you take Norway’s price level into consideration!

We made a last-minute reservation for our family and were perfectly accommodated in this hotel throw-back little gem of a hotel. It was clean and comfortable, with waffles and coffee in the late afternoon, and a fantastic breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfectly walkable to the town center, restaurants, and transportation, while the prices were also very reasonable. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The location was at the exact centre of the city, with a 5-minute walk to Trondheim sentrum station. Brilliant service with complimentary breakfast. Tommy, who was at the desk, was superb, friendly, and so helpful. I had a great time at the hotel being a business traveller. Recommend it to all travellers.

Quaint, historic hotel with an excellent location, pretty decent breakfast, clean rooms with great views of Trondheim. A few blocks away from the train station (less than 3 mins walk) and about 6-8 minutes from the bus stop, both of which go to the Trondheim airport (25-ish mins by train, and 35-40 mins by the Flybuss express bus) We arrived early and they secured our luggage, allowing us to take an afternoon walk in the city, enjoy the beautiful weather and come back later for a 3pm check in. Rooms have great views, and we were lucky to get a sunny room, with a nice view of the sunset. Breakfast buffet has a decent range of options (including gluten free options). Very good with free waffles. Good place, cheap. Good for just sleeping, the view we got was not that good haha, but did not matter. Was a bit hot tho

the. elevator not working but manage to stay 1st floor. easy access to train station. staff are friendly and helpful.  good breakfast . 

After reading a few reviews before my stay here, I think, in most cases, it’s exactly what I expected. It’s not the newest hotel and sometimes felt a bit underutilized or unmaintained. What I didn’t get from the reviews, however, is how welcoming it is. I decided to try a different hotel after approximately 10 stays at the same one over the last six months, and I have to say, for my next stay, I’ll definitely choose this one again. I’m not sure how to describe it, but I somehow felt more welcome—almost like a homey vibe. The breakfasts are great, much better than I expected. I truly understand that this might not be a hotel for everyone, but I would definitely recommend giving it a try. For me, they perfectly fit the kind of experience I was looking for on my trips, especially when traveling alone.
